LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1.2 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit the Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Special thanks to ashwin007 for developing most of the code for this device. I've only added the SELinux policy for this device and rebuild it with the latest monthly security patch.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Excellent build! Thank you for making it on android 7!
For me:
The fingerprint scanner does not work, it is solved by goodix in the boot.
No backlight brightness adjustment for the navigation keys
The volume of the handset speaker on miui varies from very quiet to very loud, on all custom roms (including this rom) from medium to very loud (I do not like this especially when talking in a quiet room)
Instagram in the market writes that the device is not supported
Youtube behaves strangely (still testing it)
I use Russian and for me there are places in the settings that are written in English
I will test further and describe, I hope my feedback will help in the development of this rom!

The current patch is 5 July 2018. You can refer to the screenshot. I'll probably continue to keep it updated in the future.

I believe this is due to some of the devices using fingerprint sensors from Goodix while I've only written the sepolicy rules for the FPC variant.
Can you get the selinux denials and send it to me?
You will need to switch to permissive mode though. Use the SELinux manager module from magisk to switch to permissive mode.
Reboot the device, touch the fingerprint sensor a few times and run the following command
Code:
adb shell (not needed if you're using the terminal app)
su
dmesg | grep audit

Confirmed Confirmed,, FP sensor nor working,,after flash FP fix,,FP work

The fingerprint scanner should be a Goodix variant, I don't have the sepolicy rules for it yet so it so will need the SELinux denials from dmesg to fix.
As for the navigation buttons backlight, I don't think LineageOS supports it natively so I won't be adding support for it.
As for the handset speakers, they both (earpiece, loudspeaker) sounds quiet enough. So I'm not sure how much softer we can go.
Instagram works fine for me in the Play Store, same for YouTube too.
The language thing should be a LineageOS thing, perhaps it's because the translation for Russian is still WIP?
My build fully relies on Ashwin's previous efforts with only the Selinux policy added by me. I have pretty much no experience in porting yet so hopefully we can get the rom to be better.
Thanks for the feedback!

Don't see any denials related to the fingerprint sensor. When you set it to permissive, does the fingerprint sensor work? Could be something else entirely.
But your logs did help me realize that I missed a policy rule with the bluetooth service.

No, it didn't fixed but I flashed patched boot.img and fingerprint works now.
By the way safetynet doesn't pass.
ctsProfile: false
Rom is good and fast and since it's nougat rom, no issues in incall volume or quickcharging. Thanks

Boot.img for fix FP from Jay_b,,you can search on afh account Jay_b/pranav trivedi

So far everything seems fine but the CPU doesn't seem to go below 1600mhz causing a slight battery drain. Also the bluetooth mac address is not correct.

check via kernel adiutor in thermal settings and make sure only "core control" is ticked. if one of the other two is also enabled, this causes the CPU not to downclock properly.

Nah its nothing to do with that. I flashed the permissive version and it was downqclocking fine. The enforcing version seems to stay at 1.6ghz for some reason. Could be just myself.

This is an unofficial port of LineageOS 15.1 for the Zenfone 3 ZE520KL and ZE552KL.
It's a continuation of the great work on LineageOS 14 by @shakalaca.
In this post you'll find anything related to the ROM itself.
The second post is about extensions like Gapps and Asus Camera and the changelog can be found in the third post.
What's working/features:
Up to date kernel: Linux 3.18.136, CAF Tag LA.UM.7.6.r1-04300-89xx.0
Security patch level: March 5, 2019
User build, signed with my release-keys
Support for F2FS and EXFAT
Flipcover support via FlipFlap.
HW acceleration
WiFi/Hotspot
Bluetooth fully functional, with AptX
ANT+
GPS (+ Glonass)
Camera (Asus Camera mostly working, check the second post.)
Flashlight
Fingerprint
Mobile data and phone
Data roaming - read installation instructions!
Audio fully functional
All sensors working
Double tap to wake, Swipe up to wake
Touch gestures and on-screen nav bar
Notification/Battery LED
LiveDisplay
FM
Gapps
Substratum
Wireguard support
SELinux: Enforcing
Issues:
No major issues
Installation instructions:
Your bootloader has to be unlocked!
Update to the latest oreo stock rom.
In stock rom: Enable data roaming
If you don't do this you'll not be able to use roaming in LineageOS. (This also applies to other custom roms.)
The LineageOS roaming switch can be used normally afterwards.
Backup your internal storage to an external SD card or a computer. Internal storage should not be wiped but better save than sorry.
Download the LineageOS 15 zip file provided in the downloads section to your phone (or use "adb sideload" with a computer).
Flash the TWRP recovery I provided here.
Reboot to TWRP. Backup everything. I recommend storing the backup on a computer or the external SD Card.
Again in TWRP: Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik/Art Cache and System.
Finally you can install the LineageOS zip file and optionally Gapps. Reboot when finished.
(Always flash LineageOS and Gapps without rebooting in between!)
First boot will take a littler longer - If everything went as expected: Welcome to LineageOS 15.1!
For AsusCamera read the post below about extensions.
Download:
LineageOS 15.1 for the ZE520KL and ZE552KL: https://drive.google.com/open?id=15v4n4NCTnPtwO2xN_UnyKFuDKSVgloVc
How to return to build 2018-06-11 or earlier:
The following information only applies if you want to dirty-flash older builds. Factory-resetting the phone would make key migration obsolete.
If you want to return to build 2018-06-11 or earlier and are running 2018-08-11 or later, you have to migrate your data partition back to the test-keys.
Simply flash the "planet9_keys-to-test_keys.zip" from the "Key Migration" folder on my drive share to do so.
Future updates:
I'll keep maintaining this rom until Android P roms are stable enough for daily use.

