Unless it rolls out with a future update i don't think the phone as of now supports Wi-Fi Calling

On my wife's HPlay phone there are VoLTE and VoWiFi features. So if you type certain "secret codes" you can verify if it is on your phone. It also requires support from your operator.
Another option is to use SIP application and account to use VoIP calls.

Sprint User - advisable to get unlocked model?

I've been reading about all the Note 8's (Snapdragon) being the same hardware but different firmwares which can be flashed vice-versa. I'll assume the ESN/MEID of the unlocked models are in Sprint's database. (Still have nightmares trying to activate a Nexus 6P with Sprint)
I'm wondering if it is worth it to get the unlocked model and then flash/ODIN the Sprint firmware (for Wifi-Calling/Calling Plus, and VoLTE, etc).
Why go through this? If I can get the unlocked model cheaper than the Sprint branded version, is it worth it?
I'm on unlocked note 8 with sprint. Activation was simple. easy and no trouble. I do have wifi calling.

Did you flash the Sprint firmware for WiFi calling or just the way it came out the box?

As soon as the SIM activates, WiFi calling enables...as soon as LTE Calling is available, I bet we get it too...could be mistaken though...

How are you getting voicemail? Without the sprint visual voicemail app, do you have to dial into your own number or hold "1" in the dialer to check ur messages?

*73 works but FYI it forwards calls after 23 seconds or if you hit END
*28 is what gvoice recommends which forwards on no answer or busy.
Almost the same thing but you get the busy signal forward as well as when it goes to voicemail with 28. 73 is more of a timeout or on reject.

Sprint WiFi calling already works on unlocked version...for VoIP we are waiting for update...Sprint will enable provisioning for your imei if you call them...mine is enabled awaiting the VoIP update when released...Verizon and AT&T are the only ones having issues with WiFi calling and VoLTE...Video calling is not even offered by Sprint
My unlocked on Sprint has:
Download Booster
WiFi Calling
Hotspot (shortcut master lite method)
HD voice (shortcut master lite enable enhanced lte)
VoIP (provisioned by Sprint but awaiting app (like Sprint's WFC for WiFi calling) to be installed in future update to work)
VVM by Google Voice (Sprint VVM needs root and build prop edit with required files pushed to system folders)
No Video Calling will be available because Sprint and Google agreed for Google duo....which is sometimes better anyways
Duo does work great, have tried with both my wife and father ( both have s8s) . I got email today that my Sprint SIM CARD was shipped but the phone is still on backorder, errrr. Hoping to get update in few days since when i bought it said would be shipped after the 15th.. FINGERS CROSSED!!!
Ps, did you have to do anything to the phone to get the wificalling or hotspot working?? I have hotspot on my sprint plan so i plan on using it for tablets for the kids., and deff want VOLTE when its ready

This doesn't mean anything.
Can you post screenshot while making a phone call if it shows LTE or drops to H+??
Does wifi calling work?
An update on this matter...
As far as I can tell Huawei has been fixing one of their shortcomings and allowing VoLTE support on many more carriers despite the phone being the wrong reason.
I've heard from a reliable source that, although I didn't think it was true, indeed VoLTE works on T-Mobile US.
Note that this may or may not depend on the version/branding of the P20 Pro.
Wifi calling does not and has never worked on T-Mobile US with Huawei phones unfortunately.
This guy gets VOLTE on tmobile:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIqKuE1Dx40
as best I can tell it works.. I make a call and band 12 stays connected throughout the call when VOLTE is enabled in settings.
Does 4G symbol remain while on call

Can you try this please?
1. Turn WiFi off.
2. Make sure 4G symbol is showing on your cellular bars at the top of the screen.
3. Make a phone call. You can even call 611 for T-MO customer service, and make sure that 4G symbol still remains while on the call and that it does not change to 3G or anything else? And if you can post a screenshot, it would be much appreciated.
Are you using the CLT-L29 and what region? European or Latin American version?

Correct it's the dual sim CLT-L29 Build Number is clt l29 8.1.0.106(c636)
That method of testing would be a step backward. I have already confirmed I am calling over Band 12. VOLTE is working, atleast for me on T-Mobile. I wasn't expecting it to from reviews but it was a nice surprise.
Thanks

A workaround to get WiFi calling is to download T-Mobile Digits from play store and you can use the app to make wifi calls. You may need to sign up for T-MOBILE Digits. I'm not sure. I was a beta tester for Digits and they since let me keep the service for free on 3 devices.

I've been using google voice / hangouts dialer (or whatever they want to call it this month) for a few years now. I hardly ever use T-mobile for calls, works out well when you want an international phone. Less reliance on the network features.
Out of curiosity do you remember if T-Mobile digits worked for incoming calls as well?

