Need help to disable proximity sensor on 8.1 Resurrection Remix 6.1 - Xiaomi Redmi 4a Questions & Answers

Hello guys, I am using Resurrection remix 6.1 (Android Oreo 8.1) ROM on my Redmi 4a,
Unfortunately my display was broken and I had to replace it with another display, the service center guy missed the proximity rubber while installing the display and now my display shows always near (0cm) value on my proximity sensor.
So when I make a call screen automatically turns off and can't be turned on until next person puts an end to the call, I am unable to put calls on speaker, unable to merge calls and even unable to look for contact while call is ongoing.
In earlier version of Android 6.0 and less there was an option to disable proximity sensor in call settings, but Oreo and even nougat also don't have option to disable proximity sensor.
I have searched on internet and was unable to look for an option to disable proximity sensor, there is an app called sensor disable but it need xposed installed, and I am not sure if Rolex support xposed as xposed is in beta condition for 8.1 roms, my device is however rooted with magisk manager.
Any suggestions, guides, instructions or solutions will be appreciated..

Try to the Xposed module Sensor Disabler. It might take some reboots and after every reboot you have to disable the sensor again (or force a different value)

Disable completely proximity sensor

Hello
My phone Moto G2 have a little problem that is draining battery like crazy. Basically my phone went into the water, everything works besides proximity sensor that is faulty now. It does work completely OK with some ROMs (CM 14.1 for example) but on some it will be on all the time (I can see proximity sensor red light under the top speaker). I was able to disable it using Xposed module, but Xposed is not available for Android N yet.
Is there any other way to disable it?

Cannot find option to turn off proximity sensor during calls

Hi,
I'm using rooted dotOS (Android 7.1.2) along with venom kernel. I'm having issues with the proximity sensor in my phone, the screen goes blank during as soon as I place a call and doesn't allow me to do anything until the call is disconnected. I went to call settings to see if there's an option to turn it off but there was none. I also tried disabling it with 'Sensor disabler' xposed module but it didn't work.
Is there any other way to turn it off? Thanks in advance.

proximity and light sensor don't work on LOS 16

Hello,
I did install Lineage OS 16 with TWRP 3.3.1 on my z3c and I got an issue with some sensors. I used some testing apps and neither of them received values from the proximity sensor. This goes together with my experience that the display doesn't turn off while calling. Additionally the brightness of the display doesn't change if I turn on automatic brightness. That's why I think the light sensor isn't working either.
Do you know of any patch to make these sensors working? Or if this is not possible is there a best-practice workaround?
Thanks in advance!

Question Proximity Sensor broken

Hello guys, is there a way to disable the proximity sensor or mock it somehow? Some devices also have an option to disable/enable pocket mode.
Using the phone with a bricked proximity sensor is a bummer, because I can't use AOD, tap to wake, or display new notifications. I would be really thankful if someone could help me.
PS: I always use root, so there shouldn't be any restrictions that way. I also tried xposed and the sensor disabler module, but it didn't work on A11 nor A13.
Update: the sensor is probably not fully broken, it works under bright sunlight, but only under bright sunlight.
