Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

This is so exciting!!!
Thank you ?️

I didn't know it was possible to get Lineage up and running on the Kirin chips! This is great! Was it made easier because of Treble?

Likely to be broken along with Desktop mode as well, which is a bit of a kicker really. Will see how this works and maybe if WiFi calling is functional I might stick with it.

Surely it would be possible to port over the P20 Pro camera app to Lineage? Phh ported over the Mate 10 camera for use with the Treble roms so I don't see why it shouldn't be possible.

i hope the devs manage to port the camera features then, because a stock experience on p20 pro would be dope but the camera is the killer feature for me on this phone

Oh I'm not saying it won't get ported, but I've always assumed that Lineage as it comes is stock, but there is nothing to stop ports happening, just wouldn't expect it to be included in the ROM

I flashed Lineage for the honor view 10 a few days ago and moved camera libs and apk into priv-app. Night mode and AI definitely worked, but the UI scale for the app was totally wrong.
Edit: to clarify I have a P20 pro and flashed the honor view 10 Lineage onto it.

First of all @LuK1337 - big thank you!
If I might be so bold as to offer a suggestion, though:
@surdu_petru has successfully baked stock Huawei camera into AOSP based ROMs. If you're not already considering it or working on it, perhaps he could give you some tips on how to make it work.
There's also this thread, which you're probably aware of. https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr.../huawei-stock-camera-app-treble-roms-t3735169 Though obviously it'll need the latest version of stock camera - preferably from 120 firmware.
It would also probably be preferable to port the Huawei stock Gallery app, thereby eliminating the last issue with ported stock camera.
Again, thanks!
Edit: I see people are already talking about this.

I'm not going to work on EMUI Camera. Also Surdu wasn't really responsible for porting it, it was phh that did the actual work.

No idea, even if I had this device I would pretty much never use the camera. I only have View 10 right now which is my main kirin970 dev phone (I may have Honor 10 too in the future, we'll see).

I know. My point was that he has now taken phh's work and baked it into custom ROMs successfully.
If you have no intention of doing so, hopefully others may pick up the baton now that you've released the first LOS / AOSP ROM for the P20 Pro.

There's no reason to do that. People that really want to use phh's camera app can just add it without my help.

as daily driver - and fully Kirin optimized.
This is the device support section for: Huawei Mate 9.
Any bugs found on this device(s) can be reported here, please include proper logs if you encounter any issues.
We support 3 ROMs in total as of now - LineageOS (Unofficial), ResurrectionRemix OS (Official from Beta 2+), OmniRom
You can find all needed guides/roms on our official website: https://openkirin.net

Thanks for this! I am running the CarbonROM Beta 2 from the partner builds (released July 17). I notice that there is now an official version that is also labeled as Beta 2, but was released five days later (July 22). Can I flash the official build without going back to full stock first? Also, the newer build is significantly smaller: 599MB versus 1.6 GB. Is that because the newer build doesn't include GAPPS?
Thanks again and sorry if I missed the answers to these questions.
As an aside, I'm really liking CarbonROM. Great battery life and very smooth.

the newer builds are xz compressed, you have to decompress them first.
If its the same rom (e.g. carbon -> carbon) you don't have to do a factory reset.

Thanks! And now I realize that I can't read and misread OmniROM for CarbonROM. Oops.

Phh LOS is a generic build meant for any device with treble support. The OpenKirin build is specifically targeted to Kirin devices.
Most of the changes are for dealing with the ways Huawei did things differently than everyone else. Also built in is the Huawei camera app, so (most of) the native camera functionality is available.

Thanks! I want to try OpenKirin LOS (OKLOS), but how will I be able to flash Magisk without TWRP? OpenKirin LOS says that it requires the stock EMUI recovery, so how can I flash Magisk?
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
Okay, so I clean flashed OpenKirin LOS Beta 5 on my MHA-L29. Fingerprint gestures are disabled/greyed-out despite the Mate 9 having a rear fingerprint sensor. Fingerprint gestures worked perfectly on Phh LOS, so I'm not sure why OKLOS isn't working on that end.
---------- Post added at 12:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
Another issue I found: On OKLOS, the Mate 9's secondary top speaker isn't working when playing media. To be fair, it didn't work on Phh LOS either, so I'm not sure if that's an issue you guys can fix.

