So a marshmellow rom could be possible?
I think y6 is not good for Android 7 too heavy for that specs, a version with Android 6 on board could be really welcome for the best experience

What is your telegram group? I will be glad to join.If you mean that one in guides section it says link is invalid. I can create a group if there isn't one.
It would be possible. But Its going to need heavy debloating to minimize ram usage. As you can see there is no port of other devices. Roms out there are based on lineage. This is no fault of dear developers. You should consider the fact that as you know y6 is weak for handling higher androids and manufacturer roms like EMUI and MIUI. But we can make it possible by minimizing resource usage

Ies it is only my opinion
All lineage attempt on board of y6 with 1 GB ram and that cpu, can't give a smooth experience than Android stock 5 or 6 that no need so much ram as Nougat or Oreo .
Mm is however a step ahead from lollipop.
Every working rom based on Android 6 for me, are appreciated.

Cm 13 is already build for y6, just some bugs need to be fixed
He said he is porting, not building.

Its not only about resource usage, you are petty wrong.
I seen devices with hardware less powerful than y6 running nougat wihout a lot of optimisations, you first need to get the ROM working. And after that think about any optimisations.

hi there! are u still working on this or what ? :/

Cyanogen OS/MOD 13 Discussion

Friends,
The work on Cyanogen OS/MOD 12.1 seems to be stopped.
Developers are working hard on Cyanogen OS/MOD 13.
So lets discuss about Cyanogen OS/MOD 13.
Add your suggestions, which we want in Cyanogen OS/MOD 13.
www .cmxlog. com/12.1/ham
www .cmxlog. com/13/ham
Why there are no changelogs ? last 2 Nigthlys came without any information.
Because developers are moved towards canogenmod 13
Hope next week we get CM13 Nightly`s on our devices
I think I will never buy again a Cyanogen OS phone. Cyanogen OS with MS crap and lame updates. Old S3 get CM13, ZUK Z1 still not get CyanogenMod 13 :/
Note 5 get Android 6, S6 get it and even Huawei roll Android 6 out... Huawei xD

The s3 has long been in the market, others (s6, etc) cost more than double

Don't worry. As long as I and JoaoPaulo are around you guys will have the latest Android versions.
Just get our unofficial CM13 build.
It has everything but the fingerprint reader working and even that one is only a matter of time until we get it working.

LOL! Typical for people like you. Go ahead, don't buy. Would you rather like to get constant updates with tons of bugs, or just stable and working OS.
And watch your language here.
Also Huawei is one of the greatest players on the market... You obiviously do not know a thing and all you do is rage on xda.
(Huawei made some ofNEXUS devices also. Would Google let Nexus line to someone stupid?)
Maybe it's your first Cyanogen OS phone but I use CM already for 5 years (CyanogenMod). Huawei got 200 devices, Cyanogen 4-5 and no-cyanogen-phones get CM13 Cyanogen is just clean Android, nothing special like MIUI with ton of tools.
If you can't wait for updates just start building for yourself? So do I. That's one of the opportunities you have with our Zuk Z1. At least everything is working as it should with Cyanogen Mod on it. I had a lot of phones in the past which had Cyanogen Mod but a lot of features wasn't working anymore.

CyanogenMod and CyanogenOS aren't same.
Also, they have scheduled it way before. There was already information when Cyanogen OS 13.1 is coming to this phone before you could buy it. So please just be careful and don't whine about update. Everyone would rather like good and stable update over some quick and buggy update. And only most of premium devices are getting update now , not this price range.

100% True.
To that guy that was talking without knowing anything:
CM13 was scheduled for ZUK Z1 way before i get it, and i get this device like one month ago, but they are working on it offline for sure. They prefer to get a fully working ROM to a device than give it a full buggy one. Me and @MrColdbird just could not wait more until they release their source, and i came from a nexus device (pretty sure you know that i downgraded from android 6.0 to 5.1.1 when swap devices), and we decided to work on 6.0 to give users an early experience of CM13, because we can't handle 5.1.1 anymore.
We made a almost full bringup of 6.0 devtree and kernel, and we made a port from a completely different CAF branch, in about 15 days, imagine in what time can CM do it, as they are maintaining this device. Even CM for Nexus Line and OPO (their big son), have bugs on SystemUI and other things, do you think they will even consider about making builds to another phones?
I think almost android users prefer a 100% working device with less features, than a device with newest Software and filled you bugs.
So are u still arguing?
If you don't like CM devices, just don't SPAM our threads like you have reasons to do so.
Go SPAM your device thread, and leave us alone.

