NO
NOT FOR 960U. You can hard brick (yes HARD BRICK) from flashing this on a 960U. We don't have the firehose programmer for these devices so you will have to send back to Samsung

Hi, I need to get everything clear until I reach the 7 days be prepare to unlock bootloader.
I from Mexico and have the G9600 model want to unlock bootloader to change CSC.
After we wait the 7 day to get oem unlock, first enable oem unlock and then CROM?
It's confuse because on others threads say if we wait 7 days and enable oem unlock the phone say need to factory reset and before reset boot on the OS and the oem unlock it's gone again and need wait another 7 days. So before enable oem unlock and factory reset when the phone boot to OS need to run CROM or wait other 7 days to enable oem unlock again and then run CROM? Or this particular model don't need to factory reset before enable oem unlock?

Dear ho do format the phone? On every of the attempts, got error 21 and also footer error.

[Q]Stuff to do before unlocking bootloader/root

So I just got My OnePlus 3T and like most, would like it rooted! I have had experience with rooting and unlocking bootloader, but since My earlier devices were by Sony, there is a lot of difference. In Sony devices, there was no need to unlock bootloader to root, but it seems that for rooting 3T, I need to unlock bootloader. Even that doesn't seem difficult since there is this great guide with a toolkit. But My concern is that do I need to backup any partition before I unlock bootloader? Like in Sony we had a TA partition, which could be backed up before unlocking bootloader and would get wiped after unlocking bootloader. This is just for keeping it as backup and restore it to device if I decide to lock bootloader again. Also, will I loose anything if I unlock bootloader? Such as anything specific to OEM or camera functionality?
Nope. On OP devices there's no permanent penalty for unlocking. If you ever want to go back, you can re-lock the bootloader. But: unlocking and locking will wipe your phone. So you can't carry over root to a locked bootloader.

Okay, that helps! So to return back to locked bootloader everything would need to be like stock(no root, custom recovery etc.)
I had read somewhere about EFS backup and that it is related to IMEI number of the phone. This need to be done before or after the rooting process?
Also, would I need to disable encryption (as it is seen enabled in settings) and remove the fingerprint lock option before unlocking bootloader?
And just to be clear, I'm going to do following steps in the sequence to flash TWRP and root, Please let Me know if it is correct:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash TWRP.
3. Flash SuperUser
all this with the help of ToolKit of OnePlus 3T. I don't need to take backup as the phone is new.
Also, I will be flashing the phh SuperUser for support with Magisk as mentioned here.
Hey, do you guys know if you can get official OTAs if you have TWRP installed?
Former Z2 user here @Mirhawk
I did the advice backup as a precaution. Then did your 1,2,3 steps. May I ask, why Magisk? Is Android Pay currently working with stock ROM + Root + unlocked bootloader?

Bootloader Issue | FRP Lock | Root Guide

UPDATED:
Issue has been solved
( i buy 4 credits from dc unlocker and use HCU to read my boot loader code )
yes i know this is all from dc unlockcer yes they , unbrick my P9 but they also
changed the boot code when you flashed the rom via DC phoenix
im suspecting it that way .
Hello guys. Debranded P9 here
Nougat C432B386 Eva-L09
hw eu :country vendor
Bootloader unlocked and FRP lock
my device gets suffer from a hard brick
and recovered by DC Phoenix. In order to
have a Stable Nougat Firmware i decide to
debrand my phone ......
1st attempt : flashing the (.dgkmts AL10 chinese rom)
after flashing the chinese Al10 firmware
from DCUnlocker (.dgkmts) the device boot and
can be flashed into original stock rom
but the first attempt fails because my
vendor comes from a different build
2nd attempt: flashing the (.dgkmts AL10 chinese rom)
but this time, i decide to wipe NVME and OEM
after booting into system and checking my device
details my IMEI stays the same but Serial No is missing
so i had to use HCU to write my IMEI and Serial No.
and obtain a new vendor from hw eu
after booting system, I start to forced update the
EVA-L09C432B136
then i unlocked my bootloader at this stage
using the same bootloader code from Huawei
FIRMWARE:EVA-L09 C432B136
( please focus on this, i already unlocked the bootloader
here , and allow the oem to unlock )
status : bootloader unlock
frp unlock
the process is successfully done and after that
i check my device details and perfectly debrand
my P9, after a minute it received an OTA update
from Huawei System Updater ( C432B186 )
I update into it and reboot and received another update
again C432B322 ( Nougat-beta version) and then
received the Final Build C432B386
SUMMARY STAGES:
bricked and wiped oem info / SN rewrite using HCU
1. AL10 Chinese rom >
2. C432B136 ( stock firmware)
( do unlocked bootloader )
3. OTA C432B186
4. OTA C432B322 ( Nougat beta )
5. OTA C432B386 ( Nougat Stable)
status : bootloader unlock
frp lock
I'm into that version C432B386
and now im having a trouble here
flashing the original bootloader code
command : fastboot oem unlock xxx-xxxx-xxx
it says : wrong password
failed to write the command
" is it possible to obtain a new bootloader code ?"
i don't know why the boot code changed even though
i use it in unlocking my Bootloader and it succeed
2nd scenario:
when i try to go to developer options and
go to Allow oem unlock
so that i can be able to obtain FRP unlock
but it is greyed out.
" i've read that if you're on Nougat and you are already
in unlocked bootlader, you will have this issue "
the possible way of unlocking FRP is relocked the
bootloader first and the OEM UNLOCK option will
come out.
i guess the solution is finding a new Bootloader code
but "how?" does anyone knows this?
3rd scenario: flashing new recovery
( expecting to have administrative rights )
i try to flash also the twrp nougat version
but it says verification error
command : fastboot flash recovery twrp3.1.0-3-eva.img
failed
i don't want to end up bricking my device again
I'm having a hard time to resurrect this and I don't
want to happen it again, I'm busy with my work so
i have to asked you guys, finding a best way how
to fixed this..
if someone is having a same situation like me
please participate on the thread and or someone who
already fixed this kind of issue please give us information . thank you !

