Other than changing CSC, Is there any other use for this firmware?

Do you flash this along with the home csc or do you need to include BL and CP as well? Mine keep getting stuck at ODM for some reason. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Thanks

Just the HOME_CSC and the COMB as AP
You need the same MULTI CSC as the phone has already installed

Hi @holifo, everytime I tried flashing the comb as ap together with home_csc, it always failed at ODM. Just now i tried just flashing the COMB as ap and I managed to get to the factory binary settings. Tried using *#243203855# but it doesn't give me the list of the csc. Not sure what i did wrong.
Should I flash the COMB together with the home_csc? I'll try this again

Followed the steps but I still get the same issue when flashing the comb and home_csc. stuck at odm.img...
I can flash the comb file by itself. But the *#243203855# doesn't give me anything. When I tried to flash the home_csc together with the COMB, it stucks at ODM.img even after following the steps from the thread above.

OK
Try this:
1. Flash full normal OXM firmware all files with CSC_OXM. Let it boot and set it up without any account you must go at the home screen.
2. Turn on OEM unlock at Dev setting.
3. Shut Down and then go to Download Mode.
4. flash the COMB as AP and the HOME_CSC_OXM file.
This should boot you to ENG MODE.
hope this helps

Tried this and still getting the same issue. Stuck at odm.img. I'm interest to know anyone else has the same issue like this.

Same issue here. Trying to change to BTU from DBT and getting stuck on when flashing the combo file + HOME_CSC. It's getting stuck when flashing ODM. I am using the HOME_CSC_OXM.

Which files? The combination firmware flashes OK during the process and the factory binary loads.
It's the HOME_CSC that hangs, but only when you flash it with the combination file.
The combination file on its own (without the CSC file) will flash OK and boot.
If you flash the CSC file with the original factory firmware, it flashes ok as well.
It is only getting stuck while flashing the CSC file with the combination file together.
The HOME_CSC file does not need to be decompressed to be flashed as far as I know.

Did you use the wipe or non-wipe version?
You'll need to flash older firmware via Odin and start all over again mate.
Hey mate thanks for replying..
someone said to flash XWJM8 ...
I will use your method instead..
would this solve my problem sir?

The above method given in the link is probably the best way to do it as it flashes stock firmware so that you can start from scratch again

Are you sure you have the correct PDA / CODE / MODEM / CSC files? and are you using the 512 .pit?
I have no idea...

I only have 2 files in the folder:
CODE_I9000XWJM8.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJM4.tar.md5
Where is CSC and how do I flash this in odin... what goes where?
thank you so much for your help I really appreciate it

XWJM8 worked.

Boot-loop, traditional debricking doesn't work

Hi All,
I need your help with resolving my i8190N boot-loop situation.
What caused it:
I was on aokp and flashed revenge v4 over it with cwm including the modem mod listed in the thread.
I did manually format system, data & cache before and possibly after.
Symphtomps:
The white i8910N logo shows up, then disappears and the whole process repeats each few seconds.
Can't boot into recovery.
What I tried already:
Booted into odin mode
Flashed: wipe.md5, params.md5, stock recovery.md5, pre-rooted stock rom.
No change whatsoever.
Can someone help me resolving this?
I look funny on the train typing on my beloved G1 from 2009
Thanks!
Hi
Odin, instal .pit GT-I8190N file, and flash device.
Flashing ROMs on the way to work, you're brave lol. I do this sometimes lmfao.

I just attached two .pit zips I found. I'm unsure which one to use. The size is equivalent, but the CRC32 inside the zip is different.
Thanks for any hint.

Use the pit file that matches your phone model, which is the i8190N, dont worry if you used the wrong pit file, it will automatically fail

Unfortunately this didn't change anything either.
I did it both ways:
1. Flash the .pit first, then the ROM next
2. Flash the .pith and the ROM at the same time
Please see the attached screenshot of what I did.
Update: Just repeated the same thing on the screenshot but with re-partitioning enabled. Still no joy.
Thanks.
Use PARAM file here, see if that helps, flash as PDA in Odin.

Enable 3 button combo for recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2157105
Start in recovery and do a factory reset.
It finally worked out!
I installed the 3 button combo + CWM bundle + the official ROM for my carrier from Samsung-Updates.
Since then I flashed reVenge v4.0 and this time it simply worked.
Great thanks for all the replies!

put the extracted firmware files into c:\odin
delete hidden.img and cache.img
then the command in cygwin to change to that directory would be
cd /cydrive/c/odin
then enter the re-tar command as described in my guide and flash the n910f.tar file with odin! this will work 100%!

Ok finally got through the change directory, created the tar as described and flashed it with Odin. Stuck in bootloop. Tried installing twrp recovery, either failed with odin or when trying to boot into recovery it automatically went into download mode.
Flashed my regions stock rom through kies emergency recovery. Boots up fine, works fine. Next flashed the 5.1.1 Tar image. Same problem, endless booting sequence (gets up to home page and then reboots).
Anyone have some suggestions?

Nand Erase In ODIN ( *** SOLVED *** )

Guys,
I need an urgent help. Here is my Story..
Using 9208 Note 5 model. After trying different custom roms i tried to flash stock firmware using Odin. Did everything correctly. Unfortunately i checked Nand Erase all option too. The result is my Note 5 stuck at Samsung DimDim logo. For almost 1 hour. Tried reflash several times but no luck..
So i flashed twrp and wipe data and factory reset and reboot. Its works. But problem with voLTE. No voLTE working. I know flashing JIO voLTE fix will solve this but i need a solution for this Odin. I dont want to flash voLTE fix.
Can someone help me pls.. How to bypass that Samsung logo without flashing Twrp.. ?

You can only downgrade if you have firmware that's bootloader version 4 because you're currently on bootloader version 4 and you cannot go back down to bootloader version 3 or earlier because that's been blocked by Sammy.. If you need the PIT file it's inside of the firmware that you downloaded you just need to extract it from the file. If you have the firmware G935FXXS4ESC6 then unzip it and then unzip them again and you'll find the PIT file in there.. It's usually inside of the CSC .tar file.

You can do that yes and if that doesn't fix your problem then there must be something wrong with the phone itself. For your information though you're asking for help in the Galaxy Note 5 thread but you're on a Galaxy S7 Edge.. I do think a moderator might end up moving this to the correct place.

I tried All sorts of cables on the laptop. On my desktop odin sees the port but doesnt flash at all just says completed or gets stuck on initializing. The firmware that completes all the way till the end and gets stuck is N960USQU2CSI1_CCT. Also i tried to write the orginal firmware i was on but it gets stuck on vendor.img.ext4 and nothing happens. At the moment im trying to download the latest tmboile CSI1 version to see if it flashes.
