Artifacts/glitches while watching streaming contents - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi I'm experiencing weird artifacts/glitches while watching videos on YouTube, Dailymotion, and every other streaming service (even through browser). On YouTube, weirdly, it only happens when the resolution is set to 480p or lower. Here's an example of it:

Please help me with this issue!
EDIT: Factory reset did not solved it.
EDIT2: Now even increasing video resolution does not change anything, artifacts are still there

TCPMP very laggy on Youtube

any way to fix the lag on the tcpmp for playing youtube videos? basically it will start the video, then i'll hear about 20-30 seconds of audio before it screen changes then 20-30 more seconds of audio, i have the settings set per the download instructions. the way i play the videos is i click on the youtube link and i see the option to save or play video, i hit play and it brings up the player. would saving it be a better way?
can someone help me get this player working properly, i can't get a youtube video to play correctly to save my life, i'm assuming i have the settings incorrect in some way or another, can someone tell me what setting they are using to get youtube to run smoothly, particularly the advanced, direct draw, gapi, and buffering tabs. thanks

Hi brianlb,
have you tried downloading a youtube video (save as .flv)? Does it play smoother after downloading? If not it is probably a settings issue.
The most important is to use Raw Frame Buffer for video settings.

Are you using ytpocket.com
please explain yourself a little better. I am able to stream YT content via ytpocket.com perfect if im in a 3G area. No lag what so ever. If i'm connected via EDGE or GPRS the video has to buffer every couple of seconds. you could even connect via wifi, and have no lag.

yes i'm using ypocket.com i've followed all the instructions on from there and had no luck, then i did a hard reset to erase everything, tried it again, and same thing, i've tried it on hsdpa and 3g and it's very laggy, bascially unwatchable.
bumping, trying to get youtube to actually stream and not lag a lot.
I'm using ytpocket and I keep getting an error saying "MMS protocol not supported!" even though I have the MMS box checked. And I have tried a soft reset also and that didn't work either.

Video encoder

Has anyone with a diamond tried this encoder? It works incredibly smoothly on mine but the problem is, the sound is always out of sync, it lags behind the video slightly, even when I play the converted video from my pc. Just wondering if it's a problem specific to the diamond or if you've had success with it. I've tried loads of settings, decreasing video and audio bitrates, normalising audio, lower resolutions down to 320x 240, VGA and WVGA with no success in synching the audio track.

No problem....
I've been using this encoder for a while now with no issues at all. I've only been converting flash videos (.flv), so I don't know about any other formats

Actually, converting those videos with encoder causes audio to be out of sync when just playing from my pc, so yeah, doesn't seem to be a diamond issue.
Another thing. I've got core player 1.2.5 now, and that's working very smoothly too, but the audio is also out of sync ( playing on the phone itself) playing flv files or anything (not converted with encoder), but not nearly as much, only by a millisecond or two, but noticeable. What is it with me and audio out of sync.
Ok, I've messed around with the manual A/V offset +/- settings in core player. I've set it to different numbers, and on a couple of videos, one flv and one wmv, at -0.550 the audio syncs perfectly. I thought I had it sorted but other flv videos are still out of synch to different degrees. I don't want to have to keep changing the A/V offset for each video. Can anyone help me further? I'm sure it's the A/V offset function that is the cause but also solution for this problem. I can't tell if it's to do with audio bitrates, video bitrates or other video/audio encodings.
EDIT: YES!! I found the right setting.
-0.200 and every single video in perfect sync with audio. Core Player, what an awesome app, it's got loads of settings to play around with. Smooth as f... video.

Youtube plays videos in 240P.

Is it just me or is everyone unable to play videos in the usual 360p quality. I only get 240p videos even though I have enabled HQ playback.
NVM, found it 3 seconds after clicking post.
Go to Themes and Apps section. Someone has already found a fix.

[Q] Screen flickers while playing videos

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070. Off late if I try playing videos one after the other the screen starts to flicker. The first video plays fine, flickering starts when i play the second video, then I have to bring up Task Manager and clear the memory. This happens only while playing videos, I tried the VLC player also but result is the same. 90% of system resources are free so it can’t be a lack of system resources that’s causing this. Is it a hardware issue, I re installed the stock ROM but even then same result.
I have this problem too but it seldom happens.

In my case ti happens every time I play a video, no exceptions.
Which player are you using to view the videos?
People say I'm crazy, but the voices in my head say I'm just fine.

Zero Frame Rate Drop - Clean OS - Youtube Video slight stutter on panning videos

Hi guys,
I am extremely experienced with understanding frame rate issues and problems with video playback, but this has me just mind boggled. When using MX Player or any other program to play back videos offline, they play back flawlessly.
The problem appears with the Youtube app on this device. Although it does not show any frames dropped, there is clearly a noticeable stutter / appearance of what looks like dropped frames when watching videos using the app. I am using the latest versions of everything.
How to troubleshoot this one?