Yes it does work. And the fact that you can mimic one number or multiple numbers as many times as you'd like on multiple devices is pretty cool.
brother phone NEO-L29 Mate RS dual sim with sim t-mobile.pl i have options to VoLTE and WIFI calling
VoLTE definitely works and Wificalling menu is hidden. Don't think it works, yet but that might change at some point. Use a program like quickshortcutmaker and search for calling. The last option seems to be for att and the second from bottom is TMobile.

I believe that's because you are using an international phone in an international country on an international version of T-MO.

VoLTE/Wifi Calling LG V405QA

Has anyone figured out how to get wifi calling working? I've been looking for a third party app that will help, but I'm wondering if I just need to flash the 405UA fw on there. Can anyone tell me if that will work?
I have the same problem/question.
I did end up flashing the Verizon UA version, and at least for that carrier and where I live, wifi calling was lower quality than the carrier's. I know that doesn't really help, but I thought I'd update for you.

Thanks. I think I'd avoid all that as it is not that important to me. Cheers
BTW - for others, I am on ATT (via Red Pocket). R.P. says they support wifi calling and Volte on their GSMA (ATT) network. See here <https://help.redpocket.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022031312-What-is-WiFi-calling-and-can-I-use-it-with-my-Red-Pocket-service->. I had to call them to get wifi calling "enabled". But that still did nothing and in the phone's tech page (using USSD *#*#4636#*#*) it has never shown Volte or wifi calling provisioned.
I found this blog <https://gstylemag.com/2018/10/29/an-unlocked-lg-v40-is-both-amazing-and-not-on-atts-network/> and from the author says it just doesn't work. He also implies that the settings page for wifi calling is dynamically configured and that this item "disappears" when on ATT. So FYI.

Stock rom or similar with VOLTE and WIFI calling enabled?

Hi guys,
Seems like a common problem with Xperia phones in that carrier settings on the stock rom the phone ships with doesn't have VOLTE or WIFI Calling enabled so even if your carrier has provisioned it, you can't enable it via *#*#4636#*#*
Does anyone have a fix or something that can be flashed onto the phone to help?

So this is what it is. I imported my Xperia 1 ii from Clove UK and was using it with Verizon didn't get VOLTE and WIFI calling.
I switched to tmobile didn't get VOLTE and WIFI calling, after some research and googling found out that Google Project Fi will give both WIFI calling and VOLTE.
3 days before I ordered my project Fi sim from Google it arrived last night I inserted it into my phone and Voila I get WIFI calling there is a toggle for that and also I am getting VOLTE.
I WAS paying 85 dollars on T-Mobile magenta plus plan on 1 line now I will be paying 80 dollars with Google Fi for 1 line. I am gonna put out a YouTube video tonight for Xperia 1 ii with Google fi.
Umm not everyone wants to switch to Google Fi someone else suggested this but nobody wants to switch lol

I don't know why people don't want to switch, I am talking about single line with taxes included it's 78 dollars for unlimited. Look at Verizon, T-Mobile and att what they are charging for one line. Then only on Fi you get wifi calling and volte with Xperia 1 ii. Those were enough reason for me to switch.
I'm glad it works for you, however, I pay $80 for 3 lines and true unlimited data on Tmobile. Google-Fi makes no sense for me and there are no reports of someone flashing the US firmware to see if it works yet. Some of us are waiting for someone to test it out.

It's just my point of view, even thou Google Fi works on T-Mobile network but there service is just out of this world where ever I have gone with it. No network congestion, Google made Android and they know how to optimize the cellular network.

It'll work. I'd flash the US firmware, but it's still on an old version. I'll flash when I get back stateside at the end of July. VoLTE works on t-mobile as long as you're on US Firmware. Has worked for my XZ3 and 1.
I don't want to switch to Google fi as well.
I attempted to use flash tool to get a customised firmware but was unable to get this working. Have any of you tried the method outlined by Brocnical?
Project Fi is a no go for me as I'm located in Australia.
Keen to get this figured out.

Question wifi calling

Noticed that there is no wifi calling option in settings > network > call and sms (both options are greyed out) Im in the UK using Lebara (Vodafone)
Spoke with Lebara and they believe there's an ongoing issue with Google and wifi calling.
Can anyone in UK confirm its available for them please?

I'm in the US but noticed the same thing. I did a search in settings and found it. I enabled it and it works great.
where in settings please? searched for wifi calling and nothing specifically returned for it
Tap settings in the search filed type wifi calling. It worked for me. Mine is the Unlocked US version.
just in case others are curious. This is known issue in the UK between Lebara and Google. Currently wifi calling is not supported on the pixel 7 at all.. with Lebara (I'm not sure if this is just UK and/or Vodafone anywhere else)

Got the same response. Switched to VOXI (Vodafone) and I can finally use WiFi + 4G calling. Honestly stupid, they use the same infrastructure but intentionally block it on some devices.

Should be illegal.
They do it for $$$ reasons.
You pay for data, yet they block tethering...
Phone providers get away with too much. Why can I not root my phone, install custom rom/kernel but I can do anything I want on my home PC and still maintain warranty?
