Miui ROMS Anyone? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well Hi! I'm just curious about why our shamu don't have any miui port roms? Doesn't exist anymore? Or Impossible? I new for this well I'm a BIG FAN of Stock ANDROID UI's just asking..

@kidhudi: Yeah, it should be in Q&A. As to why there are no MIUI ROMs, most likely there are few device owners remaining who like them. After all this is a Nexus, and most Nexus owners tend to prefer the stock look and feel over what in effect is an iCrap skin.

Just scroll down the Android dev. Section and you will find a Miui 8 Rom based on Android 6.0.1 .
I flashed it when it came out back in the days , and it ran well for me .

Yes , no need to downgrade .
I even flashed it from Oreo.Flash Rom then let it Boot up , make your Setup and when done flash Opengapps 6.0.1
and Magisk if you wont Root .
You can even use the old Blackbird 1.9.1 or Francos 52
Kernel if you wish .

leanKernel question. Since I'm new, it wont let me post in the dev thread.

Hi all,
So I want to install leanKernel on my Nexus 6 so I can undervolt it, and I don't know which version to go with.
I have stock Android 5.1.1, and stock kernel.
Which version do I flash? lk_shamu_m-v3.0.zip or lk_shamu_lp-v2.14cm.zip, or lk_shamu_lp-v2.14.zip
I checked the FAQ and it doesn't have the info I am looking for. Moreover 3.0 isn't even mentioned.
I assume CM ys for CyanogenMod? But that still leaves me with 2 options.
Thanks guys!
Hello, you must flash lk_shamu_lp-v2.14.zip (lp stand for lolipop)
lk_shamu_lp-v2.14cm.zip (cm stand for cyanogen mod)
lk_shamu_m-v3.0.zip (the "m" stand for Marshmallow)

Android 6 is M (Marshmallow)
Android 5 is LP (Lollipop)
Android 4 is K (Kitkat)
Since you have 5.11, go with the LP version

Final question. Will it be safe to flash SlimRom over this kernel?

Flashing any rom will likely overwrite the kernel with the one provided in the rom. However you can just reflash your kernel after flashing Slim.

Marshmallow for sprint m7 ,

Hello. , Roms have been coming out lately and I understand that most are in beta , but this particular device was said to have marshmallow development back when I asked in October , but the gsm models have had marshmallow cm13 for a while now , and has recently got a second build , that had been more than enough time to patch the Roms for Verizon and sprint m7 users , is there anyone out there that marshmallow for this particular sprint model m7wls , m7spr please and thanks
Good luck. Most of our devs have moved on to newer devices. We got to Lollipop. I ain't complaining. lol

which ROM are you using???
marshmallow on sprint HTC one M7??
Hey I am running marshmallow now on my M7. I got the rom from http://www.vanir.co/word/
What you have to do is download the latest lolipop rom first - then when that rom is installed there is a ota for the marshmallow rom. Its cm based and works pretty good. I have rooted it and am running xposed. The root for this rom is cool because you just go to developer options and turn on root access. No need to install SU as a separate app. Also, the ota is great. This may be the best rom I have installed yet to date.
You can find the latest version of Marshmallow here, http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/m7spr/

Is it still required to first install Lilipop ROM instead of just installing the Marshmallow ROM right off the bat? I'd prefer to go straight to Marshmallow as is done in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gyLF02rgFY
Their latest nightly will stand alone. Just install has you would any new rom. Be sure to use their gapps.

T713 custom roms?

So I got hold off a Tab S2 T713 and yes it's rooted and has twrp installed... But tell me is the only custom rom the lightning one? I installed it and had difficulties with the WiFi, so I flashed the WiFi fix, still hit and miss...just wondering if there's any others? And yes I've searched.. And also are the T710 roms compatible, I know the answer is most likely no but I have to ask.
Thanks in advance
I've been wondering the same thing... Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I hope we will have rom custom based on android 7/7.1 , just one

official update?

Hello , is there any new of the official update on zuk z1 , its been awhile now ,
Is there going to be an official update from the cynogen community , should I wait or install some diff ROMs on my own( which I do not want to do )
I wouldn't count on it if you want a official update from cyanogen Inc. Even the last security patch is from a couple of months ago
Cyanogen's support is officially stopped. There will be no new updates so it's better to give up waiting. However, community builds will always be there.
Right!so can anyone share me a link on how to root and install ROMs ( good ROM) and all the risks and benefits involved in it
Thank you

I am using latest cm13 official nightly build on zuk z1 and everything is working fine and ROM is stable... Cyanogen is dead, don't count on it for future updates. Just unlock your bootloader and install twrp recovery and that's it, .. Enjoy

Nougat to marshmallow custom ROM??

Hello there everyone!!
We have two Nexus 6 in the house, both at the moment running the superb six rom, but my wife does not like nougat, and loves lollipop and marshmallow, I think you can just download a marshmallow ROM and flash.....is this true? And the same for lollipop? Or do you need to flash completely a new firmware image? Bootloader is unlocked
You can flash a MM ROM and MM Gapps.

That's what I do when I get tired of nougant, I just flash MM, vice versa.

What about Lollipop? The Nexus 6 originally came with Lollipop. Can I flash a Lollipop rom on my Shamu despite the fact that I have upgraded all the way up to 7.1.1 Nougat? Bootloader is unlocked.
Personally, I miss the days of KitKat OS on Android.

I'm pretty sure that you can flash any ROM as long as its for the nexus 6. My favorite ROM was KitKat and always will be my favorite! But yeah, if you are rooted flash away my friend, any ROM ya want. If you are on nougant you may wanna update you're radio and baseband to the newest version? If you are on nougant and wanna go back to lollipop you may wanna consult a pro, and ask if there is anything you need to flash besides a LL ROM just to be safe. I know I was on nougant and I updated my radio/base to the newest version, then I flashed a MM ROM and everything worked great. You may be good though, I would just ask a dev just to be sure. I have a little knowledge but I still consider myself a newbie because I don't know squat, lol. J/K I know a little.. Don't flash anything until you get a second opinion. I don't want you mad at me if ya break ya phone.

Don't attempt to downgrade the Nexus 6 bootloader though, that's a good way to brick the device.
