That's Jason's site. He was the CM/LinOS dev for our phone. It's not all varients,, just Z00A /Z008. Also, both roms on the site are discounted.

Awesome. He has some Z00D on there as well. I was using CM 12.1 and was about to goto LineageOS 14.1 until I came across RR and another MK71.
A bit OT but I thought I had this phone figured out. I flashed over the AT&T firmware and I was unable to find anything but a TWRP AT&T backup which i could never get to work. So I went onto flashing the WW firmware and I can't get anything working. Can't use stock recovery to flash via sideload or from zip. I also tried TWRP and it wont flash anything either. I have tried different boot.img's and more. The flash tools I have tried are the Asus Flash Tool 1.0.0.45 and UNI Android Tools Asus module's flash tool. The first wont even work and UNI's just errors out. Phone displays RESULT: Fail(clash_cmds error! )
What I am trying to do is unlock my phone with unlock code I got from AT&T and to do it properly i need to get back on that WW firmware unless i can figure a way to unlock on custom FW. CM 12.1 gives the prompt to unlock when foreign sim is inserted but code won't work. I have read some versions of CM will work but again this is different than others being an intel based Zenfone. So I am a bit clueless atm.

Big Thanks to Illogic6 for being the Very 1st Person to get Touchwiz Booted to the I9505G post #31 and SamuriHL for solving the Baseband Update Issue and Chainfire
Modem Update : Due to the secure boot loader we cannot flash modems via cwm or any other custom recovery. You MUST update your firmware via Odin
Touchwiz Works with some ROM's like BareBones from the I9505 forum being successfully booted on the I9505G. TW Development is ongoing for the I9505G but with the small partition size some issues exist, and are being researched and worked out.

I've found that very useful. Been able to get every AOSP/CM based ROM to boot by editing the updater-script to match the correct partition.
Has anybody noticed that photos taken with the front facing camera on CM sometimes have green distortion? That was the only bug I've found. Unfortunately, that flared up my phone OCD enough to go back to the 4.3 leak.
Thanks for putting this thread together, OP!

Here's the ROM I was messing with. I used the "old firmware" because it was the newest one when I first looked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349369
I've attached my modded updater script. (You will have to remove the .txt extension. Wouldn't let me upload without it.) All I had to do was edit which /dev/block the script mounts before it copies stuff over. If I recall correctly, I only had to change the dev it flashes the boot.img to. See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43843048&postcount=30

I think this might be fixed in the newest CM nightly. I've took about 20 selfies with the front facing camera and haven't had distortion at all. Before I'd get it every 3 or 4 photos.
Edit: Disregard the above. The problem is back, but I'm thinking it might be the 4.3 camera zip I've been using. Hmmmmmmm......
I think I jumped the gun a bit on rooting my I9505G right when I got it. I've never successfully rooted it, but I managed to get on the 4.3 ROM with a few quirks here and there. My ultimate goal is to get Paranoid Android with halo running, but I'll have to dedicate a day to the whole process. I'll be keeping track of this thread.

I haven't used Cygwin before. I'll take a look at it today.
Also going to mess around with TW a little more. Maybe we just need some libs from the stock 9505g rom or something.
Update: I'm afraid I may have mislead you earlier. It appears that you need more than just the updated update-script in order to get touchwiz to boot. You also need a kernel from one of the 4.3 leaks. Here's the one I've been using. (Attached) Not only does it boot, but the soft keys work and you can hear the sound effects of the lock screen. I'm very close.

