-V2 04/10/2019 : Fix the call Hang bug (i guess cause sim card slot doesnt recognize my simcard hardware failure so test and report) and some optimisations
***NOTE*** to USE Omnirom 4.4.4 with art and GAPPS you need a supported gapps packages this is a link for gapps working on art http://www.mediafire.com/file/typy3b6nq94r48f/GApps_Light_4.4.x_signed.zip/file

Hello.
First, thank you very much. It is working really fine.
But I have a problem, I can not receive calls. I can make calls, but when someone calls my number, my phone does nothing. It is working with cm11. I've tried several sim cards, from different companies, none worked. I've looked for usual solutions, but no luck.
It is a shame, becasuuse this is working much better tahn cm11. Do you think there is something I can do?
Thanks again.

This is really AWESOME work Shadow Of Leaf! Many thanks for this great mini 2 Omnirom 4.4.4. :good:
I didn't know that you are still developing for the mini 2. I have discovered this latest KitKat rom just some time ago. It works in almost every regard better then all the previous CM11 builds. It is again somewhat more fluent (speedy) and is out of mine view less laggy when comparing with the previous builds.
However, - as already mentioned there is only one grave issue present. I also don't receive any calls.
I think the problem is located in the mobile network setting or a different mobile network driver. As network type UMTS is showed, - all the previous KitKat builds showed (in my case) HSPA or something else but never UMTS. I tried to enforce "2G/3G Preferred" and "2G/3G Auto" but they wouldn't be accepted. It was possible to set the Network to "3G Only" and "2G Only" but the call receiving still doesen't work.
Furthermore when I make a call and want to hang it up, - I can push the red hang up tab but the call will not be terminated. So the call is still open but it is not visible (at the phone) that the call is still active.
As mentioned in some other threads, - my mini 2 has baseband version S6500XXMD1.
Whatever, - you may fix this in a future update. It would be great if you can include one brighter background file, - the two standard one are quite some dark.
Yes, and yours TWRP 3.0.2.0 works absolutely stable. Much better than the previous TWRP version.
Will send you for all this work a litte donation. Kind regards,
lorn10

Hello
Thanks for your amazing work
i upload a new version that possibly fix call hang problem so test and report
and about ART problems i think the GAPPS is the issue so i left a ART supported GAPPS in the changelog

Many thanks @Shadow Of Leaf for that new release. :good:
Unfortunately the link regarding the new build seems not correct, it points to the previous "omni-4.4.4-20180817-jena-HOMEMADE" release. Also the internal build date seems the same. Or has the new build the same name like the old one?
If yes then it would make sense to add a V2 to the filename.
Regards

You Welcome
yes the name and build of V1 and V2 are the Same because i didn't build a new one
it is the old version with bugs fixed (i think)
you try it ???

Hi there Shadow Of Leaf
Thanks for the fast replay. Unfortunately the "hang on" issue is still the same like on the V1 build. It is not possible to hang up the call, - it stays open in the background.
The overall performance is really nice for that old phone hardware, - especially when the ART runtime is used. It feels a little bit better then CM11. And with Open Launcher v37 (v40 runs less fluid) the phone UI is looking more modern. Because of the smaller screen size, Open Launcher has to be adjusted somewhat. For everyone who want's to try it, I have uploaded in the attachment a v37 mini 2 config file. (I get the Open Launcher package from that side: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.benny.openlauncher/)
Unfortunately Android ART works only stable with certain really old GAPPS packages. The problems starts when these are updated automatically, the Google Apps stop working and are crashing randomly. I hoped that this problem is CM11 related, but Omni ROM 4.4.4 has the same issues. So this is most likely a fundamental problem of KitKat. It seems that Google has not designed the newer GAPPS packages Android "KitKat ART" compliant. In conjunction with ART, they may work properly only on "Lollipop ART" and above.
However, if I remember me right, I have read sometime something about these KitKat ART limitations. That may be a strange idea, but is it possible to "back-port" certain portions of Lollipop ART, like in the ART dex2oat tool, into KitKat? https://source.android.com/devices/tech/dalvik Well, maybe it's possible but the effort would be far too big...
Kind regards
lorn10

