Hi, was wondering if there is a way I can sync my S Note files with my Nextcloud server rather than with Samsung?

S note creates a folder called s note data or something like that... you would have to copy those files to your cloud.

Which app are you referring too? The older S Note or Samsung Notes that comes on the Note 8? I know you stated S Note but if you canxt see the folder..... With S Note the folder is in internal storage & you can easily view it. With Samsung Notes, you need root to access the save folder.

Yeah, with Samsung Notes the files are stored in the data partition. Earlier I said you need root access but if you are not rooted, come to think of it some file explorers will allow you to view & possibly copy the files, I'm not sure. Just can't make any changes without root.
This is the location:
/data/data/com.samsung.android.app.notes/files/document

yeah you can delete them. Their "just" caching to make some things faster..
if you want to be sure that nothing bad happens after deleting them copy them to another folder. You can move them back later if you want
For me its a 0 byte file so its probably only using the file name to store the last used cache index value. I've seen many in the past and those must have remained due to crashes/unexpected reboots.

camera zoom fx, where is apk?

goings nuts. dug google for an hour, run search with root explorer, dug around on xda, turned phone upside down - but no luck. its not in data/app, system/app, cache/download, sdcard/download, to name some. its silly that single apk could be buried god knows where on android.
really run out of ideas where to search. any suggestions? thanks.
Probably in /sdcard/.android_secure then.
Check if it's installed on the sdcard in the program manager. If it is you can move it back to phone storage, which *will* be in /data/app.

nice suggestions - thanks trym!
but no. it's not in .android_secure and it's not installled on sd. should be in data/app but no.
Are you sure you're looking for the right name? Remember, the filenames in /data/app need not even resemble the name of the app.
However, should be easy to find anyway.
Uninstall the app.
List the contents of data/app
Install it
List contents again and find the extra filename.

sure, i'm not quite certain what string to look for aside of obvious "zoom" or similar. however, when listing /app directories, the root browser displays the app icons so it's not hard to identify what's what but i just cannot locate it anyway. but thanks for effort!
Turns out I'd actually bought this app, sorry for not remembering. Installed it, mine is named "slide.cameraZoom-1.apk"

i also bought it, but it wasn't in data/app.
anyway, status report: after last update from play store day ago it appeared in data/app under upper mentioned name. copied apk finally. where it was before the update remains a mystery.
Dont know whether its a nice suggestion or not
But if u r a root user dn u can download root app delete from market and in that just click on the app it will show u the destination of the apk.

[Q] streak 7 unable to delete files

I am unable to delete videos from internal tablet storage. If i delete any file, it says file is successfully deleted. Also, it will not be visible after delete. but as soon as I power off and power it on again, all deleted files comes back. it seems it is automatically restored. I have used file explorer to view videos folder then used operation option and then clicked delete option. I have also connected my dell streak 7 to computer and tried deleting file. but behavior is same. What shall I do? any help is appreciated.

Beg Dell to repair your device.
How does one get in to this mode? My buddies is doing this as well and I'm trying to fix it for him.

you must be looking at a wrong folder.
go to root folder of your device (where system, sys, etc, sdcard, data, storage and other system folders are) and check there.
edit:
actually, you aren't rooted, that's your problem. root, go to data/media/0/dcim. the photos should be there i think.

give it a try, but i doubt it will work. sorry :<
at least from now on, use the new way to backup. use a cloud backup app. for example for pictures i prefer myshoebox. u can do the same for contacts and everything. that way even if u go to another phone and log in to your cloud, you will always have your apps, your photos , your music , your contacts , everything.
If there is anything to save left ,then best chance is hexamob recovery on play store, but doubt it will find anything besides thumbnails.

Try using recuva sw, it helped me once, but i think files have to be deleted to work and not overwritten or formatted
But since i'm not sure you can give it a try, not much damage to be done

Dex on PC for Note 9?

Since the needed files are available now the Note 10(+) firmware is out I wonder if the feature will work for us. So far my Note 9 shows the ability after adding the needed apk files from the Note 10+ firmware. However the app needed on my windows laptop is nowhere to be found (yet).
Does anyone have the DeX for Windows app?
Edit:
I have attached the files i picked from Note10+ firmware, I've placed them in system/priv-app on my rooted SM-N960F. So far for me there`s no way of knowing this will work untill i get mu hands on the DeX on PC app.

According to the Samsung website you need Pie, rooted in my case to copy the files to system/priv-app. But without the app needed for PC there's no way of knowing it will work.
Seems like an app DeX for PC for installation on the phone has been released. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/dex-for-pc/dex-for-pc-1-0-00-91-release/dex-for-pc-1-0-00-91-android-apk-download/
I tried to install it on Galaxy S10+ but after an attempt to install it shows an installation progress bar and then shows message 'App not installed'. Well, always worth to try

Link to download the Dex PC App
https://www.samsung.com/us/explore/dex/
I don't know if this is coincidental, but this only appeared on this page after i installed the Apps on my phone and plugged my phone into the PC
I cannot make it work, My phone says Install DEX on PC, and PC says to connect my phone using USB Cable.
So i can only assume it missing some other files?

Can confirm the link only appears when your device is plugged into the PC and it has Dex app on the phone (Strange one)
Anyway here is a hard link to the install file:
https://www.samsung.com/global/download/SamsungDeXWin
Grabbed it already.
Really wanted for this feature to arrive.
I kinda hyped about dex system since S8. Buy sadly, samsung haven't made a lapdock style which I needed. Having my phone able to connect to my underpowered windows tablet is very nice.
Well so far i`ve found the earlier mentioned apk files inside system/priv-app on the Note10+ firmware and noticed the following entries inside system/etc/floating_feature.xml
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_MULTI_RATIO>TRUE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_MULTI_RATIO> <SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_ON_PC>TRUE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_ON_PC>
Doesn`t seem to work but ìll keep looking and trying to figure this out.
Thank you for everyone in support!!
It's fun seeing samsung gives us a new "toy" to play with xD
I'll follow this, I'm interested in having dex working, not having to reach out my phone will be a win
system/priv-app/knoxdesktoplauncher on note9 is 8mb on note 10 is 14mb
desktomnodeuiservice is 3.6 vs 5.8mb on note 10
systemuidesktop is 25 vs 18mb on note 10
it might not working due to differents on this apps, or different system/libs, i tried to put this apps on my note via magisk but when i connect to pc desktopmode service is crash
