What is this "update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip"? - Honor 9 Lite Questions & Answers

FullOTA-MF contains these files :-
update.zip
system
update_data_full_public.zip
data
update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip
but what is this file?
when would this file be necessary to use?

to unbrick ur phone
---------- Post added at 10:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:49 PM ----------
i also downloaded fullota-mf
i did not see 3 zip file.
from where have u downloaded this?

During unbrick, will it leave S/N and IMEI intact?
PS: I downloaded it from "Huawei Multi-Tool 8 \ Firmware Finder Rewrite 4"

i hope your phone is "LLD-L31" and your country is 432 !
if this - then you can do a "FULL-Update" for your phone.
but - what's the build in your phone (menu/system/over the phone/build) and what the build you downloaded ?
example: LLD-L31 8.0.0.xxx(C432) xxx=build-nr Cxxx=country
the info you give is not all info what we need to give you a good answer
you can not any install in your phone - you must the correctly install !!!
other you can brick your phone !
and a correctly factory-update DONT touch the S/N and IMEI

The firmware that came with my phone:
Build Number: LLD-L31 8.0.0.128 (C432)
I assume this translated to Firmware: LLD-L31C432B128
I assume this code, 432, equals Region: Europe
Firmware Finder does not have version 8.0.0.128 (I wanted to keep as a backup), so I am using version 8.0.0.131 (the latest one available)
Additional question:
If I flash UPDATE.ZIP under TWRP, will it restore Stock Recovery (and overwrite TWRP)?
Or, would I have to also flash RECOVERY_RAMDIS.IMG (extracted from UPDATE.APP)?

It appears you can't flash UPDATE.ZIP under TWRP, so never mind.

no updates recived, is this normal?

Hello
EMUI 6 will be out soon, but my P9 + is still under EMUI 4.1.1
I have a VIE-L29C185B181 and I have not received any updates, (from HiCare or update)
I have tried manual updates (B360, B380, B381) but it does not work, and the B320 is no longer available on HiCloud.
Is it normal or my p9 + has problems?
thank you
if ur bootloader and oem update are both locked (i.e u are on stock unmodified android 6 and emui 4.1.1) use firmeware finder to upgrade to l29c185b360, then use it again after upgrade to upgrade to 380.
- my bootloader is unlocked, is this the problem ?
- If I do a backup of oeminfo, can I do a rollback to M from N with this backup ? I have tried this method with other device (Huawei G8) and it work.
I have reinstalled C185B181 for locking the bootloader,
then I tried to install C185B360 (method 3 buttons and method *#*#2846579#*#*) with locked bootloader and unlocked FPR but it's fail @ 37%
then I tried with locked bootloader and locked FPR, also fail @ 37%
finaly , I tried with unlocked Bootloader/FPR and also fail @ 37%
try using the firmware finder method with firmware finder proxy module. no need to download the firmware to ur phone before upgrade...just select the firmware u need to update to in firmeware finder and select update via proxy, then go to about phone and check for updates and then choose install full package. make sure u dont have an altered system to begin with and no root, no problem if both bootloader and fps are locked.
also dont forget to choose OTA/FULL package to update to.
thank you for replying
Just a question, is C185B360 an official update for C185B181?
yes it is.
---------- Post added at 03:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:45 AM ----------
dont forget to remove dload folder if u have it in internal or SD card.
I tried with Firmware Finder 2 times but it's fail @ 2% (download 100%, installation 2%)
I have also tried to reinstall the C185B181 (current version of my P9+) with Firmware Finder but it's fail @ 2%
sorry I have no more suggestions, that method worked for me at least.
Is it necessary to upgrade to B320 before B360?
If yes, is there anyone who has a copy of C185B320 ? (this version has been deleted from HiCloud)
I do did it (sorry for my bad english)
C185B181 -> C185B360 -> C185B380
the bootloader most be unlocked

