after i download the att odin file, i can't extract the files. it says file is corrupt, i downloaded 4 times, all same.
i have an unlocked 960u1 unlocked usa note 9 variant and want to install ATT stock firmware.
is it possible to do it?

On another thread you posted the TMO firmware. You said that if you don't use the USERDATA file and then Factory Reset then it'll automatically get your Carriers bloatware and features. I'm planning to install this on my USA unlocked note 9 so I can get the ATT HD Voice, Wifi calling, etc. What would be the difference if I use or don't use the USERDATA file from this?

Can we get a re-upload or mirror? The one available is corrupted.

Downloaded and did not find a home CSC file?

Anyone know if I could flash the AT&T files on the international N960F model? Was hoping to get LTE, wifi calling/HD Voice.
What would my results be if I did flash?
Thank you in advance for any knowledge you could provide me.

guys, i haven't touched an android phone since note 3, 5 years ago.
please correct me if i'm wrong:
i got unlocked n960u1, unlocked usa note 9.
i'm trying to:
1) download odin (i believe it's version 3.3 patched)
2) download and install samsunng usb drivers
3) download ATT stock firmware (from this thread)
4) enable developer options on my phone by tapping baseband version 10 times (already done)
5) phone on download mode by holding vol down + byxby + power
6) connect phone to pc via usb
7) extract att stock firmware zip file. select each file (bl, csc, etc) to odin
8) start with oding after clicking on each individual module from the att stock firmware.
9) voila!
now, question:
is all of this correct?
i believe my phone has a locked bootloader, so would the above steps work? or do i need something like safestrap? (this is what i used to custom rom my note 3 back in the days).
can i flash att firmware into my phone even though the bootloader is locked?

[Q] Galaxy note root queries

Hello,
Now I am sure this forum gets it's fair share people completely oblivious to rooting and such. The issue is I have bought a Galaxy note and have had it for 4 wonderful months so far. It's unlocked, i.e not bound to a network.
2 months in I tried rooting my phone, and well it was very clear and simple (through the youtube video, linking to here). A month later I also got Kies to finally work and updated my phone kernel, unfortunately I had no idea that with that the root disappears. I went to try and get my apps to work in the university which have their own proxy setting to access the net (which I have finally gotten used to), the apps however do not work and thus the need for me to root my phone.
The query (I apologize for the long winded post):
I currently have the kernel version
2.6.35.7-N7000XXLC1-CL1003701
Ok so I am aware that I will be looking for kernels portraying the LC1 version when rooting, however it seems that there is no easy way of rooting (as the youtube video I watched) for my current specific kernel.
I just would like someone if possible to guide me exactly with what to do, do I really need to root my phone or is there a way to get apps to go through proxy without rooting again?
Also, how would I root my phone this time? What files would I be loooking for and how simple >.> are they.
Thank you again for your time,
I would appreciate any help, but I beg of you please keep it as simple as possible xD
You have updated your note with Kies, so you lost Root. Kies/OTa update erases root.
Anyway, now you have option is to downgrade
You can find any older directly rootable ROM from here N Root as you did it earlier.
After rooting, dont use kies/OTA to update.
just use same thread (as shown above) to find latest ROM, N update using CWM OR Moble Odin Pro.
wheres cwm?
Hey doc. I followed all your instructions and all is well but i was just wondering how do i get cwm back? I have updated the kernal and the phone is still rooted but no cwn (mobile odin latest update states that they have removed the inject cwm) so i was wondering if theres anyway to get it back? Thanks in advance

[Q] Need

Currently using my first android device! Samsung galaxy note 3 for att and I decided to root it. I am currently running 4.3 but want to update to 4.4 in hopes of fixing some gps issues i've been having. I tried to use ODIN to load up the stock 4.3 firmware but have been encountering some errors. My phone no longer turns on, when it does it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue" please select recovery mode in kies and try again. I have downloaded keys 3 and tried to recover it using that but no luck. Am willing to post screens or answer any questions you guys may have!.
Are you on 4.4.2 or 4.3? If you're on 4.3, have you tried the MJ5 restore posted in the general section?

Im on 4.3. I've only tried using Odin and kies which have both failed me. what im about to try is "androidrootz.com/2013/10/how-to-unrootunbrick-at-galaxy-note-3.html".. can you link to your suggestion?
I'm not sure how to copy/paste links with Tapatalk, but if you go to the general sub form for the AT&T Note 3 on this website it should be on the first page. Look for a thread titled "MJ5 restore and optionally provides root" or something along those lines. It's a somewhat long process that can be intimidating at first, but if you read the directions and follow them exactly you should be good to go.

S5 Mini SM-G800H Firmware update fail

Hey guys .. I have tried to update the firmware on my Samsung S5 Mini using all versions available in the firmware section in SamMobile and it always fails just when it starts the system.img.ext4. I have tried all available versions on several PC's, using different versions of Odin and using different usb cables !
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Please note that I have used the same PCs to update other phones such as the Grand 2, s4 mini, s3 and they all worked well !

