Oreo ROMs causing constant crashes - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Questions & Answers

I've tried both the Lineage OS and Nitrogen OS 8.1.0 ROMs for the phone and I get constant crashes. Damn thing is in my pocket and it just restarts. Most frustratingly however is the fact that 9 times outta 10 it crashes during a call.
Any idea on what could be causing this? I see others on the forums happily using these ROMs, so I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Did you wipe everything before flashing? As a precaution wipe internal storage as well.

Tried that and it was a little more stable thanks. Enough so for me to figure out it only happens when the SIM card is in

Try removing the SIM card, then flashing and booting the ROM? I think I've seen this SIM card issue on the lineage OS forums. Just go to the lineage OS 15.1 thread and search for "SIM card" or something and see.

Hi
I had boot problems with oreo roms. Once I removed SIM card & SD card after flash and before boot, no more problem !

[Q] Sim card problem with CM11

So, I installed the latest CM11 from Maclaw, build 20140408, after finished booting, a pop up shows "You need to refer to the SIM card instructions that came with your phone". My sim card is fine when i tried it with my other phone and my IMEI and baseband are intact.
I tried reflashing and resetting the data but the problem is still there. I even tried the latest carbon rom and the same problem occurred. Then I ODINed my phone back to stock rom and the problem is gone.
Is it just me who's having this problem? Is there any solution to this?

XT1068 suddenly stopped detecting SIM Card (both slots)

My XT1608 stopped detecting SIM cards all of a sudden. The same SIM cards (cropped and official) are working with other devices. It was running the latest build of Lineage OS but reverting back to stock Marshmallow doesn't solve anything.

Mi3 No SIM card issue

Hello, I was using lineage Os latest nightly when I encountered this issue. I wanted d2w. So I flashed Zurion X. Phone rebooted to TWRP. So I flashed recankut kernel. Phone worked. But I noticed that it started showing no sim card. I tried flashing Lineage Os back and nothing. So I flashed MIUI latest global beta via fast boot. No SIM card issue persists.. Now Im beginning to think that the issue is hardware issue.. I dissembled the phone.. But the sim card connectors seems to be OK for naked eye.. MY phones I will is not affected, neither the baseband.. So I'm out of options now. Can someone suggest me a workaround to bring my phone back to life.
Thanks.
Also it seems that I can make emergency calls.. Which means the radio I working

It was my sim card tray.. The lower right coner of the sim tray was broken and it interfered with the sim card identification mechanism. With a new simple card tray my phone is fixed.
If the SIM card tray is damaged (for example, a piece of plastic is chipped off or a metal plate is deformed), this can be the cause of the problem when the Xiaomi smartphone does not see the SIM card.
I had such a situation on my Mi 3. In the service center they could not find the cause of the problem, I found it myself.
I hope this information will help to somebody.

SD Card keeps corrupting (SM-T810)

Hello -
I'm running Android 6.0.1 on a 10" Tab S2 (SM-T810), rooted Samsung ROM (Build MMB29K.T810XXU2CPD9).
I have this recurring issue where my SD card keeps getting corrupted. I was initially using a SanDisk 128GB Ultra card, worked fine for a long time, but kept getting corrupted in the tablet. After reformatting it would work again for a while, and then would corrupt again. Figured it's maybe a faulty SD card. So I bought a Samsung 128GB Evo card. Have the same problem now. It corrupts from time to time.
I use this tablet very infrequently and usually turn it off when I'm done using it. Most of the time when I turn it back on again the card is corrupted. So I thought I'll stop powering it down and just put it in Airplane mode when I'm done, but leave it on standby otherwise. Nope, still corrupted the SD card again.
I'm suspecting it's maybe a problem with the tablet itself, and not the SD cards I've been using. Any suggestions for how I can fix this? Is it worth trying to install a different ROM? Or is there any other suggestion you guys might have?
Thanks.

I have similar issue with tab s3, and first you could try to disscard any rom issue:
Reflash the 6.0.1 stock rom with odin and root again.
Its an opportunity to upgrade to Nougat, in this case reflash stock rom 6.0.1 with odin (do not root) and upgrade to nougat, afther that you can root.
Come back and report the results to help others with similar problems.
Yeah, flashed a stock Nougat rom I pulled off of SamMobile for the Tab S2. Will see how this holds up over the next few days. So far on a reboot it hasn't corrupted the card.
Thanks.
