difference between CLT-L29 and CLT-L29C ? - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
as i cant find any information - but looking for buying a p20 pro here in europe - is there any difference between the CLT-L29 and the CLT-L29C? Why did they sell some as C Model?
thx
regards
Thomas

hmmm help

C version ia s dual sim one.

but the CLT-L29 too

I really don't know, where and why this "C" has started. Maybe those folks are just too dumb to read and do copy and paste?
When looking at the true package photos on Ebay, there are only CLT-L29 and CLT-L09 Dual and Single SIM devices for sale in Europe. Even when the headline shows "L29C".

Maybe a China version

Chinese versions do only have a different region code *and* device name, AL00 and AL01, I guess.
I think it is a copy'n'paste error spreading like a virus. In Firmware Finder, you can read that EU firmware is CLT-L09C432B120a. C432 is that region code, B120a firmware version.

Exactly this. All CLT-L29 models are dual SIM and CLT-L09 are single SIM.
CLT-L29C does NOT exist
People are so paranoid

FCC Documents show a CLT-L29(new) and CLT-L29 (before) and they added 2CA carrier aggregation on bands 7, 38 and 41 on/around 1/24/2019 and moved the SAR sensor to the bottom side of the board.

Cross flashing CLT-AL00 Model with CLT-L09 firmware

Is it possible to cross flash between different model types? My P20 pro model CLT-AL00 is nowhere been seen listed in any firmware downloading sites or app. Please help... appreciate any effort...
I'm download the the CLT-L04C from Firmware Finder now, it says my device AL00 is not approve for but I'm still gonna try flash it, I'll let you know if I got it work, really hard for us ppl who bought P20 Pro from other countries and try to use it in North America.
Did you have any luck with this? I've got a 256GB mem, 8GB ram CLT-AL00 with C00 and wondering if it's possible to flash another device's firmware as I want to move off China firmware.
Bump! Did anyone figure this out?
You need to have your bootloader unlocked.

P20 Pro Firmware Variants

Can someone explain to me where the different P20 Pro variants are from? I'm not talking about the L29, L09 and so on, but about c432, c652 etc. From what I've read one the forums so far, I reckon the L-29, c432 version which I have is the "best", however I haven't received the 131 update yet (I'm on 120) and that kind of worries me. One last question: my P20 Pro is brand new and after I inserted my SIM card I got an update (obviously from my carrier) named DT. GRC 8.1.0.4 (CT) (my current last installed update is CLT-L29 8.1.0.120 (C432)). The changelog is "-Optimized network interworking - essential and recommended apps" I don't really want to install it because it will apparently install bloatware from my carrier, but I'm confused about the higher version number (8.1.0.4 vs. 8.1.0.120). How come it is higher? And if I do install it will I continue to receive c432 updates as they are released or will I have to wait for my carrier to roll them out?
There is no best variant. The version are devided by World regions. The 432 is the European one. As for the update you got its from your network provider. I got it to too (DT. GRC 8.1.0.4 LT) but after I have received the. 128 version.

I don‘t think .131 is officially out yet. I have not seen an official changelog so far and most people that have it seen to have flashed it manually. so relax, it will come when it‘s ready.

So I have to install this update before I am able to install 1.28? I also thought about it before but I was hesitant to do it as the update from my carrier has (C150) at the end which probably means that after I install it my phone will change to C150 from C432 and I don't know the consequenses of that (my main fear is that then my carrier would have to approve updates before I receive them which would delay them even further). But if it is the only way I can be able to install 1.28 and any later update then I guess I'll do it.
P.S. I said C432 is the "best" because I see that anyone who wants to rebrand does so to the C432 variant so I reckon there are some advantages to it (like receiving updates quicker maybe?)
C432 it's the most common version around the globe. In order for an update to be compatible with your phone, should read c432. You can't install other than 432.

But I literally have it resumed right now because I accidentally began the download. I mean how would I even get it on my phone as an OTA if it wasn't compatible? My question is, after i install it will my firmware change from a free one to a branded one?
*EDIT*: I found the below really helpful article which I thankfully understood thanks to my knowledge of German. To sum it up, it basically says that it is natural for P20 Pro users to get an update from their carrier as soon as they insert a SIM card on their phone. It may appear to be a different firmware version (like in my case which was C150), however the update will only install a couple of apps from your carrier (which you are going to be able to uninstall anyway) and that it won't interfere neither with how quick and the way you receive updates nor your device's firmware variant. Here is the link to the article: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/huawei-p20-pro.3297/faq-branding-beim-huawei-p20-pro.876843.html
I think it should be pinned somewhere as I believe it would help more people because I've seen plenty others wondering the same thing
Can confirm that right after I installed the carrier update, version 128 was made available to download and the phone remained as C432. Problem solved, thanks Android-Hilfe.
In my case I receive the 128 first and after that the provider update. Now I'm waiting for the 131 or 132 update that's being released for c432.

Any news on whether anyone has received it yet as an OTA?

??? HUAWEI mate 10 pro >> MODEL BLA-TL100 COMPATE L29

Ok I thought there were only 3 different Mate 10 pro models ie; L29, L09 and A09 but....
I came across this China version BLA-TL100 that actually has more USA supportive frequency bands then the L29 Version.
But... What about updates?? Is it better then the A09 version?
I also saw that the TL00 version can be flashed over to L29 version but not sure of the benefit of that but I'm assuming cause of the L29 being first to get the updates...
Am I assuming right that even though TL100 version is flashed to L29 that it will not effect the frequency bands at all correct? (Meaning the T100 having more bands to begin with that those bands won't change if flashed to L29....)
Here is the link:.
https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...-edition-dual-sim-td-lte-bla-l29-huawei-blanc
Also can TL00 version get play store and VoLte? It supports all the T-mobile LTE bands except 71, which most phones don't anyways

[GUIDE] how know the brand of mate 20 pro

Hi, I don't find a complete guide to know the brand of phone, huawei mate 20 pro, but only pieces in many sites.
Here a complete guide.
It's very simple. There's a code on dialer *#*#2846579#*#*, this will open a menu. On menu through - > "network information query" - > "vendor country info", you'll see vendor and country. Models no branded have as vendor hw (it should be huawei=, hw) and as country Eu (for Europe phones, out of Europe can has other voices).
So, if your phone has vendor:hw and country:eu, it's not branded.
If vendor is Tim, H3G, Vodafone, Wind or others, it is branded.
Another method more simple is through build number:
C432=EU
C55=TIM
C113=WIND
ITAC555=H3G
C02=VODAFONE
Every model: LYA-L09/LYA-L29 (LYA=LAYA), etc... Has these codes in build number, and every codes means a different vendor, and obviously C432 means no branded.
I'm from Italy, so I'm sorry for my English, however, I don't know other names of mobile operators, but in Europe if you've C432, phone isn't branded (last huawei's phone models haven't state's firmwares, for example a code for Italy's models and another for Germany's models, but they have code for Europe and others out of Europe and vendors).
C792=Canada (Videotron only?) LYA-L0C - single SIM.
What is C301?
Anyone have firmware LYA-L29 C301?

How Do I Change My Firmware From L-09 to L-29?

I recently discovered that the VOG-AL10 firmware version of Huawei P30 pro has some restricted features like not allowing Google Pay services. I've tried doing in app purchases in apps but they always fail no matter what.
I really don't know how to change the firmware to the international version and any help would be appreciated please.
That has to do with the version of the phone.The firmware it's the same but P30 pro l29 model has dual sim.
