My A8+ went down from 64GB to only 16GB after FLASHING !!! - Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) Questions & Answers

I flashed my Galaxy A8+ using Stock Firmware for KSA by only flashing AP. After successful flashing, my phone which has total 64GB memory, is now showing total only 16GB. Where and what did I do wrong ?

I only did AP Flash. I read in some forum here on XDA that for fixing this 64GB into 16GB problem, Flash CSC File. It will fix it.

my phone is 32 gb but I had the same problem , I flashed the combination file, then full flash and works again with the real memory

The CSC not HOME_CSC contains a PIT file which has information on the size of the device partitions. It seems you have flashed firmware which has defaulted your internal storage to16gb.
I suggest you try flashing the WHOLE firmware for your device but flash the CSC not HOME_CSC. Be aware this will also wipe your device.

Yup I had it fixed. Can you share some idea on getting OEM UNLOCK button visible. I tried waiting 7 days it didn't show up. I read some places, many people shared their experience that waiting for 7 days + Nougat Easter Egg game (CAT GAME) enabled the OEM UNLOCK button for them.
any thoughts on this ?

[Q] Sales Code doesn't work

Hello everyone,
Today, I installed a Hong Kong rom into my Note LTE, SGH-I717M changed to GT-N7005. When I plug it into my computer and check if there is a new Jellybean update for it, it said "Kies doesn't support my phone verison / sales code. I did the *#272* IMEI# and I get nothing pop up!! :crying: If you know how to fix this, please tell me I really want to fix my phone.
reflash the csc file, or the rom in csc slot of pc odin, at own risk
Use csc changer from the play store and use the root option. This will wipe the data. So make sure you have a backup.

could be the rom you flashed, or the modem in the rom, that on own risk you reflash modem with root and mobile odin, however I recommend you check your apn settings in settings, mobile network if you have the settings from your provider.

I tried , but it does not change.
maybe i need the csc file?
anyone?
try a factory reset from recovery i did it that way
Is the CSC editable in software? Or is it Hardware ?
I am also very interested to know if it is possible, as I wait since a month the N920CD (Dual SIM) in 64GB ( for the B20 (800Mhz) frequency in France), which is not out yet ... This would allow me to buy now a N9208 Dual 64GB and change its CSC.
Thank you to tell us if it works

same csc for my note
Found this on xda
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/guide-to-change-csc-root-rom-multi-csc-t3017207
It's for the note 4 but seems that the files mentioned exist in the Note5.
I'm guessing that you will need the csc for whatever country, carrier you want to change to installed.
then make the changes to the files mentioned.
don't forget to make a complete backup before you change anything!
Let us know how it goes.

Is have the 920i which is a multi csc rom.
I was thinking of flashing at&t's csc and changing it to that.
I will give it a shot later today and report back.
So? Have you tried?
Yes but no luck.
Can't seem to extract the at&t rom.
Was hoping to get the CSC folder and try to add it or replace the one on the 920i.
I was able to change my csc just installing lastest xsg firmware with odin!

did you remove anything from the tar file? for example, did you strip everything from the tar except for the system.img? additional details would be helpful (even if you simply flashed the full xsg firmware). thanks!

It's a really good news !
Living in France, I ordered a N9208 Dual SIM 64GB, but It has not the B20 frequency (800Mhz). By changing the CSC of the N9208 with that of N920CD is it possible to have this frequency?
In other words, changing CSC is it possible to have the frequency of his country with any Galaxy Note 5?
so can i change my csc on my sm-n920k phone
i download a firmware from sam mobile for an israeli firmware and it has a all 4 files
so if i flash it will it change to the new csc

awesome stuff and thank you for all the hard work.
Question: if I am on kitkat 4.4.4 it would not be wise to install these lollipop 5+ modems/ bootloaders correct?
I purchased a note 4 but the imei is null and baseband unknown. currently looking for some solutions and i found my way here...
any suggestions would be nice also haha

If you are on Stock Touchwiz 4.4.4 you will need to flash a 5.1.1 ROM in order to use the newer modems and bootloaders. IMEI number can be lost if something happens to the EFS partition. You could try to flash a stock firmware for your device model and your region; a factory reset may also be helpful, though my guess is that there isn't much that can be done unless you have a back up of the EFS partition which you can restore.

appreciate the very fast reply. thank you.
I am hesitant to upgrade to 5 as i am not sure if i can return to 4 if need be or if it may be easier to fix this mess in 4 perhaps.
I wonder if its possible to use some1 else backup and then change the imei parameters in the efs folders. at least then all i have to worry about is getting an imei changed back to my own. i doubt its that simple tho of course. :s its been a long day.

If you haven't triggered your KNOX counter then you will have to flash an entire firmware because the modems and bootloaders require the ROM to be of the same firmware.
Hi @Battlehero
most current modem and bootloader for CM13 pls ?
After flashing these, I lost voice roaming however roaming data is available. My carrier label is as No Service. All is normal when not roaming though. Any ideas?
I'm on a N910T (SIM Unlocked T-Mobile).

This may be dependent on what ROM you are currently running. The files I provide are unmodified as I have simply extracted them from the Odin flashable firmware.

Total storage is showing only 16GB after flashing.

Hi,
I flashed my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM G925A 128GB from Marshmallow to Nougat, but now the total storage capacity showing only 16GB and 6GB available space.
What I did was, I downloaded stock ROM from the internet which is in zip file. I extracted AP_G925AUCU6EQCF_CL10950877_QB12998210_REV02_user_low_ship_meta.tar and flashed it using ODIN 3 v.3.12
However, I didn't load the BL, CSC and CP while flashing if that the case and I didn't try it since I'm afraid I might brick. So, everything went well flashing it except that the storage information is giving me the wrong capacity of the original one which I had before flashing it.
Any solution to this issue?
Thanks
solution

Actually, I mean to the original was 128GB (not 64GB) but now its 16GB.

No SDCard/SIM after OTA update, flashing stock firmware without data loss?

So I just installed the latest update (G781USQUAHWCH) and afterwards my SD card and SIM were no longer detected. I assume the firmware update corrupted something, my question is can I reflash the firmware via ODIN or some other tool and retain all data on the phone?
You can roll it back -if- the boot loader wasn't upgraded too. The critical data should already be completely backed up regardless.
A factory reset may be needed for an upgrade for it to function properly. That probably be the first choice... after you back up critical data. If the SD card is encrypted and you need that data... you got big problems.
Rule #1- if a OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission let it be.
unfortunately, binary jump.
from 9 to A (10)
It only remains to wait for an ota update that corrects.
download system with binary A, install from 0.
Let's see if it was just an update error.

Back up the information, before doing the process.
you try to update only through Home_csc
Back up the information
Flashing only HOME_CSC did not fix my issue, so I tried flashing BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC. That did not fix it, and my phone forgot it's pattern unlock so I can't even get into my phone anymore.
I suppose factory reset is my only choice right now...

Any time you set up a lock you're locking yourself in. You are the one most likely to get locked out.
You may get locked out and lose data through no fault of your own ie a hardware failure.
Physical security is the only real security...

if everyone else on your firmware ISN'T sharing the same problems the corruption could just be with that specific download. just download your latest firmware and flash it with Odin.
look up how to Frija v1.44 or Samfirm on YouTube for the firmware download. then check on videos on Odin flashing.

Lol, the U of hard knocks teaches killer leasons you'll remember.
Had this happen (post #7) a few days ago. Still not sure what caused that data hiccup. Remains stable, so far... keeping an eye on it.