Here follows a short addition, - I have found an interesting XDA topic regarding KitKat ART vs. Lollipop ART. There is discussed the theoretical possibility to use the Lollipop "libart.so" in KitKat: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/using-libart-android-l-kitkat-t2805745
Well, as assumed by me, this will be a BIG project. It's not so simple how it looks, the KitKat "libart.so" can't be just replaced with the Lollipop version. This concept to backport certain portions of a newer ART runtime back to KitKat is more a theoretical possibility, - not practical. A Backport of a "Android Go" version for the mini 2 would be more realistic then that...

sorry for the bad news
i think that i fix the hang on call bug but it seems sophisticated one
i will try to to build a new version for s6500 and for s6500d also ( i don't how im gonna test it out, cause my sim card place in the phone seems to be broken)
for the ART i think in kitkat is just a preview for developers to test it out , not like lollipop is seems stable to use it
for the theory i think its possible but it need a lot of work and could not work (lollipop and kitkat are not alike so it well be a miracle if it work)

years late. but ... I have the S6500T version, all rom that I install fails to start
the apps are updated, but when it reaches the home screen the message "shutting down" appears even though the rom has started normally

Figured id try it out. Running great so far, boots up fast! GPS is working, i have not yet been able to try IR remote.
Only problem i encountered was flashing xposed arm. Which has worked for me on CM nightlies and AICP.
Thank you! Excited mainly to see battery life. Which has been a problem for me on other LP roms.
your welcome

Playing around with things more ive noticed a bit of lag in transitions, animations of menus and such. Opening the dialer is a big one. Almost like things are opening faster than it can keep up with, if that makes sense.

flashed new version, still having problems with phone calls. I can hit answer but get silence, screen goes black then have to hold power to reboot. Does this have anything to do with modem? Im getting 3/4g data like normal. On the plus side, everything is more smooth than previous version so glad to see some improvement :good:

Glad to share with you my builds of CyanogenMod 13.0 (Android 6.0 Marshmallow) for Nexus 4 (mako).
These will probably become obsolete when CM will officially release nightlies for our device, but if as me you can't wait, you can flash it as usual zips.
It is important to note that *at this time of writing* (october 2015), things are not that stable in CM sources. I fixed various issues to make this, and I deeply test everything I build. So, even if I plan a release every day or two (and also depending of my free time in life), nothing will be out if it is too much unstable, I release only "usable" builds.
[About this build]
- Require bootloader/radio from Lollipop minimum
- Contains all CM (kernel, system, ... )
[Note before installation]
- I suggest you to backup your app data with Titanium Backup if you want to restore your apps later

- Gapps (Google Apps) ("Micro" gapps works pretty fine on mine).
[How to Install]
- Boot in recovery (TWRP - please use latest)
- Wipe Data, System, Cache, Dalvik-cache
- Install the ROM
- (Optional) Install gapps
- Reboot. If TWRP prompt you to install SuperSu, deny it.
"But hey! I want Root !!"
So you want root on your Nexus 4 !
At time of writing this (october 2015), root doesn't work *from scratch* Marshmallow/CM kernel. So I included into this, "StephanMc Kernel" for mako, which is basically the same "stock" kernel (the CM one is stock-based) with SELinux set as permissive to allow root. No more adds or tweaks, just a root-possible stock kernel.
All you have to do is install SuperSu and it is good to go.
- Download SuperSU Beta
- Flash them Super Su
- Reboot
- Enjoy, you're now rooted !
[Some recommandations]
- Enable Developer Options: Settings -> About -> tap 7 times on Build number
- Enable USB Debbuging
- Enable Offline APK installations: Security -> Unkown sources
[About Titanium Backup]
- Titanium Backup is fixed since build 2015-11-05
[Where is System Ui Tuner ?]
- Expand the Notification bar until you see the Settings icon (on top right corner)
- Hold on the icon for about 5 seconds
- Congrats! You can find System UI Tuner menu into Settings -> just under "About phone" menu
[About Snapchat ? ]
- Snapchat crashes at login with Marshmallow. You can workaround this by downgrading to v9.9.0 (google it), then log in the app. Once done, you're free to update it as usual if you want.

- See attachments
[Working / Known issues]
** Not working **
- (Annoying) When In landscape view, notification panel redraw itself also on navigation bar (fixes coming soon)
- Switching from 3G to 2G network seems not working (fixes coming soon)
** Working **
- Everything else
- Some gapps can lead you to wierd "force closes", please make sure you choose a working one.
- Any other issue found ? Let me know
If an application crashes, please first go to the "Application Info" screen in Settings, and make sure this app have its required-to-work permissions enabled. For example, Browser app need "Storage" if you need to download from it.

