Backlight noise and vibration motor hiss - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello,
a few days ago I bought a new Xiaomi A2 4GB/32GB.
Mechanically everything is fine, but two things seem odd to me:
There is a, albeit quiet, noise coming from the display. In the notebookcheck.com review of the phone they say it uses PWM for brightness regulation at about 1100 Hertz, which is almost the frequency of the noise. It is not always there, but most of the time. I can hear it from about 15 centimeters from the phone.
The other thing is the vibration motor. While my former Redmi Note 5 produces a low hum, the motor in the a2 makes a much brighter sound. The problem I encountered is that it sounds like the device, or something in it, is even vibrating to the motor, which makes a hissing noise every time the motor engages.
Has anybody experienced similar issues with the A2? None of these are apparent on my Note 5.
Thank you for reading and your answers

Either you are very sensitive to those frequencies or your phone is broken as I can't hear any 1 kHz noise from the display

Maybe your phone is haunted ?

I am not sure about the noise from the phone, but I can feel the vibrator extra hiss than regular, Its coming from the camera side, when I try to place the phone on surface, on contact, the camera position side make kind of rattling noise, where some of the parts are loose or not fitted properly.

A few issues

I think the Nexus 4 is an awesome device, but I have a few issues with it that I haven't seen mentioned.
Screen artefacts: On a grey background if I turn the brightness up to maximum I have two strips running vertically down the screen. They are barely visible unless at full brightness, even then you can hardly see them. The best place to see them is in the notification area, I can see them best in a dark room.
Audio (this one is by far the most annoying): If I plug in head phones and listen to music there is a very slight hiss sound, when the music is quiet or at a silent interval. What's strange is if I pause the music the hiss sound is there for like 5 seconds then disappears. It happens with every track, including YouTube and it happens on different pairs of headphones. The hiss sound only appears if I play music, and as I said it's still there when I stop the track for a few seconds.
Image retention: If I'm on Chrome browsing the web, after about 5 minutes, if I swipe the tab away revealing the grey page with the Chrome logo, and then turn the brightness up fully the URL bar and the URL itself are often visible and even readable. It goes away after like 2 minutes but I'm worried it will eventually remain.
Could anyone try out those steps and see if they also have any similar issues? I don't think I would mind if everyone else had them, but I would be disappointed if mine was a lemon.
Thanks for the help!
EDIT: Sorry I should have made the poll multiple choice lol, I voted for the headphone hiss since it was the most annoying.
Concerning "screen artefacts": I got these, but I'm afraid they're worse, because I can barely see them at the minimum brightness when in a dark room (my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052338).
Audio: don't worry about that because I've heard that on many devices (like mp3's or my previous LG Swift); the hiss just stops after few seconds from stopping playback. Maybe it's worse than I imagine that...
To respond to the Chrome issue (ghosting): I haven't seen anything like this so far... maybe my eyes are just not as sensitive as yours

Thanks very much for your reply!
I looked at the picture you posted, and yeah that's exactly like mine I double checked and if I look really carefully I actually can see them at minima brightness, though it's definitely more visible at higher brightness.
Do you have the hiss on your device?
Have the lines, so faint I couldn't careless about them. No hiss or ghosting on mine. I think this is a case of if you want a problem with the device you will find one. Everyone has such high standards lol.

I know, I don't really mind about the lines that much (it's not that bad compared to the artefacts on an AMOLED), the image retention is a little worrying though, but the headphone hiss is just plain annoying.
I see a few people have the hiss, how bad is it? Did your other devices have it?
I have the hiss and lines.

Are you going to RMA it? Or does it not bother you that much? This is the first device I've owned that has the hiss. The sound quality is better than my S2, but that fuzzy hiss sound is annoying.

Slight rattle when tapping screen, anyone else?

I got my crystal pro on Sunday, overall really happy with it (will be even happier when I get .124 and the improved AOD!) but am noticing a very slight rattle when tapping on certain parts of the screen.
It only happens when I tap the top right part of the screen, it is very minor but is certainly not consistent with the rest of the display. It is the part of the screen that will be sitting adjacent to the rear cameras so maybe it is the camera mechanism? Probably normal but I am kind of OCD about this kind of stuff.
Anybody else noticing this on their pro?
Same here next to the cameras. I thought it's the OIS but my first p30 pro (display issues) didn't do that or i never noticed it!

I can confirm that it is there, and if you tap and listen closely, the sound is originating from the back, so it's most likely the OIS in the cameras.
But it isn't an issue for me, as you have to use some force while tapping it to hear that rattle, using the phone normally with slight taps like I use every other touchscreen device, I can't hear any rattling sound whatsoever.

Question Strange rattling noise when shaking the phone?

Hello,
There's a strange rattling noise when I move the phone back and forth like something is loose inside the phone near the camera module. Does anyone else have the same experience? Is this related to the gimbal/OIS or a defect? I don't remember if I had this from day one, just noticed it a couple of days back.
Regards.
I have the same thing, Chinese version. Noticed from day 1, no issues with camera. I'm assuming it's the gimbal
Having something similar when i play games and there is vibration, only noticeable at night when there is absolute silence. I suppose its the gimbal, no problems whatsoever, and only noticeable on no noise at night.
Yes, it is the Camera stabilization system and it is natural.

Proximity sensor ticking noise

hey,
I noticed earlier during a call that the proximity sensor makes a ticking noise when the display is switched off. The proximity sensor is located at the top right of the frame. Nothing can be heard when the display is on. The noise is always audible as long as the screen is off.
Has anyone else noticed that too?

Oh my god, I've been searching if anyone has this issue too (I also have an X5 pro) and find this thread via google search.
I'm not sure what's causing it but noticed it last week, first I thought it was the vibration motor for some reason. But yeah I definitely hear it when the screen is off only. It's most annoying during a phone call
This might be a defect since my Find X5 Pro is not producing any sound from the proximity sensor region. I've been testing in a really quiet environment.

It is normal for camera module in smartphones to rattle a bit.
others have the same problem after the update?
Is has nothing to do with the update. It's probably just the stabilization system.
All the mechanical image stabilization systems I ever used made a tiny amount of noise.
If you can clearly hear more than 3 feet away it may have a problem... or really good hearing
The fact that you can hear it means it's working...

I had this issue while using the camera inside a building, there was shaking from the image stabilization and also the image on the screen was shaking, like blurred. I think this is somehow "normal".
