Galaxy Note 8 G950F Update Stock Firmware (with TWRP / Root) with Flashfire - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

First, please excuse my bad english.
Is there a way to update the stock firmware on the Galaxy Note 8 G950F without TWRP loss, root loss and data loss?
With Chainfire's Flashfire app you could at least flash stock firmware without the stick recovery that touched TWRP. The last time I worked with Flashfire was on the Galaxy S6.
My main concern is that even when flashing a new Stock Firmware all data will be preserved.
On the Internet I have read on several pages that you can flashing the Galaxy S7 in Flashfire without problems AP and CP. With CSC one had to extract but probably a cache.zip on the CSC file.
Is this similar to Note 8 and if so, how do you create it? Because when extracting the CSC.tar I get no cache.img but a cache.img.lz4. And this always leads to an abort of the imgextractor (under Windows 10 Pro) with the imgextractor.
Thanks for good ideas.

Lz4 is new compression & is why you need the newest Odin 3.13.1 to flash any FWs that use lz4 compression. You can convert lz4 back to ext4 & img so you can then use it how you need. Look online for programs.

Thanks, ich found that.

Oreo and flashing errors in odin fix for some

Hey guys.
A small piece of info.
Oreo uses a new form of file compression .lz4 format not tar
Older odin does not know how to handle lz4s
When flashing Oreo firmwares always have the newest Odin 3.13 or higher

Trying to flash stock firmware, bootloop, /system/bin/tune2fs is missing

Hello,
Im trying to recover my galaxy s10 for T-Mobile. I flash the correct firmware via Odin, its flashes successfully with no issues, and every time, it gets all the way to the T-Mobile boot screen, freezes, and then starts again at the Samsung screen. When I boot into recovery, I can see at the bottom:
E:[libfs_mgr]Unable to disable quotas on /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata because /system/bin/tune2fs is missing
I have tried factory resetting from recovery, but it continues to bootloop. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance
You used the patched version of Odin right? Reflash the firmware. Use one or 2 version firmwares down from the current if the current firmware doesn't work.

I downloaded the newest Odin from SamMobile. Will I be to flash an older firmware, if my bootloader is on the newest?
This error message is normal /system/bin/tune2fs is missing
A full odin Flash should cure it, you may even have to look into the re partition option where you specify the pit file. (extracted from the CSC file).
I've flashed with patched Odin, still same. I'm fairly new to Samsung flashing, how would I go about extracting that file?

Unrooting Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Exynos)

I have rooted my phone using this video (watch?v=ygcDFTPT248)
I was on Android 9
Everything seemed to go well, but the Magisk app was not installed (only the TWRP one) and a root checker I tried told me I was not rooted
I decided to let it go, but now not only does Netflix not work but I cannot even use Smart View, so I want to unroot (Or return to the normal samsung bootloader, whatever will fix my issues)
I tried downloading multiple firmwares for my phone, but I cannot install them.
I downloaded Odin3 from the official page, I put my phone in download mode, set AP to the AP_... file and the others the same (I had 2 CSC files: CSC_... and HOME_CSC... and I tried both), but I always get a fail text no matter what firmware I try to get
Is there some app like Apple's iTunes that can quickly just put the official firmware back on my phone or what could I do?

Will need more information like
Current firmware
Firmware trying to flash
Odin version
Errors with Odin
Also with installing magisk if no manager app then you will have to install separately.

