GPU Turbo for Honor 9Lite released! - Honor 9 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys.
I just found this website yesterday which says that Honor has released it's GPU Turbo for Honor 9 lite in China!
Don't know if it's a hoax but check it out.
If it's real could we port it for Indian and other variants?
The link is below:
https://www.getdroidtips.com/honor-9-lite-b178/
Edit: The official GPU turbo update is rolling out as B187(for phones running on B181 and B185) and B177(for phones running on B170 and B175). You can get the B177 from firmware finder if you've not received it yet. B187 is not yet available in Firmware finder but you can Google it to see if someone has uploaded it. It's recommended to wait a few more days for the official update. ??

Guys after seeing that i thought if checking it out.
I installed firmware finder through playstore opened it up and searched for my varient( LLD al10)
I checked all for an update and found one(1st screenshot)
Then after checking firmware access it said LLD al10(all)
Then I clicked get an update through dns and guess what happened?
Check the screenshots.
I'm just confused wether I should install it? Should I?

Wait just found something.
It said LLD-AL10-all-cn.
It says cn at the end. Is that short for China?
I thought LLD-AL10 was the Indian varient

Lol all this excitement for this new update, you do realise this might have a patch01 update inside which will block magisk from ever working again right as they have decided to harden the kernel to blockagisk from running. B135 has been showing for LLD-L31 for awhile build its not available to flash yet, however if your planning to root your phone I suggest you wait for now.

You mean after the update we won't be able to use magisk?
That's a shame. But if the source code is released we could impliment it to other ROMs whichh is less likely to happen as Huawei is keeping it a secret.
And about that excitement part. What's so bad about being excited?

If it has AUG update then yep installing the update will block Magisk from working again. Doesn't matter if you use a Custom Rom either Magisk will still be blocked from running as they have changed something in another partition by looks of it.

That's a cheesy move by Huawei ?

That's interesting to know. Indeed a cheap shot from Huawei no wonder there getting blocked by countries I bought this device because it was impressive but Huawei just seem to be taking all the fun out of Android. Andromeda is open source Huawei have absolutely no rights to my device once I buy it I should be able to lock/unlock the bootloader and root or not root my device. Shame a left Moto cause of there rediculous 1 major update nonsense and waiting for years for a security update to Huawei because I believed them to be Innovators and who actually think of the end consumer. Guess a was wron

Thanks man was just gonna post this.?
Hope Huawei dosent screw up more stuffs.

I am runnng the GPU Turbo update on my LLD-L31C432 in my case firmware version is LLD-L31C432B136 (however there is a LLD-L31C432B135 version too) and i see no change in performance which is noticeable however i do notice that playing games that are in the Game Suite takes a lot more power then they did. So to me it would seem that GPU Boost is basically a power limit uncap.

Yo Guys. I got this phone today. want to upgrade to marsmallow. all i see is updates for firmwares that my phone doesnt have.
I know how to do everthing coz of my xperia m2. The thing is i hav ALE-L02C190B130 is the build number and the upgrade doesnt say if i can upgrade from this, theres no OTA coz im in South Africa... I would like to know if i can upgrade from that build number straight to andriod 6. all of the tut says b170 to upgrade.im confused. Shed some light please
I am also from sa with ale-l02 but mine is C190B120.
I have not upgraded to mm yet because of possibility of balong error which i encountered on my previous L02.
I am also am gonna try to get to 6.0 will tell you what happens. just remember to do nandroid of every partition on phone including boot. Cos when you flash these huawei updates from other countries it gives balong error which is kind of a pain in the ass to fix on our S.A devices.
Quick question tho which carrier are you on?.Cos im on telkom mobile and the devices from cellc and vodacom are ale-l21 according to huawei website.
And how did you get your bootloader unlock code?
You also can check for updates using the HiCare app.

If your phone is the verizon or amazon variant and you would like to ever have a chance to unlock your bootloader, this update will block the only known exploit. Beware!!!

I did a minor amount of digging and reading, and did see a 100% definite mention that the xt1609 verizon variant is able to be unlocked with this method. It needs to be ported to g4 play, specifically, but there is a table at the bottom of the github page that specifically notes the verizon variant as having been successfully unlocked by someone who has not submitted their port...though i sure wish they would!!! I will be the first to admit, I'm noob, at best, but I'm doing my best to translate and understand the instructions given to get this exploit ported. It will need testing, and said tester will need to have an extensive understanding of terminal command, and be in possession of an amazon or verizon variant. i make no promises, but just know that it is being looked into, and i will offer no eta. So please do not ask or contact me for one. I will post publicly if and when I need testers for the exploit. In the meantime, deny any and all update notifications.

