Apple Music Crash - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Installed Apple Music and it has been working fine since launch until recently. At launch it will just crash in about a second. I've tried clearing cache and data, reinstalled, and rebooted the phone to no success.
Anyone else has/had any issues with this?

It's working ok for me so might be a firmware issue on the phone

Thanks for the reply. My device is CLT-L09 UK model on EE and it's been the same firmware since launch with no updates. Like I said, it was working fine up until recently.

Exact same setup for me so that's not much help for you unfortunately!

I have the exact same problem. Switched from an iPhone to Huawei P20 Pro. Apple Music was fine for a week and since yesterday it keeps crashing. Installed old version APKs, tried cleaning everything, even resetting the phone to factory settings although there were no firmware updates. Literally tried everything and no luck.
And that's just one of the issues I am having. Some SMS messages won't show up in the default messaging app, notifications won't show on lockscreen. Some strange OS hiccups happening all the time. The whole office here tried to enable the notification content on the lockscreen - we know where the option is - but it just doesn't work. The SMS isssue is beyond Huawei support and carrier support. And hey, we are phone reviewers, we know stuff FFS...
Anyway, joining the wagon with Apple Music crashing and hoping for some resolution.

Me too, signed up to a free 3 months a few days ago. Working well yesterday, since this morning I can't open the app.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared cache/data and nothing. EE handset too. Although didn't use the 6 months free offer from EE. I'll use that when my 3 month one expires.

Out of interest, if your having the apple music crash, do you also have the issue with Google maps? I have both! Starting to wonder if the problems are linked and I need to go for a replacement handset.
Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk

I don't have other apps crashing, just Apple Music. Used Google Maps this morning.
Also I used AM on lots of Android devices, this is the first one where it completely stopped working.

I'm using the EE 6 MTH trial and both apple music and Google maps are still working fine for me.
It could be a simple phone setting or another app conflicting with it.

It could, but nothing is fixed even after factory reset. It just happened in a slow day with no new installed apps or updates (I have just 8 apps anyway). Tried everything already. It's like it's an hardware issue...

Be worth checking with others and compare apps to see if it's that.
I installed an app similar to geekbench and it's stopped my pixel XL from switching on with the power button, i had to hard reset it to bootloader menu every time to get it going. Took some head scratching to narrow it down. Once app removed the phone was as good as new again

Yes. Although on a fresh install - I just download AM and that's it - it keeps doing it. I am now thinking of some carrier+phone related issue and will try by downgrading the carrier services, or switching SIMs...

Try going to settings, battery, app launch and set am to manual. Clear the cache etc and see if it helps. That's what mine is set to

It's a problem with Google play services. If you uninstall, then update again it will work again.

You're right, thank you. Just cleared data from Google play services and it's working again!

Thanks!!! Fixed it.

Happened again yesterday. Google play services issue again but wiping data means I have to set up Google pay from scratch every time. Quite annoying.

I've started having this problem now as well, so somethings not right.

Had the same issue. Deleted Google Play Services data and cache and it worked again.

Yea, that fixed it for me yesterday. It's only temporary though - started crashing again today.

[Q] Unable to buy from Play Store on phone

Hi.
Ive had this problem for a month or so now and ive tried reinstalling the play store, clearing caches, clearing the framework data, clearing store data and still I am unable to purchase on my phone.
This wouldnt be a problem normally since I still can buy apps and send them to the phone on a computer from play.google.com
However some games that have ingame content requires that you buy it on the phone.
When I try to purchase any app on the phone I get "Error. An error occured. Please try again".
Well I tried again aprox 17 trillion times and the same error always shows up.
Ive googled about the problem but havent found a solution.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Which rom do you use? In app payment works since 2.3. If i remember correctly, but i guess its not your problem.

My problem is that I can't purchase anything. Somewhere I read that Wiping would "solve" it. Thats not really practical is it now. Anyway I wiped a month ago due to some kernel setting i messed up and the Bug/Error appeared instantly or as soon as I tried to purchase my first app. Could be that it would have worked for a while after fresh install but dunno.
And wiping the phone to buy something off the market kinda beats the purpose. If Id have to wipe every single time I want to purchase something
To specify even further
It is not app-specific.
My CreditCard is fine and is working.
Rom is NovaHD RC22-41
Hmm maybe should try clean application data on Google Play, i have some problems with Google Play and data clean helps.

uninstall the current play store update it would roll back to the old market . then try purchasing from market it will definately work . if not then update again to the latest play store and then you could purchase . do click thanks .
Had this problem on my tab...just revert to old 2.3.6 market and buy something...it worked to me
Inviato dal mio LG-P990 con Tapatalk 2
Also have this problem....can't buy.
I also have this problem.
I am using NovaHD RC22-41 now, but I have had this problem ever since I started using this ROM (at around RC10).
Same story as nuggeo. Full wipe several times, and cleared Play Store cache didn't help me.
Short update on the problem.
Ive cleared data/cache on Play Store and Google services Framework multiple times.
Uninstalled Play Store, Reflashed Gapps, removed my account, readded my account. Praid to the Google Gods and hold both fingers and toes crossed and still no.
Currently im getting an error code ( thats a first )
Error processing purchase [DF-BPA-13].
Quick googling showed some people with the same issue but not with a solution that worked for me or a lot of other people.
Any tips appreciated

Really wouldnt want to go back to CM7 but it did work on CM7 before I went for CM9 so it would probably work. But that isn't really a solution is it.
Update
As of now I am not able to even "purchase" free apps.
Guess its time for a wipe and hope for best.

