Why the OnePlus 6 is one of XDA's favorite gaming phones of 2018 (Sponsored) - OnePlus 5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Why the OnePlus 6 is one of XDA's favorite gaming phones of 2018
The OnePlus 6 is here and we at XDA have been testing it and sharing our thoughts with you on the portal. Our research has shown that this phone is the best gaming phone of 2018 so far. OnePlus tagged the OP6 with the slogan "The Speed You Need" and this proves to be true.
Powered by the Snapdragon 845 and options for 6 or 8GB of RAM, this is the fastest phone on the market right now. The Adreno 630 GPU makes the most recent games like PUBG run effortlessly at 30FPS, which is the max framerate for the game. There is also a noticeable improvement in game load-times. We tested Asphalt 8, and PUBG load times against the OnePlus 5T and here are the results:
Asphalt app launch time:
OnePlus 5T: 5.18 seconds
OnePlus 6: 4.95 seconds
PUBG app launch time:
OnePlus 5T: 19.79 seconds
OnePlus 6: 17.98 seconds
This performance extends to the UI as well. OnePlus always goes with a near-stock Android experience. They are constantly optimizing their software to ensure the smoothest UX possible. Navigating your phone results in very few dropped frames and animations that are quick and lag-free.
"The Adreno 630 featured in the OnePlus 6’s Snapdragon 845 is actually one of the beefiest specification upgrades this new flagship brings. This GPU features a revamped architecture, with Qualcomm claiming a 30% boost to graphics performance and 30% in power reduction (at the same level of performance as last 2017’s Snapdragon 835), something which we were able to verify in our Snapdragon 845 hands-on earlier this year." - Mario Serrafero

With up to 8GB of RAM, the OnePlus 6 has the same great RAM management that we have seen in previous phones. We were able to load forum mobile games and have them remain in memory (in particular, Asphalt 8, Lineage II: Revolution, PUBG and Modern Combat 5), so gamers should appreciate the additional RAM even if the number of apps that can be held at any given time is limited.
"The OnePlus 6 certainly feels extremely fast, and when you do try and measure its speed for improvements you can also find some small steps forward. I get to use multiple phones every year, and often carry two phones at any given time — I get to notice the speed advantage every day, even if it’s not always that significant. For example, while I’ve grown fond of my Galaxy Note 8 (which brought its fair share of improvements) the difference between that and the OnePlus 6 is clear and immediate the moment I switch phones. I’m not just talking app launch speeds here, either, it’s an advantage that permeates the user experience. This is an area where OnePlus has been consistently surpassing competitors, and that’s almost become popular knowledge with reviews, YouTube speed tests and user feedback all agreeing on the matter."- Mario Serrafero

[Android 2.1+][Game] Anti-Squish

Preface:
Owners of Galaxy S series devices will likely know me as the developer of the free open-source firmware flashing tool suite, Heimdall. What a lot of you probably wouldn't know is that until very recently I worked as a professional freelance game developer, typically being involved in medium-to-large-scale 3D FPS and action games. It's even less likely that you would know that late last year I tried my hand at creating my first 2D Android casual game, Anti-Squish.
About Anti-Squish:
Anti-Squish is an addictive touch controlled casual game. Your goal is to score points by helping flies starting on the left or right side of the screen safely make their way to the opposite side. Prevent them from colliding with each other and make sure they don’t get SQUISHED!
Use the in-built high score system to compete with friends on the one device, or upload your scores online to compete world-wide.
Anti-Squish comes with three main game modes plus one additional unlockable mode:
Classic (Easy, Medium and Hard):
You have 5 lives. See how high you can make your score before running out of lives. Different difficulties adjust how often flies spawn and how often swatters appear.
Rush (1 Minute, 2 Minutes and 3 Minutes):
You have a time limit and unlimited lives. See how high you can make your score before running out of time. The quicker you save flies the faster they will appear. Your score grows much faster if you save multiple flies in a row without letting any die.
Survival:
You have only one life. See how long you can survive without letting a single fly die. The game gets progressively harder over time as you save more flies. Your score grows faster the longer you survive.
Hidden/Unlockable Game Mode: (???)
A bit of detective work should get you the name of this game mode. However you’ll have to unlock it to find out what it is… or ask someone else, but that spoils the fun!
Lite vs. Full Version:
The Lite version only includes easy and medium difficulties for the Classic gameplay mode. The hard difficulty for Classic mode and the other gameplay modes are only available in the full version.
The Lite version still allows you to upload your scores online for the game modes in which you have access to.

Background:
The original version of Anti-Squish and Anti-Squish Lite was made available in November 2010. However it was only a week ago that the game received a complete graphical make-over. The make-over replaced all my terrible programmer art with the beautiful graphics you see above. Props go to Amora Leite for producing such wonderful artwork. The graphical update also included a few minor functional improvements and the game mode available in the Lite edition was changed from "Rush" to "Classic".
Anti-Squish is our first ever Android game. We're hoping for at least a small amount of success so that we'll be able to produce larger games and applications in future.