Wow Illogic your close bro thanks for your hard work the libs does sound like it would cause the display problem I'm gonna play around with this too. All I did was unpack stock 4.3 and zip and deo the files with root. The problem I am having is that I am still learning U-scripts and so I cannot get anything to flash. I get failed on 0p21 even though its changed. Maybe I can pm you what I did later and get your feedback cuz your miles ahead of me
Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk 2
I've merged libs from the leaked 4.3 build into the TW ROM without overwriting anything. Didn't seem to change anything. At this point, I'm playing with magic I don't understand so not sure how much farther I'm going to get.
Would really like figure out which files in the system are responsible for the display. Perhaps we need to overwrite those files. Google is failing me so far.
---------- Post added at 04:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:29 PM ----------
Tada! :victory:
The error message goes away. Right now, the web browser force closes... that might be because of the ROM I was modifying. What I did was use the 4.2.2 kernel that shipped with the google play phones. That booted AND activated the display.

Its not that the source isn't correct so much as we have no way to root or build recovery. Once you guys have root then we can pull the stock kernel and recovery to make TWRP.

No, they have to be compiled into an img file, and then can be flashed through HBoot using the Android Debug Bridge (adb), or packaged in an RUU by the manufacturer. Source code is what you use to make/modify binary code. It's of no use to you unless you're a super duper computer geek lol

Moto Maxx Roms

Since the bootloader just got unlocked, does anybody know if the moto maxx roms work on the turbo yet and if they don't how can we get them up and working?
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
I know CM is not working yet, but I can't vouch for any of the stock modified ROMs.
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Just tried flashing XT1225 5.0.2 system. It boots up, but fails to set up. Reboots at the first setup screen.
I guess XT1250 4.4.4 will work since it has same FCC ID.
CM 12.1 s being worked on right now. See this page. Looks like it's been solved. You will probably get it in the next day or so with a new nightly.
Or workaround instructions may be posted before then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...axx-xt1225-cm12-0-pre-release-t3060089/page85
Once CM 12.1 is sorted, then the other ROMs, especially Resurrection Remix will adopt the same procedure. @Skrilax_CZ, the CM dev and @baybutcher27, the Resurrection Remix and Mokee dev, are helping each other on this. @baybutcher27 also has a custom kernel with lots of neat features, in addition to CM base kernel, so they both want this to work for ALL Quarks.
several trials and errors I did.
XT1250 KK -> XT1254 DOES Work without any FCs. Since it is an identical device, it should work fine. However, it needs LP stock rom which is unavailable I think.
XT1225 LP -> XT1254 DOES NOT Work.
- With XT1225 boot.img : Reboot after choosing language from Setup Wizard
- With XT1254 boot.img : Constant Telephone FC. Device seems to be working I guess
What are the odds of the quark forums being put back together now that we are unlocked? Rather than monitoring 3 diff forums? Not sure how it was before but making it similar to the G2 forums, where you had a general G2 dev forum, then a sub-forum for each specific carrier.
Anybody on XT1254, can you open adb and do "getprop ro.boot.radio" and "getprop ro.boot.carrier" and post the output?

That was what some of us suggested -- but the the Droid Turbo owners wanted us far, far away. Now they need us.
I suppose it might have been confusing at the time
I came from a razrm and while I shared a cm11 rom with several phones specs were different on the devices.
Personally I would like to see the forums merged as well. If it didn't make sense then. It does make sense now.

Perhaps the same people who petitioned for the divide need to petition for a merger?
I'm not sure who finally approved the Quark forum split, but @TonyStark was very helpful in making it go smoothly. Some stuff got put in wrong forum and he fixed it promptly.
Now with bootloader unlock and common kernels, ROMs, there's no reason to be divided anymore. Everything now works on all QUARKS.
I can see this being an issue. It seems as though a maxx dev put out a kernel for the Turbo that will run RR and CM12.1. Would that dev post it here as well, or link it with flashing instructions?
A lot of us have been sitting idle waiting for the bootloader unlock to happen, and haven't had to delve very deep into the inner workings of lollipop. I personally haven't had a bootloader unlocked phone since 2011 or so, so I m trying to be very cautious in what/how I flash. Having to bounce between forums and even devices is quite worrysome when you haven't been actively flashing for some time.

