Is it possible to set a custom video homescreen wallpaper? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Every app I try from the appstore crashes, and selecting live wallpaper only lets me set the lockscreen.

Yes. Just record any video using the camera.
Then view the video in the Gallery app.
While in the video, clock the details menu (top right), and you will see the option to 'set as wallpaper'.
Once you select that, you'll be given the choice of either home screen, or lock screen.
Do note, it will only play 15 seconds of your video on the lock screen. So keep your video under that, or you'll have to edit it before you can apply it to the lock screen.

CM10.1 lock screen widgets

So just installed CM10.1 on my Touchpad. Works great. Now Im reading that you cn add widgets to the lock screen and have looked at videos on how to do it. But there is just no + icon on my lock screen. Could it be that I have an assigned PIN to unlock my device? If so then how do you add a widget in this scenario?

Have you tried swiping left? Still nothing?
yes i have swiped left, right, up, down. there is no + icon. I see in the settings under Lockscreen there is an option to allow multiple widgets. Have turned that on and off with no results. There is the Widget pager>Allow multiple widget pages to be added and selected. That's is checked on. Then there is Camera widget>Show the camera widget to the right of the unlock screen. That is checked on. Doesn't change my lockscreen in any way.
Actually I have done that several times and when I go back the options are turned back to off. Wonder if that has to do with me connecting to Exchange and it being part of the security policy. I don't know I'm just shooting in the dark.

[Q] CM11-20141022-UNOFFICIAL-w7-LG-D415 config

I just installed cm-11-20141022-UNOFFICIAL-w7-LG-D415 and would like to customize two things on my phone.
1. I would like to close the messenger so that when I unlock the screen, it isn't the first thing I see. I like to open my messages when I feel it's time to open them and not have to deal with them until I'm ready for them.
2. I would like to kill Yahoo Weather. I don't want it running every time I reboot my phone. If I want weather info, I can use my browser to get the info.
As a first time user of CM; I'm very impressed. With a little more TLC on my phone; I'm sure I'll be a very happy camper because of it.
Thanks to all of you who put more than a few tons of effort into this,
Jim

It may be that you're not swiping straight across the screen. There are 5 targets on your lock screen, and it just so happens that the messenger app target is just above the home screen target. I've attached a screen shot of my lock screen targets as an example. If you press and hold your unlock icon, the targets will display. Just swipe to the target you wish to open. How fast or slow you swipe doesn't matter as long as you stay in contact with the screen, you're golden!
You can disable the Yahoo weather info on your lock screen with the following steps:
- Open SETTINGS in app drawer
- Select LOCK SCREEN
- select CLOCK SETTINGS
- select DISPLAY WEATHER
- select button to turn off
- Exit using the BACK ICON located on top left of screen. Don't use the back key or your change may not be saved. I have attached screen shots for reference.
Enjoy! The devs on this phone are extremely helpful!

I tried your steps for Yahoo weather and didn't see a CLOCKS SETTINGS in LOCK SCREEN. No problem because just disabling the clock app fixed the problem.
The "Hold and Swipe" is a nice feature. I wonder if it can be customized.
Is there an easy way to turn the speaker phone on?
Thanks,
Jim

jran0880's steps, #3 "CLOCK SETTINGS" should be "Clock widget". There you'll find 3 entries, "Clock and alarm", "Weather panel", and "Calendar events". Select either on of those to manage it's settings.
Also, jran0880 is correct. The messaging app does NOT automatically show when unlocking the lock screen.
The targets can be customized. In your lock sceen settings, there's the option to Slider Shortcuts. Choose that and swipe to the one you wish to change. Tap the icon to change it and select the app name to change the app. If the app you want is not listed, press "apps" at the top of that list to show all your apps.
The speaker phone is located on lower left of your in call screen. 2nd icon from the left.
I did a reset on the Lock Screen and that made things just "peachy keen".
As for the weather and lock screen, etc.; there's no Clock Widget when I open Settings, Lock Screen. If this helps, I installed the Pico-GApps. Not sure if that makes a difference.

[Q] Wallper image location

Hi,
I am using MIUI 4.8.30 and I have two of my camera picture as my lock screen and home screen wallpapers.
I want to know where can I find those picture in the folders in order to delete them (so they do not appear as an option when changing wallpaper)..?
Thanks!

How to set any wallpaper on Lock screen ?

Wondering why can't I set any pictures in my download folder to use on my lock screen ? Seems I can only use the stock Note 5 wallpapers, on the lock screen. Other ones when selected for the lock screen have a red x or something showing, that those can't be used.
Any workarounds ?
You should see something on the bottom left part of the screen that says from gallery. On the top left of the screen, if you click that a drop down menu will appear, select lock screen.
Yup works fine for me. Use the drop down up top to select lockscreen

Magazine pictures

Hey guys,
do you know if there is a possibility to add my own pictures to the magazine? If not, is there any app in which is that possible?

On my phone I use tasker to change my wallpaper every hour (if the screen is off). In settings>display>wallpaper you can select to have your lock screen wallpaper the same as your home wallpaper. Now, when tasker changes my home screen wallpaper, they both change. I don't know how else to get magazine wallpapers to randomly select from my own pictures.
Edit. I'm stupid, there are wallpaper changing apps so you don't need to use tasker, then use the setting option I mentioned. Ofc, these methods will change all your wallpapers, not just the magazine wallpaper :/
Just checked on my phone and there is a MagazineUnlock folder, have you tried just deleting and putting your own pictures in that folder?

Thank you, at least something
I copied some of my own pictures into the MagazineUnlock folder and they display perfectly on the lock screen.
Go into Wallpaper settings and at the bottom there is "album to display" you can check that MagazineUnlock is ticked or even choose another folder if you have another location you want to use.
Thank you, "Random change" was unchecked in my device so i was unable to see "Interval" and "Album to display" options. Now it works, thanks again ?
