Note 9 is supposed to have identical camera with note 8, but the algorithm improved!
please let us show the photos made by note 9

I am going to be very interested to see how much improved the Note 9 is over the S9 camera.
Edit - I have over 50 photos in my review. The photo part starts around 13 mins and 5 seconds. The start of the video is filmed using the front camera on the Note 9, and the last few minutes is video from the rear camera.

Not much, maybe just the algorithm

Note 9 camera is NOT identical with NOTE 8 camera. It is identical with S9 Plus camera - the biggest difference between the Note 9 and Note 8 camera is the NOte 9 has a Moving Aperture - like DSLR camera's have. The Note 8 does not have that. (it was introduced on the S9 Plus)
Combine that with the new AI stuff being added and I think it really does make the camera that much more special.

I ordered yesterday from Clove in the UK- (I am in the US and want to get the N960F varient - so my order went thru for the 126GB varient. I really wanted the 512 but the cost is just too much - I can't spend over 1200 on a phone....but I came close - LOL

As my girlfriend daughter get Samsung Galaxy Note yesterday, I asked her to send photos took with Note 9 in different daylights. So I'll post soon.

Why are low light pictures look more yellowish than my note 8. Note 8 colors are more accurate.

Pic

Here's one I took, in auto with Scene detection on. If you goto the first page in this thread, my review has 50 plus photos in it, like this below.
Feeding time #galaxynote9 by Gavin Fabiani-Laymond, on Flickr

Utah State Capitol

Gallo Pinto

Unedited JPEG, this was a slightly long exposure handheld shot
(apologies for the image not being rotated properly but that's an easy fix anyway)

First one is the first pic with the phone in auto the second is live focus. Lighting was on the dim side with live focus so it's a bit grainy but still a good pic to me.
View attachment 4586714 View attachment 4586711

Taken at Disneyland CA with auto mode on.

I was extremely impressed with the camera. This is a very challenging pic with the natural light coming from behind the subject. Surprisingly the camera was able to maintain the focus in the foreground as well as the clouds in the background.

Asus Nexus 7 camera versus iPad 3 frontal iSight photos, what do you think?

Why are the ipad pictures a quarter the size? Does it have a significantly lower resolution or something??

I agree with markj338. The quality of the pictures from both cameras seems relatively poor, but that is to be expected. It was hard for me to tell if either was better but I would lean toward the N7. (I'm a little biased. What can I say?)

The pictures are almost the same size when I'm viewing them. I don't know why the iPad pictures are small for you.
Sent from my Paranoid Nexus 7
The iPad pictures are smaller for me also. And I also agree the camera is only good for conferencing. N7 does look a little better to me as well.
Why iPad 3 photos are smaller?
iPad 3 has frontal VGA Camera at 1.3 MP and pictures are at resolution 480*640p (send via mail and also imported by iPhoto it's same quality) while N7 camera is at 1.2 MP but pictures are at 1280*800p. So in forum you can see them in differently size.
Flash is not a problem, both haven't that.
Errm they are only webcams.....

Hey hey theres no need for that...
Back to the ACTUAL disscussion the N7 blows the iSight out of the water even for a 1.2mpx ffc that isnt supposed to be taking pictures in the first place it does a relatively good job . Thanks for comparison.
You should have resized the Nexus 7 images to the same as the iPad 3 for a fairer comparison. :good:
They look pretty similar to me. Though the camera isn't really meant for taking shots like these, so the test doesn't say much, they're really for face-to-face chatting.
The iPads color seemed washed out

If you're running a comparison, the way the photos are presented matters a helluva lot.
Since this is annoying the hell out of me, I've fixed this for you.
Ok sir, no problems.
The differents sizes was another point to discuss, N7 photos resized at 640*480 can remove something in quality but ok

Performance - the best QHD resolution phone I tested so far. Smoothness 95% as they is still slightly 3 seconds delay opening recent apps, the briefing add on is not well done especially the open effect, it is not pull out but jump out. Hmm... sometimes they is still slightly jittering when minimise apps and also during scrolling 2nd apps under multi window.
Real Camera - extremely awesome, I believe the best so far in day light, night shoot wise second best. Today later will do some comparison with iPhone 6 plus. The taken time is extremely fast, no single delay event at night.
Front camera - great for selfie, bright and clear. The wide selfie wise is not as easier to use as promote.
Screen quality - I give 95% as well. If you dimmer down the screen then you will notice they is slightly color shift at bottom part at white background. It is more easier to see the wave on bottom end when you put the phone horizontally and look closer to eye. I check others demo set at Samsung store and all same. Please don't purposely check it if you never seen it. But this is by far much much better than my previous Note 3 AMOLED screen. Beside this, the screen is absolutely awesome! The best AMOLED screen I ever seen and use.
QHD resolution - is this gimmick? Hardly to said, seriously I can't spot any differences compare with FHD. Oops! It is not like HD to FHD that kind of big differences wow!
Battery Life - surprisingly great! At least the SOT is better than Note 3.
Touchwiz UI - the best ever by Samsung. Flat nice design and finally can put folder inside apps drawer everywhere back not like initial release in S5 UI which can't. They is two draw back compare with S5. Why Samsung remove the color selection for folder! Also the new briefing is badly implement compare with S5 one. Beside this please implement way for disable or moving to bottom the S Finder and Quick Connect at notification, it is annoying as sometimes I do accidentally click it when clicking the clear button.
Samsung widget - I love all the Samsung widget, this time all well done with flat look semi transparency especially the main clock weather widget.
Bloatware - I don't find any extra Bloatware this time. Those keep complaining Samsung is bloat shall really go check it out before judge. Also if you use China phone especially Xiaomi then you will know what is really call bloat.
Loud Speaker - far louder and better than Note 3 but put back at real is really a big wrong decision. Why oh why you move from previous great bottom location to real. Now I truly miss my HTC One M8 awesome stereo loud speaker.
IN OVERALL I GIVE SCORES OF 95%.
Some random shoot.
Here some night shoot. All auto mode. I am impress with the result.
More photos coming soon.
Note 4 (wide) vs iPhone 6+ (square) Part 01
- all auto mode with HDR Off.

exactly.
this feature has been removed! I went to a store to see a NOTE5 and could not use the "CONVERT TO EDIT" the note 4. I'm using the rom erobot port 11 note 5 and also has this function. It would be great if the dev could include this user function in rom there would be best!!
I too am missing the convert to edit on my Note 5. Out of all the features, this is the one I actually used and Samsung removed it from the Note 5 software.
Too bad.
I wish I had seen this before I spent over an hour on a call with Samsung trying to figure this out. Convert to text is definitly missing, so all you end up with is the ability to slice the image into sections of smaller images. Very disappointing.
I bought the note 5 only because the camera set + photo note. If all we open a complaint with Samsung we can force them to fix functionality.

Hi.
it is easier to ask a developer of xda here to create a solution. using the rom note 4 believe is possible.
Very frustrating and disappointing. Worked so well on ythe Note 4, used it at work all the time for snapping whiteboards. Note 5 less than useful. photo note......not really. Should have renamed it to photo chop. The note functionality is gone.
I found that the app Office Lens works like the former version of photo note. It creates editable text after using it to take a picture.
Samsung replied my email
Dear Jorge,
Greetings from S Note! We sincerely apologize for the delay in reply.
With every new version of S Note new features are added while modifying and removing some features.
With Note 5, Photo note feature has been modified to exclude the text conversion.
Photo note will only allow to select particular portions in the picture and insert in S Note. Text present in pictures can not be converted to editable lines in S Note.
But as we said earlier with every new version features are added, modified and removed. Text conversion feature in photo note may be introduced again in future versions of S Note.
We can not confirm if this will really happen but there is always a possibility.
Hope this answers your query well.
Thank you for keeping with us. We really appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
We would love to hear more from you regarding your complaints, queries and suggestions to help us improve your experience with S Note.

Hi, honestly I'm not trying to hijack this thread. Just need some clarification.
Is the Photo Note app the same app that was on the old Note 2's and Note 3's where you can take a picture and makes notes on the (virtual) back of the photo? I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge now and that would be one of my most desired features! Is Samsung NOT putting it on other phones because there is no S-Pen? If it does have the same functionality, is there any way to get this Photo Note apk so I could use it on my S7E? Thanks in advance!

The note 8 is not capable of 4k60 or 720p960.
Op, believe me, some one with the abilities required to do something like the one you asked for, would do it if interested to have it for his own device in the first place, so you will have wait patiently, reading and searching untill some one makes and posts mods or ports that are of your interest

I remember Last year someone added 4k 60 fps to NOTE 5 with a Mod, so Note 8 can easily handle 4k 60 FPS. Its all about CPU not camera sensor.
Note8 sensor is not capable of doing that, but the real question is:
Are you able to add a damn question mark in your title? God...
I remember reading something last year about the exynos being restricted from 4k 60fps because the snapdragon version was not capable of doing it, obviously that could also have meant that they used a lens capable as it would not be necessary anyway

Camera (night mode) Very Disappointing

I had a P30 pro briefly at launch but only just picked one up again. My motivation was that outside the current iPhone and 4 XL it should be the next best camera (and in some areas better)
The thing is so far it is massively disappointing, night mode especially actually to the point where I am starting to wonder if I have a faulty device. So far night mode shots are really not that impressive and absolutely worse than the S10+ and Mate 20 pro and not even in the vicinity of the 4 XL or iPhone which I was not expecting at all.

Post some sample shots?
This is not scientific at all but I'd qualify this by saying that I was a professional photographer in a previous life so like to think that I understand lighting.
As I say not scientific and I've to been able to shoot them side by side, #1 is the p30 pro #2 the 4xl in arguably lower light.

I am not a heavy night mode user, but yesterday I notice some kind of violet like fog in a couple of pics taken without touching settings. There was no visible fog in the sky but it was very visible in all pictures taken to the sky or the road in front of me.
I don't use night mode at all unless I need a full exposed shot of the entire scene. P30 pro has 500k ISO and you can maximize it's high ISO capability when you tap on the dark portion of the scene to properly expos it without the need of using night mode
I noticed that Night mode is actually same as just taking a photo. Literally you hold phone still for 6 seconds, and you get the same result as when you just tap and shoot in auto mode.
Something must be wrong there..
The difference is subtle between night mode and photo mode. You capture more detail and dynamic range in night mode. Especially if you set the ISO value low. But the difference is hard to see on the phone screen. On a desktop computer, it's quite dramatic. So no need to mess with night mode if your pics will only be viewed on your phone and posted to social media.

If you looked at the (i) info for each photo you'd see there is a big difference in how it takes the shot / settings used, for one thing normal auto mode you do not need to hold the phone still for X seconds...

I did some further tests vs. P4 Xl and s10+ and think the p30 is better most of the time BUT that when there is any movement at all the pixel is better.

your seriously think those pics you posted will aid anyone here? When comparing photos, try to use the same framed shot.

I have to strongly disagree about night mode. I got my p30 pro yesterday and HAD to test night mode. It was very dark and the pic looks as if I took it during the day.. just WOW...so kool! I love this phone. The battery charged 100% the next morning %99. Then use it off and on and right now %91. I again LOVE this phone.
