LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
What's working:
Boots
Wifi
Bluetooth
Camera and Camcorder(video recorder)
Video Playback
RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
Audio ( Recording and Playback )
Sensors
Fingerprint
Notification LED
FM Radio
GPS

Known issues:
some saturation issue in camera while it is focusing (it was present on lineage 14 too)
Requirements
Huawei Nova CAN-L11 (should work on the other models too)
Unlocked bootloader ( here's a guide about how to unlock it). If you don't have the unlock key, then you no longer can unlock it. You gotta thank Huawei for not allowing unlocked bootloader anymore.
TWRP for Oreo.
Make sure you've updated to EMUI 5 first. I don't mean that you need to be on EMUI 5 now, but that you've updated to EMUI 5 before. I don't know if it works if you were on EMUI 4.

Reboot in TWRP by pressing all 3 buttons (Volume UP + Volume Down + Power).
Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik-cache.
Flash the ROM from the directory where you've placed it.

You don't have to, but if you like my work and you wish to support the development:
1) PayPal:

2) Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Henkate

I would use the money to upgrade my PC, so i can build with my own PC instead relaying on Google Cloud Platform.
Thank you to all donators!
Donators list:
Annedore Krauß / @Asbi12 - 33 USD (I've got 31,41 because 1,59 was PayPal fee), 13 August 2017 (that was during lineage 13 days). It was my first donation and I've used that money back then for driving sessions (car school) as I really needed.
Tarik Ben Khayat - 3 EUR, 24 December 2017
Klaus-Peter Ahrenberg - 10 USD (i've got 9,31 because 0,69 was PayPal fee), 7 January 2018
Lucas / @wangdaning - 202,80 EUR (I've got 191,50 because 11,30 was PayPal fee), 17 May 2018. As I've mentioned before several times, he helped me with those money to buy a new Nova, so all the development from me since Oreo is possible thanks to him.
Daniel Kladensky - 10 EUR, 4 July 2018
Ievgen Sobko / @IevgenSobko - 10 USD (i've got 9,23 because 0,77 was PayPal fee), 16 August 2018

@acerspyro - on 29 October 2018 he set up his Patreon to donate me 8 USD monthly (7 after fee or something) and then raised it to 10 USD (9 after fee).
Steffen Illium - 5 EUR, 4 November 2018
Дементьев Дмитрий - 7 USD (I've got 6,37 because 0,63 was PayPal fee), 5 November 2018
Yohann Juge / @Yohannj - 10 USD (I've got 9,31 because 0,68 WD PayPal fee), 5 November 2018

Thanks to @wangdaning!
First of all, let me remind you that this wouldn't have been possible without @wangdaning, at least not from me. He helped me with money to buy a new Nova in order to continue the development. With this occasion, @wangdaning, let me thank you again for trusting and helping me! I really can't thank you enough!
You can dirty flash it over lineage 14, but obviously i don't recommend that.
Happy oreo day! Lol.

Wow! Thhaaaank you so much! You did miracles with your hard work. I never expected Oreo any more. You did it!
Currently flashed successfuly. Even with a dirty flash everything seems to be very very fine.
Sent from my HUAWEI CAN-L11 using XDA-Developers Legacy app

Installed and working in MLA-L11 all good so far. Wonderfull job @#Henkate thanks for this i really appreciate.

Project treble support?
---------- Post added at 10:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:03 PM ----------
And yes, thank you so much for all the work that you are doing, without you the smartphone would have died a year ago, I'm very grateful to you for Oreo and I'm waiting for the support of the treble that would go to Pie

Good job @#Henkate I knew you would get this done. Glad I could help you out. I will give this a try this weekend, hehe I am still using this phone until something better comes along. Thanks for the hard work and glad to see you making progress with your dev skills!

This ROM is Amazing!
Thanks Henkate!

One thing, installing CPU-Z and opening the app causes a reboot, hence, everything is excellent!

just one question, man.
Did you sent the e-mail? xD
Thanks for your hard work. These past weeks are busy, but as soon as I can, I'll catch up with in telegram ^^
OREO FTW (and then pie when you finish doing it full treble )

@GNUDroid, @imkoma, @AssasinAkindinov, @wangdaning, @Alee.se, @Vinnom
Thank you so much for your feedbacks and kind words! That really means a lot to me!

