Is it worth spending premium of double for Nokia 7 plus? - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello All,
Here I am, a typical Indian consumer, looking for value for money as always. No doubt I have been a Nokia fan when it ruled cellular industry and I can't express my happiness by knowing their much awaited return with Android. After using my Lenovo Vibe P1 for almost 2.5 years, I am looking for a change. Not to mention how pathetic my experience has been with this phone but for a regular usage, I am very much satisfied. Ignoring serious issues like phone heating till it feels like it will melt at any moment or the worst ram management I could have hoped for, there were some brights sides like 5000 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner to make me feel sophisticated which served its purpose and I need a change now.
Considering the love from past for Nokia, I am seriously considering this device for next couple of years of usage. Advantages I see are looks, processor, display, and most importantly Android One! But the biggest downside right now for me is the price! It's ridiculously priced at ₹26k which calls for premium of almost double for it's somewhat competitors Note 5 pro (₹15k), Zenfone Pro m1(₹13k).
My question is, is it worth of paying double? I am searching for logical reasons which will let my biased mind to go for Nokia 7 plus.
As of now Zenfone Pro m1 has already assured P & Q updates with bimonthly security patches.
Snapdragon 636 is what I think can suffice my requirements as I am a regular user who can play games if hardware permits. (Believe me, I had to uninstall all games from my current device. So I can make sacrifices! ) So not a "heavy" or "die hard" gamer.
5000 mAh battery will not let me forget the nightmare I had with my current device.
So considering average usage, is Nokia 7 plus a worth to give a shot? And more over additional question, hows is vibration sensitivity? I used to miss almost all the calls while my current device is in pocket, so everyone who cared for me are now used to this but still looking to surprise them all by picking it up in 1 ring! So please let me know how is the vibration intensity! (You can tell me in comparison with Moto as motos have vibration sounding louder than ringtones!)
Awaiting responses!
Cheers!

Well, a phone isn't all about hardware. Yeah, it may have a SD660 that's just a minor upgrade over the SD636 in RN5 pro and it may have just 4gb ram but the software experience also counts.
Nokia is the only OEM right now except Google to guarantee next 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security updates.
Nokia 7 plus isn't a value for money device in any way. Not even Nokia advertises it as such. It's a premium mid range device. You are paying that premium cost (double) for gorgeous sturdy design and continuous software support. Also, the camera is better on Nokia 7 plus even though not by a huge margin but keeping in mind the regular updates Nokia provide, they can improve it in future.
Software support doesn't come cheap. Yeah, it could have been priced under 25k for the psychological satisfaction though.
Going by your requirements, I feel RN5 pro is great for you and even Zenfone pro.
The vibration intensity is great on Nokia 7 plus.

Nokia 7 plus is a good phone with great build quality. I bought it offline for 25.5k. There are few stutters due to aggressive battery saving governor. Nokia's service is fast and cheap. My brother's Nokia 5 got screen replacement for 2k from service centre.
If you don't want it-
Honor 8 pro will be a better choice for you if you want value for money. It's for 21k on Flipkart. My experience from Honor phones is great. They don't slow down their phones like some manufacturers do(Moto,Apple) and provide 2 major android updates to all phones except holly series. Bootloader is unlockable and you won't void your warranty.

Thanks buddy for your response. Regarding software updates, even though Zenfone Pro m1 is not "Android 1", they too promised 2 updates on Android P & Q and bimonthly security patches. So I am not convinced on "software" being a reason for this. I am on Android 6 right now since last couple of years and I doubt what difference it makes to have Android 8 on day to day use. Even Xiaomi is prompt on providing continuous update. I have Mi4i since last 3 years with my family member and it still receive updates once or twice a year. So paying this much as a premium for "software" is not convincing.
Regarding build quality, yes, I do agree! Nokia 7 plus looks stunning!! But again, we put heavy back cover, tempered glasses on top of Gorilla! I mean! What's the use of this then!

