What's working
Basically everything that does work from the official lineage build
What's not working
Basically everything that doesn't work from the official lineage build
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.

awesome work
Happy New Year M5! Great to have an awesome ROM back. I will test it now and report back!
happy new year.
Just in time, i just unlocked my bootloader.
Issues so far:
- Phone doesn't stay on LTE, Drops to H+ (LTE for only 1 second). Actually it seems to keep jumping from LTE/3G
- Fingerprint registration fails at the end
- Camera freeze/crashes randomly same with flash light.
is it only for z5 single sim?
Sent from my E6683 using Tapatalk
Good work, thank you. Camera apps didn't work.

Camera is a know issue, its not working on all 64bit Sony devices on Nougat ATM. A Fix is into developement.
Fingerprint handling is working, but not as good as it is on stock it seems.
I'll take a look at the LTE report, I wasnt able to test that yet as my testsim doesn't support LTE at all.

It is. You can use the ROM on the DualSIM Phone too, but the SDCard won't work (kernel thing, DTB differs).
Flashing a (yet not existing) custom kernel for DSDS will fix that and you can use the ROM on a DSDS device.
I'll see if I can setup a jenkins job to compile a untouched dualsim kernel that can be flashed with AnyKernel later on.
Sorry man, but where is download link for this. Thanks
On the download link there is only shamu.

We deleted and restarted the builds as it turned out that user builds had some issues, so we went back to userdebug (like every other ROM does too). All builds should be done in ~2 hours, sorry for the delay.

As for every other AOSP ROM too, you need to flash GApps seperately.

Thank's for your work.
I just installed this ROM, but it won't accept my sdcard (invalid format) which is ext4, which is a standard FS for other parts of the Android FSs. Using ext4 for sdcard on several phones. Is this considered a format for sdcard which require special support from Carbon?

I restored backup of another ROM and this LTE issue stayed. Do i need to do a full return to stock? Why would it have happened? is it related a modem being flashed?

I believe ext4 is a non default filesystem, ext3 should be a "typical" FS. I spend a lot of time trying to get exFat working on Carbon, but it never worked, so I moved on to something more important and leave exFat (as well as fuse support and support for other filesystems) alone for now. I will look into it again after our initial issues are solved, I promise
This is great news, cant wait for optimized build. Can you include the recovery for flashing this rom in op please?
Fingerprint works for me just like stock Rom. And everything works fine well for me. Except camera (known bug for x64 devices) also no fcs and lag it's amazing!
Thanks for supporting Z5 i really appreciate your work. Only thing to wait is the camera Fix and this will be my daily driver for sure!

You probably didn't flash the correct factory image. You should've flashed this one
finally, waiting for the stable one .
Thank you so much for the effort

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

---HINT--- Anytime you you install a new ROM and you are concerned about battery usage you must wait a very minimum of a day to have the slightest understanding what the battery drain is going to be. A day is going to give you some idea possibly but honestly it's more like 3 days before ROM truly settles into your phone. Asking how to improve battery life on a ROM that you've had on your phone for a few hours doesn't make any sense.

Thank you @IKGapirov for taking your time to build this awesome rom
Installed kltedv effortlessly. Added Mind The Gapps and Magisk
Device operates smooth and responsive as expected.
Everything I need works well.
We are so bloody spoilt for choice with both O & P. Just when I think its okay to settle into my favourite rom another build pops up.
Definitely an addiction

Thank you so much ! I'll try it when i'm back to home
No problem so far !!
Just installed it and found that if ambient display is set to always on, lockscreen won't show up using power button or home button. It can only be turned on using fingerprint. Hope OP can look at it. Other than that, LED light is not working when charging but working when notification comes in. Overall, it is very good and stable ROM. I'm gonna use it for my daily driver :good:

I tested everything I could and the only problems I found were camera and NFC(it doesn't appear in settings). Performance was great, on par with oreo. I haven't tested battery life.

Thanks a lot for the Carbon Pie dev. About camera, you indicate that multiple shots can cause crashes but even a single shot results in FC. Moreover, I could not find any options/settings in camera app.
you guys rock! thanks a ton.
"Meet us on Telegram" link in the first post is aimed to Discord, is it by design?

Single HDR shots crash the camera. Non-HDR shots work. The camera app is basic at the moment but that will be taken care of in the next update.
