Easy Projection - Excel - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

So looking over at the P10 forum and THIS thread in particular there doesn't seem to be an issue with using Excel under Easy Projection mode. Yet when I'm attempting to use on my P20 it's telling me I need a 365 subscription to edit and save, I assume it's detecting some kind of desktop mode as it doesn't ask for this when using direct on phone screen.

Two Things...Both longshots

1) Can someone produce some Javascript which adds xda-developer's search engine to Firefox's pull down list of search engines.
Javascript gurus, go here for help
http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:...fox&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=9&client=firefox-a
2) Is there any proxy server software for PocketPC...It'd be great to be able to view barred websites on my work PC and impress my work mates...NO! I don't mean Porno  and no I cannot use my phone as a GPRS modem because of the severe user profile restrictions my work are running in Windows XP.
Thanks...By the way, the phone is a Universal.
Search plugin
Here's a firefox search plugin I knocked up. I don't really use firefox so no use to me!
Note: due to the fact that xda forums uses "post" instead of "get" form submission, and firefox search plugins don't currently support "post" it defaults to only returning results in "post" form, not "topic", PITA and not my limitation, but the browser's. There may be a way around it, but it's also a PITA
Unzip the attached files and drop into your firefox \searchplugins\ subfolder.

You're a legend vijay...Nice one
Now can anyone help with the proxy server software.....I would like to get a proxy server running off my Universal.

Remote Web Workplace - Requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Controls?!?!?!?

Hi Guys,
I just got Remote Web Workplace up and running on my companies small business server and when I try to access it on my Tilt in I.E. mobile I get a scripting alert stating,
"This portion of the Remote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Control. Your browser's security settings may be preventing you from downloading ActiveX controls. Adjust these settings and try again."
I can't find any settings in IE mobile that will allow for the download and installation of ActiveX controls. Also, the small amount of information I can find on this leads me to believe that this ActiveX control is a .cab file hiding from me somewhere that can be installed manually? I tried installing "tswebsetup" from the Microsoft website but that didn't work. It isn't a windows mobile file. I literally can't find a stitch on information regarding installing this (or any) Activex controls on my WinMo 6 phone. The nutty thing is that I saw a Windows Mobile 5 phone access it just fine. The dude who owned the phone had no idea why it was working on his and not mine. I hope someone can help me...I'm so close to being truly mobile!
Thanks for any help in advance!

Tytn II - Internet browser has old version of Flash Player?

Hi
There are some Internet pages that Tytn II is disable to open and make the intended operation; this is, in some Internet pages, we pick an option in the page which will cause to open a small pop down menu with more some options and again we pick an option inside this window, that result in opening the intended final option. This kind of pages are commom e.g. to access your bank account to make payments, current account balance, etc.
With the internal Internet browser, this operation is impossible. It seems that the Internet browser has only Flash Player 7 and it's necessary Flash Player 9 which doesn't existe for Pocket PC. However it seems there is to Symbian.
Indeed, Nokia N95 and N80 operate that type of Internet pages perfectly.
Anybody knows how to solve this problem using Tytn II ?
Thank you all very much for your help.
Cribeiro
Yeah, lots of flash pages won't load properly. Web browsing within WM can be really annoying because of that kind of limitation.

PIE on Android?

For those of you who haven't fallen of your chair reading the title ....
What I'm trying to do is use LogMeIn on an Android phone, have tried the native browser, Opera and Steel, all let me log into the the remote PC but on connection a blank screen is displayed. I have read that you can switch to html to view but I havent got this to work. Having used LMI with html from a PC, I found it very slow, so I would prefer to avoid this route. What does PIE have that Android browsers are missing? Is it ActiveX or Java?
I ask just so that I keep an eye out for a suitable android browser when released. Apparently LMI are working on an app for the iphone and possibly Android but an interim solution would be great.
Cheers
I was wondering the same thing. I use remotely anywhere and it has a nice activeX control which is way faster than Java or html.

[Q] Activate javascript in IE10 mobile?

Nokia Lumia 920
I am having a problem with a mobile version of one website on my Windows Phone: The home page loads and displays correctly, but when you touch a link, a "server or DNS cannot be found" - error is shown. However, after hitting "refresh", the page addressed by the link is displayed fine. This is very annoying, so I reported that behavior to the web master of the site.
The suggested solutions that came in response were two:
- allow cookies all the time (I changed that setting, but it did not fix the issue)
- make sure that java scripting is enabled in the Internet Explorer
While in the regular version of IE you can adjust this setting easily through the respective menu, I couldn't find any option in the Windows Phone system or in the options of IE mobile to adjust java scripting.
Questions:
1. Can these settings be changed at all?
2. What are the java script settings in IE mobile by default?
Many thanks
Joerg
First of all, "JavaScript" - one word - is the language commonly used in websites. Java (which is not scripted, although in old versions it was interpreted much the way scripts are) is occasionally also used on the web, but very rarely.
Windows Phone supports JavaScript, and this support cannot be turned off in the browser to the best of my knowledge. Apps can turn it off within their internal WebView controls, but in IE it is always on.
Possibly a silly suggestion, but have you tried rebooting the phone? After that, my next suggestion would be trying the mobile site in IE10 on the desktop, probably using the Developer Tools to spoof the WP8 IE10 user agent string.

Yes, I tried rebooting - to no avail. Opening the site in IE10 on the desktop does not work, because it automatically detects the browser and switches to the regular (instead of the mobile) site.
Meanwhile, I have encountered the same issue with more mobile sites: clicking on links causes an error. This error does not occurr when you open the site e.g. in Safari on an Ipad.

I take it you're not overly familiar with how web browsers (and servers) work. I can try figuring out what the problem is if you let us know what the problematic site is, though.
Hello guys ... I dont know if this is the place to post my problem but its the only one that is close to what I have as an issue... So .. I have a problem with some active buttons in some sites, when I log in the site there are little active buttons on the top of the page ( account, community, forum, etc. ) so when I try to click on those buttons the phone ( lumia 920 ) just selects the text and gives me the option to copy it. I have few android devices and there is no such issue with them, I dont know if this is connected with the java script or flash or what ever ... I just need some help if there is a fix for this. THX in advance and have a happy new year :good::good::good:
If possible, tap off the text but still on the button (zoom in if you need to). You could also try tapping more quickly, or alternatively tap-and-hold and see if it offers you the context menu for links.