Thanks buddy for your response. Please let me know more about service center network of Nokia. This might help me to go for it. I have very pathetic experience for Lenovo. The service centers here in Pune works on 100 tokens/day system and you have to be in queue early morning to get the token. Then they will keep your phone for at least a month for some silly fixes! Which makes you feel like a looser!! I still remember the old Nokia service centers were you were given satisfactory service in one go and you leave the service center with a smile!
Please let me know how is the service center network of Nokia now? are they tied up with third party service providers like most of the brands have done in recent years? or have a dedicated store to resolve issues on priority without any discrimination of issues?

I think u know the answer well.but still let me give u some suggestions. If u want to have after sale support go with nokia. If u are okay without after sale support go with xiaomi. And if u can live with a normal front cam and decent after sale support go with asus max pro m1. But if u want all the satisfaction go with nokia 7 plus. I think u will get a good value of ur old phone in exchange n also arrange a icici debit or credit card on which u will have a instant cashback of 10% on amazon.
One more thing if u r a fan of custom roms my only suggestion will be for redmi note 5 pro.

Nokia provides monthly security updates and Zenfone provides bi monthly updates. It may not sound huge to you but if some vulnerability comes up by chance, Nokia would have upper hand.
Well, new android platform updates brings better security, better performance and better features. Xiaomi provides updates but doesn't upgrade the underlying android version. The RN5 pro is still running Android 7.0 and in next few months, Android 9.0 is coming. There's day light difference in 6.0 and 8.0. The difference is gonna be bigger with 9.0.
Receiving 1 or 2 updates a year maybe enough for you but not everyone else. As I can sense from your arguments, being on latest software isn't a priority for you and that's fine.
But it does take a premium to provide monthly and not bi-monthly security updates or 3 updates a year . It may not seem much to you as you brought in Zenfone too into the argument but that's the only phone from Asus running on stock Android. Nokia has more than 10 devices.
The camera on Nokia 7 plus is exceptionally well. Also, RN5 pro maybe as fast as Nokia 7 plus but there's also a point about overall smoothness which is different from speed.
The SD660 is costly than SD636 and the phone also has ZEISS branding which again asks for a premium.
Also, Xiaomi's selling strategy is different from Nokia's.
Regarding build quality, Nokia durability tests have time and again showed that even without using case or tempered glass, they can withstand a few falls easily. Now whether or not your Nokia device will break in one fall also depends upon you luck. The in hand feel of the Nokia 7 plus is on par with the Pixel 2/XL. I would suggest you to go to a shop or mall and feel the device yourself.
I will simplify it for you.
The best value for money device is Zenfone pro just as you want to.
Zenfone pro - No fast charging support. If you can live with it, go for it.
RN5 pro - Miui. If you can live with it, go for it for better front cam performance compared to Zenfone pro.
I don't think custom rom support means much to you but if it does, both Zenfone pro and RN5 pro will be good for you.

That's one of the great feedback buddy! Appreciate that. That makes me consider Nokia 7 plus again. Just a few question, how about the hardware related issues people have mentioned here. Like I read somewhere regarding heat issue while charging, or display having LCD issue with yellow/blue spots, etc ?

Service centre is yet to test by me after all these long years
But i can assure you that u will not regret after buying this phone
Regarding screen issue i m one of tge victim. And has already changed my another n7p. Its my 2nd device of the same phone. N still isuue is there. But it will get resolved (i hope so) otherwise i will have to visit nokia care for display.
As this phone is rolling out to maximum no of countries it will take time to resolve the different issues faced by different person here. In others post or on reddit or even on nokia forum people are telling that they have visited with n7p n they did resolved the issue. So my guess is after sales service nokia is doing good.
Coming to your preference of buying the device it totally depends on u how much u want to spend. If u have a budget of 25k go for it. If u have more budget then wait for one+6. If ur budget it tight go for either Zenfone max pro or note 5 pro.
I have personally used rn5p and its an awesome device.(not with miui in my case).

