NFC Status bar icon - Sony Xperia XZ2 Questions & Answers

Does anybody know how to remove the NFC status bar icon? I'm not going to turn off NFC, since I use it pretty regularly. I'm not going to root my phone, either. From what I can tell, it has long been a Sony thing to block the ability to turn this icon off, but this is my first Sony phone. Thanks for any help you can send my way!

Strange i have NFC enabled all the time and i have not seen the bar icon at all.

you can do this through adb.
Once you get adb setup, run this command: "adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist nfc,nfc_on"
Keep in mind, if you ever want to change the items you put on this list, you need to add everything as one command, so if you want to add bluetooth later, you can do "nfc,nfc_on,bluetooth" but just doing "bluetooth" will re-enable the NFC icon.

@afcor, can you confirm this is working?
And this won't disturb any future updates for sure?
Is there also a way to hide those useless triangles next to the wifi symbol that show upload/download?

I cannot confirm this, as I decided that the lack of VoLTE and wifi calling was a dealbreaker for me. I ended up returning the phone.

I´ve been seeing photos in the "post homescreen thread" where the Razr I is in full screen all the time and the home, back button arent there and just show when needed (im imagining works with gestures).
Tried looking for that with search and not even google got me a hint of that (maybe I just suck with searchs), could someone point me in the right direction?
thx
Search for FullScreenToggle V2 and LMT and be happy!! hope it helps!

build.prop edit is much better. It will keep the status bar.
The other methods are nasty hacks that run a permanent service which keeps killing the system ui process. This also removes the status bar.

which things i have to change in the build.prop?
@teheda:
there are two ways, one using apps like full screen toggle and LMT or the build.prop edit, as arman said i will try the build.prop
about the font i have no idea
anyone knows which line i have to edit?
thx
The build.prop edit works great. But, make sure you install lmt or similar before you do this;
Download a build.prop editor from market, I use this
Create a new entry and enter this information: qemu.hw.mainkeys
Then set the value to "1"
Reboot, you got fullscreen, now get used to using your lmt or whatever you prefer.
Just to confirm, make sure you have installed an alternative to your newly hidden buttons r you won't be able to control your phone properly!
Hi Guys! please, there`s a way to install Pie Control without root on jelly bean?

[Q] Screen on for notifications

When I receive a notification on my HTC One that is lying on my desk, I hear the tone, feel the vibration and have the LED start blinking but the screen dos not come on so I have to pick up the device to see what the notification is for. I'm coming from an iPhone which would turn the screen on for the notification which would instantly let me know if I need to answer the notification of check it later. Is there a way to get the HTC One to behave this way as well?
As far as I am aware no its really only the LED that lets you know.

Tried that- still does not make the screen come on if I receive a message.
WhatsApp has this option if I enable pop-up but then the screen does not go off until I click on dismiss!

lollipop feature that i havent heard of..

i just realized that lollipop has a feature, that nobody has noticed. i didnt realize that it was a feature in lollipop at first, you can add stuff to the quick toggle! what i did was just use a function(hotspot) and it got added to the pulldown. functions like hotspot, or color inversion will get added when you use them

Yeah, not a new info. But there should also be a way of removing them without resetting systemui... I played with invert color option just for curiosity and that damn toggle sat there forever then...
I wonder why Google is always reluctant to add the most requested functionality like quick settings management is...

Was about to post about them not disappearing... Until I read this
I always thought the Color Inversion toggle just got completely stuck there.
Didn't know about the Hotspot one though.
Hey cool! I've been wondering if it were possible to add a hotspot to quick toggle.

It was in accessibility menu one of the most overhauled aspect of lollipop which no one actually cared about in the past even, except for TTS

start hotspot once from menu, you will get the toggle
Wasnt this present in KitKat? Called dynamic toggle
There is a setting shortcut in widget, when you choose notification log, it will show all of your notification history.
Is this a new features or it's already there since kitkat?
i wouldn't consider this as a feature. it just adds 2 more toggles depending on whether you have used them or not. It's not like allowing you to fully customize your quick toggles

Hotspot quick settings toggle

Has anyone been able to get the hotspot quick settings toggle icon to appear? It showed up automatically on my N4 after I installed the lollipop update. So far, its not showing up on my N6. I've turned hotspot on several times but still no icon.
Google really needs to add a way to customize that menu.

Not sure why yours isn't showing up... the only thing I've changed which might be related is adding the following to build.prop
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
Hope this helps.

Mine didn't show up on my GPS Nexus 6 running on AT&T until I made this change.
I guess that's the reason then. I wasn't planning on rooting my phone but between this and the encryption, I might not have a choice. Thanks for the responses guys. I have no idea why Google would restrict that convenient button by default.

What do you have to do to have it normally pop up in quick settings? Is it supposed to show up after the first use?

What carrier are you on? Maybe that's the difference? I have been unable to get it to show up on both AT&T and Verizon.

AT&T and Verizon phones both check your subscription before allowing the hotspot and this is why the toggle doesn't show up on its own
That must be the reason since that check is what the build.prop change disables. I still think its silly that it affects the button though. My plan allows tethering. Can't I have the quick settings button and when I press it, it can check my subscription just like the deeper settings menu option?

Whats the Menu that comes when swiping from the side of the screen

Just got a P30 Pro, pretty happy with it, used some de bloat examples to remove a few things, mostly i'm happy with it but there is one thing driving me nuts. Its the menu you swipe from left or right to get that row of icons to show.
I seem to of removed the menu, but I can't seem to remove the bit that shows that little blip from the side with the 4 icons on, I use a live tile style launcher and often swipe across to access the app list but I keep getting that silly expanding menu icon instead
Just uploaded a screenshot to show what I mean

So far i've removed.
com.huawei.hwdockbar
com.huawei.hitouch
com.huawei.android.FloatTasks
that seems to of made the actual menu disappear but not icon that comes as you swipe, hoping someone here knows, seems to be little information of the description of these! Not sure I should of, nothing else seems to be impacted so far.....I've removed a few others that I know what they are but there are so many i'm just playing a guessing game
Also, if its of any use I use excel and exported the package list, then use
Code:
="pm uninstall -k --user 0 "& RIGHT(A2,(LEN(A2)-8))
to make easy copy paste uninstall commands, just thought it was easier to copy paste that one, I started thinking about automated it with a click/unlock to add remove and figure its more effort than its worth!
It is the app-assisstant panel.
You can toggle on or off via: Settings - Applications - App Assistant - App Assistant (yes the same submenu) - Toggle on/of and below that the position display.
Hope this is the function that you are concerned...
Thanks for the reply! but I don't have anything for app assist panel on mine? unless its one of those packages I've already removed...
would be the same in android 10 as 9 for these, as soon as I got it i just let all the updates run through
