More info:
As I don't have this device, I only have the XL, I can't do any real testing. I've had people test it though and they say it works like it's supposed to. Here are a couple links from the marlin thread that will probably be useful here.

REMEMBER, VENDOR IMAGE AND GOOGLE APPS ARE INCLUDED SO DON'T FLASH THEM!

Well I wasn't expecting this

Wow that's great.... Going to flash this immediate.
Many thanks.

What a great surprise! Thank you!

Absolutely running so good.
Indeed an awesome work.
Thanks again.

So far so good! Cheers!

Really enjoying this, thanks

So far so good. Ran your ROM back on the N6 and this definitely stacks up. Only thing I see so far is something minor. I noticed today that VoLTE does not appear as an option for me. I am using Project Fi. Anyone else having issues with VoLTE?

Super Mario keeps crashing!

Working pretty flawless to me.

phone restarted while setting up fingerprint scanner but after that its good...
and i was wondering if longpress to skip music and torch is in there?i cannot find it

I had the same issue last night on a clean flash. I got all set up this morning to logcat and decided to restore a different backup from the cloud, and no crash during restore. That backup that didn't work for me was from like 10pm which is unusual compared to most of my backups that occur overnight. Wondering if that is what happened to you too. Currently restoring from cloud now without issues!

Been running the ROM since last night, I did experience a crash during initial setup when adding a 3rd fingerprint. But simply added it later, so as a work-around I would simply setup the fingerprints later.
Otherwise it has been running pretty great. Awesome work!
The only issue I am having is with tethering, both wired and wireless. do not appear to work for me. I am on TMous with a plan which should have it supported. Was wondering if anyone else has tried to tether yet.
The client PC gets an IP address either when connected by wifi or wired, but is unable to get out to the Internet. Trace from the client looks a little weird with first two hops being the gateway(Pixel Phone):
Code:
[[email protected] ~]$ tracepath 8.8.8.8 -n
1?: [LOCALHOST] pmtu 1472
1: 192.168.43.1 7.687ms
1: 192.168.43.1 3.400ms
2: no reply
3: no reply

Routing table looks correct and the phone itself is pingable:

I'm just curious, why do you have SkiaGL as the default hwui renderer if it causes visual glitches and a few weird bugs on 8.1?
An example of one glitch it causes is the folders in Pixel Launcher not overlaying the icons correctly so they clip out of the icon preview.
Another is when dragging down the quick-settings panel the pencil icon (QS tile edit) doesn't fade into position, nor do the quick-toggles, titles and 'No notifications' text when they work fine when SkiaGL is disabled.
I understand that there's a performance gain to be had by switching to SkiaGL but it is a considerable trade-off.
On another note, it seems the brightness slider doesn't render immediately when the toggles are pulled down causing a weird visual glitch where the notifications clip over the quick-settings panel
for a small amount of time.
Other than that, this is a pretty good ROM and gets updates in a timely manner.

I use it because I prefer it. You can switch it if you don't like it. The clipping on the folders goes away a little while after making the first folder and I don't know what you're talking about the brightness slider as I don't get that.

I couldn't figure out a better way to send a video so here's the weird brightness jumping: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8S4Rp0drkf6Kk4X82
I may have not mentioned this, the notification icons animating from somewhere around the center of the status bar: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7YDO5jPh3qUxjA5E2

Hello, I am currently using Pure Nexus and on version 7.1.2. If I want to flash this ROM, do I need to flash the April factory image first or just flash the boot image as instructed in the FAQ and then the ROM is sufficient? I appreciate your help.

Great rom so far.
Varun posted the boot.img to fix the deepsleep issues. Can I flash the same to this rom or it's better for me to wait for the next update.
Thank you for the rom. I love Pure Nexus.

Important:flash beansgapps instand off opengapps
Holy guacamole this came out of nowhere. I finally, with this ROM, feel like our phone is being acknowledged by the modding community and taken seriously. Thanks for this, can't wait to try it.
Backing up RR now, getting ready to flash PN!
This was my favorite on my Nexus devices, can't wait to give it a try on my A7!
WiFi Calling?
So VoLTE is mentioned. Any possibility of WiFi Calling? Always loved Pure Nexus on my Nexus 6, hoping for WiFi Calling on a custom rom at some point. Thank you.
Flashed it, ran it for about 20 minutes.... It's a good start, but way too much lag for a daily-driver.
The system will lag 3-5 seconds, so you're not sure you clicked the screen and you touch it a few more times, then it catches up and will make all those "touches" and put you somewhere you don't know how you got there? Animations will freeze up too (like the spinning circle) and the pull-down.
Also, there is no camera on this ROM...There is a gallery, but no camera (but a camera icon shows up). I downloaded Google Camera, snapped a couple pics and it seems to work fine (didn't test out video or panorama).
I also didn't see SU or Magisk in the app drawer or settings, so I'm not sure if you need to flash SU or download the Magisk manager from the playstore?
It's a good start and I'm happy to see this here, as soon as the lag is gone, I will give it another try......Would love to make this my daily driver.