People in India confuse warming and heating all the time. Any device with fast charging will warm up as a large amount of current is pushed into the battery. Anything under 45 degree Celsius is normal. Nokia provides a support app with the phone from where you can check the device's temperature.
Regarding display issues, yeah, there have been some but I feel those were issues with the first batch of devices. If you buy the device and find any issue with the display, just ask for a replacement from Amazon. They have replacement guarantee for 10 days.
As for the overall display, the display is tuned to be punchier that makes colors warmer and thus, you may find the whites to be a little yellow.
I would really suggest you to go to reliance digital or stores like that and see for yourself if they have a Nokia 7 plus on show so that you can check it.

Thanks buddy! Appreciate that. Well I have budget but I am bit uncertain on spending it on a device for which almost same hardware specs are out there at almost half of the price. I loved OnePlus5t but again it's too much for me. I am yet to fully utilize my 32 gb lenovo, that kindda user I am. So OP6 is in another league for me.
Well I am quiet considering RN5P 6GB variant against Nokia 7 plus. And yes, service center matters a lot. You can't guarantee what bad luck you carry!
BTW paying that much and compromising on issues is not what i think is good. I hope this screen issue is fixed in upcoming lots as I can see few of you have already reported it. and considering the sell volume, the percentage is quite a lot

Thanks buddy. Well I have seen someone have posted screenshot of "orange" android logo coming up saying device has reached heating limit. Well what's the limit for this device. My current Lenovo Vibe P1 is also with Fast charging support and believe me I know what heating means. You can iron your cotton cloths if my device is connected to charger, that much it heats up!

Nah they don't have that much stock. Even i waited for about a week n no call from them about stock then only i opt out for amazon. N this screen issue may be fixed by further updates. Maybe m more concerned about it as i was using s8 previously. So lets see wether it get fixed or not. Anyway we have nokia care so not to worry that much

That orange android logo shouldn't happen. That's a faulty hardware. Anything under 45 degree is fine.
Right now, I am just browsing between few apps and the device temperature is 36 degree. If I do his while cheating, the temperature will go to 41 easily and if i watch videos or play game while charging, it will go even further upto 45.
That's why, playing games or watching videos( more so streaming videos) isn't advisable.

Nokia 7 Plus( I've had it since 2nd May)-
1. Screen: My unit has no issues. Its punchy, vibrant and nicely visible in sunlight.
2. Battery: Amazing. Normal warming while charging is in every device today( unless you play games while charging; I also take off my case while charging so it hardly gets warm). Very well optimised battery. First phone of mine that I don't charge every day.
3. Service Centers: Xiaomi SC's are not bad. I've experienced with 3 of them from 3 different cities of Punjab. If you are polite to them, they return the favor. Don't know anything about Nokia ones yet.
4. Android One: You know about Nokia, HMD was amazing with updates even last year when they weren't Android One. This year will only get better. ALSO
ASUS in their launch event did not "PROMISE" 2 android updates and bimonthly security updates. THe word used by him were " Most likely". They can back off from that anytime.
5. Vibration intesnsity great... Speaker loudness is meh.
6. Camera: Not that better than RN5Pro. Besides, everyone and their aunties download Gcam on RN5Pro and N7Plus so its a moot point.
7. Value For Money: Nothing beats RN5Pro. DOn't buy Zenfone its bleh. Nokia7p is overpriced by about 4k.
I tried for RN5pro for 3-4 flash sales but couldn't so went for 7Plus. I don't regret it as its a great device.
So
Nokia 7Plus is better than RN5Pro.... but its not Rs 11k better... certainly NOT...

I feel it's their strategy. They don't wanna sell in heaps like xiaomi. 10 years back when Nokia was reigning, even then they used to charge premium for their phones. They still know that the brand name holds prominence. They want to be seen as a premium smartphone brand.
They already are a profitable company in India just after a year in market.

Is the Nokia 8 a good phone a non-tech savy 70 year old woman?