You need to initialize your phone through Kies 3, Kies 3 has a way of re-flashing your device to the latest official firmware for a certain model with a certain Samsung serial number, i.e. even if your device is bricked and Kies 3 cannot detect it, you enter it's model and Samsung serial number and Kies 3 will download and flash the firmware for you, all you need to do is open Kies 3, power up your device and connect it to your PC, you will then open Tools menu and select Firmware Upgrade and Initialization, if Kies 3 can detect your phone it will show you the version of the firmware that will be downloaded and flashed then you will proceed as instructed (very simple procedures), if not you will be asked to enter just your model (for example SM-G800H) and your Samsung Serial Number (usually starts with R can be found on the sticker under the battery) then it will show you the latest official firmware for your device and if you proceed it will download and flash it for you, but be careful (this will be noted by Kies 3 too) you should get a full backup of your phone as it may wipe out everything on the internal storage in the process if it's required (i.e. a bricked phone to the extent of wrong partitioning that lead to loss of imei), needless to say this process depends on your internet connection (it downloads prerequisite files and firmware files which are relatively large), from little experience I have, it's best that you use the conventional official method for any product rather than unconventional ways at the beginning to solve any problem related to any product, if it doesn't help then try your best with any other method that might help you (by the way I tried this with more than one model of Samsung smart phones, tablets and notes and it always ends up solving the problem, in some cases with my friends devices reviving the device again after being totally bricked), hope this helps .
Note: all devices I used this method with were original devices straight from Samsung (International Versions, Unbranded & Unlocked), so the firmware comes straight from Samsung (no modifications done by operators / carriers) so I'm not sure if it will work for other devices (Fake Cloned, Locked or Branded devices with carriers specific settings)
Update success
Yesterday I updated firmware to G800HXXU1ANK2 latest over Odin 3.10 without any problem. Everything is working fine, Wifi is faster than before. Waiting for CM 11 anyway.....

Cannot flash anything through Odin

So here's my problem. I bought my Note 4 (SM-N910T3) with 5.1.1 and rooted. As soon as 6.0.1 released, I downloaded and flashed and then rooted a little later. I started having some small issues because of the root so I did some research and found a systemless root method on XDA that was a possible solution. At some point, probably from flashing MM, my Baseband and Bootloader got updated to the newest at the time. That was fine at the time but I starting missing some of the features of 5.1.1 that got removed in the update. So now I'm looking at iB4STiD's Rapture ROM which is build upon stock 5.1.1 but I've hit a pretty major wall. No matter what I try, how many times, I cannot flash anything through Odin, besides 6.0.1 that I haven't tried. iB4STiD provides the Baseband and Bootloader files to flash with his ROM which are for my specific model.
Now, I've read in a couple places that you can't downgrade your bootloader but that sounds weird to me so maybe someone can explain more if that's correct. Now for some info:

You can't downgrade T3 via ODIN once you upgrade to MM. So basically you are stuck with latest bootloader.

Yea that's what I was afraid of. My next issue though is I can't seem to flash ANYTHING via Odin. I even tried a stock rom that matched my current bootloader and it gave me the same error.

Use PhoneInfo application from Playstor to check your exact bootloader version and post it here. The error from your 1st post shows only when you try to downgrade.
I believe I've got the same problem (N910T, I tried to downgrade to 5.1.1 so that I can install Rapture v8.2), except in Odin it stops at system.img.ext4 then fails. I tried restoring with my backup through TWRP but now it's giving me this:

Basically I'm stuck with Odin and TWRP, I have the 5.1.1 firmware which doesn't work, and I'm currently downloading the 6.0.1 firmware and hopefully I'll be able to get it working again after this 2.2GB file finishes downloading with my 10mb/s internet -.-

Custom Binary blocked by frp lock

So I rooted my phone and rebooted. The OEM unlock must've been disabled somehow, and now I can't get the phone to start up. I tried flashing stock firmware, and it fails with SW REV check fail device 2 binary 1.
I tried getting stock firmware from sammobile but it's always corrupted, despite me watching the download very closely and watching it finish. I tried everything right down to flashing a new bootloader and frp lock blocks all of it. I have scanned google for the past 48 hours and contacted sammobile about the corrupted zip. I haven't gotten anything back yet, but I really want to get this phone fixed asap.
2 questions:
1. what does the error SW REV check fail device 2 binary 1 mean.
2. Can I flash any official firmware or does it have to be my specific firmware, and if I force it what damages are there.
If at all possible, does anyone have a copy of the note 5 rogers (nougat) rom. So I can try to flash something not corrupted.
Any help I can get is appreciated.
On a side note, I haven't been in the rooting scene for a long time (since kitkat) what new developments should I watch out for to prevent further issues.

You can download the latest stock firmware update N920CXXU3CQE1 For note 5 in samupdate or samsung mobile or any other websites to fix frp lock and the error SW REV check is about the sboot file when you update your phone you update sboot too , so samsung won't let you flash older firmware with older sboot file ....

