Netflix problem not solvable with Magisk v16.0? - Magisk

Hi there,
I cannot solve a Netflix issue on my device, can someone assist?
If this is the wrong place for the thread please move it.
My device:
Huawei P8 lite (2015)
Paranoid Android custom rom (Android version 7.1.2) via TWRP
Kernel Version 3.10.108
Magisk v16.0
After flashing the custom rom, I could not find Netflix in the play store anymore.
So I used Magisk hide (first picture) and the Netflix app was back (second picture)!
Somehow, if I install this (works) and open the Netflix app, I recieve some error (third picture).
It says something like 'app is not compatible with your device. You can download a compatible version from the webpage'
Even if I mark the Netflix app in Magisk hide before opening.
If I download the 'compatible' version from the webpage (Netflix 4.16) I can start the Netflix app, however, I cannot download anything for offline watching.
Anyone knows what I am doing wrong or what else to try?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. If some information is missing, just ask for it !

Maybe a codec problem in this rom?

No, I Hope That The Latest Version Of Magisk To Be Suitable For All Devices But It Relies On Many Factors Such As Boot Image, Kernel, Rom & Magisk Itself.
Are you sure that a SafetyNet infection is not more complicated?
I would really appreciate your input on this, as my Galaxy S5 on stock 6.0.1 is infected by SafetyNet. I re-flashed to stock and am about to flash Magisk 16.4. I am trying to decide whether a dreaded factory reset to wipe /data is necessary to get rid of the SafetyNet failed state. What I am afraid of is that there may be a cross-infection between /data/data (gapps) and installed apps that cooperate closely with SafetyNet.
In particular in my case, for example, an app "NOAA Weather" reports frequently back to Google and warned me to to update Play Services after I restored Play Services to a stock version. Poking around in Play Services SqLite databases in /data/data (...gms) I found an unencrypted database listing the NOAA Weather app executable name. I am afraid that the NOAA Weather app's data may also have my device blacklisted. And who knows where else in /data the SafetyNet failed state may be flagged?? What is your opinion about this?
Thank you!

I believe that I am good on this thread, Dreamer; thank you!
This is an excellent script and did what I struggled to do manually.
I feel there's a noticeable difference in the battery consumption post this script as I'm being a bit more conscious about what Google options to permit this time around.
Great work.

Santander app is not working on custom ROM or root device

Hi Guys!
I've been following the topic about the TEZ app and I have a similar problem with Santander app. When I used the Android N with SuperSU, Santander has worked and still works today in my old S7. When I upgraded my Note 8 for Android Oreo the application didn't work anymore, not even open. I've tried a couple of 5 custom rom and none worked.
Last week I read the topic about TEZ and removed phone permission to the google phone play services and Santander ran until yesterday, but I lost the root in Magisk and restarted the Note 8 and the Santander didn't open more. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Magisk and Santander and not solved.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've tested the UK app, and all I need to do for it to start is to add it to the Hide list. Nothing else... If I don't, it complains about root and doesn't start. It looks like a very simple root detection.

I got that, all I'm saying is that it's possible to hide root from the app... And that the root detection doesn't seem that sophisticated.
There might be something about your ROM that you're using. Do you pass SafetyNet, and does all checks in Rootbeer Sample return ok if you add it to the Hide list?

-----> Download Terminal Emulator From PlayStore & Write logcat | grep santander > log.txt
-----> Download Logcat Extreme (Or Catlog) From PlayStore
-----> Write adb logcat -d > log.txt For ADB
As For Santander App, Send Its Link On Google PlayStore

I can't get that one to trigger at all... And I can't test much since I'm not a customer.
According to Rootbeer you do have busybox, so maybe it comes with the ROM. Check for that.
And, since the app is asking for phone permissions, have you also added the phone to the Hide list? That works for some of these apps...

If you can pass SafetyNet, clear data for the Play Store and possibly reboot. After that the status should be certified, but it might take a while for it to show.

Did it and now its certificated! Thanks!
Now, only problem is Santander app!

A) For Enabling ADB Debugging On Your Device
HTML:
To use adb with a device connected over USB, you must enable USB debugging in the device system settings, under Developer options.
On Android 4.2 and higher, the Developer options screen is hidden by default. To make it visible, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Return to the previous screen to find Developer options at the bottom.
On some devices, the Developer options screen might be located or named differently.
You can now connect your device with USB. You can verify that your device is connected by executing adb devices from the android_sdk/platform-tools/ directory. If connected, you'll see the device name listed as a "device".

That means that Rootbeer is detecting busybox. All the green check marks mean that that particular sign of your device being rooted was not found.

Have you checked if the ROM includes busybox by default? Check with the developer, or you could just try to run it... In a terminal emulator, just type busybox (it's possible you need to run su first) and see if you get a result.

So yes, the ROM comes with busybox included.
I haven't checked your log (it's no fun reading logs on a phone), so I don't know if there's anything in there about the app triggering because of that. But, it's certainly a possibility
You could try a different ROM that doesn't include busybox. If you then do need busybox, the best option is to install the busybox Magisk module from the Manager Downloads. That won't be detected.

So it is like default Magisk with Magisk Hide on + module MagiskHide Props Config (to set fingerprint)? Or does your module adds something on top of that?
Your module does not help with busybox/xposed as I could understand from you. Am I wrong?

