Touch screen latency problem?? - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Does anyone having issue about touchscreen delay or lag or latency or whatever..? I hav mi 6x brandnew and i hav experiencing slow touch compared to redmi note 5 zzz

Why no one is complaining about slow touch and latency of mi 6x mi a2 :3

Is there any ?

Yes, I also experienced high latency on my Mi A2 64gb, it did not feel good at all! I compared it to a Huawei P20 and my iPhone 7 Plus, and they was light years better in touch screen.

I've noticed it and it's usually very noticeable when swiping left on the homescreen to look at google now cards. Specifically scrolling up or down sometimes leads to no action actually occurring. I enabled the developer options that shows the touches cause I thought it was a touchscreen problem and was actually able to see the touches drawing (so my gesture was being recognized) but the app did not scroll up or down at all. Removing the finger and scrolling again fixes it every time but it's certainly annoying.

In this review they actually test latency and yes is it very high compare to other phones. It is around 110ms on Mi A2! Redmi Note 5 has 91 ms and phones like Huawei P20 has 68ms and iPhone X 41ms.

Big thank Fyi, one thing i hav noticed that i hav three ph redmi 5 plus ,redmi note 5 and this shhit mi 6x ,and mi 6x hav very much high touch latency and its really PROMINENT everytime scrolling to everythings even in setting app. so i hav compared with redmi note 5 side by side and redmi note 5 is doing a lot more faster and really typing accurate ..so what does xiaomi got this..?...and anothet thing i hav experienced that when i first handled redmi 5 plus ,i got exact same problem like that ,so high touch latency ,alot of ppl at that time also in our country Myanmar complaining about touch ,then i decided to wait FIRMWARE updates and really it got fixed in recent updates ,then i started to check engineering menu and touch panel firmware version is increased and it got fixed, so now its faster than mi 6x ,lol.....then i got redmi note 5 which has the exact same material with redmi note 5 (Tianma TD4310) and its touch is fast ,So we can conclude that xiaomi fixed touch latency in redmi 5 plus and then released to redmi note 5 bcz the same touch sensor is used ,So i hope that mi 6x touch got fixed by getting updates in the future .xD

i hav mentioned about Mi 6x (and of course Mi a2 is suffering also..,)touch latency eariler before.and now here is what i got like in Oneplus 3T touch latency, i always got above the greenline everytime i typed in keyboard and everytime i scrolling to smth.. so Plz check it by developer options and scroll down all the way to Monitoring tab and then Select profile gpu rendering To On screen bars and then check it by typing fast or scrolling smth.. i m having very bad experience for now in Mi a2

This may b that u may not notice to what i mentioned the problem..So plz scroll in setting app.and the content r moving slower than the thumb reached to the point. U may scroll everything backward and forward fastly and u may noticed, or compare with another devices like redmi note 5 side by side and scroll smth on both ph, u will notice, and Plz test type fastly and u may notice too much words errors

For Those ppl who didnt believe me ,here is the Test of Mi a2 from France and kindly use chrome and check the screen section they did really tested about latency and mi a2 ,same at my mi 6x hav too much high about 110 ms.,quite unacceptable tho..

and here is poco f1 test..also hav same with mi 6x too much high latency.

If you've got the NVT screen (Tianma), I was able to overclock it to 70HZ. It should definitely help with response and latency. I also optimized my kernel for latency using a lot of tweaks. Take a look at the beta group if you wanna try:

I came from Mi A1 to Mi A2 and A2 actually has lower latency or atleast that's my experience but compared to my Nexus 5 A2 has a lot of latency. Can't complain at this price point.

Same as the ****ing poco f1 and i hav just already sold my 4 days old mi 6x..
Dont buy these shhit, latency is too high and unusable.

Plz spread to other ppl, who is going to buy mi 6x or pocof1 and tell them not to buy.. that two shhits

Scrolls as fast as I move my thumb here. No lag noticeable. And I am pretty sure I'd notice 100ms

And yes this is screen refresh rate, and all we want is to reduce touchscreen latency and response time when fingers move one point to another.bro..,poco ph and mi a2 or mi 6x hav the exact nt36672 digitizer And that is used in Oukitel ph...what a shame.

Popup Camera sided LEDs cause visual problem on LCD

Got my mi 9t pro weeks ago, after around 2 weeks of using when I open the selfie camera it shows the LED lights on popup camera on screen as well! which is annoying cause the phone is new with no problem(well atleast software-wise)
here is the clip of the problem
https://media.giphy.com/media/frGbhK6J30aSNADl4u/giphy.gif
anyone else has this problem?
pretty sure its not normal lol
yes don't worry dude it's just a animation
Lol, it came with miui11, it's a software "feature" xiaomi devs thought would be cool.
Little bling bling, you no like?
No worries, it's not a hardware problem.
Just find in settings / additional settings / front camera effects.
You can turn off this, sound and led even.

yeah I know, I turned them off, both visual and sound, Thanks though
and I'm on MIUI 10.3.3, not 11 yet, but I have my doubts to update, Specially for Battery life and stuff, and no major upgrade on MIUI 11 compares to 10.3
I'm on 10.3.4. And couldn't care less to update to 11, I'm reading about various problems people have, battery, overheating, tethering, etc thanks no.

