Need help Axon M China Version No Signal after flashing 7.1.2 Vodafone firmware - ZTE Axon M Questions & Answers

Hello folks,
I haev bought an Axon M during my last trip in China and coz there was just english and chinese and also some crucial Apps were missing, I have flashed it with 7.1.2 firmware from Vodafone Spain. Flashing worked perfectly. After switching it on, it has got all a features an Android phone needs.....full language packs and all useful Apps. WIFI and Bluetooth are working great. The main problem is, that it does not receive GSM or 3G or 4G signals. I cannot even make an emergency call without a SIM card. Once attempting an emergeny call, the phone is responding after 10secs. "please switch off flight mode".
The problem is, "flight mode" is off, coz nobody has ever switched it on. Therefore I am facing a big mess now. Trying to reflash the original chinese firmware back to the phone has failed, coz the phone says "cannot flash this version" I guess coz the chinese firmware is older than the 7.1.2 spanish firmware and downgrading is not accepted in regular flashing mode. It seems the Axon M hardware from Vodafone Spain is not fully compatible with the Chinese Hardware Version - may be due to a different RAM memory size or other issues I don`t know.
I am a bloddy rookie in Android and I urgently seek help in my desperate situation. I am in Germany and the so called "ZTE service" overhere is rotten and does not want to help.
IHere all datas of my ZTE AXON M:
Model No.: Z999
Android Version 7.1.2
Android Security Patch Level: 5. Jan 2018
Baseband Version: P996A20B01
Kernel Version: 3.18.31-perf-g14adf9e-00895-gc9e03f7 / [email protected]
Build Version: AXONMB01-ES_MR00a
Hardware Version: ZTE AXON M T2
I can spend some tip for the saviour.
Thx for every idea.

Hi,
I guess the baseband firmware is not compatible with the chinese version because the spanish version has slightly different frequency bands. If you are able to reflash only the chinese baseband version. It might work again.

There's a new firmware Update out now for the chinese version. If you find a download, you may can flash it back to cn version now.
The update feels quite smooth but in the current version google play does not work properly what makes every google app more or less useless.

Please I need to run play store in my phone any help ??

For that particular model I didn't find (SM-N920F)
P.S: Checking my IMEI number, it gave me that the model is SM-N920T, how to understand that?

Now this is very funny:
Code:
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N920P
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
FAP LOCK: OFF
According to IMEI it is T-Mobile, now from download mode it shows the P version which is Spint.
Does that mean I can flash any ROM from the following: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N920P/SPR/

Before flashing, kindly check Swappa for the device variant.
The device could be blacklisted by either of the carriers and you'd get stuck with the wrong firmware.
If you still want to go ahead, then try flashing the stock 920P firmware but there is a chance that the device might get bricked due to incorrect firmware since your device has 3 different models.
Check with carriers first to verify the device and its exact model.

I didn't find any match for the device on Swappa.

Using IMEI showing that the device is not blacklisted or stolen.

Then the stock 920P firmware is a better option for Odin since this relates to the model mentioned in download mode.
The one mentioned in settings could have been modified.

Hello WindGhost did you solve this problem ? I have also a NOTE 5 F , still with 5.01 , and no official 6.0.1 around
But for me already the LTE isn't working perfect , i have 2 note 5 the other is a 9208 with have 6.0.1 and there the LTE ( or 4G ) is twice as fast as this F version ...
Also in android stated a F version and in BOOTLOADER a N920P.
Pls advice greetings.
If what you have is a N920P then you don't have LTE. N920P has HSPDA+ only.
I've got white N920F with bootloader N920PVPS3BPJ2. It seems it is really an unlocked sprint N920P. Cause despite having 4G icon in statusbar I see only HSPA in mobile network status. Thanks for pointing out this difference, now I'm more concerned about this.

Galaxy Note8 SM-N9500 need help.. Please !!

Hi all,
I have my phone , it's an Galaxy Note8... was unlock already because i can use with my at&t sim card even the logo when booting on was tmobile logo...
Well here the thing: i can make phone call and texting, using with wifi is ok, but it can't use with cellular data, even i turned cellular data mode was on already! Last night i went to Settings, and do the Factory reset. After that my imei was null / no imei... So i did try restarting on and off the phone couple times luckily the imei was appeared again - but with another imei not match the imei before !?!?
It's long story makes you guys get bored right? But i just want to ask is there anyway to flash this Model to an USA region ROM? because i search google says SM-N9500 is from China ... How to flash my phone to another ROM region and avoid of losing imei again plus can using on cellular data. ( mine was not root because i don't know how to ) ... Below is my phone informations..

I believe you need to get att to provision your non att mobile phone for it to be allowed to use LTE on their network.

All I can say is read here and you will learn. As long as the CPU/SoC is the same you can cross-flash. I am reading more and more saying as long as its ARM based doesnt matter, but safer than sorry. Please Note BE CAREFUL (AYOR aka- BRICKing, WARRANT VOIDING, ETC), its a little advanced for beginners.
My experience has been with Galaxy S3 and Note4 & Edge variant.
ALWAYS WHEN CROSS-FLASHING, REMOVE THE MODEM FILES AND BOOT-LOADER FILES. You will have to lurk about xda to identify these files. On older Galaxy Devices could tell you from memory what the boot-loader names are. Samsung in Increasing KNOX Security has added so many partitions its not even funny, its scary!
PS: I cannot and will not help with this project.

Could you do a adb system pull of your N9500SQU1AQC9 device. Im trying to port n920p with the note8 firmware. Nothing else will will port to the SM-N920P but the N9500. Im currently using the teleteam 5.2 s8/with n8 features. I want to go full note 8.

