I'm interested if the sound actually works. I'm running stock right now, so I can't check the sound.
I've converted the G6 Plus 1080x2160 AVI animations to 1080x1920; this should work on factory-based ROMs:

This isn't flashable, and be sure and backup your original.

What do you mean by "boot logo"?
Both the G5 Plus and G6 Plus animations start with the red circle-Moto logo on a blue background; I don't see a separate "splash" screen with the stock ROM like other device ROMs have.
Do LOS/AOSP ROMs have a separate splash screen?

Thank you. You're the first to comment despite 96 total downloads.
I had a user in another thread explain that "frames" bootanimation sound wasn't working for another 8.1 AOSP device and ROM. Your experience may very well confirm that. If that is the case, Google isn't interested in sound for bootanimations after 7.1; it makes sense, as syncing sound with frames is an impracticable nightmare.
Another test would be to try the official Google 7.1 ROM animation found here:

Look under: "Nougat 7.1 W/ SOUND - ***FOR 7.1 OR LATER ROMS/DEVICES!***"; there should be a 1-second sound at the end of the animation.
Sound still works with AVI-based boot animations -- if the ROM supports it.

Here is a boot animation I made and I thought some of you
might like it. Although I didn't make the main animation
I put quite a bit of time into it. I also made two logo.bin
files, one has moto at the bottom the other is motoless.
The logo.bin zips are flashable (thank you metpolds), the
boot animation is not. You know the drill: back up, rename,
system/media, 644, reboot. I think its worth a test drive.

*As far as I know the stock rom uses mp4 format for the boot animation. These will work if you are using stock rom.
**The boot logos should only be flashed on the moto x pure/style only!!! Stock or custom rom will be OK.
I have posted many of these now. Make sure to look at the entire thread.
*Found a couple things I didn't like. The transition between boot logo and boot animation is now seamless. It looks so much better. (Sorry about that)
There isn't anything wrong with the first files. You don't have to replace them if you don't want to. The new ones are better though.

FYI, When I played the gif animation in one browser the blue half circle just flashed back and forth. The half circle actually spins very quickly. The other browser I use played it fine.
I AM REALLY LIKING THIS ONE. Does anyone else agree or am I alone on this? This ones worth a look. Flash boot logo1 its really cool.

As for the boot logo, flash them with twrp. I've never gone back to my original boot logo but if you do a search on xda I'm sure you can find the original and flash it. Your device is moto x pure right?

It's needed to be resized. Current boot animation will work in it but it will look big.
Pixel 2 dark/black bootanimation mod magisk module has been added..

Hey! So I wasn't able to get this to change my boot animation. I know I have everything else setup right because other Magisk modules work, but when I reboot my phone with this installed the default boot animations plays. Any ideas?

Hey,
I just tried the Pixel 2 white on my Nexus 5X with Android 8.1 and I still see the stock animation. In /system/media/ also in /matisk/MODULENAME/ I see the Pixel bootanimation with right permissions. When I uninstall module and copy that bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ it works fine.

Got the same problem too. Installed it as normal, but still see the stock boot animation. Running on xiaomi redmi note 4 with miui 7.10.26 by xiaomi eu and magisk v14.3.

Stock Samsung uses .qms file as bootanimation, it won't support .zip bootanimation
You need to use custom ROM.

Idk what bootanimation format has been used in miui. May be bootanimation.zip not supported to miui.

Doesn't work.
Probably because Magisk isn't running before the boot animation, since Android isn't running yet for Magisk to do it's work.

Unzip & find out bootanimation.zip then unzip it too.. there will be all images. Also for correct resolution of your phone's splash just open file in quick pic & take ss for black bootanimation. For white, you need to put it on white background manually.

Razer phone uses nova launcher prime custom edition. The launcher is almost same and has same features as traditional nova launcher prime.
But if you want Razer phone boot animation I can provide that.

Yes, it work.
Checked it on stock 251 ROM.
After installing zip i see added over a hundred melodies in each stock folders - ringtones, notifications.
And couple melodies added in stock folder ui.
You can choose them via stock app Media Storage.

well it won't work on any other device because it includes systemui.apk and framework-res.apk from official build.
speaking of dark boot logo and animation maybe i will make dark variant thanks for suggestion.

Found it there. But that one is not working. After flashing the img, stuck at bootlogo.

bro there are lots of bugs in this one ui gsi,
bugs:-
(ril,camera,and many thing are totally broken)
( note: ur internal will get wiped so take a backup).

thanks bro but did you try it ? are these bugs experienced by you after installing the rom ? if you tried it, what did u actually do becoz it didnt even load in my case only bootlogo is loading...
