Note 9 USB-C copy speed - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Who got Note 9 please help me to test the speed. If it is not fast enough, 512GB data copying will be a nightmare

Suprise people don't really care that much

And what would you classify as not fast enough? The speed and current regulation for USB 3.1 is standard. There's no way to change it or edit it do it should be the same across the board no matter the device is.
Key word being Should! ?

Do you know Note 8 copying speed about 3xMB/s ? Some sites like GsmArena listed Note 8 standard as USB-C 3.1

Tester did not show clear info about the test. So we can not know it's phone problem or any other things

Hello, i am getting 20 to 30 MB/s using the stock usb c to usb a cable included with the note 9. This is terrible speed. Is there any fix ? Please help.
Also, i am using windows 10 and when i look into the list of devices connected, it says "galaxy note 9 could be faster if connected to usb 3.0". The usb on my laptop is a usb 3. I tried it on other computers and all of them show the same message in the device list and transfer speed is around 20-30 MB/s .
Why is the Note 9 connecting as a usb 2 device and giving USB 2 transfer speed even though the usb ports are all usb 3. Isnt the note 9 usb 3 connector ?

I think the supplied cable is only USB 2.0.

Upgrading from Ace to High End Phone

Hi folks,
I need some advice. I am using galaxy ace since last year, and phone is not responding my requests. I need a high end phone.
I have got 3 models in my mind, but i cannot decide which one... I need some advice pls.
I will use that phone for my internet apps, mail, browsing etc.
1. HTC One X, good phone, powerfull but battery is not enough.
2. Galaxy S3, i dont like this phone after S2
3. Note 2, this phone is great. Much more features, more capabilities, more battery life but its too big
So, what will i do?
Thanks.
Note 2

[Q] Hmmm.. Wonder.. will there be a Note 5 Plus..?

Starting to think Samsung may be playing the long game combined with a very crafty bait and switch...
If there is a Note 5 plus, who want's to bet it has:
- An SD card slot
- 128GB internal storage option
- Removable battery with higher capacity...
All of this is pure speculation of course...
Thoughts?
and the exynos 7422?
And IR blaster
a bigger Note?
(Sent from another Galaxy via Tapatalk)
I highly doubt that such a device would be released. If anything, it would probably be a Note 5 Active with only a higher capacity battery, not anything else mentioned in this thread.

Note 4 New gear vr $99 Charging

Anyone manage to get the note 4 charging capability while using the new samsung gear vr? Thanks!
bump
Just ordered mine for my Note 5, but also have a note 4, will check if no one else has already when I get it.

Thanks, however the question probably isn't whether it works - it doesn't (my N910C doesn't charge, also check the reports in modification thread here and on reddit), but how to get it to work. My guess is that the software needs to start charging - it would be interesting if anybody who uses N920 rom on Note 4 would check.

I am currently using a custom rom with gear vr support. No matter what I tried it wont charge while using gear VR. I even purchased wireless charger and receiver to see if it would charge while using the phone. immediately after the sensor detect my head, it turns off charging. Very annoying.
Holding off buying new vr waiting for this one to be addressed

S8 plus batt bigger than Note 8 why?

Anyone know the reason why Samsung used a slightly smaller battery in the Note 8 as compared to the S8plus? Perhaps the Note 8 is more battery efficient? I dont know.
S-pen. Close thread [emoji16]
There are videos on YouTube which clearly show the Note 8 battery out performing the S8 battery. Whilst it has less mAh it is more efficient. Pretty much the same way a CPU with more GHZ is not nessecarely better than a newer more effective CPU.
Yoou know that little pen on the bottom right? You gotta make room for it somehow. Hogwarts magic don't work here lol.

Note 8 to Note 9. Bump in Battery life?

Anybody here upgraded from a Note 8 to Note 9 and can comment on how much better the battery life is?
The note 8 battery life for me has been dissappointing. I just sent mine in for repair and it is coming back tomorrow looking prestine. I started thinking of selling it in its refurb condition on ebay for around maybe 350 and take a hit and get a used Note 9 with the hopes of getting a better battery as a result.
Is this worth it? The improved camera and speakers is also a plus.
But my main concern is battery life. The Note 9s are going on Swappa for 500 bucks on average
This table already indicates that the stamina is similar .. despite the larger battery at Note9. Note8 chipset is more economical..

Try and get a seller to send you a screen shot using Phone Info app of the amount of discharge cycles the battery has currently.

how many is considered good?
Also can't I just send it to samsung repair shop or samsung themselves under manufacturer warranty to have the battery replaced?
When I had deep discharge issue with my ued Note 8, able to turn my phone in to get the battery replaced. I'd assume they'll take it for normal wear on battery?

As an example I sold two note 9 devices on swappa earlier this month. One was bought in August new and one in October new. 2018.
The charge discharge figures were 158 on one and 178 on the other.

Note 9 is much better in battery life in every test you'll find online, and in my experience from friends with note 8s. Check YouTube for some examples.

I just downloaded the phone info app on my Note 4. Where would one go to see how many charge discharge cycles are on the battery?
I have both Note 8 and Note 9. Without bluetooth connection, the average sot for note 8 is 5-6 h. After I bought my galaxy watch, the sot drop to average 3-4 h. The battery life of note 9 is way better. 6 h sot with bluetooth connection with my galaxy watch.

Yep, doesn't work on the note 4. It will though on the note 8 or note 9 that you were looking at buying. Hence why I suggested if you want to get a used one on swappa you could ask the seller to screen shot that info for you using this app.

Note9 has a bigger battery, but almost 30% more power in both quiet mode, medium load and high load.