I looked for the s9+ also but like ya said its not there yet my guess its not on the s9 server yet or could be a different build number but I wouldn't figure
I would look up your build and android 9 is a 2GB size firmware look for the newest by month and date under the firmware you are on now

If u want to get pie, u have to get the ARI6 Odin files which are about 4GB. This is an Oreo file with September Patch. The subsequent update files on SamsungFirmwareScience is all you would need going forward after that to upgrade to Pie and other Patches if u choose to stay on Oreo. You just need to take a leap of faith and downgrade to ARI6 using the Patched Odin by Thomas or so 3.13.3

And I could just sideload the unlocked version of the ARI6 file? Like I wouldn't need carrier specific? According to SamMobile, there's no ARI6 for the Sprint (cdma) it only goes up go ARI4

All Samsung firmware are not carrier specific. Now how your phone works with the firmware is totally unknown to me. Sprint is weird since it's a cdma network. If u were on a GSM network i would have said it's as easy as pie. But to answer your question yes, it's simple as pie to just download Odin and ari6, put your phone in download mode, load the files to Odin (if u want to retain your sprint software use HOME_CSC rather than CSC) then run the update files from there using adb sideload from the recovery menu

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Australian Discussion

I thought I'll make this thread for the Australian Mate 20 Pro Owners.
As we may all know already, Optus and other ozzy telcos are extremely slow with releasing there updates for our devices, it's very frustrating as we have to wait for important updates and fixes.
In this thread I'll love to hear from other Australians and there opinions on this matter. Also to discuss firmwares that have been flashed from other regions on our devices etc
All topics about our devices are all welcome
I have the L29. Currently with Telstra (Prepaid)
My last OTA update was 168 which I received around the end of December.
I recently unlocked my bootloader and updated to 182 following a guide in these forums
I also rooted my device using the same guide.
I don't really have too much to say on the speed of our updates, as I've only had my Mate 20 Pro since the 28th of Dec. It's my first android phone and I'm loving it so far. I've been wanting to get away from Apple for years, but the jailbreaking scene kept me with them. Now that the scene is almost dead I decided it was time.
So now I'm getting my head around rooting.
LYA-L29 here.. C636 SPCSEAS region on mine.
Have done the fh 171 update.. Now on unlocked bootloader and rooted 182. Tried the custom 182 rom but no joy with magisk in hiding safety net stuff for Google pay.. However with the stock 182 I was able to hide the safety net checks with magisk help.
What might be of interest to people to is I've been able to downgrade back to 171 and relock bootloader which previously was said could not happen. Back on 182 though now.
Currently running an L29 bought from eBay AU but originated in the UK as far as I can tell (based on the charger mains plug)
Latest version It'll update to is .168, it started off at .109 and has done 2 updates in the 2 days I have had it.
I've ordered a BL code and will look at rooting once I have it, there seem to be 2 different guides in this forum at the moment. Still working out which way to go. One of the methods definitely involves rebooting into recovery every time in order to get root, not sure if the other method does as well.
I find the 182 firmware to be a great one, I have noticed more of a battery drain on this one but nothing to really worry about.
I find it awesome that the hwota method works and we are now able to flash the same or higher firmwares with pretty much ease now. To be honest everytime I fiddled with my phone before the hwota method came out I would stuff something up then use funky Huawei to bring it back to life lol that was beginning to be an expensive venture haha.
This device shows alot of promise, I am currently using magisk and have used modules to pass safety net. Also used titanium backup to remove some system apps I never use. I froze Huawei home and now use nova launcher and used the Google framework module to install the Google phone and contacts app which I find much better. I am happy to say I now have the device exactly where I want it to be. I have also added a 64gb Huawei nano memory card to my device, as it may be expensive I thought why not.

The patched_boot.img method is what I'm using basically when the phone reboots it automatically boots up the patched_boot and goes straight into the os, you don't even notice it which is great

Basically grab the recovery_ramdisk IMG and use that in magisk to get a patched_boot.img that would be the best way but in the guide it's got all the info you need there.

LYA-L09 from Optus here still on .122, with .146 due end of this month. Optus update schedule is a joke. As soon as FH .182 is safety net approved, I'm doing it. Don't really want to pay the $70 to unlock bootloader but will likely do that too eventually.
Yes Optus is a joke. Hopefully they start working on .171 which is supposed to have a unlock bootloader although I am sure optus will modify it to stay locked.

