How to fix zoomed in (Cropped ) video while recording in 1080p in 60fps - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Please help
This happens in Open camera, Google camera (almost every mod i tried )

It's because of EIS. You can disable it but you will get shaky videos. Every phone cropes video with EIS enabled, so nothing to worry about.

You can turn off Image Stabilization in the setting of video mode.

It's designed that way.

How to record 4K video with EIS on MI A2?

Which app can record 4k video with electronic image stabilization? what is the best, prooven method to record videos with eis. 4k resolution is important to me...not fullhd
I have tried Open camera, (which doesnt have 4k mode when camera2api enabled)
gcam wont record 4k...i have tried min. 50 ports of them from celsoazevedo.com
footej camera zoom in video in 4k mode, i am suspicious about its stabilization
ultracorder has eis...is okay only for slow motion, beacuse focus is awfull
SnapCam HDR....lot of noise
so guys, please advice, prooven method to record 4k with EIS.
PS. I am currently on Havoc Rom...:good:
I don't think A2 can record 4k video with EIS enabled.. Because as far as I know this phone only capable to record 1080p 30fps/60fps with EIS enabled..

You are not right, when using stock rom without camera2 api enabled, you can use EIS on 4K with Open Camera, and it is really stable... Problem is how to use EIS when camera2 api is enabled, because of that you loose 4K option in open camera. I am using Snap Camera HDR for now, and for good lighting conditions it is more than good 4K +EIS. You just need to turn down sharpness and you will be noise free...

Can you provide me more detail please... Because I just know about EIS on 1080p... By the way I'm on Pixel Experience rom with camera2 api enabled..
Try Cinema Fv-5 app, it can record 4k with EIS. You can use the app without root or camera2 API enabled. You can also control the focus, White balance, exposure, ISO, and some more. Just go into settings (in the app) and click on video icon, then select 'Show extended video resolution'.

No video stabilization in pie?

Just got updated to pie last night. This morning while I was testing camera settings, I noticed that video stabilization is missing in the default camera app settings. in Oreo, I can stabilize videos (except 4k and 16:9), but now, it's simply missing. And test shots confirmed that there is no stabilization (optical or what so ever) anymore. That just sucks. It was very useful to take videos of my kids playing while running after them. Now without it, all the videos gonna be garbage.
Any idea how to fix it? or just simply accept it as it is?
You've got stabilisation in 1080P FHD enabled by default. There is no option for stabilisation because it's enabled by default in supported resolutions.

Which makes is quite useless for pro use with a gimbal or other situations where you want stabilisation off. Great camera hardware by Sony, lousy software to control it by Huawei.
When you dont want ois and want use gimbal, then use another resolution
4k example

This was my thought too at first. Then I tried Full-HD 30 FPS with my gimbal and it works fine! Also FHD 60FPS and 4K work too, as expected.

? Not doable due to after processing constraints.
I'm still on Oreo, I just extracted the Huawei Camera APK with APK Extractor Lite. Can someone on Android Pie try to install the old camera apk (if installing is successful) and look if stabilisation is working again?

Ois works for 1080p 30 fps / 16:9 only.
It works in:
- 720p 30fps
- 1080p 30fps (both 16:9 and 18:9)
There is a workaround, if you want to shut it off. Go to video mode ( not pro mode), turn on beautification. The OIS stopped working, but you're stuck at 720p 30fps.

I think it is the EIS (software stabilization) because the OIS is built into the lens, it seems to work in all resolutions.
The EIS crops the video a bit, and tries to reframe it to cancel harsh movement. But it compensates (in my P10 phone at least, which model seems also affected with the bug) to wrong direction turned 90 degree. If You move up-down, it compensates left-right for me, causing more fake shake recorded.
Hello! So reading this feed, it sounds as though the stabilisation is still working for the Huawei P20 Pro cam, but just the option to turn this on and off has recently disappeared. Weird. Why would Huawei do this? Is the stabilisation definitely still working on all resolutions barring 40? My eyes suggest otherwise.
