Issues with some APPs - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
(1) after installing the google home app (to mirror my screen onto my tv) I get into some troubles.
In the setup it asks for my google account. The actual account I'm using with the phone doesn't even show up.
Even if I create a new account the same issue remains. So I get stuck in the setup-screen.
(2) some apps (ORF tvthek, ZAPPN tv) close immediatly upon opening. Does anyone have the same issues?
and yes I tried to uninstall/install the apps several times. :highfive:
Many thansk in advance!
Mo

No problems with Google Home here.

Strange

Probably Huawei problems...

Gmail freezes

Hi,
I have the latest stock rom (LC1) for 2 days already and today my gmail app started freezing. When I open it, i can do nothing, the only working button is the home one. I deleted its cache, user data etc. and rebooted my Note twice but it didnt work.
Any ideas ?
I have exact same problem, Gmail is acting up with erratic behavior, capacitive touch buttons dont work and app crashes if you share something with gmail.
I think the latest firmware is to blame.

Same here. Reboots, and force closes doesn't help. Have any of you used the stylus calibration app?

No, never heard of it. Why you ask ?
Tons of people are having problems with gmail (myself included). My main gmail account used to lock up, but it has since disappeared from the app. Look at the reviews in the play store
edit: mine is back to proper condition now
It's a problem with the app. It seems to be a random problem, luckily for me, i'm not experiencing it, but i've heard of plenty of people who are.

[Q] Push Notifications not working well?

Hey guys, so I just got the S5 a couple of days ago and I love it. However, I'm having some problems with the push notifications of certain apps not coming through, yet they do easily on my Nexus 7. They weren't a problem on my Nexus 5, but I have no idea why it's not working properly on a brand new phone like the S5. Each of the apps, like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to name a few, are all listed to push notifications and they're set in the main Android settings, so I have no idea. Anyone else have the same kind of issues like me?
To note, I've already factory resetted my phone several times, cleaned out the data, caches, etc and still no use. I am rooted though, but I doubt that should make a huge difference, right? And right now, I'm not using Xposed framework, but before when I first noticed the issues, I was. Thanks in advance!
Taking a longshot here...but have you updated that Samsung Push Service app through the Play Store (and all other apps for that matter)?

if you used Titatium backup to restore any apps that use push, that could be your issue. I restored facebook, instagram , snapchat etc and the push never works when i restore, you need to clear the app out, and just login new for each push app.

Yeah, I did that initially, but that was the first time I got the phone. Now, I've been clearing out the caches and data for each app, uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Play Store, but still some of the apps don't have the push capability unless I was just in the app or still in it. Some of my problem apps are GroupMe, Snapchat and Instagram. When I had my Nexus 5, that wasn't the issue at all.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Check out TB Restore Fixer on the app store. I noticed that when I did Titanium Backup restore, some of my apps were not working correctly and I couldn't reach certain parts of my storage, etc. After I ran it, it seemed to have straightened everything out. (Requires root, of course)
Hope this fixes your problems!
Same problem
I first started having this issue a week ago. I checked all the setting, factory reset, and I ended up switching out the Galaxy 5 through Sprint yesterday. E-mails and FB messenger app was working on data while I was driving home and I thought the problem was fixed. I reinstalled all the apps I was using and over night let the phone charge. When I woke up this morning I noticed two of the folders I made were removed and a widget for S Health replaced the folders spot. Thinking nothing of it I removed the widget and made it to work this morning to find out I had 3 e-mails waiting, a notification on facebook, and another message through FB messenger that did not come through this morning. I am receieving notifications if im on wifi but not through the data now and this is a new phone. I think this may have something to the 4.4.4 release but this is bugging me. Any new suggestions?
I have seen issues with sprint where phone calls are fine but data wont work in certain areas of the city unless you turn data roaming on it apears that the signals are ok for voice but not for data in thoes areas
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Data roaming is checked on, I did go in today and saw a roaming guard on data and turned it off but nothing yet. It's been two months and my push notifications are still not working. Figure I'd come here and bump again.
Im having same issue looks like no one has a solution for this... I get all my notifications while im on wifi but soon as im on data i stop getting some notifications. Very frustrating.

Play Store downloads/updates stuck at 99%

I'm using a Note9 that's only a month old. The last 2 days, any app updates or new apps I'm trying to download get stuck at 99% (sometimes 100%). Things I've tried so far:
* Resetting the Play Store to default and deleting data/cache
* Wiping the cache of the whole phone
* Disabling the Google app (per suggestions I found elsewhere)
* Uninstalling Nova Launcher (per suggestions)
* Wiping the cache/data of the Download Manager
It's driving me up the wall. No idea what to try. Any advice?
This is the same issues I've been having, especially since updating to Android Pie. Only small fix I found was just closing all apps and run Device Care on a download, then it worked. I don't know if this is an actual fix though.

I am not.
I've ran into this problem but only when having a unstable Wi-Fi connection. Specifically a bad power supply on the router.
And a lot of business wifi like in hospitals and stuff they have blocking software to keep the employees from watching movies and game of thrones and things like!

So, no one has found a solution to the stuck-at-99% download problem for Google Play Store?

Only Google.
I'm experiencing this problem as well (Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). This started happening 2 days ago.
Also, another strange thing is happening: The Blue light filter, and Digital Wellbeing grayscale filter, are not starting/stopping at the correct times, they are delayed (sometimes by hours).
The worst part is, my previous phone (Galaxy Note 8) had the exact same issue(s). I endured it for a long time. I was excited to ditch the Note 8 for a phone that worked... Oh well
I generated a debug log, and I'm combing through it now. I don't understand everything I'm looking at.
Here are some attempted fixes, that did _not_ fix the issue on the Note 8:
* Clearing the Google Play store and services caches.
* Removing my Google account, then signing back in.
* Factory reset, then reinstalling everything from scratch. (The issue started happening again, within 1 day.)