I'm new to this Cyanogen/CM and don't know how Cyanogen updates their phones, but from their page at /support it doesn't look like any of their phones got version marshmallow. Are they reliable with updates? I'm wondering how long will Z1 be supported.
we will wait
i see right now all waiting 6.0 and cm 13
me too and im one from those dont know any thing about flashing but i thank u guys for ur work
and i wait the 6.0 for my zuk

its very good
waiting ur updates soon as possible
If you are fine without a fingerprint reader for now then you can just run the unofficial CM13. JoaoPaulo will implement the fingerprint reader later in January.
Hey, I really would like to test your CM13 build. You wrote, that it is important to backup the persist-partition, if we want to change back to CM12.1. Can I do this with the 'partition backup & restore' app? And just restore the perisist partition after reflashing CM12.1? Or is it included, when I make nandroid-backup via TWRP? Thank you very much!

You can back it up in a root terminal via the following command.
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/persist of=/sdcard/persist.img
And no, it's not part of a nandroid backup. But yes, any mean of backing up and restoring partitions should (theoretically) work.
Although I'm not entirely sure that restoring the partition in a running Android OS is possible as the partition might be mounted at the time. Restoring it via fastboot or TWRP will work though.

It will be based on Stock + Miui.
@NAViDArt asked me some months ago with PM trying to release ROM for Miui and opened this Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/development/miui-huawei-p8-t3691953
I find and said, it's a good idea and I will try to do that.
I thought I get time with the beginning of the new year.
But things not always coming as planned.
I had a lot of stress in regular job. I released a Rom for the P9. With the beginning of the new year I got the information that I will loose my job because our Post shop will be closed at end of March together with another.
So, at the moment I have a lot of things to coordinate:
Searching for new Job - working in the Shop until it get closed (inventory etc..) - finishing my new Stock based Roms for P8, for P9, for Mate9 - family..
I told @NAViDArt about this changed situation, but he ignored it - because he can't wait until Miui for P8 is coming
Without asking me, he opened this Thread here and told you: Stable release will coming soon.
But I tell you - I will try to make this port for the P8 - but it comes soon it is released.
And this could be need perhaps some months! We will see
Thanks for understanding

But the next Rom is MagicArrow v3, based on Stock b399.
It will come soon.
And on same Base I am working on Miui Port. But this is a big project.
And I have to manage my life in the meantime.
I and nobody here can live from developing Roms.
Only a few very nice users make sometimes a symbolic donation.
So I have doing Job and everything as everybody else which isn't rich and haven't the time to sit the whole day on PC
@Tecalote: Take your time, family first! Good luck for applying for a new job. THX.

Okay, sounds fair enough. The thing is that you'll have to flash ROMs on your own to check what is better for you.
I'll recommend you to open ROM section of Redmi 4X and and in new tab open YouTube and check and compare what suits for you because everyone has different choices and usage.
For me this ROM works great in terms of battery backup, performance and features (which is important to me)
Oreo based...
Resurrection Remix
dot OS
Havoc OS (ignore final build it has random reboot issue)
Pie based...
Arrow OS.
Havoc OS(using currently and it has good battery backup)
crDroid
Waiting for dot OS
The rom that u have named above are very customized i want a stock like experience rom .......and whats ur thought about lineage os as compared to above roms?

Okay, go for Arrow OS then it has very limited customisation and it is close to stock Android You can check its UI and review on YouTube.
I haven't tried lineage OS (both Oreo and Pie) I like feature full of ROM which is can customize the way I want so I can't say anything about lineage OS but it you can check its thread for more details and it's stability, battery backup and bugs related stuff.

