Vodafone System Update Fail - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Anyway to disable it entirely without affecting Huawei System updates?
It keeps popping up in notifications but fails to install.
I've tried deleting cache and data of System Update to no avail.

Contact Vodaphone support... you're paying them, so why put effort in to resolving it yourself!

[Q] Forced closes - 2

Android.process.media has stopped on boot up and also a similar message when trying to get into the cyanogenmod settings. I also noticed that wiping the system, data and cache did not truly erase all the original files and settings from the stock ROM. It connects to my wireless router without prompting for a password and also had my previous wallpaper, which I have since changed in case the file was too large and causing a problem. When I start up I have the following running automatically: Market process and service, Google services both a process and service, CMStats both a process and a service and Android Keyboard both a process and service. Is that correct? Who else is having these issues? BTW, I have 309MB of RAM free.
Tried this with the last stable CM, and nightly builds 85, 86 & 87. Same issues with all. Went into application data and cleared the cache. Cleared the cache isn the market app. Tried to reset permissions as well.
At the moment, I do not have an immediate for the CM settings, but I did install the overclocking file so I would like to try it at some point.
Also, I heard someone resolved the 1st FC by updating the market, but I can't see a way to do that other than reinstall, which I did.
Wiping the data doesn't delete original (stock) apps and settings from the ROM. It only erases and resets any apps or settings you've made personally. Sounds like you have all the correct services running at startup. I'm not really sure what's causing the FC issue. Do you have the newest version of Google Apps?
Have you tried fixing permissions via terminal emulator?

com.android.phone stopped & missing text messaging

Ok so after attempting replace the AT&T contacts app I finally succeeded, but now my phone doesn't work and I recently lost text messaging.
I downloaded the apk files from this thread then placed them - Contacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk, Phone.apk, PhoneConfig.apk and associated .odex - in my /system/app folder. I then restarted the phone several times and cleared the Dalvik cache using the SystemCleaner app.
As it stands right now, placing my SIM card in the phone and having it in anything other than airplane mode, I get the error com.android.phone stopped. I can dial a number without the SIM card in but it fails because I'm not connected to my carriers network.
Using Titanium Backup & Restore app, I notice that com.android.providers.telephony isn't installed. I also notice com.motorola.messaging isn't installed. These may suggest why things aren't working.
My phone has been rooted and has an unlocked bootloader. It has the stock ROM and I'd like to keep it if possible. I just want to fix these issues and have my phone back the way it was before all these issues started. Also I'd like to recover my previous text messages if possible.
Any help in addressing this issue would be great.
clear cache for phone and contact...use either tibu or go to apps, and clear cache and data...

Ok so I used Titanium Backup to Wipe Data for Contacts and Phone, powered off the phone, then powered it back on, then inserted my SIM. I got the same message.
If the process for clearing the cache is something else a brief explanation would be welcomed.
By the way ai6908, thanks for taking the time to respond to this thread.
it should have worked...go to CWM and wipe cache and davlik after you wipe data...did you wipe contact storage?
This is why you backup. All you needed to remove art contacts was root uninstaller

Ended up reinstalling the stock ROM and uninstalling most of the AT&T apps. I didn't bother attempting to replace the Contact app with the stock android version.

[Q] Insufficient Storage, Whatsapp

Didn't know where to post this, it seems a problem online but I cannot narrow down a solution that isn't for a specific device.
HTC One International version, running Android 4.3 Elegancia 13
Everytime I try to install the Whatsapp application, it states "insufficient storage" when I do have about 4gb of storage left.
It happened when I tried to update the application, so I uninstalled and the same error popped up.
Any ideas on fixing? I cleared the cache on Google Play Services, and data but that just screwed up Android Device Manager...
Thanks guys
PS: I have contacted Whatsapp, they're useless.
find & delete .odex whatsapp file
or try reflashing your ROM

Problems downloading since Oreo update

Hoping someone can help with an issue I've noticed since upgrading to 8.0. When trying to download a file from Google Drive or any other app that attempts to place it in the Downloads folder nothing will happen. After around 5 minutes Google Drive will give me a connection failed notification, other apps will just fail silently. So far I've tried: clearing cache and data for download manager, deleting and recreating the downloads folder and even a full factory reset. After resetting things seemed to work as normal for a few hours but eventually - same old problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had same issue. Some apps acting funny with Oreo. I just downgraded Google drive and problem gone.
Update: Figured out that the issue is using a VPN. Used the same setup on 7.0 with no issues but for some reason on Oreo some apps don't play nice with certain adblock apps that use local VPN's.

How to delete download system update

My wife and I are hoping a root will eventually come out for this phone, so not taking system updates. We disabled the auto install of system updates in Dev Options, and on mine I disabled auto download in the system updater. on hers however, I forgot to disable the auto download of system updates. Is there any way to delete the data so it will stop bugging her? Can't clear the data of the system updater app.

You will have to factory reset. That's the only way without root.
She's gonna kill me after all the time she's spent setting up the phone, lol