Thanks for your response. I just tried this, disabled the Google Play app, then restarted the device. I re-enabled Google Play, unfortunately the issue is not fixed. I'm looking at my 13 pending updates, the first one (Nova Launcher) is stuck at 100%, and is not moving/updating at all.

Thank you very much!
I double-checked that apps were unable to update (Netflix was stuck at "77%"). I disabled the Google app, and restarted the phone. I left Google disabled.
... Netflix took longer to update (it stalled at "77%" again), but it did finish successfully. Now the other apps are downloading and installing! Nice. Hopefully this is a permanent (or at least reproducible) solution to the issue.
Do you know *why* the Google app would be interfering with app updates? I'm genuinely curious.

Did you find out what was causing this issue? I have had to disable my "google" app to allow updates. Are you using a s8 ? We should compare apps to see if something we have in common is causing this issue.

Yes i disabled it, but that must be related to another issue. my girlfriend has the same s8 and no issues. Must be related to multiple google accounts or something that differs from my phone to hers.
Perhaps fully off-topic or just the solution, did you disable or remove Chrome? I know my Note 9 shows similar behaviour when I debloat and remove Chrome. Once I updated the WebView app all runs fine. So I always update WebView before anything else. But then again I only notice this behaviour once I remove or disable Chrome browser.

Question [SOLVED] Google Account Syncing not working using Mobile Data

Hey folks,
just got my X60 Pro+ from china. This is a really nice device, really like it so far.
But I'm having trouble when setting up my Google Account, I can't seem to sync them using mobile data. Turning my WiFi on, it syncs my EMails automatically and so on. I really searched the entire Settings library and this weird iManager app, but I can't find any Data restrictions whatsoever. It doesn't even let me sync it manually in the "Accounts and Syncronisation" settings menu, only with my WiFi.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really searched everything and everywhere.
Greetings
Update 23.04.2021 : Vivo has fixed the Sync issue with an Update. Updating Google Webview and other Google Apps is also helpful, if the problem might still exist.
I do believe it's related to the Vivo.com app, you need to use script in order to remove it
I had X50 Pro Plus and faced the same issue.

Yeah right, I also did that but no success. I've sent an EMail to Vivo Support, lets See.
My guess is, there is the "WiFi Only" toggle switch "missing" in the "Account & Sync" Settings tab.

I finaly get it working, but I don't know exactly how because I did a lot of action :
- uninstalled vivo apps via dev usb
- granted all permission possible to Outlook
- disabled smart notification
- changed the default system sound
- updated everything I found.
I don't know what was the problem, because it was really not syncing : mails was appearing only when opening the apps and waited for few sec to sync.
Hope it helps.

Question Unable to view or download gmail attachment

Hello, I recently found out I can't view and download gmail attachments on my Oppo phone. I recalled I can view and download them before, so this must be recent development (possible after c.46 update?)
I also find out I can't download from Google photos and Google drive.
I did everything that is suggested by the internet, clear cache on GMS, playstore, etc.. to no avail.
Upon searching the internet, I came across similar problems with OnePlus devices: oneplus problem
and since OnePlus is part of Oppo, the problem may be related.
Has this also happens to anyone here? Do you have any work around of how to make this work?
Uninstall gmail update and use the factory load version.
On Samsung's I always use the factory load versions for gmail and gmaps because the updated ones suck. Google screws up everything... just give them time.

I tried that, but still can't download attachments that way.
Turned out the OnePlus user figured out the problem here
It is the Clone App feature. I unfortunately did a factory reset on my phone, and Gmail attachments downloaded fine, but as soon as I cloned an app, in this case WhatsApp, I can no longer download from Google Apps.
I always have been using 2 WhatsApp on this phone, and I have downloaded loads of attachments from Gmail with no problem before. I suspect the issue is on the latest software update.
The workaround is to switch to guest mode, and switch back, then its normal again. You don't have to delete the cloned app. One user from that OnePlus forum said if you reset your phone, then download failed again.. but I haven't tried resetting my phone since.
I hope they fix this on the next update

Unfortunately a factory reset doesn't ID the root cause of the problem, so it can reoccur.
WhatsApp is trashware... what could go wrong?
Try completely uninstalling WhatsApp.
If that doesn't work it may have permanently altered hidden user settings, one of the the hallmarks of a poorly written app. Really it's acting like malware by locking out another app's functionality if so.
Factory reset and do a clean load from scratch. Be careful what you install or you'll be doing it again!
Just because an app is Playwhore approved doesn't make it compatible or even safe!

I have been searching for the workaround for last 10days as even Oneplus Support could not provide any workaround.
The workaround to switch to guest mode, and switch back to Original User temporarily solves the issue. However, If we reboot the device, we have to follow the same procedure again.

Well, I managed to get it to download the gmail attachments again. I have uninstalled the double application (in this case whatsapp), I have restarted the mobile, and reinstalled. The first time the whasapp installation failed, the second time it didn't and magically it re-downloaded the attached files.
It is seen that there is a problem with app cloning in this operating system.
After update to C47 enable permission to storage in gmail app, then files will be down!
Update: issue come back, not know why!
2nd update: after update the firmware to C60, problem solved!