You say that you followed HWOTA7 instructions - did you really
1) Your screenshot shows model L09.
OP post #2 requores that you must rebrand (change location) from L09 (or L19, L29) to AL10.
You didn't rebrand, or it failed (how, why)?!
2) Your screenshot shows build number 8.0.0.046(OCS6).
Never seen any firmware like that.
HWOTA7, post #2, clearly describes that you must flash (after rebranding to AL10 c00), first b399sp17, and after b540.
Your build number is completely different?!
What you have is not result by following HWOTA7 instructions.
If you followed HWOTA7, you would have:
1) AL10 c00 b540 (not L09 b046 or what)
2) OEM/FRM would be permanently unlocked, with no OEM Loxk/Unlock option in Developers menu (not just grayed out)
3) You would have Playstore services preinstalled, you would just need to install Playstore apk
HWOTA7 OP post #3 describes how to rollback from (properly installed!!) AL10 c00 b540 Chinese Oreo back to Nougat (eg to L08 c432 b504)
But you don't have AL10 c00 b540, but instead something totally strange/wrong - I doubt that given eRecovery procedure will work for you.
You can try with HuRupdater (sorry, I never used and needed to use HuRupdater)

Sorry, really cannot help you then.
Unfortunately, since you didn't follow the guide but flashed some other firmware instead (you thought 'better' or what), you are in a specific situation, on your own, and only you should know or find how to deal with the phone and that Oreo firmware
As suggested in the previous answer, you may try with HuRupdater, but IMO, instead of further improvising (HuRupdater is very powerful but you can brick the phone), consider paying 15-20 Euros for DC-Phoenix or Ministry of solutions to safely downgrade to Nougat
After that, if you want Oreo, please follow the HWOTA7 guide carefully and in every detail (like others who now happily use the Oreo) - you will have stable Oreo AL10 c00 b540, debloated, fully working and with less battery consumption than Nougat
Also, rooted, passing SafetyNet, with fully working GApps, and ready for Open Kirin Treble custom ROMs (maybe they will work with your Oreo, too, but cannot tell you)
And if you would ever want to go back to Nougat, you would have a proven roll-back guide as in the OP post #3

Maybe I can help you...
I had the same issue just like you, even I read this post before I fix my phone.
First of all, the bootloader says the FRP-Locked, OEM Lock(or whatever says, i can't remember)-Unlocked.
On the Developer Settings the Oem Unlock option was greyed out.
Just like you.
So, reading this post [GUIDE] Debranding to C432 and updating to B361 (Nougat) for EVA-L09 i had a hunch...
What did I do to have my phone back?
1. My phone had the C432 oeminfo, so, I downloaded the dload-huawei-p9-eval09-eva-b136.zip (L09C432B136) in this post. Stock ROM dload file - P9 EVA-L09 B136
2. Copy the extracted dload folder to the external microSD card.
3. Now open the dialer app and enter *#*#2846579#*#* to open the project menu
4. Go to Software Upgrade > SDCard upgrade and confirm the update installation.
5. After the update, maybe shows an error at the final, let it be.
6. The phone restarts and boots with the L09C432B136, Android 6.0, and if you check the Developer options, the OEM unlock option is enabled. You can now lock or unlock your bootloader.
7. I need to update to the latest build and if i tried to check for an update, it says there is none.
8. I downloaded this firmware Download Huawei P9 B182 Marshmallow Update [Europe] I repeat steps 2-5, lock the bootloader, and search for an update... and update after update, I'm on L09C432B504 (Nougat)
Hope to help you...
Sorry for my bad english, I have no one to practice with...

Can I flash a C432 rom on a C431 device?

I'm on the stock rom BAH2-W19 8.0.0.230 C431 in Germany and the unlock procedure doesn't work. I was wondering if downgrading to a previous version would let the unlocking procedure work and if it is required or not to maintain the same 'version' on the downgraded rom.
In short: on this firmware BAH2-W19 8.0.0.230 C431, can i flash a older one like BAH2-W19 8.0.0.179(C431) or maybe this other one BAH2-W19 8.0.0.217(OCEC432) ?

