LG Smartworld & LG Account APKs - Access Fonts, Themes, 360 Wallpapers, Etc. on U.S. - LG V30 Themes, Apps, and Mods

LG Smartworld & LG Account APKs - Access Fonts, Themes, 360 Wallpapers, Etc. on U.S.
Quick Disclaimer: I modified these apps and tested them with my VS996 V30 (Verizon Wireless) but I assume it will work will all V30 devices across all carrier networks. I have updated to 8.0 Oreo, so I can confirm it will work with the new firmware. Obviously I am not responsible for any damage, loss, or catastrophic failure that may be caused by downloading/installing/using these apps.
Below are links to the LG Smartworld app and the LG Account app that are compatible with U.S. versions of our devices. The LG Account app cannot be opened on its own, but it is accessible from inside the Smartworld app. Once you've installed both apks open Smartworld and in the top right menu icon select "LG Account" and sign up using your Google account and accept all terms and conditions. After that in the left hand pull out menu select "Content" and in the subsequent menus you can find and download a bunch of different theming items such as HiFi Ringtones, Fonts, ETC. *Note that I believe the available themes will not work with new Oreo ROMs, but not 100% on that one.*
You can also access the latest versions of LG Apps as well as a collection of "General Apps" suggested by LG from within Smartworld. *As of now LG Pay does not work in the U.S.*

ENJOY!

Lots of nice themes Thanks

LG Pay accepts Paypal in Europe, so I wonder why it doesn't in the U.S.

According to this Android Police article LG Pay should be active in the US by June. TBH I don't see the point unless they somehow offer some incentive Google Pay or Samsung Pay don't...besides LG just vying for a piece of the pie.
https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...unching-us-june-will-work-upcoming-lg-phones/
The article also claims that G7 and V40 will accompany the app release too. G7 maybe given MCW and the spoiler included in the description for LG Pay on the Play Store, but V40 would be surprising at the same time.

No offense, but SmartWorld is such a steaming pile of crap, why would anyone bother?
It's filled with anime/weeaboo themes, not updated regularly in any fashion (kind of like their devices), and just generally pretty sparse on content.
Seriously, the PlayStore or Zedge is a better place to find things.

You should be able to find a version of the LG account app on the LG Korea site. I will also dig for the copy I have and pm you a link.

I agree 100%. I just know folks have asked for fonts for non-root devices which is honestly all I ever used it for.

Won't let me install the LG account app says "file appears to be corrupt,, using TMobile variant 7.1.2

The state of Android Market for International users

I currently have a Xoom Wi-fi being used here in the Caribbean (Netherlands Antilles) and the state of Android Market simply makes it unusable, even when using USA VPN Connection.
I did find a solution here in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065698 (a combination of root + build.prop of a verizon xoom)
But what about using the Xoom without root? For the normal user. Let's say I decide I want to sell the Xoom, for a normal user it would appear to be simply unusable, unable to buy or download a good junk of apps. Without all this tinkering I would constantly get: "The requested app could not be found" or cannot be installed on your device to cannot be installed on your carrier. My country seems to be supported: http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/developer/bin/answer.py?answer=138294 , but after asking some devs to enable an app in my market, most tell you that they made it available to ALL markets already. Especially this part I find particularly troubling as the devs clearly want to maximize their sales and make it available in as many countries as possible, yet for my country (and many others) where supposedly even paid apps are enabled, we cannot download/pay for them.
My question is basically isn't there an easy way around all of this, without root, basically in an out-of-box state? I guess this is also a cautionary tale that without all this tinkering/rooting....a wifi Xoom is pretty much usless in certain markets.
I Hear u on this! I Wrote to google asking about this situation, but havent got any replies yet!.
They have a form to contact them in the market help!.
(Venezuela here)
THe list of countries we are given to deploy to as a dev is not exhaustive, if it's not in the list, there is nothing we can do about deploying there (as developers) it's up to google to sort out whatever problem it is thats keeps your country off the list.