[Guide][A8-12] Banking Apps while being rooted

Hide Root from Apps e.g. Banking AppsNOTICE (24.11.22): Updated threadInfo: I'm sharing my take on how to get S-Pushtan Banking App to work with Magisk, or any other App of your Choice. (Greatly inspired by searching on the internet)
Works for:- Android 8-12
List of apps known to work:- S-Pushtan, Sparkasse, Sundhedskortet, Keytrade Ban
What you need:- Magisk 25.1
- DenylistUnmount Magisk Module | Download on Github or use shamiko module
- Universal Safetynet Fix Magisk Module | Download on Github
- MagiskHidePropsConfig | Download on Github
- Airfrozen App v1.2.8 | Download on Github
- optional: Yasnac (Safetynet Checker) | Google Play
Pre-Requisites:- Have Magisk 25.1 installed
Step by Step Guide:0. Install Magisk via Recovery and reboot
1. Go into settings of your Magisk Manager and
- enable "Hide Magisk Manager" , type in a name you want for the hidden app.
- open the new app and enable in settings: "Zygisk", then in "Configure DenyList"
- Select any app you want hide root from (for example your banking app)
(Make sure that for every App, all processes are also choosen. If you did everything correctly the colored bar should be full)
1.1.1 Disable "Enforce DenyList"
1.2 Install DenyListUnmount or latest Shamiko Module, Universal Safetynet Fix via Magisk Manager and Reboot to activate the modules
Reboot again.
1.2.1 Check that your Safetynet Status Pass both times via Yasnac App
- If you don't pass the Check, install the MagiskHidePropsConfig Module via Magisk Manager and Reboot to activate the module
- Configure your fingerprint to your phones or a Google Pixel's and reboot again -> do Step 1.2.1
2. Install Airfrozen (grant root permission)
2.1 in Airfrozen: Select your renamed Magisk App and your Banking App (example: Sparkasse, Google Pay)
2.1.1 In Airfrozen: Settings->General->Auto freeze
Enable "Freeze on exit" and "Not Freeze foreground"; Set Freeze on locked to 1 minute;
2.1.2 Optional: If you want a open (also unfreeze) your Magisk Manager/ Banking while they are disabled to use them; longpress the apps in airfrozen und create a shortcut for easy use
2.2 Setup your Banking Apps now, while the MagiskManager is disabled and undetectable.
4. Done!
CHECKLIST:- Magisk installed and Zygisk enabled, App is hidden
- Your Banking App is selected in Airfrozen and XPrivacyLua, and MagiskManagers Denylist
- Your Magisk App is selected in Airfrozen
- Remember the usage rules(below)
IMPORTANT RULES FOR USAGE:1. Always freeze the Magisk App before using your banking App! Vice-Versa
2. In the case that it does get detected -> Force Close your Banking App and clear the cache.
This Method should work with most Apps right now that are detecting root
It's a trial and error situation so try your best, also give some feedback for others as to which apps work and which won't.
I hope this will help some people out there.
Stay healthy!
Thank you very much.
I can confirm this ist working with:
S-PushTAN Version: 3.4.0
Magisk Version: 23.0
Airfrozen 1.6.2 (143)
on latest ArrowOS (Android 11)
Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot, this method also works for these two banking apps
Still a very nice and working workaround
Nice Nice, works on my device!

Can't belive its working. Big Thanks!
Thanks working on rooted pixel 6 pro !! S Pushtan from Starfinance is not detecting Magisk ! Thanks for your work
After completed all the steps, app still complain.
One extra step for me is to also delete the "TWRP official app" (which I decide to randomly installed it back when I rooted my phone)
And citibank app can now open.

What magisk Version do you use?
I've installed LineageOS on S8 and the S-ID-Check app complains about a rooted device. Now that Magisk Hide isn't available any more (v24.3), is there any other way to make the banking app work?

Nope. You are only freezing the magisk manager app. The root itself is still in place
I have a up to date guide in the works. Stay tuned.

Not working
I use the Bank Austria App...

How To Guide BYPASS SAFETYNET EASILY

Safetynet can be easily bypassed by :
step 1 : hide magisk
step 2 : turn on zygisk and enforce deny list
step 3 : open configure deny list & apply deny list on google apps | eg: google play services and playstore, etc.., (don't forget to clear cache & data)
step 4 : install riru module
step 5 : restart your phone
step 6 : install universal safety net fix module
step 7 : restart your phone
in newer version of magisk manager, magisk hide functionality is replaced by deny list
download modules from links given below or you can directly download it via files i attached
riru module link : (https://github.com/RikkaApps/Riru/releases)
universal safetynet-fix module link : (https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases)
Small clarification:
The deny list is currently (as of writing this) only available on unofficial Magisk releases. Any official Magisk release after build 23001 will have the deny list rather than MagiskHide.

Yes, rooting this device via stable version is causing bootloop for now but alpha version(706a4922-alpha) is working fine that's why i mentioned deny list
Safety net stops working after few days then i have to flash riru and safety net again and it works 1,2 days then again it stops working, do you have any solution for this?
I cant get get the step 1 : hide magisk option to work.
When I click that option, it asks me for a new package name and it creates a new icon in the app drawer with that name, but it doesn't do anything. the original magisk icon still opens the app.
When i check safetynet in the app, it still says failed.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for the guide. Currently running Derpfest 12 on a OP5T and Magisk 24.
Riru is suspended with zygote activated, whilst SafetyNet fix is suspended when it is not enabled.
In my case GPay works with zygote disabled, thus USNF working.