Flashing stock rom also updates additonal firmware partitions and that's why your baseband is older.
In general this shouldn't be a problem. I just recommended flashing oreo so that everything is fully up to date.

Directly using this file on lineage 15 is not a good idea!
Phone services won't work anymore and it will then reboot to recovery! Don't try it.
Great, GREAT ROM! Stable and smooth! Battery endures the whole day.
The update made it almost bug free! And the remaining bugs are cosmetic for the most part.
Can't thank you enough. Keep it up!

The updates are flashable via TWRP. No need to reinstall. It's called Dirty Flash.

Thanks your work cheers :highfive:
Installed Lineage and it was booting, but had some problems with installing Gapps.
After 3 attempts succeeded with installing Open Gapps pico from sd-card.
In the first 2 attempts, TWRP gave error "failed to mount '/system_root"
I found this: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/pull/2496 , probably due to dynamic partitions.
Wifi, Bluetooth, pen are working, but gps is not working.

Yes, TWRP's support for dynamic partitions is still not fully finished.
Gps is working for me, but it takes a very long time initializing, that should be fixed with the next update (I'm currently working on including Samsung's september secpatch update on which gps seems to work faster)

Thx, keep up the good work!
I have uploaded an updated version with september vendor security patch which should also fix the gps issues
Dirty flashed the 0924 version, but i ran into the issue with system_root and got a bootloop.
After format with TWRP, clean flashed from SD-card and booted successful.
GPS is fixed!
I have uploaded a new version which fixes the /system_root mounting issues in TWRP (yes it was caused by LineageOS) but (only for this update, for the next ones it will work without reboot) you will have to reboot to recovery once the update finished to be able to install e.g GApps.

I think nanodroid patcher is not supported on Q yet. You can build this rom yourself with signature spoofing patch or you can also use xposed + fakegapps module, but I dont know if it works on Q, you can try it out.
Fakegapps with microg via magisk worked wonders
Are there any way to customise the cursor? It's quite hard to see using the default cursor

It can be changed using an overlay, but that would also change the pointer when using e.g Bluetooth mouse because both use the same pointer. I'll probably add that in the next build.

I think for most people using a mouse is not really important on this device (due to the s pen), thank you very much tho
btw, do I need to clean flash the next build or could I just dirty flash it + magisk when the next build rolls out (I don't particularly like google, so no Gapps for me) ?

Dirty flash should work but you should still make a backup! The other user only had to wipe because gapps failed to install and removing gapps requires a wipe.

Of course, a backup is always important for everything
Will await for your next release then, keep up the good work
on an unrelated note, SElinux is disabled on mine, is it because of magisk or is it because I haven't yet encrypted my device ?

EDIT: send me a .txt, the link does not working
I did wipe eveything and format data, I've tried the boot.img from the last lineage build (wifi/data worked fine on that build on my A705MN). So far no luck, ROM runs well but without wifi/data can't really use it for a dd. Got two logs, one for the wifi errors, other for the data errors.

Important Note :
My actual roms is intended to be flashed on OneUI 2.0 due to some updated blobs like FOD, so OneUI 1.1 support will be discontinued.
What's not working :
FOD Dimming (enrollment is fine tho)

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0.

I installed it and it works quite well.
However, after restarting it gets into bootloop holding the power button during the power-up animation helps and the phone does not restart
The ROM works well but there is an issue with the camera. We cannot use wide angle and macro camera with this ROM.
Is there any way to use the stock camera app on this ROM?
Please let us know.
Thanks in advance
Could you please direct us to unlock the full bootloader for RMX3085_11_C.09 version so we can install this os. Thank you.