Well, It's a very early build, I don't think CM13 will become daily ROM until december
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Forums
I am quite excited about this build.
But at this point, bug reporting isn't very helpful I guess.
Still, I will give current feedback.
1) download manager seems to crash alot. Or at least the browser being asked to download crashes. Dolphin has its own downloader and does not crash.
2) Chrome (Final or beta) crashes... But It's odd because you get the prompt that it is forced closed but it stays working, and works ok after clicking ok. But the prompt happens often so it is not comfortable to use.
3) sometimes auto screen off, like when reading something and the screen times out, can be very slow to reactivate the device. First time, I thought I had to force restart. Phone completely stops responding for a long time. But only sometimes.
I guess it would be more helpful if I provided a cat log but I only remember that I did not install an app for it yet. I can provide in future if you need.

@stephanmc did you make any changes in the source before compiling ? Im having some framework/overlay errors when trying to make my own build but don't know if its the problem in the source or my build environment because I'm building on OSX El Capitan.

Thank you for your report.
"1) download manager seems to crash alot. Or at least the browser being asked to download crashes. Dolphin has its own downloader and does not crash. ".
=> It works if you enable "Storage" permission in Browser Apps info in Settings. Many not-updated apps could crash if they not handle well the new Marshmallow permission system
"2) Chrome (Final or beta) crashes... But It's odd because you get the prompt that it is forced closed but it stays working, and works ok after clicking ok. But the prompt happens often so it is not comfortable to use. "
=> Fixed in latest release 2015-10-31
"3) sometimes auto screen off, like when reading something and the screen times out, can be very slow to reactivate the device. First time, I thought I had to force restart. Phone completely stops responding for a long time. But only sometimes. "
=> Haven't experimented this, but maybe your problem is fixed in latest release

It is probably not releated to your build environment, the current CM source tree is actually pretty unstable. Then yes I made some modifications to source to fix build, let me know if you need some help I'll try to find a free time and help you
Some updates for you guys:
- Build 2015-10-31 is out, with nice CM features (Themes works in this build)
- Since October 28, SetupWizard (the first screen which welcome you the first time you install the ROM) was buggy and audio is just broken in CM Source. That's why I planned to fix it instead of making out a build with "no sound" in the phone ^^. I finally fixed that issue of no audio.
- SetupWizard actually freeze at first time. I will look into it in next days when I will have more free time if it is not yet fixed by CM.
- So again about SetupWizard, when you finish install and the phone has booted, just let the phone freeze, then it will auto-reboot, then freeze again, then autoreboot again, then all will become normal

Can't think of a reason why it should do that. (and why you should do that, with 32 Gb internal)
I'm currently out of large enough SD's so I could transfer internal to external.
Does a format as regular card work?
Can you get a logcat (start before format, stop after it failed) of the format as internal and when regular fails, one of that action as well?
Congratulations, all your hard work is paying off. Great stuff sir. Love your ROM. ?
Sent from my SM-T810 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Not sure how to get logcat but formatting as portable works while formating as internal it all goes through says Sd card is working I hit done and it says corrupted EDIT***: some other people were having this issue on different devices it appears it was an issue with cm 13 that got patched in a different nightly likely the same issue here
---------- Post added at 03:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 PM ----------
So formating as internal still goes corrupt but when entering twrp to erase the Sd twrp says it can't mount adoptable storage unit
Thanks for your hard work.
As I am still on the "unofficial" build, do I need to clean flash the official nightly ?
Edit:
Did a clean flash, to on the safe side. Unfortunately though I still cannot get the quicksettings to. I don't even the option in my menu.
Incase embedding doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp6c60Andgk
OK so I have a floating logcat did the format and stopped it how do I send it over can't find option to save the log EDIT**** I FOUND HOW TO SAVE but won't let me upload I can send an email with it if that is OK? And only reason I'm doing it is because I have a bunch of big apps and a lot of music I had 2gb free before I erased everything and flashed cm also if I may request a close all button for closing out application
Thank you for the CM port! I am testing this on my tab and like others say, Netflix does not work (cannot find the liboecryptXXX to remove or change filename) and sd card is always corrupt no matter which option you choose (64GB SD card). Let me know if there is anything I need to send to help.