[COMPARISON] Galaxy Note 4 Vs Galaxy S5

Hey all
I thought it may be an idea to create a thread to compare Samsung's two current flagship devices, the Note 4 and S5. While we usually see these two flagships announced at the same time, this year we have best part of a six month gap. For me the S-Pen is a must, which is why I've stuck with the note series since the original. But how much of a deal breaker is this for others?
Design
Next we have the exterior, its great to see Samsung finally embrace a metal finish. The note 3 had a metallic looking strip around the edge, while sure it looked good, the feel of it was always a disappointment. The note 4 fixes this by using the real deal around the exterior edge, giving much more of a premium feel. The S5 sticks with the same plastic fantastic approach, but is smaller and easier to handle due to its more rounded design. Although the use of metal gives the note 4 more of a high-end device look and feel, would anybody take the S5 due to its reduced size and weight?
Display
While we're on the subject of size, it brings us to the display. Both devices use the same SAMOLED technology, just the Note 4's being considerably larger. This is to be expected as they are aimed at different audiences. The Note 4’s 5.7-inch 2,560 x 1,440 pixel display gets you pixel density of 515ppi, compared to the S5's 5.1-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels screen bringing 432ppi. Anything over 350ppi will give a sharp display, and its still in debate if these massive resolutions are of any actual benefit to screens of this size. What would members thoughts be on this be?
Performace
So the nitty-gritty, which is faster? As we have different versions of both devices, we will stick to the Quad core versions as its the one we will see in the UK. Both use very similar Quad core chipsets, the Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5GHz in the S5 and a Snapdragon 805 at 2.7GHz in the Note 4, both are very snappy processors and will perform well, but its hardly a massive leap when we take the time period that's passed. The real difference is in GPU power, the Note 4 packs an Adreno 420 which is claimed to be around 40% faster than the S5's Adreno 330, of course the Note 4 has a lot more pixels to "push" so how this equates to real world performance is yet to be seen. On the face of it we have two very similar devices in way of performance, it may be down to if you like playing games etc. Looking forward to members thoughts on this:good:
Camera
Both devices come with 16 MP sensors, but we have a big difference, the S5 uses one made by Samsung featuring its ISOCELL technology, while the Note 4 uses a Sony IMX240 sensor. Quite why this has happened is a mystery, but we can only speculate that its down to production, possibly working on the S6's new camera?
While the Note 4's camera may be lagging somewhat behind the S5's due to the use of the more traditional camera technology, both are likely to perform well. One thing the S5 lacks is optical image stabilization, this should give the Note 4 an edge in low-light snaps. On the flip-side, the S5 has hybrid phase detection auto-focus, this is used in DSLR cameras and is quicker than the pure contrast detection auto-focus used in the Note 4.
Summary
Two high-end smartphones, both with their benefits. Please post why you would pick one over the other. Would the size and price of the Note 4 be a put-off and S5's reduced price but similar performance appeal?
This thread has been permitted by the moderation team, and is intend for sensible discussions comparing these two devices and their features. Any trolling or flaming will be reported to the moderation team and dealt with.
Are we sure the note 4's camera doesn't have phase detect AF as well?

Daily usage and Gaming performance issue (HELP)

Hi. First of all i search all the forum but couldnt find any solution. As i mentioned Daily usage and gaming became a burden for me. Frankly im suprised that choppy behavior. My brother has HTC m8 and we compared both devices and i lost all of the games
with HTC m8 there is no lag in games and scrolling and browsing the internet, but with note 5 gaming and scrolling is a big issue for me and im really dissappointed. Any help appreciated thanks.

Download Game Tuner from Play Store by Samsung and on opening it'll prompt you to download gameservice on galaxy apps!
Choose Custom and configure your games like: Resolution: Low(720p) and fps: 60 and launch your games from the Game Tuner app. Should be better!

Make sure your device is up to date. Try running antutu benchmark and compare your score! Something appears wrong with your device.
Exynos 7420 and its gpu run Real Racing 3 or Dead Effect 2 and other heavy games as smooth as it gets..

Now that's a lot of testing Pretty sure the scores look normal although I don't know the last ones, but you can always compare.
I'm pretty sure it's the games you're playing. They're probably not yet optimized for the Note 5. Ask their developers!
Or I guess your gaming needs are too high for this phone! An iPhone 6S or a Nexus 9 might give you a better gaming experience although the Note 5 is still a fantastic gaming device!