According to the list my country falls in "Rest of the world" and has support for both free and paid apps. So I don't understand what's the problem.
Also as a dev, i think it's important for you guys, as I know many international users would like to buy certain apps, which is a huge untapped market, all potential sales going to waste.

yes, it's very true, so which country are you in? I don't know which list you are looking at, but I'm looking at the list that is presented to me when I upload an application for sale on the market, I have to select countries and prices, with, by default, every country is selected.
Im located in Netherlands Antilles (Not Netherlands) I'm looking at this list: http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/developer/bin/answer.py?answer=138294

Yup, they allow me to purchase your content. But like you said, it's a problem with Google, especially when the dev has enabled the apps in all markets and the market allows for paid apps, yet you can't download or buy them. Very frustrating.

So are you saying that even though you can see our apps, and others, you can't download/buy them? Including ours that you can see?
Actually its not such a big issue. I bought a Xoom wifi from the US. I live in the UAE and initially I had the same issues though Market access worked fine. Now though after using the update and getting to 3.1 even that isn't needed my Xoom is recognized a Verizon Xoom (since I used the US wifi files).
PS: UAE isn't on any of the lists :0) there might not be an official solution but there sure is a work around.
Cheers.

Yours works, but in some cases of games like riptide it simply didnt allow it.
I had to root and do some stuff to allow it. Which means Google/Market has a few problems

Samsung Pay

Alright, I'm tired of looking so I'll just ask..... Is it just me or is the Samsung Pay stuff not installed on our device out of the box? I can't find anything on it anywhere..... If AT&T removed it by default, I'm not gonna be a happy camper...
Maybe I jumped the gun a little here..... I've just read several articles stating Samsung Pay was enabled by default with the device, however now I'm seeing that its not going to be available to US customers until summer time?!?! If someone could confirm it would be appreciated.
http://www.cio.com/article/2890887/samsung/how-samsung-pay-works-nfc-mst-security-faqs.html
.
Yep summer time it is. Read that in a few articles and I think they mentioned it at the launch event.

Does anyone know if Looppay works natively without the extra accessory? If so, you can still download that.
At least Apple Pay rollout has just been a trickle. Samsung Pay could come in like a flood.
Nope. You have to have the accessory or loop pay will not work.
I've found the link to be able to download the Samsung Pay Beta .apk file but I haven't figured out how to get it to install. Does someone else want to try? I'm stuck on a Samsung S6 Edge running 5.0.2. I wonder if you have to have 5.1.1 to run it.
Korea Link - https://kr.mpay.samsung.com/apk
US Link - https://us.mpay.samsung.com/apk
Here's a download link for the Samsung Pay .apk file I found on the Korean link. It lets me install it on my Samsung S6 Edge+ running android 5.1.1.
https://mega.nz/#!cRFkUAhT!8h7kOQ8opFy3YWal7xgw68EByv6dOsgepURGy9C005E
Does it work? I'm getting used to Google wallet more and more. When I'm at babiesrus my reward program automatically popped up. Very convenient. It'll be hard to switch to saunaing pay unless it's really magical.
I haven't gotten past the first screen with the start button yet. They may be blocking it until the beta officially opens on Aug 25th. The nice thing about the samsung pay vs google wallet is that nfc isn't required so it should work more places.

I called today and they told me to download the Samsung Plus app from the Google playstore. I downloaded it agreed to the terms and logged in and then inside the app there was a link that said "Join Samsung Pay Beta". So far it doesn't do anything, but it seems promising that it might work tomorrow after the beta has officially begun.

I tried to install the APK files but it says there's a problem parsing the package. I'm probably missing something. Also, quick question, how did you get a hold of the apk? I signed up the beta and I'm hoping they pick me as well. Samsung Pay was one of the reasons I bought the S6.

Are you on android 5.0.2? It seems like the .apk file for Samsung Pay will only install on 5.1.1.
I was accepted into the beta and then just used an app called apk extractor to pull the updates .apk files off of my phone to share with the community. Sadly it seems like even with the updated Samsung Pay .apk file installed, people are unable to install the update .apk file for the Samsung Pay Framework, and are just stuck on the first screen with the start button.

