Getting K-9 Mail to work - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Does anyone use K9 Mail? I have problems getting mail notifications to work. I have set no restrictions for battery and gave full permission. It worked initially but not consistently. Now I only get notifications if I open the app. I am using the China MIUI 9.5. Will changing the ROM to the Global version solve this problem?

Email

I use my G1 for work and I need a rom that has push email. I have tried almost every rom that i can find enabling push gmail and push exchange, and they both lag. Does anyone have any suggestions on either a rom or an app to make either gmail or exchange come to my phone almost instantly, like my old blackberry did?
Have you tried K-9?
Yes but there is no push function in k-9
Set update frequency to always update. It'll kill your battery though

[Q] K-9 doesnt notify about new mails (Android 2.2)

I've been using K-9 for a while and it has been working great, but since I upgraded to 2.2 it doesnt seem to notify about new mails.
I have of course checked the settings in K-9 and it should notify.
When I have K-9 open it receivs mails instantly and if I do not have it open when I get a mail it seems to download them anyway, cause all the new mails are already downloaded when I open it up.
So I think it's more about the notification rather than K-9 not getting the mail.
I have reinstalled it but still the same.
Any ideas?
Edit: Now it suddenly started to work. Dont know why or how but I'm happy.

Problem with E-mail

So I have been using the stock e-mail app for a while now and have noticed that most of the time I am not getting my g-mail pushed to my phone. That is the only e-mail account I set up on the stock e-mail app. So, I noticed today that when I have the phone set to CDMA only, it will not push e-mail, but when I change it to CDMA/LTE, all of the sudden the e-mails begin to flow. Anyone else notice this issue? Is there some setting I have missed that could be causing this?

Gmail issues

Having issues with Gmail on OOS. I click an email in notifications and Gmail opens blank. Force stopping and restarting sometimes works but not usually. App fails to open normally sometimes as well. Just appears blank. Have this on OOS 4.01 and 4.02. I am rooted.
Anyone else seeing this behavior? It's killing me right now. Been using Outlook in the mean time. Not loving it.

I have this behaviour also, but only when i add an exchange work account with security settings
All problems gone since switched to Inbox
No problems at all for me, and I use Gmail extensively (the only email app I've used on my phones). But I got the phone with OOS 4.0.3, then updated to 4.1.1 and now 4.1.3. So maybe update, which you may already want to do anyway?
Or try clear cache and clear data for Gmail and see if that helps? It's all cloud based, so all the email will just re-sync (no downside to trying this).
I don't use any Exchange accounts (which a previous response mentioned) so not sure if that is the cause or not.

5X does not sync emails

Hello guys, I would like to have your help on one issue. When the phone is in standbye, it does not sync email. Just when I switch the phone on, than it starts to sync the account. As a result, I am not notified about new emails on my android wear smart watch.
I assigned all the permissions for the application. Also, the battery saver is switch off. Do you have any idea what should I try?
Thanks.
Have you tried to use some other e-mail application? It sounds to me like the phone have somewhat aggressive doze settings that essentially snooze all apps as soon as the phone is put to sleep.
Yes, I also tried other email applications, it is the same. But what is strange that the calendar is syncing, I receive a notification on my smartwatch even when the phone is in standby.

Exchange or IMAP?
Sent from my Le X820 using Tapatalk
IMAP accounts. I somehow solved the problem. The ROM I was using was the original Chinese. Now I installed the Global ROM from MIUI forum and everything is OK...
