Nokia 8 coming from Huawei mate 8 - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

Hi guys I lost my huawei mate 8 and i'm looking for a good phone for a good price. I am hesitating between huawei mate 9 and nokia 8. So should i take nokia 8? please advise me, I saw good reviews here and on youtube but i want your opinion is it good phone for daily use? is there good mods for sound and camera? is there a good custom rom or no need? thank you all

If you like big screen get mate 9 but if you dont mind then get nokia 8 , but you cant flash any roms or mods cos of the bootloader u cant unlock it

OK but is there a need to install mods or custom roms anyway? As I saw the official rom is blasing fast and stable. So if the sound is OK ans the Camera is OK so Go for the Nokia 8 <3

I don't think there's really anything new on the Note9 worth porting. The only really big feature is one that likely won't work on our devices, anyway. Most of what's new, we might get with our 8.1 update, anyway.

what are you talking about man, the price difference between the 2 phones are so narrow , and roms are made for people to keep their phones so what's the point of buying a new s9 or note 9 and install new roms on them??
maybe i didn't get what you meant but phones as note 3 and 4 are still getting S9 custom roms from developers!!!! why will devs move to new devices that don't need anything!!!
Will the note 9 Rom enable dex without dex dock needed for our note 8 that would be great

U should just take a look at what is going on around before such a brave statement. Most of good and best devs are upgrading their devices accordingly to their released. And I simply can tell U is it worth - my N8 was rooted 3h after I bought brand new but few days with stock firmware. And it was really surprising for me (but this is new device effect). But after 2 weeks...it became 2x faster, 2x efficient and longer lasting on single battery cycle. Sorry - for me (and most of people here I guess) most important is freedom! In customizations, apps, root access, firmware or rather custom ware.... If U don't feel it, U simply in a wrong place?

Thers is only 1 oreo rom available at this moment "pegasis rom" but it's still in beta and camera Bluetooth is not working.
If you want for daily use This is best rom in my opinion
Fast stable without any bugs
Android 7.0 with latest security patch August 2018
Comes with note 8 aircommand+live messages+oreo keyboard+ note 8 edge panels.
I am using this from more then a week not a single complain
Getting 5+ hours of SOT

SAMSUNG official firmware is the best, TWRP, just debloat, have magisk, xposed & forget the rest.
Trust me it will just save lot of time.
Every custom rom for this device is all JUST TOTALLY NONSENSE, apart from moded stock rom FROM MSR.
IF YOU WANT A REFRESHING LOOK just try launchers of your desired phones or ROM.
Like oreo launchers or note 9 launchers.

Optimal firmware x527

Hi all!
Tell me, what firmware on x527 is now the most optimal?
Which version of the android is more stable? 7,8,9?
Which core is better to use?
Thank you very much for the help
The most Stable is 6.0.1... the stock Rom or MIUI 10.
But there are many good Oreo and Pie Roms if you don't care about the camera.

I've always been a little skeptical about MIUI, especially on other brands, but after try most of roms based on 7, 8 and 9, I've found that the LeEco x52X works better with Marshmallow, maybe because never was an official update to a newer version and MIUI is the only really good and updated ROM around.
Hope the DEV does not stop building it.

Question Downgrade Android 12 to 11

Hey whatsup!
Im currently on Pixel Extended 4 Android 12 and the rom is really great. However, I still miss many features from the Miui camera so I want to go back to Miui. Whats the proper way to do it?
Regards
You can flash the recovery rom if you need your bootloader unlocked even after flashing miui but if u don't need that you can flash the original rom from mi flash tool
Thanks alot..i already tried and it worked. Thought I couldnt flash MIUI in Recovery due to encryption. But it worked flawless. I still need to get used to the "slow" experience on MIUI compared to Pixel Extended 4. But I want to use the camera to its fullest content.
Thanks

You can try the European miui rom, it has better speed than the other ones
Im using the EEA europe version right now. you mean the xiaomi.eu rom? Thats even slower and stuttering is pretty common opening apps.
I should have said this earlier but there is an mi camera port called anx camera. But not sure it will work or not
Theres no working ANX for Android 12 as far as I know. And IF, theres no 1080 MP sensor. But nvm..Ill stick with Miui for now. Maybe theres some upcoming stuff in the future.
Thanks
Ok good luck

Question How to install Xiaomi Cam

Hey there hello
So I've been playing around with custom roms for a 1.5 year. I think I have enough experience and now I'm starting to get interested in mods and ports
Idk much about that and I just want to start asking how do I install the Xiaomi stock camera app in my Redmi Note 10 Pro with a custom ROM installed on it.
Also if anyone can explain me what does been "ported" mean thanks

May a ROM developer can help you.
But it's really difficult to get MIUI cam working in non MIUI Roms.....

Ported/Porting/Ports means a specific software that only works on selected devices and giving it support to work for other devices.
In the case of your question, Xiaomi Cam, or MIUI Cam, is the default camera application for Xiaomi devices tunes by Xiaomi themselves and only works for Xiaomi devices, with specific features for each devices.
ANX Camera is the port of MIUI Camera that works for Custom ROM and some non-miui based OS. ANX is a Magisk Module too meaning you'll have to root your phone to install systemlessly. Link to the download:
ANXCamera by AEonAX
Download latest ANXCamera, A Miui Camera Port for Xiaomi's Devices, Install via Magisk or TWRP
camera.aeonax.com
I recommend you to use v204 even though it's an alpha release to get the closest camera quality similar to stock. If that doesn't work, try the stable release which are 190R or 185R.