I need a new phone for my mum. I'm looking for something with a decent camera, performance and battery life with no known issues for around £300. The Nokia 8 seems to check these boxes but I'd love to hear from some Nokia 8 users to confirm/deny this? What's low light camera performance like with the latest update? Thanks
Why not the Nokia 6 2018 and still get a decent phone and save a considerable chunk of money.
Low light shots with the stock app is crap on the 8.
Agree, Nokia 8 has been out for more than 8 months now? There's a little hardware refresh recently - Nokia 8 Sirocco, the camera lens specs is of older design, they're having problem updating the camera app at the moment, furthermore it is not an Android One/Project Treble, which means update of the device will be very limited in the future?

It doesn't have a decent camera.

I recently helped my mum upgrade to a Nokia 5 (model choice was made based on price and availability). She has said she is finding quite easy to use and enjoys that her solitaire game looks alot clearer on the new screen (haven't quite managed to get her into Marvel Strike Force just yet).
My point being that in general any android phone running near stock android will be fine for a non-techy person.
So if your budget extends to include the Nokia 8, go for it.
But at the same time, if she isn't going to leverage all the features that contribute to the cost of a Nokia 8 you might as well pick her up of the cheaper ones and use the difference to grab things like extended warranties and some cases/screen protectors etc.
Thank you for all your input. I decided to go ahead and get mum the Nokia 8 and I'm happy to say she's delighted with it!

Is nokia 8 still worth buying in September 2018 ?

Nokia 8 is available for INR 28k. So is it worth buying considering SD835 and camera quality or is there any better option ?

As of the locked bootloader, issues with obtaining root and maintaining updates from OTA at the same time and lack of custom roms I would rather choose Pocophone F1 nowdays. The battery is also smaller on this one and ONLY advantage of N8 over F1 is the camera from Carl Zeiss.

And at Amazon, the Nokia 8 is £100 cheaper than the Pocophone, I'd say that was a good advantage
I'm guessing you can get the Pocophone F1 or Honor Play for similar or less money in India? I'd seriously consider those (I own a Nokia 8 but if I was buying today I'd probably look elsewhere)
I haven't got any issue on OTA updates so I would always recommend Nokia 8. It hasn't give me any problem issue either, not even with Bluetooth as some people had wrote. I'm pleased with the camera quality, stock Nokia camera is decent enough, but if you want better post processing image to obtain better picture quality and really good HDR+ option you can install Google camera posted here in some thread. Another good option is installing open camera app from playstore, with it I can set up 4k at 60fps and it does record video without any crush. I haven't check on PC about if it's really recording at those parameters though.
Another plus that I believe is build quality. Nokia has been always outstanding in that department. I don't know about pocophone's build quality, nor endurance durability. So I can't say if it is good or bad. But I can surely say Nokia is better, no doubt. Lol
But of course, if you want better performance in paper I would recommend you pocophone, as it has the latest snapdragon processor and RAM I think (?).
I picked mine up at the beginning of August and don't regret the purchase at all. The camera issues are exaggerated - isn't great in low light, but it's pretty decent in normal light. To be honest if you want a really good camera you still need to buy a proper camera, but as phones go it's not terrible. The processor is more than up to most jobs. It's really nicely built - solid and with a decent metal back. At current prices you're getting a near top-end phone at mid-level prices.
don't go
, i bought Nokia 8 on very first day launch in india. it has image retention and heating issues.
only advantage is camera 2 api enabled by default.
so it can able to run gcam mode.
rather i would suggest go with mi a2 for overall all same stock experience with great camera and large aperture 1.75 with sony sensor. it would be joy to use gcam mode with this setup.
don't go with poco f1, display issues and camera is just worst and not even comparable to 2 year old mi5.
I have dual sim Nokia 8 and screen, looks like, shape of metal, plastics and screen is better than any Xiami phone ever. Nokia 8 is a top model of fashion for almost all mobile phones made it until now. It is really worth to buy in October too!
For me no heating problems, or any other. Camera with google or other aps are ok.