I don't get what you want exactly?
Custom roms are usually based on lineage OS and they get modified further by different rom developers and rom community.
There's currently no official Android pie based lineage OS available as I am writing this comment, however there's lineage Oreo ROM available which is nightly build.
If you only want to flash lineage OS then flash it. Pie ROM unofficially available flash it if you want to. They do get updated once developers avails it.
Also I did not get why are you sharing this stuff here, I think it's irrelevant.
There's also many other roms gives ota's and IMO it doesn't matter much if it's ota's or not. One can flash it manually. Only benefit is we get to know new update is available.
Wait for lineage OS pie official or flash Oreo based official lineage OS.
Seriously decide first what you want, I've given much of my time I think it won't be possible for me to do.

You'll find several custom roms official ones and unofficial ones.
Official ones are supported by its rom community and developers here help each other to build builds. you'll often see in credits that several rom community and developers helped to build it.
Unofficial ones are those builds which individual developer(s) built it on their own time they might have taken help from other developers (individual or from community)
XDA is most trusted among android enthusiast website. i can't say anything about other websites.
Custom roms needs to uploaded on their own website or some other cloud storage such as Gdrive, androidfilehost, sourceforge. usually this are download pages you'll be directed to.
If there is any other community or website i can't say anything about it.
Your discretion is advised in such cases.
For your information i've never had any issues with links shared on xda.
it is hard work from developers and community which avails custom rom to us which i appreciate and same goes to XDA.
If any case you are skeptical do not proceed, but it is better than that Xiaomi's MIUI which where they clearly said we will use user data and process it and data will send to their servers.

Yes, no problem but do explain briefly your issue if there's any.

Question Best android 13 rom?

Hey guys I’m thinking of flashing a android 13 custom Rom long term. Which one is the best ?
Android 13?, Do you mean Miui 13?, if A13 then i dont think many have installed them as theres only a couple available, very early days as yet, if you search through questions im sure someone else asked about A13 roms and testing them.
Try Project Elixir 3.0 or EvoX 7.1
I like crdroid

Up to now crDroid is running under Android 12 and not yet under Android 13.
first, you have to decide between aosp or miui based ROMs
EvoX 7.1 is pretty cool
For me I prefer Project Elixir
It is more stable than Evox and better battery life

Too bad PE 3.0 lacks some of the Essence features

I agree with You but PE 3.0 is still a beta version.
If you are missing features the best you can do is to inform the developer.

PE 3.1 is on the way, most of the Essence features are back, so we gotta wait for a stable build

Thank You for this information.
Never understand why people are so keen to flash a A13 rom that's not anywhere stable at the moment as much as Devs say it is stable. Is it just for the sake of having the lastest Android version but dealing with bugs everyday.
cDroid 12.1
PixelOs 12.1
CherishOs 12.1
Everything else will give you endless headaches and 3 hours of reconfiguring your phone after you realise that a A13 build is a POS right now.

not true, i am currently using cherishOS 4.0.5 android 13 now few days. Didn't found any major bug, rom running smooth as pixelOS a12. Normal stuff like, playing normal games, voice calling, social media and watching videos no issues even the battery backup is also good. Devs put lot of efforts for us. A13 cherishOS is a great rom to be used as daily driver. thanks i hope this helps for someone.

It's relative, devs test roms on us for their learning and we sometimes like what we get. What I've observed over 7 years of using customs roms is that devs are less interested in bringing a ROM development to real stability, what has become important is "let's be first" hence this rush to port roms to the newest android version. Except for cDroid every ROM for RN10 Pro is a pixel port there's no real bespoke elements. I guess unlimited photo storage is the thing people want here. That's my take.