I have fixed my issue
Here is for others that might find this thread:
Current firmware: N950FXXU6DSF3
Firmware I am trying to flash: N950FXXSADTC4
Odin version: 3.13.1
Initially I was getting a big FAIL! in the box above my phone, with nothing else that stood out in the console besides telling me the thread ended
I believe I was accidentally putting one of the CSC files in the USERDATA box
I only used BL, AP and CP and I succesfully installed the software!
Thanks anyways, bro

"Re-Partition operation failed." in Odin + "Secure Check Fail : (PIT)" in Download Mode

The goal: To have unrooted SM-N960F/DS stock ROM on my current Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960N.
Some background information about my phone and how I got here:
1. The phone was SM-N960F/DS and rooted when I acquired it. No idea what the original firmware on the phone was - any way I can find out?
2. To unroot, I decided to simply flash another firmware on it. By oversight I flashed SM-N960N.
3. After flashing, realized I now have single SIM, so now I wanna flash SM-N960F to get back dual sim.
4. In Odin, I have tried to flash 13 different SM-N960F firmware onto the SM-N960N, but to no avail. I keep getting the error "Re-partition operation failed." in Odin combined with error "Secure Check Fail : (PIT)" in the device's download mode.
5. I successfully flashed the custom ROM "Superstable ROM". However, I am not able to live with the limitations of a custom ROM.
6. Flashed the same N960N firmware again without any problems. But I cannot live without my dual SIM capability.
7. Now attempting to flash N960F firmware but can't get past the same "Re-partition operation failed." error.
8. I have tried the flashing with "re-partition" enabled + appropriate PIT file ==> "Re-partition operation failed."
9. I have tried the flashing with NAND erase + "re-partition" enabled + appropriate PIT file ==> "Re-partition operation failed."
Please help, I admit hitting the state of desperation!
Search your phone's forum for a modified stock ROM that can be installed via TWRP.

Thank you for your reply. Does that mean that, for my case, flashing official firmware is out of the question?
You wrote "I successfully flashed the custom ROM" so what does that matter? After all, you wanted to check if the dual SIM works, and not if the ROM is original.

you can try flashing modem and bootloader through TWRP with a zip, and then try to use odin again with official ROM
you can find them here

dual sim and single sim use the same bootloader and modem, the only change that they have in software is in the efs partition, that you must not mess with.
And backup your efs partition in TWRP if you haven't yet

Thank you very much for your reply. I would have very much liked to give this a try, however, after a lot of frustration, I simply contracted someone who flashed a customized firmware for me.

32GB instead of 128GB

I recently flashed the stock rom, and now I discovered that instead of 128GB, I have only 32GB.
Can some one help me?
Hmm that's strange. I recently reflashed my own S20 fe 5g stock ROM and everything (excluding Knox related apps such the Samsung health) including ota updates and play certificate seems fine including my own 128gb 8gb ram storage. I have installed it from Sammobile recently
Have you downloaded the correct firmware? I would suggest doing the following:
1. Install your s20 fe 5g ROM along with its correct CSC (or any CSC that you would like). I recommend installing them from Sammobile. No worries if it takes long to install, just be patient
1.5 To flash the firmware, you would need to install Odin on your pc before doing so.
2. Go onto download mode (Connect Cable to pc + volume down + volume up)
3. Open Odin and connect your device onto the PC using your transfer cable
4.You should have 5 slots of opinions. Put the correct files (except user_data and home_csc) onto the correct slots (bl, ap, CP, csc_omc) . Make sure to check F.reset time and auto reboot are toggled on
5. Flash the files using Odin. It would take a while until it's completed. After its completed the device should reboot and factory reset itself, then the device should be working again
6. if you have unlocked your bootloader before make sure to relock it using download mode. this will again factory reset your device but will bring back some features like play certificate and ota updates. Just remember all Knox related apps are unavailable to be restored as they are still impacted even if you reflashed the original firmware. (However Knox features will work if you havent flashed a custom ROM or recovery before so)
7. Uncheck OEM unlock to toggle back all the security features. Remember it won't toggle on the Knox apps as they were already tripped before. (unless you haven't installed a custom ROM or recovery before so)
After that make sure to check your firmware and see if everything goes well. I hope I have helped you.

Hi how are things
here are 2 options.
1.if you are already using the system, back up and form data in twrp. (unfortunately how to reset the system)
2.in odin, there is a checkbox for option, nand erase.
