Mi Mix 2 Global stock recovery V9.5.4.0.ODEMIFA - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

This is the stock recovery image from Mi Mix 2 Global V9.5.4.0.ODEMIFA
If you are rooted and have TWRP, you will need to unroot, then flash this via Fastboot, then apply the OTA, and then re-flash TWRP and re-root.
Make sure you backup your device prior to flashing.
I accept no responsibility if you brick your device.

stock recovery
Can you explain how to extract stock recovery from global miui rom. I found 3 files named "recovery" in miui rom : recovery-from-boot.p ; recovery-resource.dat and install-recovery.sh .

Tell me why does someone need this ?

Explained in the first post, OTA

If u r rooted, you can download the full rom, boot to twrp, flash rom, reflash twrp and reflash root.
No need to unroot first.

Is Root access without recovery possible?

I found that my moto xt1052 has bootloader unlocking available and im very excited. I like to know if its compulsory to flash recovery to make device rooted. I don't want to install new roms or firmware. Im rooting to control running apps and use some root apps.
I like my phn to be receptive for ota, which isn't possible if i flash custom recovery.
So i want to know if recovery is compulsory to have root status and manage permissions or if i can enjoy root privileged with just unlocking the bootloader.
Thankyou.

After unlocking the bootloader, flash TWRP, root, then flash stock recovery back on the phone and run that way.

hi KidJoe,
how back to stock recovery ?
is it enough to flashing file "recovery.img" by RSD Lite ?
I know rsd lite is made to be more user friendly but I still prefer flashing via fastboot.

RSDLite is overkill to flash just recovery.
Do as @cntryby429 said... use mfastboot to flash recovery. You can use it to flash either TWRP (when rooting) and/or Stock recovery.

Extract the zip and flash the recovery either through TWRP or fastboot. Although I would rather do a factory reset and flash the whole firmware.

help to lock bootloader

My OnePlus 3T is currently rooted unlocked bootloader nd on TWRP recovery
So now I want to move my phone to stock condition pls help
Simplest way would be to just run the Qualcomm restore tool/unbrick tool. This will restore everything back to unrooted and locked bootloader as you've requested.

You could do a factory reset in TWRP and flash the latest OnePlus stock image from https://downloads.oneplus.com
Then reboot, which will restore the stock recovery and re-encrypt your phone (if you've decrypted it). Check that this is so in Settings>Security. Also check that recovery is now stock.
Then you can relock the bootloader from fastboot.

Link to downloading recovery is there along with link to download the ROM, just check the website.
If you flash stock ROM through TWRP, your phone will be automatically encrypted and stock recovery will be installed after reboot from TWRP.

If you flash the full stock image in TWRP and nothing else, then when you reboot the stock recovery will replace TWRP. This is the way I would do it.
You can verify this by booting back into recovery after the phone has booted up on OOS. Note that if your phone was decrypted, then the first boot up will take a while to re-encrypt the phone.
I would not relock the bootloader until you've verified that the phone is encrypted and the stock recovery is installed.

I want to REVERT to MI A2. HELP PLEASE!

My friend initially bought the MI A2. He somehow bricked the device. I revived it by flashing it on MIUI rom. Now I want to use custom rom. but can't install TWRP. the wayne version of TWRP does not boot the recovery. though the jasmine_sprout version boot up the recovery but after zip or img flashing & rebooting to recovery shows chinese recovery. also tried flashing on the partition A and B. but no luck :crying:
Any Expert here can help me out?
N.B: I'm kind of noob, so please write details procedure, Anti Roll Back: 4 device
Use unofficial twrp for jasmine sprout, it works better than official. If u don't want to install twrp u can choose to boot into twrp recovery via fastboot command. Erase all partitions u can. Then reboot into fastboot and back into twrp. This tym flash desired zip without signature varification via twrp from ota,
Via adb sideload, u may sometimes get signature varification error so avoid that and rather use twrp.
If only language is the problem in twrp for u, change the language, if don't understand Chinese language, use translate by taking screenshot from another phone then change language to English and follow the procedure.

Backup stock revovery before installing custom recovery

Hi all.
I have a couple of SM-T813 tablets with Nougat stock firmware.
I want to install Lineage OS on these devices. According to official installation instructions (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gts210vewifi/install) I have to write a custom recovery using heimdal.
I know that with a custom recovery i can backup the rest of partitions before installing Lineage OS, but I want to know if is it posible (and how) to backup stock recovery before overwriting it with custom recovery using heimdail.
How can I backup stock recovery before install custom recovery?
Thank you and regards.

You can pull with adb the recovery partition as .img to your SD card.
Have to know mount point of course.

short application of adb in pulling out your boot or recovery img from your android device

Perhaps you gotta install adb root as well.
But there is no real need to backup stock recovery as it will be revived automatically, when flashing stock ROM.
Just make sure you have the stock ROM downloaded before you start flashing your recovery (multiple part stock is preferred).