Use Google translate
Does it have offline voice translate?
As far as I'm aware this is the same version you find in the store. The optimization will be automatically enabled on our device.
I just searched for the app in the store it says already installed and I did not install it manually.
The Playstore version is pretty much the same, I have used both.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.translator
This version is simply no longer available
This is because a dedecated AI chip is no longer necessary for on-device AI translation.
"Because of the computing power needed to run these high-quality translation models, this capability was only available online. In the latter part of 2017, this capability was made available on specific Android phones equipped with a dedicated AI chip. It allowed their users to get offline translation quality that was on par with the quality of online neural translation.
Building on this initial work, the Translator team was able to further optimize these algorithms, allowing them to run directly on any modern device’s CPU without the need for a dedicated AI chip. The new Translator apps now bring NMT to the edge of the cloud for all Android, iOS, and Amazon Fire devices. Support for Windows devices is coming soon." -Microsoft
TL;DR: The technology can now run on any device, not only those with a dedicated AI-chip. Because of this, I assume that because of this the special version for Huawei devices has been discontinued. It is simply no longer necessary

Samsung is apparently tired of their app store being neglected, and is pushing people into it for everything. Fonts were the first thing to get locked into their app store, and it's only gotten worse since. It's kind of ironic, as Samsung used to be one of the few Android vendors that let you customize nearly everything, but now it's among the most locked down.
I believe one of the lesser known issues is that, as of Pie, Samsung will no longer allow free themes or fonts either. Anything in their app store that is "free" will be a demo only and time out.

I thought they went back on that demo thing? I remember reading when the pie beat came out that they were making free themes a trial only but changed it back to having completely free ones. I might be wrong though, however I'm using a free theme as we speak and it didnt say anything about a trial or anything.

I looked it up, and yes, it seems Samsung backed off of the demo/time trial thing for free themes. So, unless they do it again in the future, my bad.
Of course, the fact that you can only get themes/fonts/etc. through the Galaxy App store is ridiculous, but at least that particular bit of ridiculousness got walked back.
Man... I'm not even asking for much when it comes to custom theming. I just want a black theme for WhatsApp, Twitter, IG and Outlook on my phone. The rest of the system UI is fine with what Samsung gives us in night/dark mode.

Gvien the popularity of Substratum, Swift, and Andromeda, I'd work with them to get them on the Galaxy Store if I were Samsung. But what do I know, I'm just a guy and not a multi-billion dollar company.
If they want people to use their store, give people a reason to use it. I've been using the Galaxy Themes in conjunction with Substratum ever since I first learned about it since there's overlap that is beneficial for both.

I've been doing the same.
However, I'm not 100% sure this was Samsung's fault. Google was the one who purposefully neutered rootless Substratum on Pie. They went so far as in the March 2018 security update retroactively try to break it on Oreo as well. The fact that Samsung left it intact when they released Pie for the S9 probably irritated Google enough for them to push Samsung into blocking it.
The idea of having Substratum and its themes move to the Galaxy Store is a great one, but I'm not sure Google would like that and Samsung seems to have moved pass the time when they didn't care about what Google thought. I mean...Samsung itself admitted (in the Good Lock update announcement) that the ruining of the split-screen on Android Pie was the result of a demand from Google. I wouldn't be surprised is blocking Substratum on rootless phones was also a result of Google's meddling.
Question is: why? Is Google actually building their own version of Substratum into Android Q? Twitter's CEO, when talking about moving their night mode from blue to black, mentioned his wish to have a system wide theme that would change the Twitter app as well. This would be the ideal scenario. Third party devs would have the work of theming their apps lifted from them and outsourced to someone else, Google would "secure" the OMS engine for public use and we would finally get what we've been asking for years (it would also put an end to the debate about what is a good and a bad Dark Theme).
If only I believed Google ever had the interest of its users at heart...

Question What third-party apps/bloat are pre-installed?

I'm looking at this as it's one of the few narrower android phones available. However, I'm trying to get confirmation on what third-party (i.e. non-google or asus) apps/bloat are pre-installed. One review claimed only the Netflix app comes pre-installed, while other reviews suggest facebook's stuff is also installed.
Can anyone confirm? Thx.
From memory, the only pre-installed apps that are not from Asus are
Netflix
Facebook
Facebook Messenger
Instagram
The usual Google Stuff, like Youtube, Drive, Duo, etc
Maybe one or two more that I am forgetting, but not more than that
Thanks, which country is that for? I'm particularly interested in Canada/North America.
