Did you FORMAT DATA in TWRP?
"That's good to have BL unlock by supplier but I hope it is done a right way!
Without cheating the boot."

Flashing Global Rom from Russian Global Rom

I just received my phone today and it came with unlocked bootloader and Russian global rom V9.5.14.0.OEARUFA.
Question is, can I download the updater ZIP file of Global Rom V9.5.13.0.OEAMIFA and use the updater app to flash instead of using Fastbook/Miflash Tools. Is this a safe way? Will it work? Thanks in advance!
Note : It is China Mi8 device.
I also wait for solution... Buy online and got russian rom and unlocked bootloader... What suitable twrp version for this rom because i scare bootloop will happen when install the unsuitable version... And does anyone here already try the miui pro rom from miuipro website.. does it good? Any feedback is appreciated..
The latest recovery-TWRP-3.2.3-0806 will do the trick.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=5862345805528068853
Flashing with twrp is probably the safest way as mi flash you can accidentally re-lock your bootloader.
Since the OP phone is china mi8. It's compatible with all the rom in this forum (EU, global, etc) with unlock bootloader of course.
I do not wish to change my recovery to twrp. So it's the only way is to use miflash tools? No direct zip flash global from from updater app from phone ?

To my knowledge you can't change channel with updater app. With channel I mean Global stable, Global developer, Chinese stable, Chinese developer etc etc.
So global and global Russia can be used with updater app ? Is that correct?
But if can't, it will only show error and nothing will happen to y device right?

Magisk is probably tricking the firmware to see the bootloader is locked. For purposes of online banking and stuff? I believe bootloader is still actually unlocked.

Flash OFFICIAL Xiaomi fastboot rom via Miflash (take care, don't relock the bootloader!!!!) and reinstall TWRP 1102 or 1227 if you take the latest DEV version and not the STABLE.
TWRP 1102 or 1217 for Stable rom
twrp 1227 for latest DEV weekly rom 9.2.15

You are on OFFICIAL XIAOMI rom, that's was needed to refresh your phone.
This rom is full chinese without ANY GOOGLE application.
two options:
you stay with it and install GOOGLE PLAY on it or FLASH a custom modified EU rom with all the western stuff like Google and translations.
You need a modified recovery (TWRP) to flash a custom rom.
Your decision!
Do you know if it exist an ROM europeen (french) on miui10 ? With the Google service or possibility to install the gapps

No way and no possibility to flash custom rom out of TWRP usage.
That's the problem you are facing to wait in order to unlock the bootloader.
You must do it or stay with chinese ROM. This was like that when you bought this 100% chinese phone. And for me the same, so I waited 360 H and unlocked the bootloader for having TWRP available...
You have time to learn on how to do it.

As said before, this is a Chinese phone not sold "normally" out of CHINA.
It comes with CHINESE STABLE rom and no GLOBAL rom version ('for international sale with GOOGLE applications and all languages) is available and never will be!..
Sorry.
Anyway this phone is the best size/weight/features/price/performance/design RATIO in all XIAOMI phone range.
Tha's why I bought it to replace my MI5.
Thanks, so do you thinks I can found an traduction to all my mobile ? Before to install the chinese i having the miui global 9.5 stable 9.5.10.0 oebcnfa, it was the original ROM installed on my mobile when I have but my phone, I would like to refind here...

Question Mi 11 Ultra China rom to EUROM/Global queries

Hi guys! just a couple of questions. I have been reading some of the Q and A on mi 11 ultra in the forums and have some questions of my own for clearer info for me.
I will be unlocking my bootloader today so here's my questions.
1. If I'm flashing a eurom (flashable rom from xiaomi website), do i need to follow the guides in flashing a twrp? or just the usual mi flash tool and eurom for flashing?
2. If I'm flashing a global rom, (i watched in a video that for flashing global rom) do i still need to edit the .bat file and delete the 8 lines pertaining to rollback?
3. currently i have a 12.0.9 chinarom, i haven't updated it yet to 12.5.3 (there is an update available), because i will be unlocking my bootloader. Do i need to update it first before unlocking? or just proceed to unlocked?, then change the rom to my preferred one either eurom or global?
thank you.

1. so i do need to follow the steps in flashing euro with twrp?
3. i've read that chinarom should be updated to latest, before any flashing do i need to do that also? or just from 12.0.9, directly flash a 12.5.3 eurom in twrp?
i have flashed an updated eurom thur twrp. do i have to format after installation of rom?

Thanks for the reply. You leave the bootloader unlocked, or relocked it in EU version? Are you able to use bank and payment apps without security issues?
And, what is the main differences of the Chinese and EU system?
Thanks
The bootloader remains unlocked, you cannot lock it via dev options. However the ROM works as if it is locked by its design. All bank apps work, may be you might need to delete the empty twrp folder but most don't require it.
It is based on Chinese stock but with so much added. So you get updates quicker on a much better ROM. I'm not going to list the vast number of differences but if you want to read them all, pop over to the Xiaomi EU forum's 11 Ultra's download page for all the info.
EU ROM ram management sucks, nothing I open and I leave without killing it in the background , then I return to it from recent, nothing work, always fresh open. Tried battery management, tried ram management, tried many things, same result

No, you only need to format your storage when you are going from one line to another, such as China to EEA or Xiaomi.eu, but all you need to do for an update is a dirty flash via TWRP or if you are running stock rom, all updates should be relatively seamless, requiring only a simple click to initiate the process and is handled within the OS.

there is latest update on eurom when i checked for updates. is it ok if i installed the downloaded updates directly on phone?
or do i need to download it in browser on my pc, then transfer it to phones drive and install the updates thru twrp?