i do not know about others. I am also using custom roms and phone software customization for more than 11 years. On who else other then a user devs will test there rom for early testing of bugs or any other issue, (apple also releases several beta version to user's to test there ios (6-7 beta) and then release the final build to public). not all roms are stable that i agree. there are specific roms like for gaming for battery for overall stability. It's user choice to test roms or listen to other user's review and then install rom according to there needs. many mobile companies just launch phone and then do not provide proper software update support, like micromax, xiaomi, redmi, samsung(before) etc.. ASOP custom rom extends the life of a phone(like poco f1, redmi k20 pro, redmi note 5 pro and many many others). Whatever the reason is but in the end user's are getting more without any hard work and yes devs will also think about themselves too and they deserves it. Devs have to meet the user's demand so i think yeah they rush to port to latest android version and also devs have a year to stable the rom for us before another android version google releases. not even google's own android 13 is bug free, it has many many bugs which user's face in there costly pixel devices. so yeah these bugs will also come to custom roms.

I only want a vanilla Android ROM, as I hate MIUI, so I flashed PixelOS for the moment. Working good for me

Work definitely goes into any ROM. I will say this, ANY ROM here is better than stock MIUI and that's a fact

Question What's the most stable and least problematic custom ROM for SPES?

HI all, what do y'all think is the most stable and least problematic among all the custom ROMs for SPES? I'd like to know 'coz I'm tired of backing up my files and switching to other ROMs when there's something wrong with my current ROM, thanks!
In my case it is Evolution X (both Android 12 and Android 13) for a simple reason:
It is one of the few ROMs that has solved a bug with the Goodix fingerprint readers, which is that it does not let the screen turn off correctly, since it takes the FP as a button. Well, I know that Pixel Experience also solved it but I had a bad experience with that ROM.
Used Pixel Experience for 2 months. It's smooth
Been using Evolution X for a week, my only complaints are some bugs like fingerprint not working until I unlock the phone on some instances
Planning to move to CrDroid sometime next week tho, idk I'd recommend use them all and decide what you should use

Well, then back to official MIUI I suggest. Nobody can assess what "something wrong" means to you. Rom development is an ongoing process, bugs happen. For some a (slightly) lower sot is "wrong" for others the gaming performance is "wrong". I find this kind of questions difficult since more people want just ready to use roms without the more or less hassle that may come with software in development from and for the community and developed by learning hobby developers, enthusiasts or semi professionals or as often seen tech students. This is not how this all here works. I'm using pa sapphire beta for weeks now, which definitely has its pros and cons (for example). But I'm cool with it since it's stable in case of random reboots and its overall performance (nearly no sudden performance drops in general usage). Where for others the small hiccups it has are unacceptable I'm clearly happy with it (until another interesting rom or update comes up ). Long story short, it depends on what "something wrong" means individually since there are several stable and 'well performing' projects out there. Cheers
Till now the most stable rom is undoubtedly crDroid 8.8 or 8.9 Android 12... You should give a try

I actually was on cdDroid since 8.7 but then 8.9 has the goodix bug, which made the phone incredibly annoying to use, so I tried Evolution X on Android 13 and its stable, for now, but I'm probably gonna get back to crDroid when the goodix bug will be fixed.

Too bad,
I'm using crDroid 8.9 (Android 12) right now and I would say it's far the most stable ROM i have used on this phone
I tried all of them from XDA and out of XDA, from the lot of available ROMs, the simpler, less customizable seems to run smoother than all the rest, PixelOS v13 takes the credit. I personally prefer something more customizable, and the better for that is AncientOS-Shield, of course, it could have its cons, as the battery consumption within other things, so, finally, you'll find that you should give it a try in your own, the experience from others also can help you, to decide, not to use it, but to try it (or not)

Thank you for this information, Subway.
Unfortunately, I'm struggling to search and find either of the ROMs you mention specifically for spes or spesn, which is a pity because I was hoping to take a look at PixelOS.
Would you be able to help with a link please?
EDIT: I found PixelOS, but it is unofficial and from July 22

The sites where Usually I take a look are: SourceForge, AFH and PlingOS (it stores in SF anyway).
Here is: https://sourceforge.net/projects/spes-roms/files/PixelOS/
Plus, these are the ones, I didn't try it yet, from the "Pixel-ish" line https://download.pixelexperience.org/spes
For Me PPUI 4.8. Most Stable & Simple.