When you relocked and unlocked was the OEM unlock option changeable (not grayed out, no FRP LOCK) again?

Thats wierd if it gave you the frp lock, you can just remove that lock by going into dev settings -> allow oem unlocking.
I wasn't able to use this option. Maybe it's because of the custom ROM because I still use one and I can't use the oem unlock option, tough my frp is unlocked. But watch out.

It should be enabled, what is your rom?
It happened on Elemental 1.1 by KingOfMezi first, now I use Morfus by Catuva, because of some bugs in Elemental before the today's fix. I was in Nougat, because I bricked my phone with that frp lock and the option was available. Now it's unavailable once again. I didn't check when I was on official EMUI 8, but it was probably available I think.

I don't need it for now, I just said it like by the way, just watch out for frp lock and careful if you get it, especially if using custom ROM.

If you have unlocked bootloader oem option in developer is grey and inactive. So if u screw something with magisk and deacrivate oem it means frp goes locked its very hard to activate oem and get frp unlocked again especially on Emui 8. In this case u must use DC unlocker, it means credits, or

Is it possible to re-lock bootloader after official unlock?

I'm doing some research before I commit to unlocking my bootloader, and I can't find anything definitive on whether or not it's possible to re-lock after unlocking with the official tool. I have experience unlocking and re-locking bootloaders, flashing custom recoveries/ROMs/kernels etc but only with Nexus and Samsung phones, so I just want to make sure I'm clear on how Nokia's setup differs (If at all). Would also be interested to find out if Nokia will still offer me OTA's with unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for any help, and feel free to move or close the thread if it matches another one that I've missed.

No, and nobody should do it. It will brick your device.
The point of a locked bootloader is to prevent unofficial software from running, and the point of unlocking it is to make that possible. So relocking the bootloader with unofficial software installed will make the phone think that the software got corrupted and rightfully lock down the device.

Basically anyone should be able to do it and it shouldn't brick your device, as per Google's bootloader recommendations. However, manufacturers decide to cripple bootloaders not to support it in the verified boot chain (where kernel verification can be explicitly made against a custom root of trust set after the device has left the factory i.e. set by the user, instead of the original root of trust). As far as I know, only Pixel devices implement this, and can be achieved by issuing the command:
Code:
fastboot flash avb_custom_key <key_blob>
I'm sure there are lots of advanced users/modders that can find this feature beneficial (if implemented by the device vendors).

I can assume that, in service centers, they are able to reflash the entire firmware including the (secondary) bootloader. They would probably boot the device into EDL mode, and flash it with stock firmware, with a properly signed Qualcomm EDL programmer, and use Qualcomm's QFIL tool to do this.

Flashing Custom Rom on Canadian Variant of S9

can you flash custom ROM on galaxy s9 Canadian variant?
Model: SM-G960W.
I don't have OEM unlocking option in my developer settings but when I connect my phone to ODIN it detects it and says added.
Boot into odin and look for "Activation Lock OFF" if it says that, you probably can

Please don't answer a post if you don't know the correct information. These devices have permanently locked bootloader and cannot be flashed. All you did is cause confusion
2 years late but it sucks than I can't modify this phone due to bootloader locked
