Sound quality with Type-C to 3.5mm Audio-Jack Adapter - Moto Z3 Play Questions & Answers

The z3 lacks a 3,5mm Audio Jack.
Luckily Moto provides an adapter included in the package. But the quality with this adapter is bad.
Sounds a bit muffled, not very clearly.
Anyone also got this problem?
Additionaly i researched and found that the z3 has a preinstalled equalizer-app called "Audioeffects" but it isnt startable and there is no way to configure it. Even when music plays, there is no notification as usual with these equalizers.
Just tested google play music (i have no subscription there) and there is a option which starts the "audioeffects" but no way in any other music-app.
Cant test if the settings there have any effect with the type-c adapter.
Does someone have any advice?

I know the difference between Z Play and Z2 Force. On Z Play really perfect sound at audio socket. Now on Z2 Force with Type C Adapter it's sounds good, but you can't get it really powerful. So I use this phone just over bluetooth. But Play Music App maybe better, will test it anytime. Have done a music abo. Bluetooth working well, very good sound so far. I think on Z3 Play it's not much difference. No panic, sound card is perfect. It's just without power Maybe anybody can help? What can we do for getting sound like on old 3.5 sockets phones?

Curious video through audio jack?

Just wondering if anyone had and remembers the n95's feature of video playback through the audio jack i still got my n95 cables and just wonder if theres a way for xperia to do the same thing? audio is fine of course
cheers
TV-out? X1 can't do it.
This has been discussed before mainly because the HTC TP has tv-out. Unfortunately, the X1 does not have the same tv-out feature as the TP.
Though wouldn't the more feasible thing be, if you have the cables handy, to try it?
Im pretty sure the xperia x1 lacks the hardware for tv out.
It doesn't, you can (if that's possible) connect to you TV or anything else via USB if you place it in storage mode.
I believe a phone having TV out is extremely useless.
And btw, a 3,5" jack only sends audio through your cables which is quite obvious imo..

3.5mm jacks can be modified to pass on more than just stereo audio (or receive); apart from optical digital audio I've had something that supported microphone in or something.
Well, the 3.5 mm jack from Xperia supports microphone in as well, doesn't it?
We all have got the headsets that came with the Xperia...
There's already a thread discussing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443271
Complete with pictures of the pins of the audio jack
a 3.5 connector can be used to transfer many things
had an old asus tnt2 video card with 3d shutter glasses which used
a 3.5 which I kinda doubt would do much good connecting to my x1

Line-in Android

Hi,
I would like to know if is possible (and how) to use the handset as a stereo digital recorder using the built in line in, or an external device (cheap if possible). The recording quality should be good, 44100 hertz at least. Thanks in advance.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Something like this?

I'm wondering also if it would work... 720p recording is pretty good as itself, getting full sound would make it awesome

thank you for the URL.
ther's an app that could record from this line-in microphone!?!
examples... I would like to recorder from my notebbok to my SGS through line-out & line-in (notebook headphones aux - SGS line-in), I have a cable with two jack, the first jack connected to the notebook, the other jack related to SGS

You will need more than that. SGS headphone port contains contacts for headset L/R out and mic-in/TVOut. You need to find a special 3.5mm plug that contains extra contact, in addition to the normal L and R contacts, to tap into the mic-in pin. And you will also need to have a circuitary to convert line-out audio level to mic-in audio level (very different).
As far as app goes, there should be a voice recorder app already on the phone.
maybe there's a stereo bluetooth microphone? this should work and might be better then a home-made line in cable. The microphone input for the handsfree (3,5 socket) is mono so there might be no option for stereo line-in.
Bass Guitar Amplifier to Android?
Hi,
I'm looking to record audio via a line between my Bass Amplifier (It has a Line Out port) and my Sony Xperia U (Standard Headphone Jack).
From what I read elsewhere, I need a TRRS adapter; these aren't easily available in my country (India). Could anyone point me towards alternate methods to acheive the same result?
Thanks.
EDIT: Alternatively, I'd also love it anyone could point me towards an application that works as an amplifier, that is, accepts direct input from a guitar.