Did the full wipe fix it?
I finally made it work for me.
I reinstalled my NovaHD rom, WITHOUT gapps. The I installed gapps manually.
Now I can buy from Google Play Store again!
same thing happened to me lots of times, fix i found was simply reinstalling the rom or kernel sometimes (happens with both) even without touching gapps...

[Q] Google Play Error 403 after factory reset [MOVE REQUESTED]

Edit: To mod: If possible, please move this thread to a non device specific subforum, as people with different devices are experiencing the same problem.
So today I decided to factory reset my HTC One, and install back some applications I had previously.
However, after the factory reset I am unable to either install or update any application, with the Google Play Store returning: ""{app}" could not be downloaded due to an error. (403)".
I've been looking around a bit and have seen quite some others with this issue, however no solutions have worked for me. What I've tried:
Logged into Hangouts and confirmed mobile number.
Removed Google account in settings --> Go to Apps>All> and force stop Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager, then clear cache and data for each --> Added back Google account --> Restarted device (without launching Google Play Store).
Using a new gmail account.
Clearing Proxy: I've looked in my Wi-Fi and APN Settings, both of which have no proxy set to begin wit.
Using 3G instead of Wi-Fi.
Another factory reset (repeated other steps afterwards).
Installing apps onto my device from my PC (it won't attempt to install them on the phone).
Please note my phone is not rooted and I'm not planning on rooting my phone any time soon.
Thanks in advance,
Errors4l.

Interesting, this is happening to me also after a factory reset of my HTC One. Tried all of the above, my phone too is not rooted however the bootloader is unlocked.

Yeah I've encountered quite some threads of people having this problem with the HTC One, however their solutions have not worked for me. Hoping someone can bring an answer to this thread
Yea it just seems unusual that it has happened to us pretty much at the same time under the same circumstances, maybe there is some issue with the store rather than our devices, I hope so!
Having exactly the same problem, tried everything. Even got a new handset because of the original issue which caused me to perform the factory reset. Maybe a problem with Google Play?
Hey guys!
I did a factory reset on my LG Swift L9 today
and also can't download any app from Google Play
due to 403. It may not be related to HTC One only.

I've got a new Nexus 5 delivered to me hours ago, first time using it and i can confirm the same sadly, hopefully it will be resolved soon !
What would be the quickest way to alert a mod so that the thread can be moved to a non device specific forum?
Hi all,
Picked up a Nexus 7 today - it was initially loaded with an old build of Android (Blue connectivity bars not white etc) and everything seemed to be working fine. Notification popped up for me to install the latest version, so I stopped what I was doing, got it installed and I'm now stuck with the same 403 errors as everyone else.
Looks to me like a Play Store issue but damn infuriating seeing as I can't even put any basic apps on my shiny new Nexus.
Noticed on another forum earlier that someone was having the same issue, and a guy responded saying he'd returned his Galaxy Tab to the store it came from today (Curry's, I think?) and after the staff there contacted Samsung - they were told that it was an issue with the Play Store. No obvious citations of course, but seems pretty legit what with everything else going on.
And now we wait...

(Not so) sorry for double post.
I just tried again, without making any changes to my phone, and I just downloaded 3 different apps (2 I had previously, 1 new one).
Need a confirmation if the problem is solved for other people (with different devices) before I request a close.

Nope, still 403'ing over here. But I'll keep checking in case it's gradually being fixed.
Still getting errors here too.
403 =/
I'm glad it's not just me.
I tried resetting/clearing everything thinking it was my phone cos I just recently rooted and flashed this brand spanking new HTC One (it was a replacement for my broken HTC One that had a working store :crying, until I went ahead and Googled this annoying error.
Seems like it's a problem on the Google end! =/
Get same error, tried RUU reset and ViperOne ROM.
Still 403 error! Very annoying
Spent 2 hours or so messing installing cyanogen on my new nexus and thought I'd ****ed up. Then googled it. I can believe it, talk about bad timing. lol
Looks like we are not alone...

[Q] DF-DFERH-01 Google Play Store?