Where can I find the tablet version of Netflix? I only see the one app in the Play Store.
EDIT: Also - I am on version 13.0-20160629-NIGHTLY-gts210wifi - Maybe this nightly broke Netflix?

Wow. Official for the T810. Nice job! Should hopefully be somewhat soon before the 710 gets it aswell. I'm thinking of getting a 713 to learn this on. Good stuff!

Thanks TI for all the hard work in getting this ROM running on our S2's, it's running really nice and smooth for me and I thank you and those who helped for putting forth all the effort in making it happen, it's much better than TW IMO. :good:
Idk if it's OK to post a request in this thread but can someone in the community please create a custom under/overclock/under volt kernel for this ROM? I was spoiled using the ROM and custom kernel that Engine95 made for Lollipop TW and it seemed to take my S2 to the next level especially with battery savings, adjusting the BIG processor down to 500mhz really had a noticeable impact. Idk what settings he used for the undervolting but he set the oc parameters for the little processor up to 1.6ghz and the BIG from 500 to 2.2ghz on the interactive governor and my S2 was running great. I can only imagine what this ROM would do with a similar custom kernel but I know the performance would make our S2's jump to the next level. Thanks again :good:
Is it also possible to add multi user support

Embedded didn't work (here). Thanks for the video, learning more about android every day. I have the option set to right and when I turn it off nothing changes, so I can confirm, it doesn't work. Will have to check on the phone what it should do though and then look into it.

The T713 is snapdragin, not exynos, different base. I don't know if you can use the common we have, I guess not, as that one depends on the exynos libs.

At the moment the rom is on phone mode. For multiuser etc. you have to set android to tablet mode.

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

No one tried this rom yet? I have a problem over here. It keeps asking for password after the CarbonROM logo even though I wipe everything clear, any ideas? What I was doing was flash 41.3.A.2.99 with everything wiped, flash ODM, flash TWRP, flash the rom and then Pico OpenGapps. Something wrong with my procedure? Thanks in advance.
EDIT1 : Oh yeah, forgot to mention my device is F8332, it isn't supported?

Use the "format data" option in TWRP to get rid of encryption, wipe doesn't clear encryption. If coming from stock, thats necessary unfortunately due to differences in the encryption used. Otherwise (if coming from AOSP) the password its asking for would be the one you used before.
Dual sim support?

Volte Supported??
First of all, thanks alot @Myself5 and all other devs, who are working hard to bring this to our XZ :good:
My experiences after 1 day:
- rom is very smooth and snappy.
- root via Magisk v16 & Xposed 90.1-beta3 (systemless) works flawlessly
- the fp sensor always works, but it's not as sensitive as with stock
- night light worked - until I've installed Substratum and a Substratum theme, but after that it doesn't work anymore (even after deactivating, uninstalling the theme, a system restart and deinstalling the Substratum app it sill doesn't work). Also a dirty flash of the rom.zip didn't help to get it working again.
- the build-in camera takes acceptable pics (not as well as the stock camera, but acceptable); also focussing is a little slower than stock. Another thing is, it's not possible to chance the location to save the pics to the ext. sdcard.
- formatted as a portable storage, the ext. sdcard item on the left of the status bar can't be removed (see attachement)
- the battery consumption is a bit high (from 100 % to 98 % in 1 h - without doing anything)
But in the whole, it's really promising for th 1st official build :good::good::good:

Hello, is the battery life when used good ? As good as stock ?
And does it have that bug when if you record video the result will be green ?
Can you upload screen recording of rom from home to settings and other functions.
I plan on flashing this soon, but I figured I'd tell you, your link to the Carbon FAQ is broken.

The battery consumption while in use is ok. But my device doesn't go into deepsleep while the screen is off. So I had lost about 23 % in 10 hrs - leaving the device untouched!
Video recording works; I haven't noticed that bug.

