I cant seem to find the answer to this anywhere but i have a new p9 lite and a 'smart view' case. However it just doesnt work - the phone does not automatically turn the screen on or off when the case is opened or closed. I have an app to check the proximity sensor and this seems to be working ok so i think there must be a setting in the EMUI 4.1 to turn this feature on but i cant find it. I have search on google for P9 lite smart view settings but i cant find anything that helps.
Anyone with an idea on how to get this to work?

Try this, go to:
Settings > Smart assistance > Smart cover > On

That is odd. One question.. Do you loose option if you remove the case? I don't know how they work but maybe my case is faulty and the phone can't detect it??
Also I see you have names for each of the sections on the menus but I don't... Weird..
Anyone else have a p9 lite to compare with?

I don't even have a smart cover for this phone and never used it. This option is there from the beginning. I'm on Nougat beta but this option was also there on MM stock rom that came with this phone.
Hey Guys,
Im searching for a solution to deactivate Hi Voice permanently at the Huawei P10 Pro. The Deactivation Butten (Settings > Apps > System Apps > HiVoice) is grey, so i´m not able to push the butten. Any Idea to fix the problem?

Possible fix
Go to app permissions and go to microphone permissions and turn off the "recorder" app. It worked for me

No, not really.
If you really want the Huawei sms client, someone has to extract it for you from an older handset. I don't believe the app is released on Google Play.
I've searched apkmirror, but I can't find any.
i searched for it but couldn't find it as when i used phone clone to port my messages across it said it had done them, but there was no messaging app, so not sure where stored as not in the google android messages app - luckily i have sms backup+ to backup text messages
Nope only Google Messaging, I prefer Textra anyway so use that instead.

Tried it get same error message.
Glad I'm not the only one who prefers Huawei messaging sap.
Prehaps need to root phone.
Don't know why Huawei didn't give the option to install either.

I've not tried chompsms in years. I think it's the intrusive ads which puts me off and eat great fan of the ui.
I'll revisit it see if it had improved much.

Trying it looks better but how don't get the quick reply drop-down appearing when I get new notifications. Any idea how I get that working? Thanks

i don't have that option switched on, but it's under notifications, but remember notifications on the P20 Pro is hit and miss....
update: thought i hadn't had the option on, but i got the pop-up notifcation with the options to do quick reply, etc
Chinese version of p20 pro is using stock Huawei message app instead of Google... Maybe someone can find a way to find it and install it

I agree with you. Huawei messaging app is far better than the Google one.
So I extracted the Huawei messaging app from the P20 Lite model and sent it via bluetooth to my P20 pro but the phone doesn't let me install it.
It doesnt have to do with unknown sources. I think that the phone is programmed to block this app.
The must have had an agreement with google to use their messaging app instead.
It doesn't make sense that the P20 Lite model has the official one and the P20 Pro model doesn't.
Hello. Im looking for the same thing on my p20. O have Huawei messages on my mediapad m5, instead of ugly Google message. I couldn't find a way to install the original app...
Yeah, I used the Huawei Messaging app too on my P10, and when I moved on the Mate 20 Pro I was really disappointed to see that they replaced it with that ugly Google Messages app...
If there is a way to get rid of the Google app and install the Huawei one instead, please tell us how !

Thanks a lot! I installed. This is unfortunately the same application as in the google store (not Huawei) I would like my old version from Lite. I have accidentally removed it. I tried to install from p10lite, but I can not.

I got the same problem 2 years ago with i had the p20 pro. I'm still not getting the icon with p30 pro. Am i missing some setting to enable it? Gmail is also not working.

Hello everyone! I have a notification problem between smartwatch Huawei Watch Fit, Huawei Gt2 Pro and my Oppo Find X3 Pro phone. The allarm rings on the phone but no notification appears on the smartwatch (while whit the previous Huawei P30 Pro yes, and it was possible to disable the allarm rings from the smartwatch). Is there any way around the problems? I have installed Huawei Health and HMS correctly, giving them any permission, but the problem remain.

Have you tried to install Huawei Health app from the Huawei App gallery and not from Google store?
When I purchased my Huawei GT2e, I couldn't sync with my Oppo Find X3 and after research on Google, I found it would work with Huawei Health app found on the Huawei AppStore...I did it and it worked 1st time 1st right.

Yes of course, I installed Huawei Health directly from the Huawei app gallery (HMS installed in the same way), but the problem has not been solved.
Weirdly, I checked and I have the same issue...when setting an alarm on my phone, my smartwatch doesn't ring.
