How to remove forced encryption via edited fstab.hi6250 file for P10 / Plus - Huawei P10 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you how to remove the forced encryption on Emui and Treble Roms.
The change is persistent as long as the vendor partition isn't updated!
First of all your os must be rooted and a backup is made because this will format the data partition.
Download Mixplorer and navigate to /vendor/etc/fstab.hi6250.
Copy the file to a safe place on your SD card or pc in case you need to restore the original state.
Open the fstab.hi6250 file as text and search for
"/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata /data f2fs nosuid,nodev,noatime,discard,inlinedata,inlinexattr wait,check,fileencryption=aes-256-xts:aes-256-cts"
and remove ",fileencryption=aes-256-xts:aes-256-cts"
Now save the file and reboot to recovery and wipe data. Keep in mind if you're on twrp you've to format data additionally.

(For elite Rom_hasanmirza)
1-Restore the backup file (If you have a backup of elite ROM)*needs change file system Data partition
Or
2-Flash twrp elite (last version)
*Wip all partitions (no SDcard)
*Change FileSystem of DATA Partition only to f2fs & FORMAT Data otherwise phone wont boot
mount data while installing rom, format it again and check filesystem from change fs option,if its f2fs, dont change it again
*flash EliteRom

Some folders/partitions are not encrypted

Hi, I have a problem. Some of my folders are not encrypted in twrp file manager. Inside folder /sdcard and /data/data are displaying folder name correctly, which that is the sign of unencrypted folder. But anything inside the folder /data/app are encrypted. I dont know why the my phone only encrypt some part of data. I have previous xiaomi phone that fully encrypted everything in /data and /sdcard partition.
I was unlocking my device, i installed twrp and formatted /data there, then installed only miui global beta rom, no magisk, encryption disabler, or etc. After finished everything and put my data to phone storage, and also set lockscreen pattern, i rebooted the phone once so it will encrypt my data at first reboot. After that I installed twrp again via fastboot because it has been replaced by stock recovery. Went to twrp file manager, and these problem happened.
Do anyone experience this? I need full encryption for my phone privacy and safety.
Note: any current twrp version no one has support encryption, so normally it wont able to read anything inside /data partition.

decrypt without data lose

Hello everybody,
I flashed some rom from other forum which changed my vendor(i guess by twrp messages) and I forgot to flash disable force encryption zip, so now i have encrypted storage, no system and some different vendor which wasn't on my device by default. I have access on twrp and fastboot and all but how can I install system on encrypted device without losing my data(factory reset to decrypt storage) phone?
Edit: by data I mean internal storage not app and rom data. I already wiped them.
copy data to pc or in pendrive using otg then proceed

oneplus 3t change file system data from ext4 to emmc

Hy i have problem my phone after half an hour after of fresh instal (factory reset) change file system from ext4 to emmc,
when i wipe It than I can acces in storage, but for now is 0mb avilable, i tried to flash dm verity but my phone on first start up

I have installed magisk and elementalx kernel
When I get in twrp it ask for password
Could I make a back up, and than change file system to ext4 and restore files?
sory for bad english
I solved the problem, if you lose your memory and ask password when you turn on twrp, just type yoar pasword to
unlock yoar phone or "default_password"

I am not sure what you mean here. ext4 is a file system. but emmc is a date storage device , on which you can create partitions which then you can format with a file system of your choosing such as ext4 or ext3. Can you describe what you actually did?
When i get in recovery, twrp ask me password if you not put password you can't install anithing you can yust wipe.
You need to put password when you get in and than is ext4

twrp 0 mb

If you are using twrp from this thread, it's mentioned on the 3rd post

Q: TWRP can't mount data partition, what to do?
A: Make sure you formatted data partition.
Q: Why do i need to format data partition?
A: Because old rom encrypted your data partition and new rom can't decrypt and use that content / root needs access to data partition to place misc files / phone not booting after flashing root until data partition gets formatted.

or maybe try to disable data encryption which is mentioned on the 1st post

After booting in TWRP download and flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1 zip to disable data partition encryption
If for any reason you fail to install TWRP multiple times/different methods, make sure you check this thread

You need to format /data with the "yes" confirmation.
The stock ROM will survive, because it's on /system and /preload.
After that you need to flash a fully patched kernel with removed forced encryption (like a2n kernel) before you reboot to the system. Otherwise the stock kernel will encrypt the /data partition once again.