Bluetooth headphones

Hi!
I have a B7610 Windows Mobile.
Sometimes it annoys me that I have to pull out my phone to change the song.
I had (still have) a PSP and it has a nice remote attached to the cable and I can change songs with it.
Is there such a device that could allow me to change songs in my Windows Mobile?
I use currently S2P, but could change it if there is a better player (for this remote control feature).
I have noticed that there is only 3 data types in the only input - headphone jack, so don't think it will be possible to add the remote there, so I think the only solution will be with Bluetooth. Also I always wanted wireless headphones...
Btw, it would be really nice if the bluetooth device would be just a device with a headphones jack, because I like my current headphones.
But my priority is to get this remote control feature!
i have a sony MW600, it alows me to change songs, and have a standard 3.5mm jack so you could still use your preferred headphones. downside is that the screen indication does not display songnames and i dont know why.

I hear that the best quality is from AKG and Senhizer. they make studio monitor headphones as well so they know how to create good product)

For absolutely FANTASTIC sound...

I know a lot of you are anxiously awaiting the voodoo port to our phone but I just wanted to let you know, in case you hadn't heard, that even our stock ROM supports external, driverless DACs and amps. I am using an ODAC and O2 headphone amp but I confirmed FiiO E7s also work so I presume any high-quality DAC will hook right up.
I just got an OTB host adaptor (micro to full size USB), plugged my DAC/amp into the USB and told the ROM (settings>Accessory> Audio Output mode (checked to use external speakers when plugged into a dock) and told the HDMI output to use stereo since I have only two ears and use headphones at work.
The sound, once you've bipassed the DAC internal to the phone is, as you might expect, exemplary- eerily crystal clear and quiet with outstanding dynamics. Since the ODAC is very efficient and the E7 is internally powered neither solution should have any major effect on battery life. Once you've heard an external DAC on this phone you'll feel as sad if you have to use the headphone jack again as you no doubt felt when you tried to use an old "tiny" phone as getting your GN2.
I was quite disappointed with the (for me) relatively poor pen support (I was expecting Newton - like integration), the missing multi-tasking, etc but this feature makes up for it all- if you like music, try it and I guarantee it'll bring a smile to your face whatever else is going on with your day. Poweramp and Music, by the way, support 320k VBR, FLAC and lossless AAC no problem- it just sounds wonderful.
Interesting! I've been really surprised at how great the sound is just using bluetooth audio in the car. Can you provide links/ specific models for these items? Found the FiiO E7 on Amazon, not bad pricewise. I have an OTG thingy I have used with my Nexus 7 but haven't tried it yet with the Note2. I'm using KKR headphones at home and could see going portable with the right setup. Also not above putting stuff together in a box, been playing with Arduino's lately.
Also, assuming the Note2 is the center of my future portable sound world (just got the 64G Sandisk at Best Buy) what format would you recommend for ripping my CDs? I brought some to work today to rip while working but haven't really looked at the various lossless solutions. I would like to get some kind of replaygain-like functionality. Currently using DeadBeef for my player but open to the best solution there too.
I use the fiio e17 . you need a great pair of cans to basically get the best sound.
(I am working on a project to create and 3d print a case that will contain the phone and the fiio. will keep you posted.
I finally tried connecting my Hot audio Dac destroyer (want to get a new dac) to this phone and it seems to work! Used it with my Akg q701's so I think I also need an external amp.
If the sound is coming out of the dac's headphone out is the internal dac of the phone bypassed or if not how do we do so?

This is relatively widely known, there is a USB audio thread here and it is mentioned in the Sound Quality thread here in the Note 2 subforums
I demonstrate it in the video below, and also did the same in my S3 video of the same kind. I'm using an RSA Intruder with mine, and get the Leckteron UHA-6S.MKII in the post in a few days to try out as well.

[Q] few quick question about microphone

Hi! few quick questions:
1. Xperia Z have OMTP or AJH 3.5mm jack connection?
2. If it support OTG, external microphone would work with XZ? if yes how to enable it in app(if you dont use apps like USB Audio Recorder Pro)
3. its possible to get stereo sound on video, using external mic(plugged to 3.5 jack)? Or its always automatically change it to mono when you plug headset/mic to mini-jack port?
4. Anyone know good video app with more options than stock one?
5. Anyone used external mic for recording?
Because my friend use iPhone 4s with simple chinese stereo mic(really small one) and he just plug it and get amazing stereo sound, but when I plugged it to my xperia Z I got crappy mono sound...
PS. Bluetooth is not an option because as I know/tested every device limit mic quality to 8-10khz/mono

I dont have mood for jokes, an beside I'm not idiot to buy new phone just because one small thing doesnt work on it(and beside that sound quality of z2 or even z3 compact is not better than on my z, and buying it just because its compatible with sony external mic, its stupid).