Not yet hahahah. In case someone doesn't know, I'm planning to e-mail Huawei, to tell them about lineage 15 on Nova, which isn't eligible for Oreo according to them. Although it'll be pointless, I'll do it for fun xD.

Thank you for letting me know that it still happens and sharing the trick! I'll look into it as well. As I've said in my previous posts (lineage 14 thread I think, before I've published lineage 15), my guess is that some service is starting too late.

I can't see your screenshot for some reason (XDA is failing to open it). I haven't encountered any force close until now.
1) You've did a clean flash or a dirty flash from lineage 14?
2) Did you flash some mods like xposed or something else?
3) Can you share a logcat in which you "capture" the force close or at least tell me how I can reproduce that force close?

Please check the first post... Also, another issue which was reported and isn't mentioned in the first post is that when you open CPU-Z app, the phone is rebooting.

Geekbench scores looking good! So much thanks for this ROM.

I failed to post the link to the source in my previous thread as I was caught up in some other stuff. This breaks the open-source rule. That's why the XDA closed that one. I contacted the moderator but he didn't respond so I came up with a new thread.

Yes it is, only problem for now is that you can access it at the moment after the reboot via the Trust app.

My bad. I just tested it and it seems it is still buggy. The problem lies with the original LineageOS source code. This will take quiet some time.

Fantastic and amazing work as usual ! , Great job
Good job man! Keep it up!
Nice job McFy
Hoh finally pie.. Hope this have VoLTE DD
Just kidding haha
Eh, woah. Good job!
Hats off to you.
Great work mate! Atleast someone is giving our phone some love :3 Keep up the good work... Installing right now and i will report how it goes
telephone calls works good?
proximity sensor?
and I got some problems in los 15 with black screen and failure to fully discharge the battery. ~1 year ago. Thank U
Good job, and thank you very much.
some questions if somebody can guide me out perhaps:
ok i ve seen around VoLTE doesnt work on lineage 15-16 etc but i dont know the reason why....?
im also wondering about VoWIFI, the equivalent of VoLTE but through wifi instead??? im currently on stock rom of android 7.0 on A320FL and theres an option on carrier's stock rom and its calling it wifi calling....its very very handy to be honest. Would that work on custom roms such as lineage 16 ?
Thanks a lot king! Just installed and all is working well so far. I will report any issues if found
Just had a crash while trying to change ringtones. When I want to, I can choose the "Sound" app or "Multimedia storage". First one crashes when I select a category, second one (classic UI) works perfectly.
After succesfully flashing the rom with gapps my phone would turn off after a couple of minutes in the setup and wont turn on
A new build is out with HWC enabled, thanks for all your support, batery and smooth are therefore a bit improved

VoLTE is not working on LineageOS for every Exynos devices as Samsung implemented it in a custom way on their framework and as it is on private sources, we can't know how they implemented it. Therefore until Google force OEM to implement volte in a common way it is nearly impossible to get it to work on any AOSP based rom. I won't work on it since my carrier doesn't support VoLTE for my phone and I don't need it. For voWIFI it's the same.
VoLTE is Often asked by Indians as many carriers such Jio only have LTE antenas so they can't make call throught 2G/3G network, so without voLTE they can't call, but as A3 is not sold in India I guess it's not your case . You will have to live without it if you flash my rom.

Good work McFy! And big thanks for your investment in time and effort!
Something is wrong with the colors at LOS16.
Everything looks very bleak or yellowish, but if you switch to gray mode twice, the picture becomes brighter again.