I am not feeling the lag. It's just as fast as any other ROM.

I give my best to fix all and in the next update i add my New kernel with alot off new feats i feel no lags by me but i hope it is kernel related and ota support comes toostay tuned
PS:for the camera flash beansgapps in this is snap included but i add it to source
Flashed,no lag here. Thanks for the build.
So do we call our device The Axon 7p now?
This is fantastic news. Downloading now.
Gonna try again.. I did flash fonts and Dolby Atmos (that worked with RR) at the same time. I did flash Beans Gapps, listed in OP, but no camera......But might have been some issues with Dolby......So, I'm flashing just the ROM and Gapps - Round #2, booting up now.
Still seeing lag on the initial setup, taking a few seconds to recognize the keyboard needs to pop up and to recognize I have hit "next".... I'll see how it goes after it's all booted up.
[EDIT]
I skiped the restore of old apps, went straight into the OS..... Still having terrible lag.
I'm using a A2017U, if that makes any difference?
[EDIT #2]
Tried Radioactive kernel, noticed no difference in the lag for me

Can confirm. Have slight lag when open keyboard for example. Maybe cause of the G-Model?
Edit:Nevermind....same probs on U Model see above
Edit2: Only have probs on that rom. No probs on AICP or RR or NucleaRom.

Because they are los base. Try du or another AOSP base
well i edited the screen scale to "small" in display options. think its little smoother now. dont know if the screen scale is the problem or something else

I had lag on Bliss ... Probably a AOSP deal... Screen display small still has lag for me (on Bliss)...
Edit: No lag on XenonHD which is also AOSP based I think...
So I played with this ROM today. This is definitely on the road to becoming a daily driver. I've always enjoyed the Pure Nexus Rom on my 6p.
Camera works for me. Even recorded video with open camera.
Questions: Is Kernel automatically set to permissive? I tried setenforce 1 with terminal and it's still on permissive. Even after reboot. I personally prefer enforcing for security purposes.
There's some UI lag, when I attempt to go into text fields, Google keyboard is slow to open. Could be Google keyboards fault, not the ROM itself.
Bouncing in and out of apps is a little bumpy as well. Little hiccups here and there..
Let's talk about what works though!
Camera, gps navigation, phone, text, didn't test volte,! Should have!!, speakers (They sound mono, but no distortion), and it's definitely not using the Qualcomm dac for media playback (hooray!!)
Overall I think this was a knockout first release. I look forward to the next build!
Maintainer of pure nexus for oneplus 3 said he was able to minimize a lot of the lag in his build. He's using Sultan's kernel source, but maybe there's some other commits @marchetto96 would kindly share?

1.Extremely smooth
2. Battery seems to be good (not even single percent down since last 30 mins of use)
3. Thanks for quicker reboot
4. No fcs till now
5. Better than 7.1.1
6. Dnt know about VOLTE as m.not using jio anymore ?
7. Internet speed is like rocket better than other roms
8. Rest will let know after an use of 2days

the true is, ALMOST ALL rom builders for max have this issue.
only lineage and RR have the regularly supporting so far. AICP and slim7 have very very rare updates for max specific.
aggarwalace still keeps working for max, from this point, he is very appreciated.

Don't know, but it would be nice if every new rom showing up and especially from this "dev" here has followup support... Don't you think?

Can't confirm date... I have to consult some other devs regarding this... Use other rom as of now.
By the way how was overall experience (apart from that ringtone issue). This was my first build of pure nexus so I want proper review.

I liked it it is like Pixel phone,
But there is issue With Wi-Fi and network: when i connected to Wi-Fi it is works fine for 1-3 mins after a while it is Automatically Disconnect and reconnect automatically (Repeated repeatedly) and when I open play store it is not show images (not full loaded) and happens with chrome too
Thank you hope you will fix it

No need to add Gapps. there are many editions - from pico to full, and they contain different apps set. Including gapps into ROM will make it impossible to choose which gapps to have.

i flashed it, and wifi 5ghz not stable...wifi is always disconect reconect . but on lineageos 7.1.2 is stable
Finally, the thread is here.
I'm using this rom from the last few days and it's super smooth and battery life is great.
No idea what magic the developer did with the Qualcomm framework but I've never experienced that smoothness in any other roms.
It does perform well in benchmarks too ( though I don't care for benchmarks) but few might still be interested in that. I've attached geekbench score on stock kernel.
I haven't found any bugs. I clean flashed the rom with thestrix firmware. No wifi, camera or any others bugs for me. The rom is not pre rooted. Magisk passes safetynet and the viper4android module is also working great.

I don't have 5ghz wifi. So I can't check.
Finally!!!