You can do it either way. Personally, I find it quicker on my PC to download the rom and then to copy it to my internal storage, but you can download via OTA if you want as well.

thanks
so i downloaded it ony my mi11u, faster download time.
when i click the "check md5 & install" on "updater"
*best to remove the lock's first, else a chinese welcome note on twrp will prompt to input the password, need to change the language first.
it restarts and bootups on twrp. click install and need to search the downloaded "usually in internal storage, with other files and folders, on the bottom since it's a zip file"
install and reboot "system reboot"
done.

Question twrp, magisk, boot.img on miui 13.0.5.0 SKAEUXM???

Hi
Kind of in a pickle here, I have upgraded to the EU version of the rom and then updated to the above 13.0.5.0 SKAEUXM. Now the issue I am facing is no matter what version of twrp I install or boot into it doesn't show me the internal storage and neither can I copy anything there for some reason. ( That's TWRP out of the question trying to flash magisk or trying to extract the phones boot.img? )
Neither can i get hold of miui 13.0.5.0 SKAEUXM zip file where i can extract it and utilise the boot.img either as its no where to be found aka the full rom?
How do I root with magisk on my mi 11 ultra miui 13.0.5.0 SKAEUXM. Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
You can only root via adb fastboot using the fastboot version of your rom to patch the original boot.ini. AFAIK there are no fastboot versions of these roms quite yet

okay i managed to find a twrp and use the following command
fastboot flash boot_a twrp.img
that worked fine and i was able to see the storage. flashed magisk canary which then sent the phone into twrp loop.
restarting again installing the eu 12xxx rom which i will update to 13.0.5.0 SKAEUXM and then re do the procedure with normal magisk and see how that fairs. when i do normal fastboot flash recovery twrp.img i get a failed message.
will update

Use unsupported version of twrp with miui 13 (A12) can brick your phone, remember that
Still no working twrp for miui 13 (A12)
everything's been fine I been testing various roms and trying to get boot.img from miui 13 eu rom but while being careful on one occasion i forgot to check clean all and instead it was sat on clean all and lock and it locked and now i have fast boot only no recovery and boot loader is locked, I don't get why they would design this software to auto select clean all and lock rather than nothing so you get to select before you can even proceed unless it was malicious and done on purpose?? I done the unlock thing last night and have to wait 134 hours.
pay for a phone and still be at the mercy of the manufacturer, no, fk that. this phones getting flashed back and sent right back up the Chinese where the sun don't shine.
anyways what option do i have apart from now being at the mercy of another foreigner who just wants you to pay him before he even wants to talk to you or answer any questions or ask any about your issue.
all i got was pay no refund pay no refund from one dude in india no questions no nothing. i asked questions and he couldn't even answer one of them apart from with a maybe and a ? (Wont take any names)
so this is where I'm at fastboot with locked bootloader, no recovery or data. cant twrp on locked device cant set to edl mode via fastboot nothing.
any attempt has rendered cant do anything on locked bootloader. I can see the phone on mi flash and try to flash it but keep getting the locked error.
I have tried a global rom a eu rom a chinese rom hell even a engineering rom all the above give cant erase on locked stae error while the engineering one gives Antirollback error, and yes i have deleted the section of anti rollback check still get some other error?
Over to you guys.

EU isn't rom variant. They call that EU because full name is xiaomi.EU
Remember official rom branch: global, global EEA, global IN, china
Xiaomi.eu is just china miui with some mods for working with global user

Remove all magisk modules
If you edited some system files undo changes
In magisk press uninstall => complete
After reboot:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing lock
Anyway there is a risk for bootloop
I recommend you to leave it unlock

Sorry I should have been a little more specific. I know about the removing the magisk modules and also uninstalling magisk and even the locking bootloader back up, but if I recall since I am using a magisk boot image. Shouldn't though after uninstalling the magisk you need to flash a clean version of rom to get rid of that magisk boot image? That's the part I'm confused about because with my 6t I flashed it with twrp. I know it's fastboot to do so but unsure of the fastboot steps. I appreciate the help though. I just wanna start fresh with a clean rom.

Is this a pc software to rollback to previous versions for this phone? Sorry just wanna know what exactly it is and the steps before I run it that's all. Also I am on .16 and this looks like .11..that won't cause any issues? I am just assuming the na means north American version.

Hi! Sorry to revive an old thread here, but I was willing to use this method in order to unroot and relock my BL. Coming from an OP10Pro Eu myself and being on NE2213_11_C.22 atm. So I just wanted to know at what point were you able to go to recovery and wipe data, did the rollback package process itself ended on recovery where you were able to click format or did you have to force boot to recovery at some point before an automatic relaunch?... If you remember of course! Thanks a lot in advance!

Ok got it! So I'll perform an extra "format data" through recovery once the rollback is done! Thanks a lot sir!

Hi guys! Each time I select the rollback package from "local install" it comes back with the message "verification failed"... Any idea what could be the cause? I'm on 2213_11_C.22 (stable) Thanks for your help.

Nevermind!! It's a success!! ...after a few shenanigans. ;-)