Just bought one so I hope so...
For the price nothing seems to compare now spec wise, I've got a 950xl that has some kind of weird power draw issue which has forced my hand to finally ditch windows phone.
Sadly instore the Nakia 7.1 instantly took a better picture but I found I hard to spend more money on a 'lesser' phone, hoping the updates and different camera make it better!
I personally really like the style on the Nokia, I was considering the oneplus but then for the difference in price for what you get, is it really worth spending over double? I was set on buying a P20 Pro, but photos didn't seem to compare to the 950xl (tried them side by side instore) and I learnt very quickly that I really hate the 'notch' at the top, figured if I'm settling might as well get a pretty phone, considering what else you can get with the same specs seems to be double the price at least in the UK so far i'm happy. and I've saved a fortune by not buying the P20 Pro
Don't buy any Nokia device if you want install custom ROM and or flash custom recovery.
HMD isn't Nokia!

I've just bought the missus one, £250 with a 2 year warranty is a no brainer, you could pay more for a Moto G6 Plus and get Pie and the odd security update in about 18 months if you are lucky.
The camera isn't as bad as people seem to get rather heated about, it is a bit crap in low light but for most situations it is fine.
I have had mine 11 months and it has been nothing other than great.
I agree. Camera is not bad. Also, it is not awesome but successful enough. I see the reality of colours is definitely good. I don't like to see fake and stupid colors in my pictures. It still worths to buy at the moment.

Now with unlocked bootloader you have a masterpiece in nokia 8. Good camera imo, very good radios - bluetooth connects to anything... Go for it
IMO the best Device in Years. Even w/o Root/BLU Android One is damn cool, I won't buy any Phone without One anymore. And having a 1/8" Jack which doens't suck (Compared to Sony's is Great), the SD Card Slot I can't live without having Hundreds of Gigabtes of Lossless Music, 16:9 but with Hardware Button seems more sensefull than 18:9 bc Videos still are 16:9 anyway, I still prefer IPS over OLED due to Burn-Ins... I haven't been Disappointed yet!
DO NOT BUY POCO F1. Im actually poco user and want to switch to this. Tons of bugs and problem that they still not fix after 1 months of release. there also screen bleeding issue, multitouch issue, weird audio issue while using headset while playing game and ugly notch. Stay away from poco
Edit : also MIUI is very bad OS. Tons of bloatware and they even put ads on anything like file manager or the weather widget. Its just soo annoying.
One more thing worth noted custom rom isnt really friendly now on xiaomi devices because they are putting anti rollback which will hard brick your device.
Just buy nokia because android one is far better.

I've just bought one of these too, £259 John Lewis and I think it's a bargain. I bought it as my Moto G LTE needed to be retired and I was going to go for a Moto G6 but when I saw this it was too good a bargain to refuse. I agree with you about Moto's not so good update policy. So far so good with the Nokia 8 and it ticks all my boxes, never use a phone cam for anything other than the odd snap or car bump, I've a DSLR for proper photography so a phone cam never really enters the equation.

is it best buy under 300$(

I need a long lasting mobile with good specs already tried honor play got screen burn issue in bright white color and flickering display don't know that peice was defective or its model fault.
Anyways need suggestion on what to buy for 3yrs use and need good specs and camera good enough to take notes picture, mi A2, redmi note 6 pro, honor 8x, honor play or asus m2 pro?
Which one should i go for? Poco f1 is not an option cux of cheap built and screen bleeding issue and soft bugs.

My luck is quite bad with mobiles, zenfone got bricked even after repair some it got bricked again and then purchased honor play then it had screen burn issue so got refund and today honor play price is decreased by 60$ but i don't know to trust honor anymore and all mobiles seems to be concentrating on specs instead of hardware durability.
This phone has NO issues with battery life. The media and the journalists feed us bull**** all the time, they see a number and make an assumption. My phone lasts easily a full day with normal day of use with a lot of calls, a lot of searching on the net and some video watching in the car with some audio book listening. This phone lasts more than my old Samsung s8, than my newer Samsung s9 and on par with my last year mi a1.
Many people already said battery life is good if not greqt., But are afraid to say it is excellent because the tech YouTubers said it's "meh" for some reason, even though many of their phones that they own last less than this one.
This is one of the best phones under 300 and dare I say it comes close to even the bigger budget phones.
The only thing I can't comment on is gaming as I do not play games on my phone. I listed all my activities above you can make your educated guess. I have two phones left right now that I use that is my older Samsung s8 as one of my all time favorite phones, and this one, and I am thinking of getting rid of the s8 as well. The s8 as originally more expensive phone is fluid in terms of UI, better looking to me, better camera hands down, and more powerfull, but to be fair I could not care less about most of the things except I really enjoy the fluid UI Samsung has build in the past years with the S7 s8 and s9, but I am happy with the stock to so whatever.
Go for this phone dude, you won't be sorry in the next 3 years unless you play heavy games (for those I have no clue, you will have to ask some one else).
The only thing I would suggest if you have the budget is go for the 6GB ram version, that will help you last longer with your phone for sure, it's a future proof more than anything else.

nightmare and disgusting are words that are usually used for phones of the 5-10 usd from china with shipping. I would not call any disadvantages or shortcomings that you think the phone has (obviously comparing to phones with higher price tag or with better individual parts but with other parts lacking) nightmares or disgusting.

Nokia 8 vs nokia 7 plus

Hi guys.i am in a dilemma.i want to buy a nokia phone wich one do you prefer for buying?7 plus or 8?actually price of both of them are the same in our country but 7 plus is a little more expensive. Android pie is enough for me and as i searched a little, android q doesnt have lots differences versus of pie.
If you really have to choose a Nokia device, go for 8. It has a much better chipset and screen, and those two will be defining your experience. Camera in 7 Plus is a bit better, overall it's a bigger phone, with bigger screen. Stock camera app is really poor, so you'd be better with GCam mod. Nokia 7 Plus is a bit more popular device, so if you like modding, you'll find more there. Battery life looks similar.
But in full honesty, avoid Nokia. Their phones look nice and are priced decently, but software support is garbage. Nokia 8 was updated to Pie in December, but major compass bug was fixed this month. Maybe HMD will understand one day, that releasing 20 phones a year for such a new and small brand means sacrifices in software department.

Ty sir for your opinion.what do yo think about Samsung galaxy A x0 series?i like nokia 8 because its very fast and powerful and its enough for next 3 or 4 years.
Nokia 8 is a solid device, don't get me wrong. But if you care for fast and reliable software updates, well it's not here. Also, the camera is closer to a mid-range, than a flagship.
If you can sacrifice those 2 things, take Nokia 8 and you'll be happy with it. I'm definitely sticking to mine, even if I find those 2 things a little annoying, overall experience is really great.
I'm trying to stay away from mid-range devices personally. I'd rather take an older flagship, than a modern mid-ranger, cause manufacturers usually treat flagships better, they also perform better and the community always finds a way to fix some annoyances. Well, usually that's the case, Nokia 8 seems to be an exception.

Ty again.yes i know.older flagship is better than a modern mid ranger.in my country if you want to sell your phonw,if you have a samsung device you can sell it easily.but if you have nokia or sony or Huawei,it will be very difficult to sell it.i have sony xperia z3plus and I put a fair price on it but nobody like it. Because of that i am in a dilemma. If i buy nokia 8 i dont know how i can sell it in the future but samsung galaxy a30 (the mid ranger which i want to buy it) it can easily sell in the future, what is your idea about this.
Bro ihave another question, does nokia8 have any problem about red hollow and color on its display?
Well, you have to decide on your own, if you can live with a mid-range device. I know I don't like the idea, so my choice always goes with flagships.
The only "problem" with the screen I've found is that it has a blue-ish tint. But it's easily fixable with blue light filters/night mode slider.

Question Is the 10 Pro worth getting?