Generally (well known for various other Huawei phones), submodel and cust must be followed.
They can be changed, aka rebranded, but only with unlocked Bootloader, since it requires flashing OEMInfo
Also, be careful when downgrading, if you go to an old version of Bootloader (usually it coincides to before GPU Torbo or firmwares with Security patch from the first half of 2018 or earlier), then it causes a serious brick.
To the other side, downgrading to the same Bootloader version does not help to ease getting the BL code.
Btw, Bootloader version can be inspected from a particular Hex address from xloader img, which can be extracted from update.app by Huawei UpdateExtracror (Windows program), that must be unzipped from update.zip, downloaded from a FullOTA firmware from FF
For that reason, people use Testpoints method to erase and then flash the old firmware (board image, if available for the particular device) to be able to downgrade the BL, and thus to be able to buy BL code the old way, simply based on providing IMEI and Serial number

This means that the ROM i'd have to download has to be of the same branding (C431). At least here, to flash a C432 for downgrading would not work.

What is FF ?
So, in short, if I really want to downgrade the firmware, I have to download a ROM from FF* of the same brand (C431), then extract the xloader img using the Extractor tool, compare this to my current version of the firmware and re-download any other ROM from FF until I see that the downloaded ROM has got a previous version of the bootloader. Flash this particular ROM. Is that correct?
I have not fully understood the "Testpoints method". Is it a real (documented) Method for flashing?
Thanks for your answer, it helped! Waiting now for this last feedback but until then, thank you!

FF = Firmware Finder.
Find a thread on XDA, search for XDA Huawei FirmwareFinder.
There is the FF apk on Playstore and FF exe for PC, you can also search firmwares directly from their server:
https://pro-teammt.ru/online-firmware-database-ru/
You don't really need to extract xloader.img (there is also a thread on XDA for Huawei Update Extractor and there was a thread for a special PC program analyzing the required bytes in xloader.img).
Instead, you can read Changelogs by FF, and you will see when there was the upgrade to GPU Turbo, and also which Google Security Patch is coming with which version.
Hence, in short - your intention was to 'cheat' by downgrafing to the old Bootloader, so that you can get the BL code easy and cheap.
Unfortunately, do not go for - you will brick your Huawei device.
(Many people tried similarly, with various Huawei phone models, and bricked them)
For TestPoints search similarly for XDA Huawei TestPoints. Generally, you have to physically open the phone, find the TestPoints pins (picturures can be found on the Net) on the motherboard, two of them have to be shortened
Then you will need a special Huawei loader and USB driver (there is one for Windows and one for Linux), and a board image to flash (there are sites on the Net selling the board images).
That way you can unbrick the phones or downgrade (as you wanted) to the older firmware (with the older Bootloader version)

I realized there is not much to gain if I'd flash a previous bootloader. The original issue was that I thought I couldn't 'unlock' this one, instead I can and did it (check out the unlock thread).
All the others information are still useful, so thank you!

WIll flashing offical stock rom using ODIN replace modified IMEI with original?

I purchased a used samsung galaxy note 9 from a second hand seller to save costs. Software showed that it was n90fd and it had two separate IMEI as well. I went to download mode and it turns out the model is N960N and imei of the phone has been changed and two imei appear in the software. I am on android 9 and some pie rom with jan 2019 security patch from Dr. Ketan has been installed which does not allow me to update to andoid 10. My question is that if I flash stock n950N rom over it, will it restore my original IMEI or retain both modified IMEI? Will the calls etc still work because I plan to flash official pie rom using ODIN and update through OTA to the android 10 and I do not want to lose the dual sim functionality.

Thanks for the response but the tagged thread does not answer my question
From IMEI problems on other Samsung models .
For those that failed to back up EFS , try flashing original stock firmware via Odin .
Worth a try .
You only need to back up the EFS and ODM partitions!
---------- Post added at 02:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:54 AM ----------
Only need to flash the BL+CP file via ODIN to update to Android 10! There is no need to update the stock ROM completely through ODIN!
Didn't you see the Dr. Ketan explanation? If you want to update from Android 9 to Android 10, you must first refresh the BL file of Android 10!
