Stereo recording - Samsung Galaxy A6 Questions & Answers

Anyone tried to record sound in stereo with A6+ ? On my previous Android, I used to use Hi-Q to record sounds of nature (birds) and other life sounds. Always in stereo 44kh.
But now, even though Hi-Q says I'm recording in stereo, the recorded sound is mono. I've tried all options, snd many recording apps, and the result is always monophonic recording. The sound quality is very good, but not stereo.
I know it needs 2 mics to have stereo recording, but as far as I know, our A6+ has them. So something 's not clear here.
Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately no, A6+ does not have 2 mics so you can't record stereo sound. On all samsung phones with a secondary mic, the mic is on the top side of the phone. As you can see by this picture, it does not have a secondary mic.

Bluetooth Microphone only?

I wonder if any of you know the existance of a bluetooth microphone so I can record a class. I love to be able to leave the mic close to the instructor desk and be able to record with better quality.
I am using my mogul to record with the external mic and it's fairly good for the distance btw the device and the speaker, but I have to do some audio editing in order to hear a clear sound.
Anyone? or maybe another solution for this?
Thanks

))) i don't know )... the sound is so low..
It actually could be possible, by using a second mic on the 3.5 mil port. The thing would be to allow it to record with the 2 mics, since it is very likely that the external mic would cancel out the internal one.

Suggestions for a wireless microphone for video recording

I'm interested in using my phone as a camcorder to record my video blogs. I haven't been able to find any information on
A. Changing the microphone settings for video recording
B. Wireless microphones that work with our phone's
Thanks in advance for any info you may have.

I'm guessing that there's no solution for this.
I've considered using my blue tooth headset as the microphone receiver because this feature is available in Easy VoiceRecorder Pro but I don't see any setting adjustments in the video recording setup.

I have built this adapter http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36038426 for using an external mic. Can't use it yet cause I lack the mic
Also you can look for fm wireless transmitters in evilBay. They sell really cheap and can record from very far.
Answered my own question
I was able to record sound from my Plantronics blue tooth headset. I'm not happy with the sound quality but I am happy that it works. Now I need look into purchasing a bluetooth microphone. Any suggestions??
Terribly sorry for wasting a thread. Hopefully this will answer someone else's questions about this feature.

Trying to record from my bt hands free with easy voice recorder the app informs me that the max audio quality that a bt device can record is limited to 8khz which explains your disappointment. So the bt solution is not an option.
My first question is whether the built in camera can use a bt external mic?
or is there an app that would?
also, Im using the samsung hs3000 for my external headset and the device has a built in mic which i thought would make it a great bt lapel mic...
i'll have to break it out and see if it works (or look for a camera app that enables the use of an external mic)
I was able to use my bluetooth headset with the camera app but not with my voice recorder app. The voice recorder app gives very poor sound quality when using the Bluetooth headset.

[Q] Is the HDR microphone used for sound recording?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone with a HTC One M7 with HDR mic could record loud audio with the voice recording app, or an app like "Smart Voice Recorder" which allows you to select the sample rate at which to record (it has an option for 44.1Khz CD quality on it), and see if the recording is distorted at all?
I'm asking because Nokia's phones which have a HAAC mic utilise the HDR mic when recording video, but when recording audio only, loud sounds are distorted which means it doesn't use the high quality HDR/HAAC mic, and apparently no one'd written a windows phone app that uses the HDR/HAAC mic when I asked last year - can someone confirm things are different on Android?
Of course running a custom ROM may mean the HDR mic isn't supported in the first place (referring to this thread).
Would be great if someone could experiment and find out what's what!

Possible to use an external microphone?

So, I recently got my unit and been trying to get it to work with an external microphone. I have puluz shotgun mic that connects via 3.5mm jack. I have a headphone adapter so I was trying to get it to work with open camera. No dice.
Anybody got an external microphone to work?

I've not used a proper external mic, though I've a Mi Youth wired headset that works just fine.
I read of someone being unable to get a usbc mic to work

I'm planning to use the shotgun mic for videos so I wouldn't have to get a label but if I can't make this work, I doubt a label would.
I've only tested it with my mic so I don't know if it's a compatibility issue or not since I tested the mic on my PC and it works just fine. I hope this is not a hardware limitation.

Not sure what you mean by "a label" (maybe a lapel mic?)
Also I'm not sure if my post was clear that the mic function of my wired headset works fine.
Suggest you have a look at the poles on your microphone jack. Fwiw my headset has 4 poles, though I couldn't tell you which is which.
It tends to be that poles 1 and 2 are left and right audio, 3 is ground and 4 mic - it's possible that Xiaomi use a nonstandard set up on their devices but unlikely.
Depending on the poles on your mic you could probably pick up an adapter plug to switch the poles about or else use insulation tape to blank off some of them

Yep. Lapel mic. Auto correct kept changing it. I bought an adapter so I would have 4 poles but still not working. I tested the mic if it actually works and it worked fine in my PC.
Boya Lapel mic Works with POCO F1
i tried Boya mic with default camera app and it does not work.
I tried with other third party camera app from Play store which allow us to customise the mic settings
I set external mic in the setting and shot a video. Boya works fine with poco f1
Whixh third party camera app?
I've tried open camera but it doesn't work with my BOYA BY-MM1. Can you please share which camera app you got your pocophone to work with an external mic.
A microphone and an app to record sound properly
If you go to this link:
a2zapk.com/345718-easy-voice-recorder-pro-2-5-7-b11089-paid-a2z.html
you have the "pro" version of this app, is really pro. You can record in .WAV lossless if you change it in settings, also in stereo and with 48Khz...
Download it, go to setting and change everything to the maximum quality.
Also have a noise reduction and echo reduction
And the mic can be:
BOYA BY-M1
I hope you like it! :good:
Works with the open camera app

I used open camera. go to setting and change audio source to external mic. The default app doesnt let you use the external mic is a shame. I am creating a video checking the quality of the mic right now, will post it in a day on my youtube channel trouvaille -by Aamir
This is the best Android app for recording audio (interview etc), also good for video shoots to edit & sync later:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.pfitzinger.rec
I have the same problem on my poco f1
I tried using my lapel mic, boya mic, shotgun mic all mics faiked to tecord soubd through external mic. The video gets its sound from intetnal mic by default. I ttied all settings but no use.
Its a shame we are not able to use external mic on such a device with good video capapbility.
Not tried any third party apps yet. Plz suggest the besy one that really works.
I use a USB mic blue snowball. With a USB c converter and software from play store. That works.
Some info on 3.5mm connectors on this page: http://www.epanorama.net/newepa/2014/09/15/android-device-external-mic-wiring/
Most (if not all) android phones use the AHJ pinout.
Any solution for this?
Which type is Pocophone?