Use 'fastboot' command.
-> extract stock boot image, patch it by magisk manager, flash patched boot image by fastboot.
Or you can install (patch boot image and replace it ) in magisk manager directly.

hello,
is there any way how the bugs should be reported?
In LOS Beta 5 I discovered that if trying to enable Bluetooth trigger in a Profile, the Settings crash. My phone is Mate 9.
PS Otherwise, the only thing I can say is Hats off to the developers! When I received the phone as a replacement (for a broken Nexus 6p) I thought "oh, crap: no Snapdragon, no LOS". This really made my day!

Although I meant it mainly as a general questions where the bugs should be brought up. In this thread? Or in the Telegram channel referenced in the 1st post? Or...?
PS I found out that NFC is not working, but that seems to be a known issue.
errors in logcat (omnirom)
Hello,
I am trying out OmniROM and I have been getting less than stellar battery life (though still acceptable). I took a look at the MatLog app and noticed a bunch of errors that keep coming up. One of them is from BatteryExternalStatsWorker: "no controller energy info supplied for wifi".
I googled around a bit and it appears this has popped up on other ROMs and it seems to be related to a missing API. There are other errors as well, many of them thrown by HWComposer: "invalid layer type change".
I have no idea if these are impacting battery life, but an error is an error.
I attached a zip with logs from MatLog.
Thanks.
Dear MR.OldDroid
Is it possible for you to add UMS (USB mass storage function, connect pc and turn Micro SD card in photo to be a removable flash disk on PC) into the Kernel? I like this function, it is much better than MTP function.
Thank you very much.

Wow, thanks. Yesterday i unlock my bootloader. Im now in AOSIP, but maybe later try this one.
I wonder what are the differences between yours and notsyncing's. Is this version more stable?
I tried aosip and lineageos 16, I prefer los 16, although both roms are equally fluid. note that aosip spends a little more battery, although I used it very little. no proximity sensor works, it can also be used daily. for the camera I use the last bgc, I miss the functions of the stock camera, it is the only thing that is made of less than miui.
I am on latest xioami.eu miui 10 beta ROM< and it has also problems with proximity sensor while using phone calls. So it means it is general problem on PIE android.

is the second camera working?
Pixel Launcher doesn't work with this ROM, crashes at launch.
Magisk works but had to download and install manually Magisk Manager.
Boot is slower than Pixel Experience Pie but once it boots this ROM is faster overall.
This is great news. I was a long time Lineage user on my Mi5. Using Notsyncing build now on Mix2s because of working proximity sensor. Hope you get it working soon.

Confirms issue.
Also, Quick Charging seems broken... Getting only 500mA from stock wall charger and stock cable. Removed battery info from Recovery and got 1500mA, which is still far below normal; and it reverts to 500mA after reboot!
Also when I enter twrp the battery percentage shown there is usually 20% lower than in LOS. Bizzare.
Guess it could be issue with uncalibrated battery info. Will do a full cycle and see if things change.
For me Pixel Launcher from Playstore works just fine. And its normal that Magisk isnt pre installed

notsyncing's version is a GSI/Treble build. This is a true polaris Lineage OS build made specifically for our device.
Can anyone compare this build and the one from notsyncing for me? Which one is better and why? ? Thanks in advance!
Great! Thanks! I'll move from GSI to this ASAP ? I just wish it's official so I can have OTA ?

NOTE: These builds require EMUI 9 firmware, they will not boot on EMUI 8 devices.
I wrote in the previous thread about NFC not working, Luk has fixed it now, woo!
The Huawei camera app still can't save pictures though (It just creates a 0 byte file) - saving videos work fine however.
Thank You Luk. I am very glad you still work on p20 pro!

Yep, use the newest EMUI 9 base, then flash TWRP. Sideload the LOS 16 ZIP and opengapps, then flash stock recovery and wipe data from there.
Wiping data in TWRP doesn't work with TWRP on L29 devices for some reason.

If stock didn't support full camera api 2 then this won't do it either.

Is there any path / steps to get to LOS 16 from an EMUI 8 device ( CLT-L04 ). I can get to PixelExperience 9 that breaks TWRP.
Thx Luk.

1. Somehow flash EMUI 9
2. Flash twrp
3. Flash lineage, gapps, ...
4. Wipe data (it's best if you do that in stock recovery)
5. Profit?