Been having this issue for a couple weeks now, the playstore works fine with the factory version of 5.1.x but when it automatically updates to 5.3.6 I get the error DF-DFERH-01. I've googled around and found many people having the problem over the years with various fixes. However there seems to have been a flare up recently, especially for people with HTC One M7/M8.
The following link has several fixes, but none of them stick for me and a few others.
Edit: I can't link yet, search google for DF-DFERH-01 - the wikitechsolutions website is the one I'm specifically referencing, however all websites I've visited have the same fixes that don't work.
First you have to go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Once here you go to the "All" tab.
Seek the Google Play Store app and press "Clear Data" button.
Then look for "Google Services Framework" or "Google Service Framework" application and do the same.
Then restart the phone, wait a minute and ready.
Click to collapse
I even did a factory restore, once the Play Store updated it gave me the DF-DFERH-01 error again.
Anyone else having this issue?

Same Problem
I have been having the exact same problem, and tried those temporary solutions. It is very frustrating.
In fact I did a factory default reset, and it didn't work.
same problem here. play store only works briefly after I force stop and uninstall updates. but as soon as it auto-updates itself, I get the error again.
I was having same problem until 2 days ago. Im running nusenseven v3 and 2 days ago I flashed santods sprint patch so I could update my prl and profile and it seems to have fixed the playstore error for me too. Unless its just a coincidence, but it might be worth a try for anyone else that is as frustrated with playstore as I was.

P20 pro Google pay doesn't work nothing happens

Hello
I did see a similar thread but I don't think it answers my issue. Basically nfc works to pair headphones etc. But when I try to use Google pay nothing happens when j touch the phone to a terminal. No sounds no vibrations. I installed Google play services beta, re installed Google pay and still nothing. My phone model is : CLT-L09 and this is in regards to the UK region with a UK card. Everything is installed properly.
Thank you
i know nfc payments work as i've used it numerous times, but you must have phone unlocked to make the payment
Thank you
I have tried with the phone unlocked - nothing happened still I am afraid. The phone does not even respond when touching a terminal.
I just tried using it with something else NFC as well and it worked just fine again - really curious why this is happening haha

Settings, Device Connection, NFC, Default Payment App? Should say Google Pay
Other than that, clear the data and try again. Leave the Play beta program, go back to normal google services (uninstall updates). Factory reset as last resort. Don't know otherwise i'm afraid!

Yes, it's google pay. Uninstalled/Reinstalled. I just tried a wipe cache partition - but have no terminal to test it.
Should I factory reset, do you have a good backup/restore app suggestion so that I won't go through the hassle of removing bloat/adding my apps again?
Tons of thanks for the help.

I've always used Titanium Backup, but it needs root, most if not all of the similar apps do. Think Google Play does back up stuff for you automatically, but I've never really used it. Otherwise you can backup/restore via HiSuite on your PC, takes ages, but does work. I'd reset as last resort though, uninstall updates & clear data etc for all the google apps first...just in case!
Tried factory reset, still nothing
I had similar issue with the Barclaycard app and had to go through and disable all the power management settings for the app. Now it works fine.
Would also be worth trying to make a payment when the app is open.

THanks for that tip.
I tried that - still nothing
I would like to report my problem solved !
Someone suggested I ask Vodafone UK to give me a new sim card, and that the solution worked for him when facing the same problem.
I was very skeptical as to why or how a new SIM would allow payment services to work, but hey. It did? I was able to use Google Pay right after installing my new simcard.
In case anyone in the UK has this issue and they are using an old style NFC sim card, replacing it with a new non-NFC one may solve this issue. Thanks !
still have the same issue i cant seem to add my card anymore t set up but on my razer phone 2 its fine

Google Maps No Voice Assistance

I got my P40 Pro Plus yesterday, pretty flawless install of GMS on the factory .137 firmware. Google Maps is now installed and it kept shutting down, but I was able to get a longer time in between oncr to download a map of a selected area. Afterward and about three restarts of the phone later it worked. All except for voice assistance. The voices is there, as I did a test, but there are no prompts. Has anyone been able to fix this and get the prompts?

Yep, a couple of times. The behavior changes, though and it's inconsistent. Right now, the app will open and function so long as I never turn wifi on. The moment wifi goes on, the app shuts off.
If you have any tips on reinstall, I'd be happy to try them out.

Yes, reinstalled numerous times, also from APKPure. I reinstalled again after clearing the data and cache and it works fine now,but still no voice assistance, which others widely report as well, including in this very forum. The recovery mode thing you posted sounds sketchy. This is a brand new phone and Google Maps is widely reported throughout the internet as having broken voice assistance.

I think I was very lucky, I got mine in early Sept which is prior to existing GMS method stopped working and near all g. apps working fine.
Fingercross my GMS will not break during firmware OTA update.
Outta nowhere it's working now, no issues. I don't get why sometimes I can't even reopen the app while on wifi to having it work perfectly.
Now to try and figure out how to fix Google Assistant.