You are referring to @baybutcher27, who is also the Resurrection Remix dev and OFFICIAL TWRP QUARK dev. And yes he also has his own kernel, based on CM kernel but with additional options.
CM dev @Skrilax_CZ made CM kernel work for XT1254. But that will show up in tomorrow's "nightly".
You can find links to everything here:
Moto Maxx Original Android Development
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/orig-development
Moto Maxx Android Development
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development
Moto Maxx Themes and Apps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/themes-apps
Once you go to those links, read the first post and the last few posts. There's plenty of instructions.
Now that the XT2254 bootloader is unlocked, it's just another Quark. Everything will work.
Whether they duplicate those threads over here is up to the devs. That's double work to maintain two threads for the exact same releases.
If they decide to keep the devices separated it really just needs a post with a link saying "go here" in the droid rom section

Thought it did, i found it elsewhere. Got it to connect to cell when it loads up, still having the play store issue on RR as well as CM12.
I think it has something to do with the 'Storage space running out' message i'm getting. Not sure why thats there, never had it on any other rom/phone.
I have RR running without a hitch it seems. Calls, sms, mobile data all working normally. Havent had any google play issues yet either and ive installed quite a few apps. So far, so good here.

I had that happen when I first flashed it this morning. I had done just a factory reset in twrp. When I mounted system and wiped the partition than reinstalled RR I didn't have a single problem. It shouldn't be doing that anyways seeing that the system partition is 5GB

[ROM][AOSP 6.0.1_r10]AOSP MM-MR1-RELEASE branch by khaon

Hello everyone,
I have successfully built a package for this device. While the factory images is android-6.0.1_r5, this package features android-6.0.1_r10 along with the optimization flags I use for my other devices.
Instructions:
You need to get a custom recovery, this recovery should work
Boot into twrp
flash the package
optional: factory reset.
I haven't tested this as I am at work currently, so if anyone want to try before I get home do it

No it doesn't. I could tho, I will see how thing evolves. I had my nexus 10 ramdisk patched for SuperSU. But I think now the flashing package cheks your partitions.
Guys just a reminder: don't flash SuperSU ZIP directly. That goes for stock as well as builds like khaon's (just a heads up), but rather one of the existing root options. Flashing a ZIP that tries to modify the kernel, like SuperSU systemless will fail on the Pixel C and might semi-brick your tablet.

I read somewhere you were saying that the boot image is chromeos alike. Could you link me some source-code so I can see and understand the differences and how chromeos bootimage are built ? I looked at the chromeos's sources but i couldnt figure out where to look at.
Basically the kernel image is a depthcharge (the bootloader) payload that contains the Android kernel which then boots Android.
Depthcharge (bootloader source code with fastboot code): https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform/depthcharge/
Other relevant project there is also vboot_reference.

It's not just ChromeOS-like... up to the point where the Android kernel boots Android it's completely like on a Chromebook.
But, sourse code?
So is this using the stock boot image?
Sorry for the late reply...

Ewww, I am using this android revision
This tag points to the marshmallow-mr1-release.
There are no sources as it was built with the default sources, however, this was the build platform

Yes it is using the stock boot image.
Thank you! Could someone please upload the build.prop file? TIA!
Thanks a ton man. I've heard this device is more difficult than other devices to build for. When my type C cables and adapters show up tomorrow I will be unlocking the bootloader, flashing TWRP, nand backup, and then I'm going to try your ROM and then the kernel that's available. So it's going to be a good day .

You may just want to root the stock ROM. This ROM has not been updated to the new base, which has fixes for the touchscreen issues.

Stock Binaries for Phab 2

Here are the original stock ROMs for the Phab 2. I have been trying to use the recovery and boot images to get a TWRP recovery built but have been unsuccessful thus far. I'm thinking of moving my efforts off of my Win10 VM to see if I have better luck on a physical machine.
Anyway, here's to getting root on this device.

Good luck.
I have found another set of binaries that I will be uploading shortly. These come from the russian lenovo site and appear to be very legit, as well as the SPF Tool that is included.
