G6 plus and iris unlock - Moto G6 Questions & Answers

G6 plus is able to use unlock by Iris? I know you have facial recognition ... but what about Iris? Software can do this?

No.
Iris scanning is hardware-related and the camera is unable to scan an iris by itself. Samsung Galaxy phones have sensors to assist the camera.

secure unlock

Good day.
This maybe a stupid question.
I recently migrated from an Galaxy S8 to an Xz1 Compact.
Galaxy S8 had an function that i could keep my fingerprint stored in the phone even without secure unlock activated. So it was possibel to use the fingerprint sensor in other apps.
Is that possible in XZ1C?
Thank you.

Unfortunately not, every time you disable the fingerprint login the print is erased.

[Q] Note 8 Face Recognition vs Google's trusted face,Which on is better?

Has anyone tried and compared the note 8 facial recognition and google's trusted face, and can tell which one is better.
Though there is advantage for google's trusted face to improve face recognition, by adding face data in different lighting, but samsung's face recognition can be used in AppLocks.
If there is a post about it do refer to that post.
Face Recognition isn't the most secure device unlocking feature for a mobile device. As it can easily be curcumvented using a picture. I would recommend using either Iris, Fingerprint or password unlocking. As those methods of device unlocking are the most secure. Even the pattern unlocking method can be easily and quickly solved.

Yes, in 8.1 there's an option for Face Unlock on SmartLock.
In 8.0 it's also available. But not automatic unlocking one which modern smartphones are coming such as Moto g6

Optical fingerprint sensor - unsafe ?

It is very interesting when Google to decide that optical sensor is unsafe and we will have to use PIN for Mobile pay then it will be not usable for us I think.

I've actually had Google Pay ask for my pin several times when I was using my M20P to pay at registers. Maybe it started happening to enhance security but touchless payments actually work fine on this phone when Google asks for a pin. You just enter your pin and put the phone back by the NFC scanner and the payment gets processed like normal.
I use the face unlock for google pay, and fingerprint for banking app.
Neither can be fooled. It's nonsense and google trying to make life difficult for innovative mobile manufacturers.