11.0.3 gives me better battery life than 10 ever did with battery saver on.
Lol Made my day, thank you

Yes outdoor you can upgrade, the biggest upgrade is the Android 10. We must be proud that our device for it so short than many other phones. Also work MIUI 11, the phone overall performance has imported. I am also getting better battery backup in MIUI 11.

9T pro Vs 8 pro

Hi guys. I need an advise on wich phone to choose Mi 9T pro or Redmi note 8 pro. I'm not a heavy gamer. For me most important is camera, battery and community support (yes i know about 8 Pro Helio soc). Watched many videos in YouTube and still can't decide which device to choose. Seems both have a good camera's and decent battery life. Help me to choose ?

My biggest influences was that I didn't want a notch or punch hole and wanted to ensure a decent level of custom ROM support.
It sounds like MTK are looking to be a bit more dev friendly, but personally I would want to see that happen first before considering an MTK device.

What about camera between these two? I prefer better camera over notch/punch hole (i don't like those too) but community support Is most important for a long term usage...
Maybe i have to wait a bit longer and see what will happen with 8 Pro and development.
Thx

The jury is out, with regards the camera. DXOmark didn't think it was anything special. There is a limit to how many pixels you can cram in such a tiny space and I reckon the Samsung ISOCELL chip had pushed things too far. It will be relying, too much, on post processing to remove the noise. Keeping around the 48MP range of the Sony and of their earlier ISOCELL sensor (so 12MP effective for most shots), with the larger sensor size could have given them a sweet spot.

Problems with tactile sensitivity and response time

I experience a delay in tactile response and a lack of sensitivity in tactile, it is also very imprecise in this Xiaomi my 9t pro/k20 pro.
It happens to someone else, there’s a solution?
I have noticed this issue on my other Xiaomi phones as well. I think MIUI has terrible optimization/calibration for it.
My Redmi Note 4 (SD625) and Redmi Note 7 has both terrible touch response. I flashed the latest firmware and a custom ROM (Pixel Exp). Now the touch is accurate and very responsive.
However, on my Poco, Mi 9 and K20 Pro, the touch is responsive and precise even on stock MIUI.

Yes, I am certain. It's just a software issue that Xiaomi doesn't care about.
Can anyone update me with their experience on PE?
And also would want to know about good ROMs for k20 pro.
Thanks RebornCheiko. Switching to PE solved my problems

[Mi 8] Screen 60-?hz OC

Is it possible for us to overclock the display? Mi9Se and K20 Pro have OС 90hz, are our displays worse and not able to OС.

The short Answer is No, your panel was not designed for a higher refresh rate.
The longer answer is also No.
But there are indeed threads within the Mi8 forums that provided a link to patch that was taken from the Mi9 forum, that file along with claims that the BTBO patch would raise your refresh rate. and make your phone faster. Search and you will find them along with myself and others warning them to not to use the patch. Hilariously, quite a few of those did not heed to our warnings and rudely told us that the patch would not break their phone and that they have it installed. The next day several people sent a PM asked for help fixing their phones when they stopped booting, I actually found a solution for a couple of these people.
TLDR : Don't use any BTBO refresh rate increase patches they will work for one day and then fail and brick your phone.

Ehm, please never flash any over clock kernel. It destroys your screen. Many users reported on K20 Pro and Mi 9 a green display after a time.

Question Upgrading from a mi8

Hi, i have a mi8 and looking foward to update to mi10t pro or mi 11, which phone do you guys recomend?, i've seen from myself that mi 11 has some heating issues and some issues regarding software and hardware ( the camera and the apps sometines closes ), but that should get fixed by a update no ?
What phone should i get?
Mi 11 for sure. Overheating and majority of bugs fixed in 12.5, or so ive heard. For me Amoled > IPS, but its personal preference
I would recommend a Mi 10. The Mi 11 has an awfull battery life. It does heat very easily, whatever you are doing.

The system not being optimized doesn't help that much, myself talking from experience, i had mui on mi 8 last version, and had a terrible battery SOT, i changed to EvoX or even One Rom from TechRev and the battery improved by a lot, sometimes its just the system that is **** :v, i've been saying oppo x3 pro, interesting phone

I've seen those news myself, not sure if it's true or not, but in recent benchmarks or comparissions on youtube, i've seen that this month (april) the mi 11 prefers a bit better than in its launch