i see, thanks for the info. well only vowifi is useful actually cause you get no issues with your calls, plus they sound great, when in areas with ****ty coverage which i happen to be in actually.
working at -1 floor with barely some signal or no signal at all then you really appreciate the help of vowifi not missing calls, sms, and generally not to worry.
ill have to think about it, other than that thank you very much.
Report Time
So i was using LOS 16 for first day and here are some results....
Installing method:
1.Fully reinstalled to latest stock from sammobile (all packages)
2.TWRP (official one)
3.Wipe system,data and install los- reboot!! - gapps(pico)
At first i want to say its absolutely amazing how it is stable ( i mean it more stable for me than los 15) , i had one freeze during whole day (i renamed my fingerprint , then go back click on trust and had like 30sec freeze of phone but it recovered) , but i was able to found some issues.
1. WiFi Hotspot is not working - i also tested disabled hardware acceleration for tether but it didn´t help , as for me this feature is extremely critical so please if you have time look into this , else i would be forced to downgrade
2. Camera app+results are super bad , app is very basic and result photo looks like from cheap camera from 2005 so much noise and undetailed.
3. I was to find that sometimes animations looks like they are stuttering in their mid-time , like it starts okay then in mid it stutter a noticeable way and then it plays out okay (im running first build so there is change that your newest build is solving that )
Besides this issues , as first build this is extremely good , thank you for the hard work and i will monitor where we can push our little device
PS: But please try to spare some time and look into that hotspot problem , its crucial for me ....
Also it is possible to just dirty install latest update without so much troubles ?
Edit: I forgot two issues
1.Network traffic thingy in status bar in not showing up at all ...
2.It seems that status bar icons are slighty misaligned , there is small gap from left (i wanted to add screenshot but right now i can´t transfer screenshot to PC)
A720F support?
i just installed the new build and it wont let me connect to the wifi

Hello everyone!
As you all know how we got ahead with LineageOS and the CAF rebase, if you have no idea go here to check what was happened last time TAP HERE!
I have always been open about my work, and the sources have always been updated on my GitHub, so we are taking the CAF rebase ahead with us to Android 10, the same sources that were used to make AOSiP and LineageOS builds I published here on XDA.
In a world full of kangs everywhere, most people here are just copy pasting work without actually giving credits to the original author, well tbh I don't have time to argue with them, everybody knows what I do and how I do, many of you PMed when you saw Android 10 in works. Thanks to each one of you for supporting me everytime, this is dedicated to all our sane people of Lavender. I could do nothing without the support I got from you all, despite being kicked out from the official group, all the hatred being spread and what not, I have never said anything to people regarding that, I tend to stay calm and do what I should, continue my work without drama.

A big thanks to Sebastian Andres (kjjnob), he has been a great friend and Android 10 device sources were actually finalised by him, he helped me a lot.

I figured it out, the problem is XDA App is unable to recognise
elements without
No matter where I place known issue, like above features, it'd still wreck the position up. So now I added
before 'You tell me' and it works fine on XDA labs.
But on browser version, it automatically put a bullet even if it wasn't put manually in the thread code.
I hope you understand what I am trying to convey!
Open this in browser, as XDA labs is not showing the symbol.

Nope. Turning on the wireless display causes the phone to soft reboot. Other than that, the ROM is perfect just as how we'd expect from the dev.

What's working?
Audio
Calls
Wifi
Hotspot
Mobile data
GPS
Bluetooth
Fingerprint
Camera (both photos and video)
NFC
Sensors
Vibration
Others I have forgot
What isn't working?
Echo present in calls for the other side (no fix currently found)
Video recording with stock camera (fix known, will be implemented in next build)
Encryption and extended storage via SD (possible to fix, didn't have time to debug yet)
Stretched preview in camera, photos are fine (fix has more downsides than upsides)
Supported variants
Galaxy A3 (2017). Dual SIM is also supported.
All variants should be working but only A320FL is well tested since all developers have it.
How to install
Make sure you have latest bootloader and modem before installing this.
Make sure you are using the latest OrangeFox build. (the older ones will fail)
Make sure you have flashed the repartition script.
Download the Lineage build, optionally GApps and Magisk.
In OrangeFox format data. (Menu > Manage Partitions > Data > Format Data)
In OrangeFox wipe everything except SD and OTG.
Flash LineageOS.
Optional: Flash GApps (rightafter).
Optional: Flash Magisk.
Reboot.
Generally it's ok to dirty flash, but if you encounter issues a clean flash should be the first thing on your mind.

Nice work, thanks!
Any guess what could cause the SM-320FL to hard reboot when I insert the microSD card, choose to extend the internal memory, then start to format? It rebooted at 20% of the formatting process, then reboots all the time when I give the PIN code after the bootup and it tries to read the microSD card (I guess). If I take out, no reboot of course.
Edit: any temp. workaround? Formatting in twrp or in another device? (For using it as an internal memory extender, not just as an external storage.)