Sorry, I went back to stock for now, as there's a new stock fw (41.3.A.2.107).
I have a few bugs to report. First, the fingerprint sensor is extremely slow, about half or even one third of the speed compared to stock. Second, could you guys please fix the deepsleep? That one is not working for now. And third, Night Light does not work at all...
Thank you for updating the XZ to Android 8.1 I am glad to see carbon rom on this device although it is not that stable for now.
Really nice ROM and I'm looking forward to make this my daily driver, I tried it for two days and these are the bugs I found:
1: GPU performance is really bad with 2d games and google maps lagging all the time when they never do on stock
2: CPU performance is inferior compared to stock, especially single threaded
3: enabling 120 hz display won't do anything and the settings or UI will crash when leaving the page
4: fingerprint seems to be sometimes less responsive, usable but can be improved
Camera is not so bad and the modded google camera works well, hopefully this will become the first proper AOSP based platform for this device that has only seen failures until now, keep up the good work.
Can I dirty flash this rom for just update?
I use Carbon Rom 3/31 version, but I can't use delta update because my device cannot receive the stock script.
I must change the rom script with Notepad+.
So...can I use dirty flash or....could you manage it?
Thanks for continously updating this rom and thank you for fixing the bug with the fingerprint sensor.
I'm not sure if deepsleep has been fixed but there is a big problem with playing music. I can't even play any music track at all...
Hello, looking forward to make this my daily driver, is it possible ?
What I would want is decent battery life and camera.
Hello. I tried to listen to music after installing the ROM, but the earphones are disconnected as soon as they are connected to the smartphone.
The earbuds pfe 132 and are made up of earphones with an iphone microphone.

Clean flashed the 10th build along with Rytekk's dual-SIM patch, Pico Open GApps and Magisk 16.3 to my F8332 and other than that annoying SD notification (which can be banished to the notification drawer by making System UI notifications low priority) and Night Light not working, the only other major issue raised ITT of the CPUs not entering Deep Sleep is fixed according to Adiutor.
Great stuff. I haven't been able to standardise on one ROM since the CM days (interesting side note, it looks like you built the kernel for the NOCT build on my Z2 tablet).
I recommend this to anyone for daily use. Also, lower your expectations to realistic levels guise. I remember when XDA threads were for flagging major broken functionality, not complaining that a few amateur enthusiasts weren't putting out work that competed on every indicator against the finished product of a multibillion-dollar for-profit international conglomerate.

Estupendo!
I'm quite happy with RR rom at the moment but it's nice to have choice so thumbs up and keep the good work :good:
Nice.
I would like to see OC kernel here, someday
nice, i'm gonna install this afternoon, i just lookinf for a ROM to my old tab5100
Dear tuxafgmur, we have been waiting for you and your special work for long time!
Thanks a lot for coming back to this forum and for sharing your updated galaxy tab2 rom development! This forum needs you and your work!
I am personally using in both my tablets, P5110 and P3110, your kernel until today (links here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/galaxy-tab-2-unified and here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176563) : it makes a device originaly restricted to 01GHZ to be able to run properly updated software nowadays at 1.52GHZ stable! Thats amazing! Even with battery savings if properly setup is done!
Please let me know if you need specific testing of overcloked kernels with this new slim based rom! As I wrote, updated software today needs overclock with this device to run properly: that is my opinion!
Thanks again.
PS: is it possible to use this old kernel from your previous work with this new rom ?
Hi and thank you for this new rom!
I tried to mount a samba share but it seems there's no cifs mounting support this time ( older Dhollmen roms got it)

Hello, im having a bit of a problem installing this rom. I have a custom rom installed already(bliss rom) but it a bit buggy and randomly reboots. Anyway im trying to install this rom and i have it installed to a sd card(downloaded using the tablet) reboot in the recovery, wipe everything and try to install. I keep getting an error for the zip (status 7). Im pretty new doing this kinda of stuff amd i cant seem to find any info on how to fix this. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Outdated recovery?
Also, verify the rom's .zip file MD5 sum.

Make also sure you are using the right file. There is a version for tabs with mobile data capability (having a sim card holder) called "espresso3g" and one for tablets without sim card holder ("espressowifi").
Thanks for the help guys, I found out i had the wrong file(picked the one for mobile data instead of wi-fi). After i figured that out it installed no problem.

Explain why archaic implementations in modern systems?
It is coming:"Adding OMAP4430_CPU and GPU overclick support.
This patch adds the below config variables
OMAP4430_CPU_HAS_MPU_1_2GHZ
OMAP4430_CPU_HAS_MPU_1_4GHZ
OMAP4430_GPU_HAS_MPU_384MHZ
OMAP4430_GPU_HAS_MPU_512MHZ
to enable CPU's 1216, 1360 and 1472 MHz frequencies, also GPU's 384 and 512 MHz.
The patch also ensures that the CPU never starts at boot higer than 1216 MHZ
On the other hand, it adds an interface to allow changing core voltages."

Waiting!
Thanks again!