The huawei camera is included in /system/product/ (along with a bunch of other huawei apps: HwAOD HwCamera2 HwDolby HwFidoAsm HwFidoClient HwPCExplorer HwPCSystemUI HwSmartShot )
However they are not currently present in this build as Luk dismounts that partition.
The app itself works without any issues except it can't save image files (it just creates a 0 byte file for some reason)
Here's the logcat from when I take a picture and save it, hopefully someone will be able to make more sense out of than I have https://hastebin.com/yeheqegori.coffeescript
I can't see why it fails to save the image. Probably an easy fix.

You can try using Huawei Firmware Finder (it's an app) to try and force the OTA through on your device if you haven't received it yet.
Alternatively, you try using HuRupdater (is that how I spell it?) or the instructions found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...uide-how-to-install-emui-9-android-9-t3839316 but for the newer EMUI 9 (163?) build.
Once you are on EMUI 9, you can follow LuKs instructions above, but remember to wipe data via the stock recovery (flash the stock recovery_ramdisk, not erecovery) after you have flashed LOS 16 and opengapps.

Great to see this ROM here. I will install it later on. But first, I have a question: last time I installed EMUI 9 (beta) on my device (CLT-L29), I ended up being stuck with FRP locked, OEM unlock greyed out, no root possible, no TWRP possible. The only solution was to downgrade using FunkyHuawei. I am afraid that I will find myself in the same situation again.. Anyone here who can confirm upgrading to EMUI 9 and flashing TWRP is working on CLT-L29? Thanks.

which TWRP could I take?
I had done a wipe over TWRP since then the normal recovery doesn't work anymore... what can I try?
TWRP remains only with logo but ADB Works with TWRP

It's exciting to see this device appear on the LineageOS website. Congrats.
Just confirming: As with all Samsung phones running a custom OS these days, no VoLTE support right? Just asking as my country (Australia) no longer has 2G since 2018 and 3G will be shut down at the end of this year.

Yes , volte will never work on none oneui ROM
I like the ROM.
For those who experiencing a big camera photo save delay, which is very noticable if I am making selfies and switching to the gallery app to remove a few one by one. Sometimes the camera freezes as well and I didn't see the connection between. But I fixed this by installing another gallery app: com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro from f-droid
The default gallery app obstructs the camera app from saving photos immediately, makes the camera crash as well, but this app is legacy and isn't being replaced by mindthegapps. So there is the cause.
Hi,
Many thanks for the ROM.
Bringing some bug reports; using lineage-20.0-20230417-nightly-starlte-signed with clean userdata.
- BT GATT seems NOK. Scan working but "connecting" doesn't seem to work.
- NFC doesn't seem to work.
- LiveDisplay (day/night) has colors all messed up with blues being way oversaturated in the night.
Other than that nothing to complain about. Thanks again
I'm aware that dirty flash is not officially supported but I'll take the chance to report anyway.
I did a dirty flash coming from lineage os 19.1. Backups were prepared to restore my date. But that wasn't necessary because the device booted successfully, device is working nicely and it's used as a daily driver.
I tried some gcam versions without success. So, I'll give the new lineage os camera a chance. At least both cameras are working in general. Even the flash seems to be functional.
Big thanks for supporting this device!!!

Hi,
many thanks for this ROM!
I'm using the version lineage-20.0-20230427-nightly-star2lte-signed.zip and so far nearly everything works without problems. Awesome work!
Only the bluetooth connection problems I can confirm. I got some headsets to work but my omron medical device will not pair.
can also confirm a working starlte.
Thanks for the hard work.
Is there an option to encrypt the SD card? Thanks
Unfortunately, I have to report a bug.
Using threema, the camera stops working after a video call of approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards also the camera app does only a black screen.
Any logs to provide?
Nice ROM so far! I was coming from Noble ROM which required a repartition so this wouldn't install at first, but I repartitioned with Odin and Lineage Recovery was happy after that.
Works well with Magisk. Just had to flash a couple modules for Galaxy Wearable to work. Netflix also works albeit in Widevine L3, but that is expected. Great to see official Lineage for starlte, thanks devs
Thanks again
I have a problem and its really hard to identify the cause: the faster I type on any keyboard, the more characters it skips. And I am hestitating if its because my hands are moist but this typing driving me wild anyway, because even if my hands are moist, issue is gone for a while. So could almost say that this is not the cause. If anyone knows a solution or the cause, please let me know. Im not sure whether its a bug or not, and/or if others having the same struggle.
Anyway I am happy about the official LOS for S9+. Very happy.

How can I make mobile payments work?
It's possible with some other ROM's without root, but it's not working on LineageOS even without root?