Hello. First nice work !! I used to have your Lineage 16 which worked fine and decided to upgrade to Lineage17. Yet I have some troubles with the camera with the error "unable to connect to the camera" and camera won't launch. When having this error I have spotted that there is a camera icon in the status bar and I can't get rid of it. Else no other problem detected. Thanks.

If you have the problems with the camera, this sounds like an app using the camera when you try to use it and I haven't been able to reproduce the problem. Please check all your apps and report back.
Hope you like the ROM
Ok thanks. Another issue : I can't get split-screen working with any apps. And you?
Other issue : the echos in calls...but well-known issue on lineage. Hope you will find something...
That is good we do have a separate thread of LOS17 now.
Is spoofing (for microG) already included? Not sure whether patcher works for LOS17 already. If one of you guys here get it working with microG - please rise a hand.
Is OrangeFox a must have or can I keep latest TWRP?

From what other users told me spoofing doesn't work with MicroG.
You can either use the TWRP included in the repartition script or latest OrangeFox. Either way it must support /vendor or you'll get error 7 while flashing

I think you misunderstood this. The Rom is either spoofed (but obviously not, what a pity!) - or it has to be by external tools like Nanodroid Patcher. Otherwise microG will not work. But as I checked that some time ago, the Patcher couldn't handle Android Q. That's why I am asking. So best option (and less effort) would be if ROM is spoofed already.
Vendor I have already with my Treble+GSI LOS 16 Rom.

Yup, ROM is not spoofed out of the box, so your only hope is nanodroid patcher, which doesn't seem to work in Q :/
Also if you've already got Treble, you can flash this with the TWRP you are currently using
Hello, thanks for your great job.
I have two points :
- When using your ROM, after UI start, I have the message system_error_manufacturer (msgid="8086872414744210668") popup. I googled and chek the code isBuildConsistent. On my phone, the two checked strings seem ok. So I dont uderstand why I have this message.
- I try to build myself with the gitlab manifest readme. My first atemp was ok but I also have the system_error_manufacturer error message. Some days latter, I try to patch the function with a big /* */ to avoid the check and always return true. I sync the lineage code and patch the isConsistent() function, rebuild and flash my rom. My phone keep on the bootimg anim and never start. On the /proc/last_krnl, nothing else than some SElinux warning. I try with androidboot.selinux=permissive on kernel command line but same result. I delete all my lineage root and resync all from scratch but the build did not boot anymore. Please, could-you check if your build boot with the last comit of lineage 17.1 and android_samsung_universal7870 ?
Thanks by advance.

I am building myself and running the latest at this time (using the crdroid device tree) and everything is running perfectly for me! (even with a few patches of my own like enabling dark mode in defaults app and a few command-line programs like rtl-sdr, no gapps (f-droid only)). Added screenshots to prove it indeed boots.
If I'm not mistaken this ROM uses the android_samsung_universal7870 device tree as it is on Gitlab?
Then the only few bugs I can talk about are the USB settings unable to be changed live while that worked on the outdated device tree from Github (screenshot can be provided), and the Camera, but I know that's already WIP.
(Sure there's echo in calls but... No one was successful at fixing this and even the crappiest patches I tried myself didn't work)
Thanks to all those who works on this device tree.
The provided Rom of the dedicated XDA thread run fine on my device but when building myself, I have the same problem : traped on bootanim.
Strange, I supose it's my buid env, my laptop is on Debian 10 and I did not make any mod on the standard base.
I will try with a VM and Ubuntu LTS as sugested by AOSP Project.

Thank you for great work, can I ask from where can get latest modem and boot-loader without download whole firmware?
Hello,
Problems are solved ?
Echo present in calls for the other side (investigating)
Video recording with stock camera (fix known, will be implemented in next build)
Encryption and extended storage via SD (investigating)
Stretched preview in camera, photos are fine (probably unfixable)
And stay at home.
Best regards
Migrate doesn't detect it as an installed rom, any help?

I have pushed some changes to GitLab yesterday which fix this problem. You should be able to boot a new build just fine now :highfive:
