Swipe down on Fingerprint for notifications - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Interesting, when should we get swipe down on fingerprint for notifications in Gestures, as it very helpful option for a 6inch screen?

From what I've heard, in Android 9.

The option is present in Mi A1. I wonder why they removed for Mi A2.

Definitely miss it. Use the Feedback app on the phone to add it a suggestion - I did.

the official version will be published in playstore when tested stable.
Note that you lose the double click to open camera with the lockscreen. Otherwise, looks very pretty.

sorry, for the time being, not possible to allow double tap to launch camera in the locker. but double tap when screen off is not affected and will work with no problem.

also the lockscreen does not work in safe mode, that changes everything for me
The app is nice, and fingerprint seems to work very well with it. Being able to pin unlock even with fingerprint block is really nice (and I really don´t know why Samsung implemented only the "password backup" for it)
However, if I acess the camera through the lockscreen app, the camera is not launched on a "secure" mode, and I can access the entire camera gallery without unlocking and even delete the photos inside...
That´s a deal breaker for me :/

Quick open notification panel option...

The option for quick open notification panel is on the S8+ under home screen settings but I am unable to locate this option on the Note 8. Does anyone know anything about why it is not there or if it is going to be put in down the line? Thanks!
It's supposed to be coming in an update. In the meantime you can also configure the fingerprint sensor to open the notification panel with a swipe downward, or use an alternate launcher that supports this (I use Nova Prime).
I really like using the fingerprint scanner for this since it's a one-handed operation.

I have that done but kinda hard to reach thumbprint sensor on a constant basis which is why I liked the home screen way. I sure hope they do put it back in.
Yay!!

Thank you so much for that link. Worked perfectly!!!
I downloaded TouchWiz Home from APK Mirror. Seems to have done the job in restoring this option!
I'm just curious as to why the Note8 didn't launch with this functionality. I guess the S8 / S8+ update was already "released" by the time the Note8 FW was finalized.

Lack of gesture?

Mi a1 has finger swipe at fingerprint sensor for notification bar. Mi a2 doesn't have it anymore?!

Mi A2 gesture
Hi, I'm using MiA2 lite. I finally found the fingerprint gesture settings to scroll down notification.
Long hold on home screen - home settings - notification dots - swipe fingerprint for notification.
Fingerprint gesture is available on pie.

OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod

Short description:
Double tap on AOD screen to open lock screen
Description:
This app adds the ability to double tap on AOD screen to open lock screen, where you can view notification text and remove them with a swipe without unlocking the screen.
This app was made exclusively for the OnePlus 7th model and was tested on it, but should work on OnePlus 6 / 6T, 7 / 7T, 7 Pro / 7T Pro models and possibly on other devices with Amoled screens. This app is not tied to this brand of device.
Installation:
1). Activate application "OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod"
Settings -> System -> Accessibility -> OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod
2). Enable option "Tap the screen to show"
Settings -> Display -> Ambient display -> Tap the screen to show
How it works:
On the off screen, one tap turns on AOD screen, on AOD screen using this app, double tap opens the lock screen.
Double tap of this app works only on AOD screen! This screen is not completely off, it is a screen with a black background on which the clock and notification icons.

Unlocking phone by touch without fingerprint on Mi 9T Pro?

Hi guys!
I've been using Xiaomi phones for many years now and I loved the feature on my Redmi Note 4 where I could just touch the fingerprint sensor and unlock the phone, without any fingerprints added.
So technically, anyone could unlock the phone, as long as they touched the sensor.
I'm trying to mimic this behavior on my Mi 9T Pro.
I'm wondering if there's any way of using the fingerprint unlock sensor with no fingerprints setup?
My idea is it would be faster, as it was on my Redmi Note 4.
Since the sensor already works whenever I press it, I see no reason for it to not work with no fingerprints at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
I use the apk Double Tap.
Double Tap - Apps on Google Play
Easy to turn on/off screen without power. Not affected to unlock by fingerprint
play.google.com
No ads, freeware, rock stable, uses almost no battery at all and works perfectly.

I'll check the app out for sure, but I'm still wondering if there's a built-in way of doing this, as was the case on my previous phones?

Hey, I just downloaded the app, but it does not appear to have double tap to wake option, only double tap to sleep.
Am I missing something obvious?

Check Settings>Accessibility, it needs to be enabled there.
You could try setting it as a Device Administrator but I don't have it enabled as one.
Try a reboot.