Greetings,
I've been browsing the sub for a bit and watched a few reviews about the phone because I have a pretty great deal for one and might consider buying it. I tried it out for a few minutes in a store the other day and it feels and looks great.
There seems to be a lot of negative talk, mostly against the fact that 1+ is now just a flagship, which I don't care too much about. Nor do I for the camera or selfie-notch or whatever.
Are the software issues and such really that annoying to deal with? Are there other phones you'd recommend instead? Am I better off just hoping the 11 is a greater phone and keeping my 7Pro for now?
Pre-thanks for the answers!
It is a great phone however if your fussy, like to modify and customize ect (live for the root) then you will find it frustrating
I find it's great, once i overcame the things i hated and removed, or rewrote some bits to get the outcome i wanted. Ease of use is great, camera is 9/10 IMO. It is a good phone regardless

good phone but don't buy ne2215 single sim i was f****d
Just a tough question.
If you want a great phone with superb performance and amazing hardware, plus an battery that just doesn't quit then yes.
But if you're expecting a flashers paradise which is what most OnePlus buyers want then I'm afraid the answer is a solid no, at least for now.
Any phone I've ever had before if it's going to prove to be a developers haven, we would already have ROMs popping up all over the place, alas with the 10 pro it's just not the case, then again neither is it with the pixel 6 or pro.
I hope it's not a sign of things to come, but for now it's a far cry from everybody's previous device.
Even the threads on XDA are convoluted and confusing, especially on the app.
I'd say look elsewhere but at least on paper, the two aforementioned devices are the best that is currently on offer.
Difficult time to buy unless you don't mind last gens phone. In which case I'd say go 8 pro or the 9 if flashing ROMs is your thing.
I hope it turns around but time is ticking away and the longer it goes on the slimmer the chances.
Pixel 6 Pro NOT worth buying !

Would the nothing phone be worth considering?
Aesthetically it's a stunner IMO...

I Hate rounded phones (dildo like), rounded corners, curved screen (useless expensive creap).

XDA has been terrible over the years. The search feature is so flawed now it almost seems like a waste of time to tell people to search for anything. The app is garbage now and basically was a slap in the face to users who had to pay for the premium app back in the day to get good usability.

dladzI, too, like Nothing phone. For the design in the first place. The price is tempting.
I Hate rounded phones (dildo like), rounded corners, curved screen (useless expensive creap).
khapunkapif money is no issue get Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

Loool at dildo phone. That made me chuckle.. what's the price on the nothing phone? Has that been provided yet?? Also one problem I may have with it is the SOC that's been chosen.
Design wise tho, looks amazing.
Plus Carl Pei on board can only be a good thing

Lol I forgot about that, but I did buy the premium app, then it just disappeared. The categories looks like someone made a change for the sake of making a change, it's less intuitive.
Oh wow, now that's some original OnePlus pricing..
Amazing
Nothing phone price for the smaller ram/storage around 460 euro
Oled, 120hz, 6,55 inch
Qualcomm SM7325-AE Snapdragon 778G+ 5G (6 nm) chipset (mid ranger)
Can you get it ? "Leakers" say is by invite only..., like OnePlus One was...

I have an invite so I could, just don't have the extra cash ATM, plus knowing my luck I'd get it then a tonne of custom ROMs would come out for the 10 pro.
Black or white ?.. i am so racist!..

Not that they're selling it in the US to begin with but I couldn't do a 778G+ chip. Gotta have a flagship. There is a massive gap between 778G+ and 8 gen 1.

We put Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 against 778G Plus to find out which SoC is better. See performance comparison in benchmarks and games.

I had to go to a custom ROM thanks to OnePlus throttling the SoC on my 9 because the browsing performance was garbage without the X1 core and the 778G+ Geekbench single core score is similar to the throttled 9 performance. Thanks but no thanks.
Yes, the Nothing phone 778G+ chip is a big step backwards!
If money is a problem, Nothing phone is good. Nothing is around 470 euro, 10 Pro - 919 euro (8/128)
And SD 778 is the best performance processor for midrangers phones.
I like Very Much the design of OnePlus 10R (global Ace)