I got an email back from sammobile saying they fixed the file. Downloaded it, flashed it everything works fine now.
Stuff I learned.
1. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TURN OFF OEM UNLOCK
2. Always keep a stock backup.
3. first thing you should re-flash bootloader.

They were, I already knew about sammobile, but I wasn't particularly trustworthy of the ones you mentioned.
Thanks though.

Good to hear that , did you get your phone install the update ???
Yep. Everything work 100%
Made this reply on the phone.
And for anyone who hasn't kept OEM unlock enabled..
Once I ran my battery down to 0% on MM. Upon charging I was FRP locked. Go figure..

Hello people. I hope I can get some advice. I seem to have done a REALLY DUMB THING and unchecked the box in developer tools and .... sigh ... turned off OEM lock (there was an instruction about unlocking the screen. I know. DUMB). But now I have a bricked brand new note 5. I am downloading the firmware that should go with my nougat 7.0 and am hoping to be able to use Odin 3.11. I tried to use the Mac version Jodin but that didnt work
Any thoughts> advice? I know ... I screwed up big time and should have known better
Thanks !!!!!
What was the firmware before you bricked it?
I'm not sure what the security is on the frp lock but I'm sure it's either a tag in firmware or checksum. If it's checksum you might be screwed unless you were running stock. Did you update the device to nougat before you turned off the oem unlock?
Try the actual odin. I'm pretty skeptical of other versions. If you need another firmware I still have mine.

I was running the most recent Nougat that was OTA after I bought the phone and then used tdunham;s [How-to] Root your Device - all versions + All Firmware Download
I managed to get that to work and it was fine (rooted) but then I did the dumb OEM uniock
I did an android backkup on the phone befire I screwed it up but dont know how to get to it. Maybe flash a TWRP tar file?
The sprint firmware I downloaded is a zip file. But I guess thats not going to work with Odin
So ,what next?

Extract the zip and try to flash the tar.md5 file.

You will not be able to use your phone again until you flash a complete firmware via Odin. You, me and many other are having the same problem on the latest Sprint Nougat firmware (DQF1). Heck, I had it twice yesterday until I noticed OEM Unlock was disabled.
Flash the DQF1 via odin, you won't loose personal files like photos but after that the phone will be buggy so you may want to do a factory reset.
I had to ask: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/fml-custom-binary-blocked-frp-happening-t3637070
And this guy: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/sm-n920p-frp-fap-lock-help-asap-t3637438
And you.
Fix: Flash a complete stock unmodified firmware via Odin.

When I try to extract the zip (on my mac) I get a message that says "unable to expand .... into Downloads". It could of course be a corrupted file, but I dont think so.
Any chance or way of getting to TWRP (maybe odin) and reaching my nandroid backup (which i figured was "insurance" against a screwup"? I could try to odin that, and am thinking of doing ir later
If all fails, do I just throw the phone away? I hate that idea
So, how do I get the firmware that I can flash via Odin???
As always, suggestions welcome.

Firmware are downloaded from http://www.sammobile.com/
Search for the SM-N920P and download one. It will take like 2 o 3 hours to download a .zip, inside the .zip there is a .tar.md5 file you will need to unzip, that file that Odin will recognize and flash. The DQF1 build will work, you just loose all the mods and root. (Avoid Macs if you are gonna tinker with Android)

I downloaded that file (it took a long time but I do have it) it's a zip file but when I try to open it my mac says I can;t. I have an old Pc that I installed odin with but for going back and foth and downloading my mac is much faster, (I transfer files to the PC using a USB)
I'll check to see if sammobile has a md5 for their file. But I guess I MUST havve that tar file

Thanks so much but there is now NO NEED
Here's a happy ending: I went to the local NYC Sprint store, the tech guy in charge was terrific, no sermonizing, he took the phone in back and after maybe 15 minutes came back with the very recent (QE1) firmware installed
I have it back, unrooted. But WORKING
Thanks much. And I must say I found the level of service from the Sprint store guy a real relief

Frp lock bypass on galaxy note 5
First of all you have to download firmware combination file for your galaxy note 5 with the same model number as your device have. Then you can easily flash the AP file with odin3 and your phone will turn on..The user interface will appear different but you will be able to access oem unlock feature in developer options.
Then turn of the oem lock.
Then you can download stock u4 firmware with 4 files AP+CP+CSC+BL
and you have to flash all these 4 files while your phone is in download mode.
After the procedure your phone will be unlocked and you are good to go.
I hope that this article would be helpful for all those people who have got their phone blocked by frp lock

Is there any way you can help me with this? I've downloaded 3 different firmwares, created a combinary using the tool with each of them but every time I push them via Odin, it gives me "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 6, BINARY: 1" and the other two times it was BINARY: 2 and BINARY: 4.
What am I doing wrong?
Do I just have to wait for someone to come out with something flashable?...
My RP SWREV is B:6 K:1 S:2
FRP LOCK: ON
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLED
