I believe to flash back to China Rom which version is less than 9.5.17 or should I say the ROM without rollback enabled is prohibited by Xiaomi unless you have the EDL Authorization access in your account. I'm not sure how to get this EDL authorization. People are saying that if you have this EDL authorization you may flash to any rom. If I'm wrong, please do correct me.

Sorry to say, but I see hundreds of reports the last days about bricked phones.
Mostly about the Xiaomi redmi note 5 pro and the Xiaomi Mi 8.
Xiaomi doesn't want to give authorization for edl. so sorry to say but you can trow your phone in the trash bin.
Nothing will solve your problem due Xiaomi policy, u can't repair your phone it useless.
Xiaomi official statement is buy our products in your region.

You should have flashed a Xiaomi.eu rom. They are completely translated, without any China stuff and aren't as aggressive when it comes to flashing things alongside the kernel and system ( for example, you get to keep TWRP even after the flash, unlike pure stock ).
A lot of people mentioned an EDL account but you have to wait for a decent amount of time to get approval from Xiaomi. Don't throw your phone away like the guy above said. xD

Has anyone tried to install the rom china developer with Chinese PC Suite 3.0? Being a newer version, you should let it install.

Move from fake rom to official rom?

Hi everyone. Im really new to Xiaomi devices. So here is my problem. I bought MI 5 with fake rom, it is common in my country. The rom version is 7.2.8.0.0(MAACNDB).
How to move from that fake rom to official? Does EDL mode still works for that rom version? Because I read somewhere that EDL is no longer work since 7.3.x.x and later.
I tried to flash MIUI 8 global from updater and it failed, after booted the rom remain the same. I also tried using MI PC Suite, when I hold shift and flash button (in chinese of course ) but it shows dialog reboot or fastboot.
Any help would be appreciate,, thanks
I just tried using EDL method and it worked in my case. Thanks everyone, even there's no comment yet . Now im ready to rock!

Mi8 global bricked after full TWRP recovery

Hello, so unfortunately during installation of xiaomi.eu rom i ran into some trouble (infinite loading) and as i usually do in such cases i wanted to revert to the TWRP backup of the global stable rom my device was shipped with, that resulted bricking the phone and now i'm unable to power it on.
I've already seen that in such cases you're supposed to flash CN rom over miflash in test point and it's only possible if you have the authorized mi account. I have some questions though:
-do i have to flash the cn rom via miflash even though my device arrived with the global rom from the very beginning ?
-what is the test point (disassembly and connecting the pins) for ? do i have to do this even when mflash already recognizes the COM port with my mi8 ?
- i tried to flash a fastboot rom through miflash but i'm getting a " could not receive hellopacket" error and timeout, is it because i did not do the test point thing or is it something else ?
I've never bricked a phone before and i'm quite worried about it, i'm going to an authorized xiaomi service after the weekend but i'd like to know if there's anything possible i could do on my own first.
Is it a serious issue that could ruin my phone for good ?
Thanks in advance
but i didn't even get to the point where it's asking for authorized account, it says 'could not receive hello packet' in miflash

Accidentally Locked the bootloader with the custom rom installed

So I installed a custom rom in my new k20 pro lately, and accidentally locked the device after installed the custom rom inside. Now, my device is refusing to open the new rom and stuck in redmi recovery mode. It said that "this MIUI version cant be installed on this device". I tried to unlock the phone again, but xiaomi said that it takes at least 30 days to unlock a new device. Im kinda sad and confused about this, please help.
How did you lock the bootloader with custom ROM installed?
Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using Tapatalk
Try this older version, http://www.mediafire.com/file/j2d5f89fgvc3aq9/MiFlashUnlockToolV.2.2.406.5_%281%29.zip/file
Helped me when accidentally locked the bootloader again..

Did you try to flash custom rom using miflash?
Hi! I have the same issue on my Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (It was Chinese) but it came unlocked with xiaomi.eu rom.
After i installed a global rom, and google wallet nfc pay did not work, so i thought okay i will lock it then so maybe wallet would accept it, (with the eu rom it worked before) so i put the device in fastboot and used fastboot oem lock on cmd...
And from then it stucks on miui recovery 5.0 screen, and says, this miui version can't be installed on this device...
I might not enabled oem unlocking before i shut if off, but i added it to my mi account so i dont know if after a week i can maybe unlock it. But i think the other possible solution would be to sideload the original chinese stock rom, which is for M2102K1AC, Mi 11 pro, codename mars, but i couldn't find it anywhere... If someone can upload a link to it, that would be a huge help! Or any idea! thx!

HI! i got a mi 11 pro 1 year ago, and it was offically chinese, but it came unlocked with Xiaomi.eu firmware, but i could't update it via the updater app, so i searched and found the global star version and just flashed it, everything worked, only now google pay nfc didnt work, it said that its probably because of the unlocked bootloader, so i got to fastboot and in cmd i sent fastboot oem lock, and since then my phone is stuck in miui recovery 5.0 screen and says that i cannot run this firmware on the device, i tried to unlock it but failed, maybe after a week, but i think that i didnt turn on oem unlocking on the phone itself before this... So im just hoping that after a week unlocking could be done... Or my other idea is, that i could install the original chinese rom with sideload, because i managed to install another global version on it since, but the result is still the same, the only problem is that i cannot find literally anywhere a mars codenamed firmware...