Asian H8296 updates in Europe

I use the Asian H8296 in Germany with a German provider.
On XperiCheck.Com I see that the firmware update A4 is only for customized hw and tk.
Not for customized DE like the H8266.
Does that mean that I won't get any updates, until I flash a H8266 firmware or use a Hongkong Sim card?
I only see the A4 firmware (8296) for CN on xpericheck. But to answer your question, no you don't need to flash another firmware.
Your phone will get the update whenever it is released for your firmware region, it doesn't matter where in the world you use it. So if your 8296 is on TW firmware, you will get it when Sony releases that one. If you were on CN firmware, your phone would have the A4 update available already.

I had the Honkong Version.
But I flashed now the German H8266 Version via XPeriFIrm and NewFlasher V13.
It deleted my entire phone (not the sdcard), but it was a good decision to get faster updates.
I got A4 and the entire 6GB ram are shown.
The complete OS is German and working perfectly.
Thanks for the info. Hmm, I might do the same then. I had the TW version (had to send it back because the speaker was defective), but the 8266 seems to get updates faster. My only concern was the ram. Does it ever show more than 4GB being used?
Is that the info you need?
PS
Don't install the cn china firmware.
It has no Google apps, but apps with Chinese names.
Nice, it looks good. Thanks! :highfive:
Haha, I had flashed the CN on the one I had too! I reflashed right away when I didn't see any Google apps.

Since using the German Firmware, I can use VoLTE and Wifi Calling.
Getting a HD Symbol while calling and still having Internet while only in LTE.

I don't know if the Romania firmware is optimized for your mobile network.
My average ram usage is 3.6GB
I assume, that it will consume more ram if you play a 3D game.
I also assume, that future android versions will consume more ram, so my phone is future proof.
I will use it or several years.

Hi, Martin. I also want to flash my Hongkong version as German H8266,
but I cannot find Oreo version yet, I can only find Pie version for German H8266 from Xperiafirm.
I have flashed this version, but it is stalled at accessing google service because I am in mainland China
Thus, I tried the French Oreo version because I found that at Xpericheck.com
For the Oreo, I can get into the system, but OTA to Pie is failed at the end of Stage 1 installation.
Do you know the reason, or could you share me the flashing image for German H8266 Oreo which can get OTA correctly?
Thank you very much.

You could flash the PIE version directly.
I don't know why the french firmware would refuse OTA.
Maybe it's your great firewall in china?
Only restricted google services are allowed in your country.

Android 13 One UI 5 Update Help Needed Please

Hello everyone,so with Android 13 rolling out for our devices,i would like to find out if it is possible to flash the firmware from one country/region on a phone from another country/region?
The reason for my asking is because in my country i still have not had any news at all about Android 13 and when it will be available. With updates coming out so quickly lately,i am worried that world-wide Android 14 will be rolling out already by the time the network providers in my country decide to finally make Android 13 available here.

Hello. Sure, you can flash other region firmware. Just be careful that it is accurate for your model. And one more nuance - in a firmware for different countries call recording and Samsung Pay may not be available. For example, firmware for India and Vietnam has native call recorder.

Question Need advice for the G998U/DS and living in France

Hi guys,
I need advice for the s21 Ultra that i bought on Rakuten. In the description the seller said it was an international/US version and at this time I didn't know that it could cause problems knowing that I live in France. I have the G998U/DS version
For now the phone is working perfectly. I don't have all the problem i can see in other thread like the broken GPS, a poor network, wallet broken etc. Everithing is ok.
But i need advice for the last update with Android 13. Actually i get the Android 12. And of course the phone does not offer me any updates. I know this is because i have a US version and i live in France.
So question 1 : Do you think I will eventually get the update in the future ?
Question 2 : If I install the update by flashing the phone, won't I have all the problems that others have with this us version and living in France ?
Thanks for your support fox.

If everything is working out of the box, then you shouldn't worry much. It's always better to install the update via OTA. It doesn't matter where you live/use the device, as long as there's an update for your device (Snapdragron chipset and CSC), it should automatically show up. If you want to install the update manually, then it's better to download the official update via Frija and install the update via Odin.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your answer. It help me a lot.
About the update, i read everywhere that where we live/use the device is impact the update. For now i don't have any update that show up. I am in Android 12 and i should have the android 13 update.
Lot of people said that i probably never had the update because it's an import us version and live in France.
What about that ? Do you thinks i will get the update in the future ?
Thanks again
It seems you are on a March update. I have a feeling your device's was a locked device which was then unlocked...I could be wrong through...https://samfrew.com/model/SM-G998U/ Here's what I could pull up regarding your device's update. You need to careful on which file you download as I don't see any OXM ROMs for US devices...they are provided by carriers.
Ok,
I think in my case, update will not be possible. I'll stay in Andoird 12 until next phone. Never buy again in Rakuten ahah.
Thanks for all your help.
Remove SIM, use VPN to connect US and try update over wifi.

Just try and not working but that was a good idea
When i chek on Frija, he give me this :
What do you think about this update ?
Edit : this firmware contains these files
If you are sure of the CSC, go ahead. The reason is yours is not OXM rom so you have to be extremely careful when choosing the files.

Ok, thanks, i think i'll do the update.
To be sure, you mention a OXM ROM but i can see that i have o OYN rom like you see in this screen :
I really can't place the device's region. There's no region called GCF in Samfrew. I feel it's a subset of another region. Dunno
Finally I did not dare to flash my phone, I am too afraid that I can not use it anymore
Anyway, thank you very much for your help