Optus are still stuffing everyone around with not yet releasing an almost 2 months old firmware. All they can do is give you a recorded message.
They certainly are the most pathetic telecommunications company.
Sent from my HUAWEI LYA-L09 using XDA Labs
It seems to have come to light that optus won't be supplying firmware updates, 2 reasons were mentioned today
1 is that huawei have not issued a software licence and will not provide optus with firmware.
2 is that optus have abandoned huawei firmware updates because of the huawei 5G and US ban with regards to spying.
All the times optus have mentioned testing firmware for the mate 20 Pro has been lies, it now is apparent that they were never testing anything.
This matter via being addressed by me in writing to both Huawei and optus, if they fail to respond or provide a firmware update solution. Consumer Affairs Victoria will be filing a complaint against them con VCAT Court.

Is your phone Optus branded specifically? Could you go and buy a Telstra prepaid SIM, chuck that in, and update the phone?

So what, they get so far and over a month just to give up on .146 ... I can't wait for another month of testing .183 just for them to give up on that

They are not testing .183 they are supposed to be working on .188 but at this point optus don't have a software licence from Huawei, and huawei are refusing to release the firmware until they get a licence approved.
This could be months or not even happen at all
They also have never been testing any firmware because huawei have never released any to them for testing as to date.
Here is the message I received from Optus last week.
Hey Darren,
This is what I recieved internally from our Tech devs,
For Australian carriers, Huawei will release MR every 2 months. They do not know the release details until about 1 month before the release. They have skipped .146 and .183 because they did not meet Optus requirements. We are going to get .188 for testing which is the later version than .183. The only way for the customer to get .183 is to buy an open market handset.
So we're all still on .122 ?
I want to say "un ****ing believable" but it's really not.
It's simply not good enough

Beta Android 10 - Snapdragon

We already saw that the Exynos got the beta version earlier.
I also saw today that about 14-15 hours ago Snapdragon possesors started receiving the Beta for the G96*U versions.
We also need to wait for the G96*0 version Beta.
Here i want all of Snapdragon versions possesors to post everything they have to help each other about the Beta.
U can also capture the OTA if u get and share it with us.
Thanks.

Have fun ?
Signed up for the beta this AM and immediatly got it pushed to my unlocked U1 on Sprint. Seems pretty stable for a first beta.
who will share the beta link for G960U1
Got it installed on my Verizon S9+ running U1 firmware. Opted in for the beta through the members app and there was an update available when I checked in settings a minute later. I was running a Substratum theme and I just applied the default theme before taking the update to be safe. Seems nice and snappy so far.

Can this work as well on the international snapdragon variants? SM-G9600.
It also is snapdragon 845 and on the latest november patch CSK1. There doesnt seem to be much of a community with the sm-g9600. so thats why im asking if this could be flashed on this type of s9 variant.

No.
DONT try to update.
U have all the chances to brick your device.
Every version is different.
U cant flash from G96*U, U1, N, F, W versions.

As the link you quote is for S9+ (SG965), definitly no. Though, I have the same question as you concerning the OTAs files for G960 Snapdragon.
I mean, if it's the same hardware, I guess it'd be possible to flash a SG960U on a SG9600?

Thanks for the info bro. I wasn't gonna risk it since i knew the firmware were different but ughh so frustrating cuz since i got this model of s9 i hardly see a community support for it tbh. So does the SM-g9600/g9650 get there own beta as well or we actually gotta wait for official one ui 2.0 ?

I can't speak to the other versions but you definitely can flash U1 onto U phones. The only difference in those two is U is carrier branded in the US and U1 is the factory unlocked in the US. The only difference in those firmwares is carrier bloat and some carrier specific settings for network.
I know this because I'm running U1 beta on an AT&T branded G960U.

My concern with this is the bootloader. In the 960U/U1 versions our bootloaders are locked and there's no way of unlocking. To my understanding the 9600 has an unlocked or unlockable bootloader. I've been curious what would happen in the past but not willing to turn my phone into a paperweight.

You would have to be on the latest U1 Pie for the beta to work. If you're on U firmware and try to flash the beta it'll have a build mismatch and will fail.

You are correct sir. That's exactly what happened. I'm kinda rusty though, so I'll probably wait for the ota or til someone can upload the U firmware update.
Someone having any news for our Snapdragons G96*0 ?
EDIT: I've send an e-mail to Samsung requesting Beta for the G9600 & G9650 devices.
I will let you all know when i will get a reply.