Anyone who might have the same situation, i found a simple, but effective solution, not sure if it works on every xiaomi device, but i will write down the steps here:
You need to use XiaomiADB, here is the download link and the description for how to use it -> https://xiaomiui.net/how-to-use-xiaomiadb-8044/ (if the page is not available, then feel free to msg me!)
For xiaomi adb, you need to go to 3rd option on the miui recovery screen, NOT THE FASTBOOT
So basically i went through the steps to “xiaomiadb sideload_miui <filename>”
And I tried to install a rom, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT!
The message was:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> Can't install unofficial rom
after trying 4 times all the same and: Installation of this rom via stock recovery is not allowed by Xiaomi
Says Installation failed, and then i just decided to download another rom so i PLUGGED OUT THE PHONE right after this, and went to another room to connect to wired network, to download and try a different rom... when i came back, to all my surprise, the phone was turned on, so i went to the setting dev ops and enabled bootloader unlocking, linked it to my account enabled adb and everything that is needed to flash another rom later, so then i rebooted and again, miui recovery 5.0 screen, but now i enabled unlocking, so i put the phone in fastboot, and tried MI UNLOCKER TOOL again, now it says: Please unlock 168 hours later. And do not add your account in MIUI again, otherwise you will wait from scratch.
So that means, after 7 days i wll be able to unlock it, until then, i can turn it on with the above method, in short try to sideload (copy and install) a rom to it, and then after it failed, plug it out and just wait like 10-20 maybe 30 seconds and bam your device is normally booted... I hope it helps to some of you, (i have been searching for the solution for almost a week, my other option was to pay someone who can MAYBE do it or send the phone back to china and pay the repairs, so im really happy with this method! If it helps to you, please reply so i and the others will know that it worked! Have a nice day!

Clicked on wipe and lock

Hi everyone,
I have a k20 pro and it was working fine but never got updates so I decided to update by flashing.
The device was unlocked at the start, i got MIUI 12.5 global and flashed with miflashtool.
but wipe and lock was active.
now the phone comes up to the recovery menu and says the miui version is not for this device.
When I try to flash to another version, miflashtool says the device is locked,
when I try to unlock, miunlock says go to settings >developer options> mi unlock status.
Gave it to a repair shop for 1.5 months and nothing. I live in Iran so no authorized service centers here.
I have access to fast boot mode.
so is it dead?
Fastboot flash recovery.img?
If you have access to fastboot your should be able to flash a custom recovery. I would recommend flashing miui eu roms (via custom recovery) over the official miui. Eu tends to be a little more optimized and a fair amount debloated.
Worth a try?
Well I can't flash anything i think, but i'm a novice.
See when i try to flash anything with Miflashtool it says the device is locked.

I'm guessing you have a Chinese K20 Pro.
Your phone is now hard bricked and there is nothing you can do to fix it by yourself.
You can not lock a Chinese phone when installing a global ROM (also true the other way round).
The only way to fix the phone is by EDL flashing. This can only be done by someone with an authorised Xiaomi service account.
There are people who will flash your phone remotely, for a fee. The best place to ask is on the K20 Pro /Mi 9T Pro telegram group.
If you find someone, you will need to put the phone into EDL mode before they can flash it. This requires removing the back and bridging 2 pins near the battery. You should be able to find videos that show you how to do this.
thanks mate.
I will bring it to another shop then and see if they can do it.

Question Bootloop and locked bootloader Xiaomi redmi note 10 pro, I have tried a lot of things

Hi, I'm starting to say that I'm kinda new to this "things" so:
I have received this xiaomi red mi note 10 pro with the miui (or whatever that logo is) infinitely stucked and never boot the system;
Now I have googled things for 2 long days and I have done a couple of things, but the result is:
I tried to flash new ROM in many ways, but no succeded (with miflash and other softwares) except for one software (honesty Idk if I can write the name here) that through ABD flashed a new ROM that I select; firstly I selected "sweet" ROM, but then the result was nothing new or better and so I repeated the process with a new ROM called "Chopin" (always related to Xiaomi redmi note 10 pro).
No better progress BUT the image and graphics of the bootloop of the phone changed so my initially thought was "wow something changed" but nothing else, always bootlooped:
I started to repeat the process for every ROM related to redmi note 10 pro but in the end the tragedy comes:
Now I'm stucked with the phones in bootloop and I cannot enter in recovery mode ( but I can enter fastboot) because the phone keeps spamming me the battery low icon without a reason (I kept it in charge for like hours) so without the recovery mode and the miassistant option I really don't know what to do.
there isn't the mi account associated to the phone btw
Chopin? Then I think bricked.
My opinion: try to flash via fastboot and miflash and the right sweet fastboot ROM