Every year, phones company announces new in the field of smartphones, and in recent weeks Apple revealed its new phones iPhone X, and Google also announced the new Pixel 2 phones for the year 2017. Samsung before them announced the Samsung Galaxy s8 & Samsung Galaxy s8 plus.
7 amazing features in Huawei Mate 10 will make you buy it
But these companies are not the only smartphone’s maker in the market, but there are also strong Chinese companies have a significant weight in the market of smartphones, and among those companies that became a strong competitor is Huawei, a leader in the field of networking and smartphones as well.
Huawei unveiled its latest smartphones during an event on 16 October in Munich, Germany. The new smartphones that have been announced are Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
In this post we will show the most 7 amazing features in Huawei Mate 10 will make you buy it :
1- New dual camera supported by artificial intelligence
The phone comes with a dual camera in back, a 20-megapixel lens with a monochrome black and white sensor, & a 12-megapixel camera with a basic colour sensor, which will make night photography, focus and camera performance better and faster.
The camera comes with artificial intelligence, in the effects of bake and in digital zoom, the recognition of scenes and objects supported by artificial intelligence that automatically adjust the camera’s capabilities according to objects or scenes.
2. PC mode
Samsung was the first to integrate this feature in its phones, you can transform your phone into a computer once you connect to the screen. Huawei has also integrated this idea into its new phones, but the advantage of Samsung is that it will not need any additional component, only the phone Huawei Mate 10 and cable.
3. Quick translation with artificial intelligence
Huawei says the translation feature in its new phones will be 300% faster thanks to its integration with artificial intelligence. This translation supports 50 languages that the phone translates without loading and waiting
4. Use two 4G slides at the same time
Huawei is the first phone in the world to support the use of two 4G handsets and dual-voice communication via VoLTE.
5. Processor supports artificial intelligence
Most companies tend to integrate processors from Qualcomm or Mediatek on their phones, but Huawei is different. It manufactures processors for their phones. The Kirin 960 processor built into its phone, “Mate 9,” has a good rating, especially when it comes to graphics and games that require powerful hardware.
In its new phones, Huawei has also integrated this Kirin 970 processor into it, with the advantage of artificial intelligence. This processor is the first of its kind equipped with smart intelligence for smartphones, which includes a special operating unit “NPU” This processor can learn the method of your users and applications that you use more and improves the performance of the device based on it.
6- Battery and fast charging
The new Huawei battery may be stronger than other competing smartphones like Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X.
The battery that Huawei supplied in this smartphone is a 4000 mAh.This capacity lasts for a full day of intensive use and two days in normal use
. Fast charging in Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro is also the fastest among competing smartphones. Where you can charge the phone 60% in 30 minutes.
7 – dynamic backgrounds
one of the fun things about this phone is the dynamic backgrounds, which change as the time changes during the day. You will see a picture in the morning and another for example in the middle of the day and then change at night.

General Lower benchmark scores than the normal for my Redmi Note 11 6GB/64GB variant.

I have the Redmi Note 11 6GB/64GB variant (bought it less than a week ago). I got to doing some benchmarking of my phone. I first checked the benchmark scores for my device on various sites and YouTube videos.
First, the Geek Bench 5 scores should be (according to YT reviewers' videos and other websites) around 364 for single core and 1500 for multi core . My device's score was 171 for single core and 911 for multicore.
Then I performed the AnTuTu benchmark and the scores should be around 270k but my score was 173847. Now that's a lot of difference, I wouldn't mind if the score was like 220k or something but 270k to 170k is a lot of difference.
I performed the benchmark tests in the first place because I was facing lag even while using Instagram and scrolling through WhatsApp and Telegram, I have restarted my device several times, the free RAM is always around or more than 3GB, I don't have many apps installed either. I have more than 50% of my storage free, nothing heavy was running in background while testing either. I don't play heavy games or stuff but I at least want my daily use experience to be smooth, what's the point if I can't even scroll Instagram without facing lags?
Here are the screenshots of the scores from Geek Bench and AnTuTu.
I'm extremely dissatisfied with this, should I get a replacement? I'm not really sure if the issue is with my device's hardware or it's MIUI's fault. If it's the latter then I'm ready to flash a custom rom to my phone if it will fix the issue. What could be the problem? Any help is appreciated.

Ya the LTE speeds are somewhat slower on this phone. At my home, on my Pixel 4a I get 20-40 Mbps with Airtel 4G, but on Redmi note 11 I get around 15-30 Mbps. It never cross 30 and reach 40 like pixel 4a.
I have the 6GB/64GB variant.
Also slower WIFI speeds. I have a BSNL Fiber wifi at home. Its just 2.4 Ghz but my pixel 4a reach speed upto 90-100 Mbps, whereas Note 11 never cross 50 Mbps. I know Note 11 will give faster speeds with 5Ghz wifi, but sill if pixel can reach 100mbps with 2.5ghz wifi then Note 11 should have been able to reach those speeds too.
Anyways, 50Mbps wifi and 30Mbps LTE speed is enough for me. So no complaints. LTE speed increases to 50-60mbps when I am in good network coverge area.
it fixed itself or the update i did manually helped (V13.0.7.0.RGKEUXM) but the score now is this:
